Great experience as a vegan tourist. Had lots to eat and since it was my last day in Austin, I definitely had to buy half a dozen as the ones I had in the shop were delicious. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. My personal recommendation would be the mazapan croissant. That flavor just takes it to the next level.5/5 stars, can’t wait to visit again when I’m back in town.

Tried this place out for the first time today and was insanely impressed. So impressed that I double checked to make sure it was fully vegan. We just recently moved here and have been trying out a lot of the well known vegan bakeries around town. We’ve been disappointed in a lot of the ones people claim to be so good. This place is by far THE BEST.

This coffee shop has a lot of potential. But at this time needs TLC. Shop was visibly unkempt with things on the floor and basic upkeep noticeably lacking. Cowgirl bar (rectangular cookie) was tasty. Cafe latte with oat milk was good. Has the general feel that the owner is not involved in day-to-day management. Love the animal friendly, cat and vegan themes.

My friend and I were so excited to go here! We are both vegans, and we loved being able to choose from so many options on the menu. My friend ordered the donut with pink frosting, which was very sweet and dense. I enjoyed a vegan empanada, which was delightfully savory. We also ordered a heart-shaped frosted sugar cookie. The plan was to take the food back to our hotel and save some for later, but it just smelled too good and we ate everything in the car! We will certainly be back.

Walking in, this small coffee shop eclectic and cozy; a small haven for vegan coffee addicts. There was cat art everywhere and books on floating shelves. Hipster to say the least. I was craving donuts sooo bad and Fat Cats Organic Coffee and Dessert hit the spot. I got a Lavender Donut and it was deliciously creamy but not too dense. All the coffee is vegan and they also have baked goods and ice cream. Super good, if you are driving that way.

Finally made it to Fat Cats, I have been looking forward to this Cafe after checking out their menu online. If your a cat lover Fat Cats decor is all about the kitties, showcasing local artwork of cats along the walls that you can purchase. The menu items from the coffee to the baked goods are organic and vegan. We ordered a waffle and added pecans to the mix which unfortunately was an extra .75 cents for a waffle at that price point. The showcase of baked goods caught my eye in which I gave the blueberry kolache a go with a Cubano coffee to wash it down. The kolache could have used a bit more blueberries but the Cubano was beautiful. Next was the waffle which was fluffy with a hint of vanilla. With more goodies in the showcase to indulge I ordered a coffee cake muffin which was simple, fluffy, and far from dry. They offer a free scoop of vanilla icecream (while supplies last) with every purchase you make. It was delicious, not to sweet and very creamy. Fat Cats is a cute spot but lacks the attentiveness and dash of Texas hospitality.

OMG, it is not often you find a place that captures your taste and appreciates your patronage. Fat Cats is the perfect spot for delish ice cream and sweet pastries. Zach provides great customer service and a welcoming atmosphere. I had the Liz Lemon Cookie ice cream, and I must say that for this creamy concoction of lemonocity I will drive the 30 min across town. If I could I would buy a tub of it for myself. My husband and kiddos had cookie dough and cookies and cream and they absolutely enjoyed theirs too. I appreciate the vegan ice cream offerings and the quality of the pastries we had a cat cookie and cinnamon roll. Even our dog enjoyed her fresh baked dog treats. Our new family sweet spot for sure!

It took 28 min to get a frozen blend to me - and it they overcharged me for it (by a lot), were nice to give free pastry, but it’s like they had never made one before. It was pretty good. It really sucked because waiting so long because the guy was trying but had customers etc and the ladies in kitchen just kept looking at me like “Should we go help this guy?” But then just ducked to the back. I could’ve saved 10 min if they had just poured the drink from the blender.Ok editedThe frozen drink and chocolate vegan doughnut were so good I added a star. Just please have a system in place for frozen drinks to not take so long and it’s all golden as the service and food are above averageCheers

A pleasant techno soundtrack plays in the background. There are six tables and a small bar counter that seat up to 16 persons, however, the bench seating is hard and uncomfortable. There is also a shelf with games. Restrooms are located in the rear. The coffee and ice cream are excellent. Service was business like, not friendly, and slow. We dont visit often enough, but whenever we do, the Soy Latte (for me) and the hot chocolate (for my husband) are awesome as are the baked treats (and you wouldnt know theyre vegan!).The only small quibble my husband has is that he hates cinnamon in his hot chocolate & unless he specifically asks to not have it, it gets added by default in his hot chocolate & so sometimes he has to drink a less than perfect, to him, hot chocolate because he doesnt want to waste what was served to him. Maybe the default should be without & the one with cinnamon could be called out specifically as Mexican hot chocolate? Its just the sweetest little coffee shop otherwise & we love it!

I usually come here for lunch and after several visits, I can comfortably say theyve never let me down; their service is great to good and theres hardly ever a line, though do expect to wait anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes, depending on your order. Their selection of teas and coffee are varied enough that youll almost always be tempted to try something a little different each time (me being me, I often stick to my favorite handful of top picks), and six different milk options thatll suit most tastes with options from almond, coconut, rice milk and others. And the food - Ive tried their daily pastry selections, and theyre all worth a try, but I am in married love with their waffles!!! White or wheat, with or without blueberries or nuts, topped with vegan butter and syrup, these things are always made to perfection! A must have every time!

Everyone is super sweet, the vegan desserts are great, and the coffee is good. Just be wary if youre a tea drinker. Only some of the staff know how to make a tea steamer (which is like the easiest drink ever) and instead of the staff asking me for more details or saying they just dont know what it is, Ive had some real misses (like someone steeped my tea in the steamed milk instead of water type miss). This is the place to be for coffee, especially cold brew. They have vegan bakery items and dairy free ice cream (coconut based) and lots of creamer options. Lactose intolerant? Check. Vegan? Check. Vegetarian? Check. I’m not any of those but it’s still delicious. The atmosphere is chill. Usually good music playing but not so loud that you can’t use your headphones. Seating is okay, more for skinny people but the tables and outer chairs move so it can accommodate a bigger person. The best for last; cold brew!! They use coffee ice cubes so when it melts (if you’re a slow drinker like me) your coffee doesn’t get watered down as much. And if you’re a fast drinker, wait a bit and boom for just a bit more coffee! The baristas are very friendly and also practicing vegans. Not sure if they all are but I remember having a conversation with one of them. It was mentioned that they prefer to hire practicing vegans or something (don’t quote me!) as they know how important it is to be able to not only relate to the customers but take care of the bar in a way that doesn’t cross contaminate and be serious about it.That to me shows true care and concern for all people involved.Support locals!

Delectable, wonderful, and a great addition to this area of Austin. I was so sad to hear earlier this year that the owner had passed away and that the fate of the shop was in jeopardy. However, they are open and thriving, so it seems like someone took over the shop. For vegans (not me, but sometimes), they have an excellent selection of vegan baked goods, vegan coffee options, and vegan ice cream. Ive tried most of it, and you might not ever know that its vegan. The ice cream is particularly delicious. The non-vegan ice cream (from a company in San Francisco) is also bomb. Particularly the brownie batter fudge! It haunts my dreams. For the coffee lover, their menu is extensive and contains options most other shops dont have. And the employees have great expertise in their craft. Aside from the expertise, they beans they use are top notch as are all of the other ingredients - leading to some truly excellent coffee. The parking situation in this center (Black Star, Fuzzys, etc) is pretty terrible, so be patient and remember that the garage has multiple levels.

I know its just book and 100% my fault for leaving it behind but their social media said they would open up on January 11 and I called and messaged them once again to double check and Im sitting here and they are once again not opened. I went here for the vegan snacks and ice cream. The food was okay, but the service was a problem. The time I was there, there were 4 servers and 11 customers. But they acted like they were too busy to take the time for us. When we were ready to order, we waited to be acknowledged for about 10 minutes before realizing we were at the wrong counter to order. My friend commented that they were like robots because they completely ignored us until we went and stood in the right spot. Then, they took several minutes to bring out each of our items one by one: my friends ice cream, then 10 minutes later our dessert, and then finally my ice cream. By the time my ice cream came out her it was already partially melted, and then they served me the wrong size. I ordered a medium and they served me a small. When I told them their error, they corrected it but loudly commented that I had paid for a small. It just made eating the desert a lot less pleasant when we were waiting so long for it and when they were so rude. The worst part was, they ask for the tip when you pay. So I had already provided them with a tip before I realized how poor the service would be.
