I’m so glad to have finally go to Mantra Coffee! I live nearby, just across the river basin in Duarte and have been looking for a local/small business coffee shop to support. Mantra Coffee is that spot. The vibe inside is welcoming and colorful, with plenty of seating both inside and outside on their patio. I’ve only tried a vanilla latte and one of their special summertime drinks (cold brew with lemonade and lavender) but so far, everything has hit the spot. The menu includes the usual espresso drinks as well as tea and food (pastry) options. If you’re nearby, definitely worth stopping by! Maybe even to meet up with someone, catch up, or just to read or study.
First time visiting. So far I like everything about this shop. Its so cute. The patio area is amazing and the interior is classic. Justin was my barista, super nice and very helpful. I ordered the Dirty Chai, it was great. Dine in is available and its probably in my head, but just being there made my beverage tasted so much better.Paid another visit on 7/08/2021 and I ordered the lavender latte. Wow very tasty. Ive had this drink at another coffee shop with some disappointment, however I must say it was better than expected. Very impressive Mantra. It was a perfect blend of coffee and lavender. Very smooth and elegant, not strong at all. Daniel, my barista, also recommended the house blend. Wow! Amazing. Thanks Daniel love it!
They have the best mocha latte I’ve had to date.I’ve been on a mocha latte kick of late and love trying different coffees from different shops, specially those who also roast their own coffees, so I can confidently say that are a lot of third wave coffee places where the coffee and chocolate have flavor profiles that completely crash (because good coffee and good chocolate doesn’t necessarily equate to good mocha if you ignore their flavor profiles).I just came in to grab a mocha latte, so I can’t say too much about the ambiance other than it was really cute inside and seems to be a nice place to settle in with a friend to have a chat or work. The barista was also really nice too. It’s a bit out of the way for me usually, but I’ll be so happy to find my way back here again!
The CHAI TEA LATTES && SALTED CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES are honestly nothing short of AMAZING! I go here almost everyday with this same exact order. It’s that delicious! Not to mention the amazing staff and their customer service! Ding dong!
Beautiful interior design at this cafe! They have couches, tables, bar stools... it’s perfect for a business meeting, a group project, or a friendly get together! The food portions are extremely small but delicious. They also offer a wide variety of drinks. The service, although friendly, is unfortunately excessively slow, and some item mistakes. I recommend the tres leches sandwich with the exceptional tomato dipping sauce!
I really want to like this place because I like supporting local businesses in in my neighborhood however there are the little things that make it kind of difficult to want to keep coming back. The last time here they would not accept cash Ive never known a business to not accept American currency it seems kind of strange to me. I was told that they didnt have money in their drawer which just seemed kind of like bad business practice. However the coffee is decent and the atmosphere of the building is definitely unique.
Lovely local and friendly. Artisistic, eclectic and full of that je ne se quoi that makes it feel real. Get some great coffee, unique pastries, support a local artist or start a succulent garden while enjoying the ambiance and casual comfort of this hometown hidden gem.
DELICIOUS 😋 I went here and got an iced mocha with oat milk and its super good! U gotta try it
Passed by here after a long and early day of hiking in the mountains. Its garden-like front immediately caught my attention, and I decided to take a u turn and come back. Nicest coffee place in the neighborhood and its various seating arrangements (inside and outside) fits different crowd. Nice decor and super clean bathroom! This will always my go to place after each hiking trip!
An adorable location. Parking is horrible, but I guess what can you expect in Azusa (...ehm... yeah)? The staff was kind, the sitting area was open and the music wasn’t too loud. Decent drink selection, though I wasn’t impressed with the drip coffee ($3.78) or the pu’erh tea ($4.01) particularly (though I drink quite a bit of tea, so this might be unfair to have higher expectations). For the convenience and ambiance, it was fine!
Mantra is an adorable coffee shop that has amazing hours! My fiancé and I drive four cities away to visit as they are often open and welcoming. They have quite a few delicious drinks to try and we adore both the indoor and outdoor environment. I would suggest eating before coming or planning on just having a snack as their food portions are small and sometimes bland, especially for the price.
My favorite spot for coffee and good community. Always brings back the good memories from the best people at APU! Great coffee and tea too!
On my top 5 for southern California lattes, the seeded cookie was fantastic as well.
This cafe is so cute, cool atmosphere and the coffee and food afe great. Unfortunately, I will not be returning; I do not give my money to businesses that support anti-police organizations.
Coffee has a unique taste that separates itself from the commercialized Starbucks. And the service was really good as well. Dont forget to try there Cresents!!! the nutella and ham & cheese. Bake them at 375 for a bit there so much better.
They make good coffee I just wish they stood up to these absurd “regulations” that aren’t law that they can’t have outside patio open it doesn’t make sense virus isn’t airborne. Yet we can go to the mall where there is hundreds of people passing each other by and it’s fine it boggles my mind. Anyways I hope you guys reach your goal keep crushing guys and girls.
Great drinks, great service, great atmosphere! Loved it!!
Never overlook supporting local. Most of them dont have a drive thru or a mobile app to order ahead. But thats what gives local establishments their charm. And Mantra Coffee Company is a hidden gem that deserves support. Although, my muffin was dry, the latte was fantastic and the baristas singing voice was a the perfect burst of entertainment while waiting for my order. Never let hidden treasures pass you by.
I usually like this place. But honestly its overpriced. Also the food is never worth it, no matter how fancy it sounds. But sometimes you pay for atmosphere, and thats the best part of this place.
Lovely ambiance with comfortable seating inside and out. Spaces for studying or chatting with friends. I was with a group and everyone loved their coffees and lattes including a creme brulee special with caramelized sugar on top. I had a lovely loose-leaf black tea with a fruity undertone. Several ladies chose pastries and loved those too. Mantra Coffee Company is a must visit!
Nice selection of coffees, teas, and pastries with friendly service.
Ok coffee spot. Not too impressed.
This place oozes cuteness out of every corner! Very relaxing place for the laptop hipsters and local folk alike. They just happen to serve a damn good cup of coffee! Theres no bad seat inside or outside of the house (a literal one at that), and weve about tried them all. Parking is on the street in front or in the small lot behind. Mid-mornings really highlight the surrounding greenery, but local gigs are booked every weekend night. They have a small, but very good selection of homemade pastries as well!
Its a very relaxed, and open environment. Close to a college campus with a good variety of coffee. Parking is the worst part, but the drinks make up for it. They have a new glass only Togo that costs 2 bucks. If you come alot though, you get a discount. Id recommend coming if you want to get some school work or regular work. Overall, Ill come back and enjoy it. Cant go wrong with Mantra!
Decent coffee cool place nice staff hate the paper cups overall good place for studying
These guys are doing an exceptional job in the time of COVID. Thank you Mantra owner and employees! The coffee was fantastic as always. We had two breakfast burritos which were delicious. You place your order at the window around the side and then swipe your own card which is good. We did see two people try to order with no mask but they were turned away. I hope Mantra can weather this storm and that they can stay open in the future. Some of the best dang coffee in the SGV.
Great ambiance...friendly staff...Awesome Coffee!!
What an oasis. During these times it’s nice to find a safe little bit of peace. Friendly service and awesome vibe
Wish I had a cafe as cool as this place growing up in the area. Great coffee, chill workers and a fantastic spot to study or catch up with friends. Be careful of the jitters from the bottomless coffee (;
Coffee with purpose. This place donates 51% of proceeds. Its really good coffee, too. All of the drinks are high quality. With that, you can expect to pay more than some other places, but its pretty worth it. The ambiance is usually calm and peaceful. Outside, you can relax next to the fountain. Inside, you can kick back on the couches or chat across a table with some friends. You can also get some work done here, also.
One of my favorite places to go! My older sister takes me there every once in a while. Not once have i been dissatisfied with the service, food, or drinks! Keep up the good work👍🏻
Nice clean Cafe. Chai latte with oat milk is my favorite drink from here. Everything I have ordered from here have been delicious and tasty. That includes their croissants, bread, cookies, and donuts. Its a cozy place to hang out with friends and family. They also offer brunch now and it always smells delicious here. Definitely recommend you to try if you havent already done so!
Go to spot in Azusa for coffee. Their coffee is great! They have some yummy pastries as well...their almond croissants are my favorite. Teas are delicious they serve the Art of Tea!
Tasty Breakfast burrito and Tasty Hot coffee, service was delightful! thank you
The perfect place to chill relax and just enjoy the moment or study. The employees are welcoming and this location has great background music. Such a beautiful place with amazing food options and unlimited amount of coffee option after one purchase. At that unlimited amount of coffee is great for powering through study sessions.
This place is the best! I emailed them to see if they would help me ask my best friend to be my maid of honor and they were very helpful and had a fast response. The shop is so cute and the workers are nice. The food was excellent and best friend loved it! I had a good experience here.
Awesome spot. Some hot food and bakery items complement their refined coffee offerings. Tranquil outside seating or cozy indoor seating are available options.
Despite the Covid-19 going around the barista and the workers here are very kind. I cant imagine how great the service would be without the limitations that we are having right now.Now when it comes down to the actual coffee and tea, the quality and the taste is really good. Im a man of choices and thats what this Cafe have. They give you a lot of choices and you can modify your drinks.Would definitely come back for more once the Covid-19 settles down
Always a delicious/peaceful experience. Perfect for any chill occasion, especially a date(: I love it, my mother & father love it AND my grandmother thinks its just the cutest place. The social vibe there is refreshing, so are their drinks 😍
Great and cute spot for studying or working. Lots of tables and outlets to charge your laptop or phone. I would recommend!
I LOVE MANTRA!My fiancé and I come here often. Their lattes are works of art and their tea is like a hug in a mug. Customer service is always spot on, and the atmosphere is friendly, warm, all-inclusive, and welcoming. If you want an artisanal coffee shop experience that cares about their products just as much as they care about their customers, go to Mantra.
Very friendly coffee shop. Great for studying or hanging out with friends. Coffee and snacks are delicious. They also host local artists for live music every once in a while. Highly suggest giving this place a try if youre in the area.
I was really hopeful based on other reviews but Mantra fell short for me. The prices are high and the cups are usually half full. Also- every time I drink their coffee I get a horrible stomach ache and I have no idea why. I really like to support local shops, but this will be taken off the list. The atmosphere is pleasant though!
Mantra is a must-visit coffee shop if you’re in Azusa. Really cool vibe, homey feel, nice staff, and excellent coffee. They make great cups of coffee and I highly recommend it. Outdoor sitting area with fountain and heat lamps is super cozy on cool nights. Also a great place to meet friends! Check out their live music calendar too.
The coffee was decent! The server helped me refill my water 💦 for my biking
The staff was super friendly. The location was insanely alternative, as was the decor. Cold brew was really good. The chilaquiles we ordered were pretty good, decent size. Overall cool place to hang out and get work done, chat, study, or just have a nice brunch with coffee or tea. Only real issue was how packed it was. Get here early if you have plans to sit and work.
I always love coming here - the service is excellent, the coffee is superb and the house turned coffee shop is such a comforting feel. I love they now offer keto cookies - cause I hate going to a coffee shop and not being able to order anything I can’t eatKeep up the great work Mantra Team !
They Know How To Make Tea! I get the perfect cup, steamed, without a teabag! Sure it takes a minute or two longer, but totally worth it!! They Eclectic, Fun, Atmosphere Keeps You Happy And Gives Your Eyes Something Appealing To focus on while you wait! And Their Customer Service Is Awesome! ♥️♥️♥️🙏🏾🤸🏾♀️
Absolutely the cutest place in town. A charming house that give off a relaxing vibe. Great prices and unique bakery selection. drinks are made fast and staff is friendly. Great for people watching, ease dropping, and admiring the jade plants.
Pleasant atmosphere and it was always clean. Good pastries and their coffee was the best. Staffs were friendly and their service was excellent.
One of the better dirty chai drinks I’ve tried, lot better than Starbuck’s version. The other stuff is good too, it’s expensive here but...they donate half the payment to charity which makes up for something.
Try the pastries you wont regret it
This coffee shop was amazing. This coffee shop is a very cozy spot! People there and the staff are all very friendly. We love at this place and we are surely be back.
This place is so cute. Its a house converted into a coffee shop. I took a break and walked here for coffee and the decor is colorful and interesting. They have a porch sitting around and patio. The coffee is pricier than Starbucks, but I guess they donate 51% of proceeds to local charities or something like that. Nice local coffee shop.
Friendly passionate baristas serving excellent coffee in a hip environment with an emphasis on being environmentally friendly. Love it.
I really liked this place. The coffee is great!! If you love to explore what kind of coffee is out there, definitely check this out.
It was my first time here and I loved it! The place is so nice, something about it just made me smile. I couldnt help but smile the entire time. And I love that they make design ls with the milk! :)
The facility: Nice ambience, especially if you are a student. They also have comfortable sofas as well. Moreover, if the place gets crowded (which I think it does) they have a nice patio area with plenty of chairs, tables, and umbrellas to block the sun. The food: the coffee crumb cake is the bomb! I think they need to spliff-up their pastries presentation, plus maybe add breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Overall, the outer and inner perimeter of the property is very pleasing to the eye.
Super cozy spot for meeting a friend with tasty treats and coffee! Love that they have vegan options.
This place is so cute! There is plenty of room but if you need a table go early. It gets packed!!!! Food was delicious and my Americano was good although I think they forgot the hazelnut... Definitely gonna go back to enjoy the night ambiance! ☕😀💟
Adorable, quaint cafe with a beautiful, relaxing vibe inside and out. We found it by accident on that way into the mountains but well definitely return whenever were in the area. Coffee was delicious, staff was very friendly, the place is clean with ample seating and unique decor.
I love the feel of this cozy and decorative residential house turned coffee shop. Its on a pretty big and busy residential street, snuggled in between other homes. Its a great space to get some work done or to meet up with friends. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the Vietnamese Coffee. It was not what I was expecting... pretty much a small shot of coffee with lots of condensed milk. Not poured over ice or anything. The coffee had a burnt taste. I ended up asking for a cup of ice and poured in the coffee. It was slightly better. My friend ordered the cold brew and he said it tasted burnt, too. Perhaps I came on an off day. If I was ever in the area again, I would come by and give this place another shot.
Im so glad neighborhood spots are coming back! I probably have more Starbucks than the average person since I travel all over the US, but every time its like a visit into the matrix. Corporate, vanilla, cold (even when drinking something hot). This is exactly the opposite. Inviting, friendly, warm and most importantly HUMAN!
What a place! We stayed here through Airbnb and loved the place! The hosts were awesome and the space was just the right size. And the coffee shop?? It was so adorable I just wanted to stay there all morning! The customer service was great, the coffee was so good, and the pastries tasted even better then they looked!Whether your looking for a BNB or a coffee shop this place is sure to satisfy both!
Amazing ambiance, coffee was good and we had a great time here. It was all worth it and good customer service.
Would you add cream to fine wine? No, so there is no need to do so to Mantra coffee. It is that good. Perhaps the best Americano I have ever had. Courteous front of house staff. Excellent atmosphere for studying, or doing whatever hipsters do. :) Great establishment... keep up the good work!
