Nice little hole in the wall comic shop. They had amazing product & friendly staff. It was nice to see they hold drafts and tourneys for trading cards games. Definitely recommend to check them out, I will totally be going back.

Everyone in this store is educated on whatever you’re there for, upcoming sets, previous sets, and understand the cards/comic/novelties they sell. I primarily go for Magic the Gathering but in those instances I can hear other customers walk in asking about an upcoming product, they’re met with quick and concise answers as to when they will be there and their favorite part of that upcoming set. The level of enthusiasm as well as professionalism lends this to being the best card shop I have been to in Austin. Tucked away in a strip mall in a gem of a shop with great product at a reasonable price, and employees that make you want to stay as long as you can. In times like we are in now, I don’t have tons of disposable income or the ability to go out in public often, but a trip here is well worth the time. Staff is great of safety and sanitizing. My patronage will be in this store alone from now on, the slight cost increase compared to major online retailers is the least of my concern when you can walk into a place and feel you have found community. If you couldn’t tell by now, you NEED to go.

I have been going to Juniors Comics for years. I dont go as often as I used to, but its my go to spot, when I do need something. (Friends and I used to play Yu-Gi-Oh, a long time ago.) Great owner and great little shop. They always have what I need, and if they dont, they can order it. (I may forget to pick it up sometimes!) If you havent gone, you should go.

Tried to sell mint condition rare cards from my binder which contains over $2,000 in pokemon and yugioh cards,i had to wait 30 minutes for a certain person to get there!!! Then the old oriental lady said that she would not buy any because shes only looking for original 1998 cards,I showed her mine and she said she had too many, just not in mint condition like mine.so do not go here unless you want to waste your time!!!

Dawn was very inviting and welcoming. We chatted about Al Pacino in “The Devil’s Advocate,” And Image comics’, “Sex Criminals.” 3 Magic the Gathering packs for $10 is an excellent deal. I also picked up some foil Constellation lands and a Lotus Field. Wonderful shop. I’ll be by everytime that I’m in Austin.

The shop very much emulates that old school Austin vibe. At first look, Henry (the shop owner) may look intimidating because of his build, but he is a really great guy and is willing to help out in whatever way he can. The group of Magic players that trade there are also very friendly and welcome anybody, old or new to the game!

Ive been to every comic store in Austin. If I were to describe this store in one word it would be outstanding. Yes the place is small but the customer service was amazing! They were extremely helpful and friendly! There was an item that I wanted to purchase a few days ago and the owner was going to get out of his way after store hours to go grab the item I wanted to purchase stored at a different location. This is a family owned business and a taste of what Austin truly is. They even carried inventory other locations didnt! Thank you Juniors Comic & Cards!

Owner is really nice. As a collector I was concerned that new issues that had not even been put on the shelves and were laying on a table were already damaged. And comics on the shelves were hard to get out because the lip on the shelf and the distance between shelves. This was my first visit to a store since moving to Austin.

Store owners name is Henry. Hes been there with is pop for over 20 years. Comics is his main thing and he works hard to get to conventions and back. He also hosts tournaments for all the popular card games. Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragonball Z, Vanguard. Hes friendly, he looks intimidating, but he will definitely point you in the right direction if he doesnt have what you may need. He gives some of the best and fair prices for buying and selling cards.

Stopped here on vacation! I had a great time, they had lots of unique things in the store including Kaijudo, one of my favorite card games that no one plays anymore. The owner gave me 2 Kaijudo starter decks so I could teach my boyfriend. We would eventually like to visit during a real event!

This is the Dive Bar of Austin Magic Card Shops. Its small but its been around forever and the owner, Henry, is a super chill dude. I learned to play Magic competitively and Booster Draft at this shop over 10 years ago and its still just as fun to play there now as it was back then! They also have a pretty cool comic book selection!

Let me start with my disclaimer before I talk about this particular shop. Ive been to many different shops from Iowa college towns to the greatest New York/NJ has to offer. This is not my first rodeo and Im not a 10 year old who is on his first comic shop experience and trying to talk up the place he likes to hang out on the weekends. That being said...This shop is best described as an amateur to novices basement that was moved into a space and then called a comic shop after his mom kicked him out of the house. I know these are not kind words but between the dirtiness and the unorganized nature of the shop I would actually put that as a compliment. The comic selection is abysmal at best, the collection of figures is disjointed and all over the map, the cards are not in sleeves or marked with any prices, and the overall cleanliness of the store says that someone could use a few lessons in general shop keeping and the power of lysol. The only positive I would give this shop is that it does have a nice group that gathers on Saturdays for tournaments and I appreciate any shop that can organize for the community of card players and collectors. If your a serious collector or even a new starter dont choose this store for its selection or variety, just go to it if your looking for some interesting local tournaments.

A comic shop for readers, not collectors. This shop left me wanting for customer service, organization, fresh air, product care, and subject matter expertise. I would not recommend a visit.

Review №39

Definitely not worth a trip back for me; I had only checked it out because I had been in the area and thought they might have a new issue I needed. The selection is small yet at the same time that small selection is very disorganized. The shop is very small and cramped and cluttered. The atmosphere was pretty uncomfortable. I left with no purchases when they didnt have a somewhat recent comic that should have been readily in stock.

I found Junior Comic and Cards about a month ago and have been taking my brother there every other week because he likes to collect Pokémon cards. My brother has a mental disability so when we usually go there it gives me joy to see face light up when he sees something he likes. On Sunday October 17th 2021 I went to Junior Comic and Cards and felt embarrassed that worker there accused us of stealing worthless cards. After I showed him where the cards where I walked away with my brother. Never returning. If I could I would give it negative stars.
