Three of us mature citizens decided to try this new restaurant with the strange name. We were impressed with the open seating with, the unusual food from a limited menu. The look is modern with a variety of beer, wine, and unusual soft drinks. Give it a try.

My friends and I showed up here for brunch yesterday after perusing the menu we thought this would be a great farm to table to spend second Saturday; menu was promising mimosas looked cheap all the works for a new favorite local spot. We were seated with the one menu that was given to us when we walked in; about twenty minutes later, after we all decided what we likely wanted to eat one of the waitresses for THE FIRST TIME came up apologized and said she would get us waters. We were understanding and stated it was okay- I worked in the service industry a while so I know how it is. Another Twenty minutes passed we still did not even have our waters let alone our drink orders taken; confused we asked a different waitress if we were supposed to order at the register and she said “no we take your order at the table” and said she’d be right back. Twenty minutes after this and Forty-five minutes after we had been initially seated and no order was taken, no waters were brought, and no menus were given my friends and I decided to leave; it appeared busy but there is no excuse to hit even approach your customers or even give waters after 45 minutes. This does seem like a good restaurant and hopefully this was a minor fluke but further I do not know if I will want to return here in the future

We truly enjoyed our meal, I had fish tacos my son had the Korean beef sandwich. Restaurant was not too busy when we arrived at 2 pm and we were able to find a table immediately. The owner stopped by and asked about our experience!

It wasnt too busy during lunchtime on Saturday, but it has a very sweet atmosphere. Id wanted to try their bone marrow and eggs, so I ended up going for brunch. It definitely wouldve been nice to have a little more bread w/it, but the bone marrow was well made/was tasty, & the salad and eggs were okay.Id definitely suggest going with friends to try out some of their unique dishes. Its also nice being able to check out the little shop next to the tables.

Just exceptional! My mother and I went for the re-opening brunch, and every detail was lovely. The apple fritters are a must--giant chunks of fresh baked fruit. Loved the hummus and iced tea too. Super cute patio. Great service. Highly recommend.

An oasis in Bakersfield. Simply excellent food at a fair price. Locally sourced ingredients. Creative preparation. This will now be my go to on business here. Reservations recommended on weekend nights. Had dinner here with wife two nights in a row. Live music both nights for a nice soft ambient background environment. Shown in pics are beet risotto, cauliflower curry, tri-tip salad, fish special. Nice work!

We were here on a Saturday evening for a birthday celebration. Our server was humorous and professional! Our appetizers (cheese board, coconut shrimp, and bone marrow) and wine (summery white wine) that were recommended by the server were amazing - entree was moderately great in taste for the most part, however the pork chops seemed a little dry and had a burnt taste in most bites (other member of our party concurred w/ this opinion). Overall, the experience was enjoyable and I commend the LA-esque decor and friendly vibe the restaurant embodies!

This is a delightful addition to the downtown area. I had the blackened halibut. It was served over greens and sweet potato mashers. This dinner entree did not disappoint. The flavors were perfectly matched.

Fantastic meal. Had the shrimp and grits and the short rib gnocchi and not only was were they delicious they were amazingly thought out. The gnocchi was pillow soft and the dish had bits of croton for texture and crunch to help make it a pretty well rounded dish. This restaurant reminded me of something Id find back home in sonoma county.

My husband and I went on Thursday night Jazz night.. I had the duck tacos and husband had the Mediterranean fish both were delicious! Loved the atmosphere. Will definitely go back.

My favorite place to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner in Bakersfield! Amazing atmosphere and amazing food. It feels very welcoming. Some of the best customer service I’ve had!

Great place. They are always so nice and have a great staff. Their food is amazing. Even when there’s a mishap they handle it so well and make sure that your business is important to them. Highly recommend this place!

Today was our first visit and we were surprised at the limited menu. Their website leads you to believe they have a large array of food items.Theatmosphere is open and bright and our server was very knowledgeable . We will try it again for dinner.

Came during their soft opening. Had a chocolate chip cookie (lightly salted), delicious. Ordered Marrow & Eggs, and a California shaped cookie to go. Not bad at all. This might force me to become a breakfast person.

The atmosphere and the food were absolutely amazing! My husbands steak was phenomenal and I had the delicious lentils and curry with cauliflower rice. We finished it of with the fresh and light strawberry shortcake. Tim was our server and he gave us some great recommendations. He was on top of everything. We will definitely be back!

Great food in a very cozy environment

Italian sandwich with homemade pickles was wonderful. The Hibiscus Mint Lemon drink was out of this world. (I am tickled that one of the owners went to Garces with my son, Kaznicka is her name.)

If you want to feel special eat here. This was our first visit for dinner. Cheyenne our server was wonderful. She listened to Lindas dietary complexities and assured her that they could and would adjust the carrot risotto to meet her needs. It was served with baby beets, goat and mushrooms. It was great. Our dinner started off with a seasonal watermelon spritzer. Then came the risotto and my order of pork belly in a cast iron skillet served with turnips and carrots on a bed of cooked kale topped with carrot pesto. Desert followed with a fresh fruit torte of peaches and nectarines. Linda enjoyed a sugar rubbed melon. Each bite was a simple mouthful of flavor. Cheyenne made sure all the experience was 5 star. A great place to dine.

Nice looking restaurant. Pita w spinach/artichoke/ cheese was excellent. Cauliflower/ cheese soup was superb. Pasta alfredo w fish was good too. Lentils missed some spices. Worth the money, quality above all!

My wife loves this place. My kids love this place. We attended their seven course seafood dinner and it was amazing! Ive tried their breakfast tacos, also very good. They also have a decent wine selection. A trendy, farm to table modern mercantile that isnt pretentious and very customer service oriented.

The food was amazing! I didnt get a picture of our appetizer- the spinach dip with crunchy pork belly- it was so delicious! And we had some Honey Bubbles sparking moscato- yum! Everything was perfect! Great service by Tim! Cant say enough how good it all was

Awesome food. We tried three main dishes and two of the drinks all fantastic. Wont say what they were because Id prefer to leave people guessing for now. Ill do a fallow up later on with pics and details. Good pricing on menu items. Products were definitely quality. Vibe was very nice. Love that they dont waste. Water was tasty. Produce was so fresh and beautiful it literally was picked yesterday. Worth driving all the way out for a nice lunch. Cant wait to fallow up and have dinner.

Tonight was our first time to the restaurant and my wife and I loved it. We didn’t have a reservation but got right in. Loved the atmosphere, beer, wine, food and live entertainment. Staff was friendly, professional and when she described of the specials, we were sold. We definitely recommend this place and we will be back the next time we are in Bakersfield.

I wish I could share the enthusiasm of the other reviewers but my experience was very different. I applaud the effort of farm to table but the pesto served with the bread tasted like grass clippings with olive oil and the beet hummas had the consistency of Spackle, The Pita was tasty. The service was abysmal. We waited an hour for our entrees and then had them practically thrown at us. Surly is not a good look on a server. The wine list doesnt tell you where anything is from. They really need to work on some restaurant basics before they try trendy.

Impressive restaurant! Delicious and creative with service that excels. Friendly and attentive. The wine list is deep with customer friendly pricing. We enjoyed the bone marrow, pork belly and polenta.

Stellar farm to table restaurant, I have yet to encounter a menu item (always updated) that I didnt enjoy. Superb menu items, exquisite flavor and presentation. Service is amazing and atmosphere is a homerun-clean, modern, and the little shop has amazing items. Definitely going to go regularly--Its a breath of fresh air amongst our local restaurant scene.

New restaurants in Bakersfield come and go, I don’t want this one to ever leave because this place is a real gem in downtown Bakersfield .The service is great, the atmosphere is really good for dining indoors or out doors people watching . It fits right in with all the other eateries. The menu is different with freshly made items and come early because it does get sold out . Nothing boring at this place . The mercantile store is useful, more fresh things to buy . Buy early too because the produce sells fast too . I bought fresh bread and not regretting my purchases at all. Gluten free so no worries there . Also got some jelly too . I’m happy . I highly recommend the coffee (so smooth ) with some fresh baked cookies . I bought extra cookies for enjoying later.Great wine also to go with the delicious meals. Come on down and enjoy . A very clean place

Delicious hot cocoa and they have a parking lot that is sometimes turned into a little event area. Amazing food too.

There version of French toast was delicious even since I asked for a different version. But wished they had given me my bacon too please try I will return on there gelato is fantastic🌝

I loved the place, the food very rich my alfredo pasta very salty, the cauliflower soup with bacon delicious the desserts very rich the waitress was excellent

Had the marrow with the gluten free option (celiac). That just means they remove the bread and charge the same price. For such a hip place there are very few options for gluten free eating. Other folks in our party had the grilled cheese with super salty soup. The fish tacos looked good but the fish is breaded so I couldnt try it. The patio is nice and the inside is clean. If the food options improve Ill be back. I like having new places in town but this just didnt do it for me.
