Was our 1st time going here and was pleased at everything they had. Had a great selection of fish. Had lots of cute birds. And lots of good foods, toys and lots of other stuff to pick from.

I bought a lovebird about 3 months ago and its doing fine, glad I got one, but now I want a second bird especially a Cockatiel but last time I went they told me all of them were bought and I wonder when are you getting new ones for sale, I put my number on a waiting list and hopefully I do get a call for when one is available.

First time in this place. Crickets and dog chewys. Alice is an awesome specimen but the day she hurts a little kid wont be good.I never let customers interact with my Nile or Burmese for that very reason when I had my shop.The kid that helped me was super friendly and the other one didnt seem all that friendly.Place was clean in the front and the salt tank looked maintained.Would buy crickets again.

They have amazing customer service and were very helpful they mad my son feel safe to express his excitement over the animals they have and answered all of our questions.

Be very careful when dealing with Gallery of Pets. They take no responsibility for the pets they sell. Even if it’s only been one week since the purchase of the sweetest little bunny that died during the night. The person I spoke to was completely without compassion as she told me that there is nothing they can do for me. I heard the employee say “this woman is going to yell at you” as she handed the phone to the manager. I was already grieving the loss of the beautiful bunny and then belittled by the employees.

We’re looking to buy a tortoise, but are new to having a reptile so we wanted to learn more about them. The staffs are nice, however, they don’t want to help you unless you’re going to buy it right then and there. Literally that is what they start the conversation. Had they ever thought why people come to a pet store in the first place? We explained that eventually, yes, but would like to know more before taking that step. They told us they had to ask the store owner and left us to help ourselves. Poor customer service, the place is a mess, their pets look uncomfortable and serious sanitation issues.

My mom brought our toy poodle here to be groomed in the 80s. This wonderful store has been in NW Austin for decades. Great variety, wonderful staff and a very clean and organized store. I love looking at all the cool birds!

Its clear that they all really care about the well-being of their animals and gave us advice on taking care of our own fur and feather babies back at home.My family snd I have been going here for years and its always been such a delight to go visit when were nearby.

This place is awesome! They have a tortoise walking around and its so friendly. Theres a big white parrot that says hello to you. The animals are so cute! I recommend going there if you want a pet fish,parrot,rabbits and more! If you want reptiles tarantulas and mice thats a good place to go! This place is amazing!!

There cages and care for birds are horrible, i mean you can even see plucking in most birds which tells how stressed they are. I think its fine yall are breeding them but I think yall should have a section for birds that got abandoned/need to be re homed.

I recently moved to the area and have fallen in love with this place! I come here every week now and have enjoyed every trip! Sebastian is my go to guy for my fish tanks and I immediately look for him as soon as. I walk in the store!

I love this place! Staff are extremely knowledgeable, you can feel the love they have for the animals in their care. The animals are all fun to see. The kiddos enjoyed it. Theyve got 🐟, 🐦, 🐀, 🐇, 🐢 and 🦎 for purchase and all kinds of equipment to take care of your new pets!

Ridiculously over priced!!! Bought super worms from them and they charge. 30 cents per worm. And put them in a plastic bag, with no ventilation so most of them were dead by the time I got home.And the rude employee made it seem like it was my fault. absolutely no reason why they do not use ventilation containers especially at that price.

When I went to the gallery of pets, my daughter wanted to get some food for her birds and it turns out that you only had seeds, my daughter said that birds should have a healthy diet of pellets because seeds are fattening and unhealthy for birds, so please look into this. Another day, we went to see what birds you have because we were considering another one, we went to the same gallery of pets store and saw that there weren’t much birds, there was only one green cheek conjure and one cockatiel and a bunch of budgies (we already have budgies so we were looking for a different species), so please consider putting more birds. Overall, I like the bird cages that you have, it’s always good to have big cages for your birds. I hope you look into all these things, and if you do then I think I might rate it 5 stars.Thanks :)

Not a very welcoming experience being that it was my first time there, although the two young ladies in the bird area were very nice and friendly. They have some great animals to look at, but I probably wont go back though.

After a ton of research and visiting the store I decided to get my budgie from here. They truly care about their birds (and all animals). Im so happy a place like this exists!

We went to find a female Guinea pig and they practically refused to even let us check and they seemed impatient the entire time we were there (about 5 minutes). We understand that gender can not necessarily be guaranteed but to be rude about our request to check was just not called for. To say the least we didnt buy anything from them.

Great local pet shop. Plus when you buy a pet from them they offer to pet sit for 17 dollars a day! Awesome deal!

This store is so worth a visit!! theyve got bunnies, reptiles, and an adorable group of birds. the food they sell for pets is healthier than their petco alternatives and the people who work at the store are knowledgeable; if youve got a question about a pet, this is your go to.

Employees were knowledgeable and friendly. The store has a wide variety of animal companions including snakes, lizards, birds, and fish. All of these animals are well kept and are relatively clear view of the customer.The layout also kept the more smellier animals away from the front of the store. Their prices for reptiles and their supplies are comparible to similar stores in the area.

We loved this place! They had exactly the species of fish we wanted. They have beautiful pets and creatures, all healthy from what I have seen for sale.You will not be disappointed.

I appreciate the ever changing variety of tropical fish they get. And their prices on supplies are no higher than Amazon. That big tortoise keeps nipping at my ankles though.

I brought Bill home today. He loves his cage,toys,pirches and food(which they helped me pick out). The staff is knowledgeable,helpful and friendly. You can tell they have a passion for what they do. Service was wonderful and they had alot of different little animals. We were there to purchase a rabbit. The guy that helped us let us know everything we needed and was very helpful and was kind and spent a good amount of time with us.

This was a hard one. Only reason I actually give it stars is because of the pets they have inside. The customer service here is horrible. I came in with my 3 kids ready to buy them more pets and set ups. No staff member ever approached us. When my wife went up to both employees working they each looked at her and my kids like we had just bothered them. The kid behind the register was having a conversation with his friend about nothing pertaining to work. He looked at my wife and answered her questions with half effort. Before I lost my cool I told my wife lets go and spend our money elsewhere. Never again will I visit this place. Just a heads up gallery of pets we went to another location a few minutes away and spent almost 2k on pets enclosure and supplies for each of my kids. You should train staff a little better.

Absolutely unbelievable. When going there to get a first bird for teenage grand child, was astounded at how knowledgeable these people are.Incredibly they wont sell you a bird until you bring the cage in and they get the bird used to it for a couple of days (theres NO charge for this). A friend gave us a cage, but the spacing on the bars was too large for the small parakeet we bought.So we bought a proper cage. They helped set it up with the things we needed (which we had no knowledge about - millet holder, toy, pumice perch, etc.) They put our little parakeet in it with a companion. Theyll will weigh him and make sure hes eating properly and comfortable in the cage. This is a couple of days or a week. Then we can take him home.Theyre there 7 days a week to answer questions in person or on the phone. Theyll trim feathers anytime (except Sundays) for free. Forever.$10 a year puts you into their Pet Club, which gives you a 10% discount. I saved more than $10 already and havent even brought our bird home yet.Shopping at this store brought me back to the early 1960s, when customer service actually was more than a phrase and meant something.Pretty cool to see them giving Alice her breakfast. This huge tortoise got led to her meal with a squash.I couldnt imagine EVER going to another pet store in Austin.

Amazing place if youre looking for a new pet, but they dont have as many birds right now because so many people want one. Very organized, humane, and caring. Definitely shop here over places like Petsmart or Petco- your pet will be so much friendlier, healthier, and youll be very prepared.

When you visit, there are a lot of signs; Take care to read them ALL. The owner is stern and will remind you of the rules. I love the store for its variety, but I dont feel comfortable browsing. This is a smaller store where you will be closely watched, with or without a bag or backpack. If its just the younger staff, the atmosphere is great. Would not recommend bringing energetic pets.

As someone who was a first time bird owner, I absolutely love this place. They answered all my questions making me positive to buy my little bean. They helped all the way from choosing the right bird, finding cages, my toys, to even helping me set up the cage! The staff here are so friendly and informed and were so polite! I loved coming here and cant wait to keep shopping for my bird supplies.If youre in search of a bird or supplies I highly recommend gallery, they know what theyre doing!

Although they had some cute animals their selection was limited except for a bunch of birds. Also the employees answered my questions the girls there were friendly but the boys up front were just kinda there didnt seem to wanna have any contact with the outside and seemed annoyed with my company. I probably wont visit again

I went in knowing nothing about fish, and now have a beautiful tank with three pretty little guys. The staff is very knowledgeable, and you cant leave without saying hi to their awesome turtle! Also have a beautiful blue parrot!

On Monday, in the aftermath of the snowstorm, an employee/owner who happened to be in the closed (for weather) store working, extremely graciously let me do a curbside pickup when I realized I was completely out of cat food. She went out of her way to help me when she absolutely didnt have to, and I am so grateful. Thank you again!

I would give 0 stars if I could. I’ve reported this store to numerous outlets. I witnessed a dead, shriveled African fat tail gecko rotting in an enclosure without a lid with the heat bulb STILL ON. The employees had no care in the world. They have the rabbits, mice, and other mammals crammed in a small corner in small kennels. The other reptiles enclosure do not meet the husbandry requirements and not single heat element had a thermostat to regulate the temperatures. Extremely sad.

I have been a frequent customer of this store for the past few years. In addition to the great selection and fantastic customer service, one of the main points that keeps me returning is how wonderful the staff has been to my children. They are kind, respectful, and are always happy to educate them on myriad issues! My girls and I love this store, and well keep coming back.

Cute pet store, they have a lot of beautiful birds that are well taken care of. Rodents I believe were discontinued for now (call to ask) They have a salt water fish area along with fresh water. Large beautiful selections.

Oh my goodness I died and went to bird heaven! They have so many different varieties of birds and bird accessories/food its overwhelming. All the employees are very kind and informative and actually explained everything I needed to know. I will absolutely come back in the near future.

It has really nice birds and well educated birds to buy but customer service is really bad for my experience a worker that was working in the back in the bird area was extremely rude and had a really bad attitude we ask to buy a bird and they told us someone was gonna come help us and we waited for 20 minutes and nobody came also workers are not really helpful

I bought a fish tank couple of months ago and it is extremely loud . I would not be able to know how loud it is until I bought it .I called to know if I can either return or have a credit instead and they said not possible .I understand it is their policy but this is a confirmation why I should have picked a big place like Costco or amazon where returning something is an option .It is not the first time I buy from there and usually we have a good experience.Cathy the manager told me they can change the filter for me but when I bought it they said the filter is to be changed much later so this has nothing to do with its loud sound .When you buy a dishwasher for example, a part of its description is how loud it is .I just wish we were told and explained this part, we could have picked a different tank .

They have a great selection of birds, fish and bunnies, and they really love their animals. The kids love going in and seeing the store pets (they have a bird and a turtle that live there). The pets are well cared for, and they remember the pet we bought from them years ago. We still go back regularly, because they trim the claws and feathers free for the birds purchased at their store. Weve also boarded our bird there when we went out of town for an extended period, and he loved it. He always comes home more talkative after a visit.

Gallery of Pets is a great little pet store that really cares for the animals it sells. It also offers pet boarding as well as pet food and toys.

I had an amazing talk with an ex coworker, Zora, it was nice to catch up with her, she helped me get some supplies for my mom, she found frog eggs in my pool and brought them to the school she teaches at, to our surprise, the frog eggs were alive and now we’re raising frogs from tadpoles, I’d definitely recommend checking out their collection of fish or other pets, worth the time

The employees are friendly and knowledgeable about all animals in the shop. A wonderdul place to stoo for pet supplies and to visit any of the friendly birds, bunnies, and Alice the tortoise.

Over priced and rude customer service

We paid for a bird over a month ago. We visited the shop to bond with the bird, but they kept mixing up birds and bringing us different ones. WE dropped off a cage to cage train our bird last week, but when we went to pick up our bird today, there was no bird, just an empty cage. This was a $300 bird! Now we are out the money and cost of a cage and my daughter bonded with a bird that got sent home to someone else. One of the worst experiences of our lives!! WE have saved for 6 months to get this pet. Hope we can get a refund/discount and resolve our situation. I dont even know how to approach these people. So very disappointing.

Please, please do something about the sad state of your betta fish. They do not belong in a tiny half moon bowls on the wall. As you can probably tell, they are all colorless and unhealthy. They are tropical fish and need heated, filtered water.

I love coming to gallery of pets, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a wide selection of birds, fish, reptiles and the food and equipment needed to care for them.

I decided to stop by and look around after passing this place a few times. There is a wide selection of treats for dogs, cats, birds, fish, and other exotic pets such as hedgehogs and chameleons. There is also a variety of species of birds, tortoises, and fish for sale. I also thought it was awesome that there was a big tortoise walking around and making the place feel very homey.Ill definitely be back soon!

I give them 1 star only because they were fairly nice on our 1st visit, then my daughter bought 2 Sugar Gliders for over 600.00 and 1 died under 48 hours and they were willing to only give her 100.00 credit if she returned the other glider, as they are known to self mutilate, if alone, she had done her homework, she did not go into this not knowing what Sugar Gliders required.Luckily she found another seller who sold her a glider for less and I will continue to tell people about this place. 😡
