Absolutely my favorite place to shop in Austin period the selection is amazing comma the prices are great comma and the customer service is really exceptional. Even on the rare occasions where I wanted something that wasnt in stock already they have been willing to jump through hoops to get it for me as quickly as possible. I cannot recommend them enough.

Place is chock full of awesome board games to browse. You can even check their website ahead of time to see prices and what is in stock (an inventory system that seems rare for board games shops for some reason).The best part - the prices regularly beat Amazon and any other retailer! I was shocked! Typically I search the game on Amazon to see if its worth paying whatever markup to support a local business, but Ive yet to see a game that was more expensive here than Amazon, and in fact, more often than not it beats Amazon or at worst matches. Makes me feel great shopping here. Limited interaction with the owner/workers, but solid so far, seemed knowledgeable.

This place has a huge selection of games. Many game store Ive been to focus a lot on the D&D/RPG side of things, which is cool, but often dont have much stock of other types of games. This place has so many games you can barely walk around. Ive been here a couple of times and the staff has always been very friendly and helpful too.

The customer service here is outstanding! There was an issue with my order and Chris was very transparent and worked hard to resolve the issue! I am not from Austin but will be sure to make my way over to The Gaming Goat for a visit the next time I am down. 5/5 one of the best stores I have ever shopped at!

Super cool board game store! I have an extensive board game collection at home and love to add more pieces to this collection. Most tabletop stores I have visited focus on role playing games like D&D and have a small portion dedicated to other games, however, this store is far from this. Although they do have an extensive role playing game section, they have an ample amount of board games! I loved the selection of different board games ranging from one player to multiple players, card games to full on set ups, etc. My only complaint is that the board games were a little dusty. I highway recommend if you’re into tabletop games!

This place is amazing! They almost always have whatever weird game Im looking for on hand, and can always order it in if they dont have it. I love going here and seeing whats new, and they always have a great variety from family style to super crunchy Euros. Super knowledgeable staff as well that dont hesitate to help you find what you need. My wife and I have managed to survive cabin fever thanks to them!

This game store goes the extra mile and a half for its customers. They are in their own class when it comes to game stores and you can really tell how much they care about what they do.

Chris (owner) is the nicest guy you will ever meet. My sons have been getting really into trading cards lately. We visited and my son is usually pretty shy but he opened right up to him. The best spot to buy board games in Austin.Excellent selection and prices!

I needed an anniversary gift and I wanted to stick with the traditional list of metal and gems. For the person who needs no more possessions in their life but requires entertainment, a board game would do the trick! The owner suggested Time Stories along with an expansion that offered gems and precious metals. Wow, did this go over well. My darling loved this game. Calling the store in the morning to order more expansions. I want to spend all my moneies here from here on out!

I love this place! I always spend too much! All the staff Ive met are amazing and knowledgeable. The ONLY thing that could make this place better would be if they could give me a how to play every game I buy there in 10 minutes or less!Bought Gloomhaven; Jaws of the Lion there, the Targi expansion and a couple smaller games, one being Cat Rescue, recommended by the employee. My girls loved it and we played twice today!

The store is lovely and has a wide selection of games. Their online inventory is up to date on stock and the ordering process was so easy. The shop owner is so kind and helpful! I messaged their Facebook to ask questions about the ordering process and they verified they had the games I wanted in stock. I ordered online and my order was ready for pickup in 10 minutes (or less, even). Lightening fast! When we got to the store there was the option for curbside pickup. Our items were brought out to a chair at our vehicle where we could pick them up no contact. Everything in our order was correct and we were on our way in less than 5 minutes. Im so impressed with the store, the staff, and my overall experience. I would highly recommend you check this store out!

Ive been to a lot of gaming stores, and although this one doesnt have an area to test or play games, the selection and pricing more than make up for it. While this store does have tcgs and collectable games, it seems to have more of a focus on standalone games and their expansions. Guaranteed to have an enjoyable game for anyone.

This place popped into my search results when my friends and I were looking for Terraforming Mars expansión packs and couldn’t find them anywhere online! Gaming Goat not only had them in stock but the online store and curbside pickup was well organized and well facilitated. I enjoyed my purchasing experience here and can not wait to come back and buy more.

Great store with amazing prices. My girlfriend and I are starting to play Keyforge, and the owner took the time to explain the basics of the game. Then another staff member gave us a second set of decks for free so we could enjoy the game even more. I highly recommend this store!

We recently visited the shopping center and were delighted to find it thriving. Thats where we discovered The Gaming Goat - this wonderful board game shop. I was lured in after seeing Machi Koro in the window, then walked out with four games, came back with a friend, and I ended up with one more. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable and very willing to talk with each customer. The selection was great, and I feel their prices are better than Dragons Lair. I think Ive found my new game store.

Big fan of this new store. Their prices are competitive with the online retailers, they can easily order things that are harder to find in store. Owner was really nice and easy to work with. They also run gaming night throughout the week. If youre into board games, this store is worth checking out.

This might be the game store I’ve been waiting for. Great selection, free gaming library, and very welcoming of families with well mannered kids. Staff were friendly and open to questions. My husband, 10 yr old son and I stayed about 90 minutes playing their library games. We’ve done this twice now. Some game stores we’ve tried haven’t been overtly friendly to newcomers, especially older gamers with kids. But here we never felt rushed to wrap it up and other customers came over and chatted us up. Even though it’s new, it already has a good vibe and feels like a community. And their game pricing was some of the most reasonable I’ve seen in the area, and is comparable or even beats Amazon!

A great store and one that I hope sticks around for a while. Super competitive pricing, and very friendly staff. To small nicks I have against it:1) The rest of the shopping center closes by nine. This is by no means the fault of the store, but if you want to do other things in the area the same night as a game night, it can be a little tough.2) The amount of gaming space has become a bit small for how many people show up. But hey, that just tells you how many people want to play here!

This store was clean, the staff was friendly, and they had dozens of demo games to play. So definitely go to them again. NOTE that they are definitely more of a board game store than cards or tabletop miniature games store. Quite a selection of classic board games as well as some niche stuff.

Great store, friendly ownership and competitive prices. They sell at 20-30 off MSRP, depending on the price of the game. Another good addition to Austins gaming scene. Lots of demos, but table space can be tough to come by at popular times.

Strange name, great store!I recently visited The Gaming Goat in search of a copy of Tokaido, which none of the many other stores in town had. Not only did they have the game I was looking for, it was at a great price - about $8 cheaper than msrp. I had seen the store before, but hadn’t given it much thought because it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but their good selection, good prices, and knowledgeable staff will definitely bring me back to shop there again in the future.

Great game store. The vast majority of shelf space is devoted to board games and the selection is huge. Best Ive seen in town. They do have some rpg stuff for d&d and Pathfinder. Prices seem pretty good. There is some play space as well.
