Nice local sports store. At times they will have some great sales. Down side is they are small so at times they may not have what you need so you have to look somewhere else. They also offer military discounts too!

I dont know why. It had been probably 15 years since I stepped foot in a Big 5 location, but Ive been to this one at least 10 times in the last 6 months and have had a good experience each time.But the thing that sets this place apart is the older gentleman that works in the shoes department. This guy was awesome with my 5 year old son getting his soccer cleats. He really set an impression with my son because the next time we went in my son wanted to go and say hello to him.Good job!!!

The asst manager Harvey, and his crew showed great customer service. I recommend this store for what you are looking for. I’ll continue to purchase any sporting equipment from this store. These people definitely deserve something in return for having great customer service.

5 employees standing around = no service unless you ask for it and theyre not happy about providing it. Expect the same experience each time you have to go ask for help again because they dont stick around to make sure youre good...they have more important things to do like talk to one another. Store is smaller but I did find what I needed. Spent $100 for no service, 2 pairs of soccer socks, 1 pair of shorts, a water bottle and had to beg for service.

I always find great deals everytime I shop in the store. Found a 3 person tent for under 30.00 and other great sutff.

So I purchased two raquetball gloves on 8/25. One was right one was left. What should have been a simple exchange turned into a fiasco. I had a receipt in my hand. The problem? One was right hand one was left. I needed two rights. Simple enough? Nope because the cashier scanned the right hand glove twice when I checked out, the left wasn’t on the receipt. Now anyone with an IQ higher than Forrest Gump would have simply performed the exchange I wasn’t asking for a refund.I will never shop at big 5 again.The assistant manager Harvey Courothers has zero customer service skills.I’m Monday 8/26 I will be speaking to the corporate offices and will make it my mission in life to have his employment terminated. Big 5 will never get one nickel of my money ever again.

Brian was a very helpful guide, everyone in the store was ready to help. Went there for what was needed, and got more than what I needed...and wanted more!! 😌 very good people here, they recommend a local bike shop, I couldnt ask for more from a customer service point of view.

Big 5 on Dysart usually has the best prices on sporting equipment. I visit the location frequently and the service is very good. Ivan in particular went out of his way to search for some baseball items while helping two other customers and even called another Big 5 to search for the item. Go there first if you are looking for sporting goods.

Just wanted to point out the excellent customer service I had on Saturday, the young lady with a butterfly tattoo on her arm was extremely pleasant, her attention to detail, communication and even her smile will brighten anyones day! I wouldnt hesitate to tell my friends and family to shop at Big 5 because of her. Id say find that girl with the butterfly tattoo. Need a bat, ask the girl with the butterfly tattoo. need a ball, butterfly tattoo. Like to fish, again girl with the butterfly tattoo. HECK Im getting a butterfly tattoo just because of the girl with the butterfly tattoo. Butterfly tattoo girl, you deserve a raise!

Poor customer service from the cashier up front, did not get her name but, she had a distinct tattoo of a butterfly on her arm. I asked a question regarding the of price for some leggings and explained about the sign being misleading. She gave horrible attitude to me which is uncalled for. The signs must be fixed along with the cashiers attitude.

Im not the type that complains but disappointed that i had to drive 30 mins for an item they wouldn’t sell me, won’t be shopping at this big 5 again.

I wanted to Big 5 to get some baseballpants they have an extremely amount of sporting Good material crammed into a very small store. They have just about everything you need for just about every sport there is. But there is a lot of merchandise also, the sales personnel are extremely helpful. I got what I wanted at the store and they were extremely helpful and what I needed. Thank you big 5.

This place has amazing customer service. I bought a punching bag from here and it broke one month later. I went back to get it replaced and the guys were super helpful and friendly, didnt give me a hard time, they actually were there joking with me about it while they got it replaced. The staff here went well beyond to give me great customer service. I will definitely come back.

You wont always find what you want but youll find what you need at Big-5. Good sales prices but quantities usually limited. Workers have always been helpful.

Although masks are required the little short blonde girl at the door was the most rudest person. She had a big attitude. We decided to buy online. She made them lose a 100.00 sale which businesses need right now. She dont realize that when Big 5 loses a customer she could lowe her job.

BIG 5 in Avondale is well stocked and has revolving deals weekly. Everything you could ask for including niche sports equipment from boxing to swimming. Theyve got a little bit of everything here. The staff is friendly and helpful. Prices comparable to online prices is a bit on the high side. Look out for those deals and scoop up the items you need when they come around.

No frills sporting goods store. They pack a ton of name brand stuff in this tiny storefront. The service I received was fantastic. And they give a military discount. Definitely will go here over Dicks or Academy.

The store was clean, organized, and seemed a littlemoreopen than other Big 5s Ive visited. Items were easy to find and a sales clerk was still very helpful with my shopping.

I went to get work shoes and asked for help. They man helped.me quickly but couldnt offer much advice on the shoes. He did say that one brand was more sought after than the other. Thats how I made my decision. The cashier was friendly and asked how the shoes feel. I wore them out of the store. Great experience overall.

The security guy follows you around the store telling you to pull up you mask when it slides down a little. It’s so ridiculous. This has happened to us more than once. We will never shop there.

I wasnt very impressed with customer service today. It was obvious we needed help and had to ask for two different things from the young kid walking around. Their foot measurement tool made no sense on a childs foot so we quit trying to figure it out since we had to ask for help twice already. The items we purchased from the child sections were decent except the socks were expensive. I gave 4 stars because the cashier was super friendly & we got the military discount.

Its a busy store. Sales are great and the staff is very friendly and efficient. Does not matter how many people are in there, things move smoothly. Shout out to the shoe department!

Bought some great running shoes here (Denali brand) at a good price but staff was few and hard to find, store is jam packed with equipment. Also this store has opted to not sell handguns or sporting rifles, mostly air powered or small caliber rifles only.

Coulda been a top 5 star, but more of my fault looking for items out of season. Theu did have a wetsuit, didnt have the booties i needed, but did still have some great choices of goggles to chose from. Prices reasonable, but im sure the items needed would be better priced in season.
