Went by for some guitar strings and a winder. Was helped by gentleman in the shop. Seemed helpful enough. The place has been around for a looooong time. Kind of an icon of downtown local business. Shop looks like it always has. They need a neon sign.

Went in for guitar strings...and left with a snark tuner, lots of finger picks, strings for a ukulele, and a gently used autoharp. Great prices.

Ive never been to a music store that had my jaw drop like this place. The collection is beautiful. Theyve done minor work on two instruments for me returning both guitars the same day for $50. Ill be bringing in an amp soon. Amazing staff with a deep knowledge of music in general. Cant recommend this place enough.

You need anything music this is the place. The guys there are great, the prices are affordable, and the place itself is full of guitars that they let you play with as long as you want.Definitely recommend it 👍

Alot of fine guitars. Great guitar amps. New music equipment and vintage music equipment too. Listened to a great band in practice room near drum equipment. Was very pleasurable place. Nice place to see.

So...crazy cool selection of used guitars, basses, amps drums and audio. Ok selection of new equipment, but if you talk to Arty the owner or anyone else there you get great customer service and they can get basically whatever you need. Iconic local spot downtown and the even sit outside and have jammmz. Love it.

Love browsing in this shop! Its filled to the brim with music of every kind; instruments from vintage to new, sheet music, book music, tshirts advertising music,guys playing music, music memorabilia with signed autographs posted here and there around the store, etc. And dont forget the owner Arty who sits sentry at the front door handing out bits of musical information as you go in or out. A great place to check out...more than once!!

All the equipment is great. It was like a museum in there too. AWESOME

I bought a guitar here for my daughter whos just learning how to play. The owner was really nice, showed us different guitar options for begginers. He even gave us some tips. I would come here again for any musical instruments - I definitely recommend it.

I walked in and was greeted. Told them what i wanted and walla got what i needed. Prices were great. I expected to spend 30 to 40 dollars and i walked out spending 7 bucks. Will be back.

This is one of those important stores you want in your city. You want to support a local music shop because they can find things you cant get anywhere else, and they cut deals nobody else can. Theres also a ton of history here. Its the best in town.

Best music shop in Bakersfield, lacks mid priced instruments. Mostly budget priced guitars and expensive custom or boutique instruments. They sometimes have some decent priced used stuff. OK amp selection. Employees are very helpful. Willing to work out a deal too.

Bought used amp from them online, it arrived poorly packed, and immediately had problems with microphonic tube noise. They were supposed to overnight new tubes to me, but the guy on chat literally said that his boss took the tracking number home. Like they didnt use computers?! In their chats they never identify themselves personally, so I didnt know who I was talking to. They said just pack it up and well refund your money... they finally did, but not return shipping. And then they just stopped responding to my texts at all. Very disorganized and disrespectful. Do not do business with them online, youll get the runaround.

I have a fender acoustic guitar that needed a few new parts from modern ware and tare...guitart center couldnt help me with what I need, they claimed spacial parts that would have cost a fortune! So I tried front porch music and the customer service was out standing...I was helped by a true parts specialist who really cared about my guitar and my budget, I spent under $20 and now my acoustic fender is as good as new. ..I will now only give this company my business. .Statistics: 19 years of guitar experience and I own 7 guitars

They did a great job making repairs and properly tuning my autoharp. I also found a good tuner so I could keep my autoharp in tune my self.

Good people, prices arent too bad, I would recommend to someone who enjoys music, who wants equipment at an affordable price.

Went into this place to buy my first guitar back in 1999, I did. They ripped me off and took advantage. But oh well, I guess kids are easy targets. But the thing that really got me was when I asked to mess around on a boogie they had about a year layer, they sent some kid over so I wouldnt break it and that is why they havent got a dime more from me. Owner said that too. Being treated like that left a bad taste in my mouth. Could have earned a few grand off me easily if you knew how to treat people
