My 19 y/o daughter saw Dr Winegar because she had developed a muffled sound in her left ear. The staff at the clinic were very nice and she was able to get an appointment the same week we called. I accompanied her to the Austin ENT Clinic and she saw Dr Winegar, who was very friendly, professional, thorough in his diagnosis, and compassionate when he noticed my daughter was a bit apprehensive. He took care of her medical needs perfectly and has a caring bedside manner. Highly recommend him and this clinic, and we will be returning should we have need in the future.

Dr. Winegar has provided me with excellent care both during in-office visits as well as with more serious surgical treatment. I would recommend him highly based on both the way he treated me as a person as well as the knowledge and skill with which he practices medicine. His nurse, Ms. Vega is also friendly, capable, and a pleasure to work with.

I experienced sudden hearing loss in one ear. Dr. Winegar was great at explaining what needed to be done. He was patient and empathetic to my concerns. In the end I needed the help of another physician for surgery and it all turned out good. Dr. Winegar took the time to meet with me and the surgeon which I considered going above and beyond his duties.

Front desk staff and audiologist were super nice and friendly. They gave thorough instruction and recommendations with a smile on their face. Unfortunately I will never go back to this clinic due to the lack luster care of the Physician. I have a great respect for health care and a majority of my family works in healthcare, and to be honest I have never given a poor review of a physician until now. He was extremely dismissive about the issue at hand and didn’t really give much advice. I wouldn’t be going to an ENT if something wasn’t wrong. The only recommendation was that I follow up with a neurologist, which even that, he did not seem to care nor believe how awful I have been feeling. Try feeling like you are on a boat every day for 2 weeks and have a Dr almost mock you, and you also have to lead the conversation into what you think might be happening. I wouldn’t have been there if I knew what was going on. I hope no one else is treated this way, ever again at this clinic. Showing some compassion goes a long way.

Dr. Winegar and staff of AENT are exceptional medical professionals in all the years I have been their patient. From diligent attempts to identify the cause of sudden unilateral tinnitus and hearing loss, to administration of hearing aid evaluations, Dr. Winegar and audiologists provided reassuring and straightforward communication and care throughout the process. More recently, they went above and beyond in coordinating COVID vaccinations at their clinic with the same diligence and attention to detail. Whereas countless people in the state have struggled in the roll out of the vaccine, this was not an issue at AENT. On the contrary, the process was patient oriented with regard to good communication, safety for patients and providers, and timeliness getting vaccinations scheduled and administered. My husband Ricardo has had similar experiences with another physician in this practice, Dr. Eskew. Austin Ear, Nose and Throat Clinics provide essential professional and attentive care to their patients while emphasizing patient education in the details of their medical needs. Thank you,Austin Ear Nose and Throat Clinic.Elsa Wirsching-Guimbarda

I would not even give one star if there was an opt-out; let me tell you why. Eleven years ago I suffered an injury to my nose that required surgery. The surgery itself went fine, but when I went for my post-op check, the doctor said everything healed fine. But I felt something on the inside tip of my left nostril and pointed it out to the doctor. He looked at it, and his whole demeanor changed....The deal was that he used sutures that dissolve. Some people are prone a reaction to the foreign materials. This is NOT an allergic reaction, but an immune response resulting excessive production of sebum (probably because the nose is a very sebaceous area of the body). What he saw when he looked at the area I pointed out was an accumulation of sebum that had traveled from the bridge of my nose down into the nostrils. Because this side effect was left untreated, the sebum continued to travel throughout my entire body. The result was horrific lesions on my face, and eventually my arms. They have happened everywhere, but the face and arms were the worst. These lesions are particularly unsightly, painful and itchy. They take MONTHS to heal. I have suffered for 11 years now. I went to various dermatologists and my family doc, but no one knew what it was. I finally found out at 10 years in, and it has taken a year to get close to healing. So my complaint is centered around a doctor who PURPOSEFULLY ignored a side effect of the sutures, either because he didnt know or didnt want to deal with it. This is simply inexcusable conduct. As a result of my experience, I cannot possibly recommend anyone use this practice. So sorry, NOT sorry. My physical self has suffered greatly, and I cannot begin to describe to emotional turmoil. I was practically a hermit the whole time, quit my job, suffered anxiety and depression.....the list goes on. Not to mention the financial suffering from quitting work, purchasing endless products, prescriptions, none of which was helpful because the diagnosis was so elusive. If that doctor had only done the ethical and responsible thing-----face up to it and help me find a solution.

Dr Winiger is one of my favorite doctors. Chairside rapport, tops! Staff wonderful! Office impeccably clean. Waiting areas but they even provide coffee, Keurig s for your sipping pleasure. They even offer snack s. And a little history museum on music right inside the waiting room. What a neat little idea.Dr winegar, ear nose and throat specialist, have had numerous procedures, signuplasty, and any other ear nose and throat issues. Dr Winiger is very conscientious about how you are treated while you were in his office. He will not hurt you! Rest assured. One of the coolest doctors Ive ever met. And Ive a lot of them. State of the art optical surgical stuff. Making his job a lot easier. Do check them out if the need arises. These guys are the best!

I was calling to set up an appointment for my 97 year old mother today, June 29th and I pressed option 2 to set up the appointment. The appointment scheduler who answered the phone was not very nice. Very abrupt and seemed like she was just in a hurry to ask the questions and get off the phone. I didnt feel any warmth or kindness in her voice at all. Made me feel very put off. She needed my moms Medicaid number to book the appointment which I did not have right then. I wont be calling back to finish scheduling my moms appointment after that interaction. I didnt feel like this was the right office to take my mom too after all. First impressions are everything. Maybe have someone who has a more pleasant demeanor answearing the phones.
