Thank you guys.I also am very pleased with the rhino rack mounted on my ARE HD camper shell crossbars for my Bundatop rooftop tent to be mounted on...turned out to be a perfect fit for the required dimensions of the Bundatop. Brian at Rack Attack was so helpful! I had lost the key to my Yakima roof rack. Brian successfully identified the key, but he didnt have a replacement key in stock to sell to me. So he helped me unlock the towers to take the rack down. From there, I was able to dismantle it on my own. Once I figure out what I want to do next with my roof setup, I will be back at Rack Attack.

I needed a tow package to pull a U-Haul Cargo Trailer 1,200 miles. Brian was fantastic! He made every effort to try and figure out what I needed, but his co workers were unable to help or confirm with any assurance that I was getting the right parts for my vehicle.iI was flat out told that they could not provide me with any assurance. After I paid over $360 for parts that Rack Attack could not and would not confirm as correct for my vehicle, I read that the store has a no return policy on tow packages and after I paid for what I was told may be correct, I read the non return policy. Why would I risk so much money without assurance from Rack Attack that what we ordered was correct?. The $360 paid did not include the $200 fee to attach the tow kit to my car. Besides Brians valiant effort to get it right. The rest of the staff was content not to know the answers. If you go to Rack Attack, seek out Brian. Nobody else seems to care for the customer or thier employer.

These guys are the best! Its tempting to try and piece all this rack stuff together on online retailers that rhyme with ... Blamazon ..., but its worth it to go in and see stuff in person and talk to a knowledgeable sales person. Dont fall prey to the big box stores that only carry 1 brand.Also you might read a couple of negative reviews below. Take a look at the dates... theres been a little thing called the COVID pandemic! A bunch of people who didnt want to wear a mask amazed that it was hard to get things and their showroom might not be open... SHOCKER people were dying out here guys, nobody wants to die so you can put a ladder on your Land Rover.They also have a really cute shop dog! ADOPT DONT SHOP!!! Thanks yall.

These guys know their stuff, my kayak rack fits perfect! When the rack I originally ordered was taking a long time with all the Covid delays, John went the extra mile and found me something comparable that I could get sooner. They are very responsive to messages/emails. I live in NY, a long way from Texas, we installed this ourselves with the detailed instructions they provided in a little over an hour. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends!

Drove up there from SA since they’re the closest iKamper retailer. I was in and out quick with their installation. Their showroom is also really nice.

I ordered roof racks for my car about 2 months ago. The hardware for them came stored inside of the rack and is stuck inside so I contacted the company about replacing the hardware needed for installation. They told me on June 8, “we will get those out to you right away.” I contacted them again on June 16th asking if they had any tracking information for the replacements and they told me that there was a delay and that I wouldn’t be receiving the replacement parts until “early July.” I contacted them again on July 16th and have yet to hear back. It’s July 26th and I still am not able to use a product I spent almost $500 on and it is past the point where I can return the product to the company.Edit- I have since gotten in contact with the company and received a replacement part for my roof racks. The manager of their Austin store was very helpful in getting this situation resolved.

This place has really poor customer service. Showrooms closed and they will not answer your phone calls. They make you email them and communicate only by email. I drove up there just check on something cause Im in a hurry to go on a trip and the employee would not help me. He told me to email him and he would answer my question by email.. I was standing right there...If you looking for good customer service in someone who will take care of you you need to not go to this store.

I wanted a roof rack on my 2019 Outback before my move out of state. I am a member of REI and actually called them first but couldnt get them on the phone. After multiple attempts I called Rack Outfitters who picked up right away, confirmed their inventory had what I wanted and provided directions. After arriving they installed for me within 15 minutes and were even kind enough to recommend good straps for my rack. I even asked them to teach me how to use said straps and after installation was complete they took the extra 5 minutes to show me how to secure my own fuel can on the rack.Kind, competent professionals who deserve your business.

Rack Outfitters had one in stock, but I needed to verify that it wasnt on back order, I also needed to know how long it would take them to ship. I emailed them and received an answer almost immediately. I had several follow-up questions and they responded just as quickly. They shipped the item within minutes of receiving the order, since they knew I was anxious to get it. I was very impressed with the personal customer service I received. I will continue purchasing from them.

Not only was my roof rack/kayak attachment order over a month late, but when the shipment finally came it was missing one of the vertical bars. Because of this, I missed out on a family kayaking trip.Company refused to pay for return shipping despite this complete lack of communication and failure to deliver the full product that was ordered in a reasonable timeframe.Do yourselves a favor and dont do business with this company.To the owners of this company: I will consider taking down the review if I get reimbursed the $100 in return shipping costs I had to pay out of my own pocket.

I purchased a Thule Aeroblade kit but Thule packaged the wrong part. I contacted Rack Outfitters and told them the problem. They took it from there and worked with Thule to get me the correct part. It took some time to get the replacement part thanks Covid, but the rep I worked with was really responsive, honest and upfront about the status. I would absolutely buy from them again.

These guys are incredibly knowledgeable and have amazing service! I had a problem with a third party roof rack that I bought from them and was doing the installation on. They provided full support to help me get the job done when I ran into problems.

Very unimpressed with this company. We wanted a rooftop tent but we wanted some information before buying about which one would fit our vehicle and what we needed for it. It was impossible to get a hold of anyone. I understand the store is closed due to Covid-19 but they didn’t even have people answering the phones and no one ever got back to an email I sent trying to get information. We were ready to spend the money but they definitely lost our business.

Because of covid, they are not open to do roof rack installation. However, they were very prompt in responding to my message, suggested a product that fits my car, and shipped it right away. I was also able to find their YouTube channel for an installation instruction. Thank you!

Hours said open till 6pm, they were closed. Drive an hour because they dont answer their phone or respond to the emails you send at their request on their voicemail. Too bad really, I was planning to spend a boat load of money and really needed what they have.

What a disappointment. on June 1, we checked rack outfitters website in advance of making the 40 mile trip to downtown Austin to buy a new e bike rack.After confirming at their website online they would open at 10 oclock we went there only to find a note on the door saying they were only doing online business.We found another prospective customer looking in the window at the staff who refused to acknowledge us outside, and who did not answer their telephone.This guy explained he had traveled from San Antonio after unsuccessfully trying to call them for a week. He explained he had intended to by a several thousand dollar rack for his truck.We had thought it would be better to buy our rack locally.We have now learned you Will do better buying at Amazon, which has a good return policy.

Customer service is seriously lacking. Have been calling since last week and today to only have my call go strait to nothing. Not even able to leave a message. (I looked through the window and three people where just sitting there keeping a seat warm). Also sent two emails with no response.The website says nothing about being closed so I drove up from San Antonio to spend about seven thousand dollars. Door is locked, guys just sitting there pretending not to see you with a note on the window that they are closed and you must call to place an order. Older couple pulls up next to me and went through the same. Unfortunately they drove up from Three Rivers to get nothing.Ended up having to go to four wheel parts which has always had the worst service but even worst service is some type of service

Let me start by saying that I rarely complain online. This would have been my third rack from Rack Outfitters. My first experience with them was awesome. They do things other places cant or wont. Well, I guess they know it now because customer service keeps going downhill. They dont have to treat you well. The last time was an overall positive experience but I still kind of felt like they were annoyed by me having them build out several quotes. I just needed to compare and they are the experts and carry a bunch of different brands. I dont think that is a lot to ask. This time I called them and then was told to send an email with some info they needed. The email they returned didnt have the quotes I was asking about. They just sent links to the manufacturers websites and never answered all of the questions I had. I replied to that email and there was no response so I called at the end of the day and got a different person on the phone that acted annoyed. He built out some basic quotes for me and then I had to add the additional equipment I was going to buy by going to their website and looking it up. He was acting like I was bothering him so I just did it myself. Really? I ending up calling this morning twice and there was no answer so I left a message. Guess what? They never called me back so now I am done. I was going to have them drill my roof and permanently install a rack but now I am buying a clamp on style online and just putting it together myself. Thanks so much for your prompt service Rack Outfitters.

We had a great experience with the Rack Outfitters team today. Everyone was super knowledgeable, answering every question I threw at them. Shopping for roof boxes is tough. Most stores only have a handful of boxes available, and very rarely do they let you take them out of the store to test fit it on your car. These guys were the opposite - large selection and let you try them all on your car right there and then! Its much easier to make an informed decisions when its right there on your car. Would highly recommend going here!

These guys gave me great service on a purchase made last fall. A purchase I left in the box until recently and figured out there were a few manufacturer defects. They worked with me and the manufacturer and both parties did right by me. Would absolutely give them my business again.

These guys are awesome! I ordered a snowboard mount, but they had just ran out of them so they offered me a bike mount instead for almost the same price as the snowboard mount and then price matched it to Amazon. The communication over email was great and their customer service is just excellent! I really think their service in person can only get better. Thank you!

Even after finding that the racks wont fit through the garage, they were kind about providing return details so that I can get the unused merchandise back to them. Really love their store and their service. I started going to them when they had their smaller store on South Lamar, and now I love their larger store on Ben White. Both had drive in bays where you could drive your car in to have roof racks and other racks installed on your car. They have awesome products. And best, they provide warranty service (at least for Thule products, in my experience) and have repaired two small issues Ive had with Thule products over the years. I have bought cross bars, bike racks, a car-top cargo box and even a backpack / messenger bag. Great place with dedicated service.

Rack Outfitters has terrible customer service. They do not respond to email and their phones are effectively disconnected. I tried ordering a Tempui tent but ultimately had to cancel. I had to take my business to amazon unfortunately.

They have taken care of all racks, with accessories, for my vehicles. The staff is helpful and the owner is great. His videos on YouTube are really helpful when trying to make a decision.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I was looking for a wheel on bike rack to mount on my roof rails, they showed me the available options from 4 manufacturers and I was able to make the right decision for me. There were no high pressure sales tactics, just a pleasant experience with great customer service.

Need something rack related? Better call Paul. I did, and it was ten minutes before closing on a Friday evening and he totally saved my a$$. I was in a sticky situation with my Thule racks in WAY north Austin, and Paul saved the day from down south. These guys know what theyre doing.

My first visit I talked with a dark-haired medium build guy. He was super helpful and very professional. He recommended that I bring my bike in before buying a rack just to make sure I got a good fit. Two weeks later I came in. The first guy was not there. I talked with a reddish haired thinner guy. This guy tried to sell me a test fit and he told me there is a $30 installation fee because of our time and we have to unpack the box. Really? $30 for a simple install? No thanks. I wish the first guy had been there today. Im picking up my new rack tomorrow from another store.

Got a bike rack for my Subaru here. The customer service was excellent and the installation was quick. Id come back here if I was adding another rack to my Subie. The pricing is a bit more than online, but if we dont buy from these little shops that cost 10 bucks more than online, we wont have little shops like these left.

Maybe check your system for a purchase by Andrew Thomson.Contacted the manufacturer direct and they were very prompt in replacing the item.I reiterate again - I would never go back here. Ordered a Rhino Rack and that was delivered quickly, but there was a broken part. I contacted Rack Outfitters for help replacing the part and they never responded or acknowledged the support request. I ended up going directly to Rhino Rack and got excellent support. Would never purchase from Rack Outfitters again.

Saved our Vacation !!A brand new Saris Freedom 4 rack broke 3 hours into our trip to Colorado. The failure was in the rack lowering mechanism, rendering our hatch-back non usable for the trip.We searched the bike shops in the area and Mellow Johnnys referred us to Rack Outfitters.We pulled in and explained our dilemma, within 40 minutes we were back on the road with a KuAt Transfer rack.Not only did the owner recommend a less expensive rack than we came in with...He removed the broken rack, packaged it and shipped it to our home in the Houston area for what I consider a reasonable price !!Im in the customer service industry, people that do business like this are getting harder to find every day.If and when I need a rack or accessory going forward this will be my Go-To shop.

He then proceeded to accuse me of purposely buying to use for the weekend... After I told him I was there to upgrade. What an A $$ hole! Ive spent $1200 here before. He even let me pull my vehicle into his garage and mount multiple options to check them out, all with a smile on his face. I cant give this guy enough credit. His expertise of the Thule line is second to none. There is no way I would be able to choose a carrier without being able to see them in person, and Pauls in house selection is by far the best in Austin. I did all my research online ahead of time, and his pricing was directly on par with his competitors so there was no worries there.Parking was kind of a snaggle, hit or miss but then again its downtown so what do you expect...
