I will never go to another music store! Daniel was fantastic! Knowledgeable, he has alot of good information and they have a fantastic rental program where your rental fees (baseline price less taxes or add-ons) are credited towards the purchase of either that instrument or a newer model within the same genre of instrument 🎸🎷. Just for buying the protection kit our first months fee was waived! I highly recommend California Keyboard and Daniel!

Staff went out of their way to assist getting a warranty repair taken care of after we had struggles getting help from the manufacturer. California Keyboards decided to contact the manufacturer for us and arranged to have the materials needed sent to them and took care of the repair. They spent the time needed to get the job done right and verify that everything was working. Very happy to have our digital piano working again. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!!

Tl;dr - Was promised same day service. Left without anything done 4 days later.I phoned California Keyboards on Tuesday morning and asked, “If I buy a pack of strings, could I pay an extra fee to have you restring my guitar?”The person on the phone replied, “Yes. OR if you have your own pack of strings, you could just bring the pack and the guitar in and pay for a restring.”This was great news. I had a bunch of packs of strings since I order in bulk.“How long will that take?”“If you bring it in the morning, it will probably be done early the same afternoon.”Perfect! I was really strapped for time, and I live up the street. This seemed like it was going to work out really well.I take my guitar and strings in. They put my name in the system. I get a printout for a work order, and I’m on my way.Two days go by with no phone call, so I call them. It isn’t ready. I believe there was no explanation beyond that they just hadn’t gotten to it yet. So without anything else, I hang up and think I’ll either get a call later that day or early the next morning.I’m writing this on Saturday -- 4 days after dropping it off -- and no phone call. So I drive up the street with my purchase order to get my guitar whether it’s done or not.Surprise: It isn’t done.The only saving grace is that whoever the manager on duty was offered a free pack of strings for my troubles which I declined since I already buy in bulk. He then pivoted to offer a discount on the next repair if I mention this instance, but I’d only bring my guitar back here if I were desperate at this point.The fact of the matter is that I personally know people at the other music shops in town, so I made a special effort to come here rather than support my other friends’ businesses. Granted, it WOULD have been convenient for me due to the location, but it ended up being more headache than I had planned.I didn’t feel like a priority. And I wasted more time by coming here rather than just doing it myself or taking it to a friend to support THEIR business.

We went in to talk about options for our 12 year old daughter who decided she wanted to play a flute. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We had planned on renting and ended up purchasing a great starter flute at a price we couldnt pass up. They also assisted us in our needs for finding a piano tuner. We will definitely return for any of our music needs.

Great place to come repair your instruments. Prices are reasonable too! The workers are nice and professional and they answer any questions you have regarding whatever instrument you play.

Ed serviced my very old and very neglected grand piano. He brought it from almost unplayable to a fine instrument. His prices are fair and he he’s highly skilled in his trade. Will definitely do business again.

Had the most wonderful experience in piano tuning!!! Ed was so knowledgeable about our Piano which happens to be Petrof a European piano and tuned and voiced it beautifully, gave me goose bumps just to be able to listen to the piano 🎶 in tune and voiced perfectly!!! Ive been a customer of California Keyboards for many years. Their staff is the best. Ive bought a piano, keyboard, flute, and trumpet. Each purchase experience has been top notch. My grandchildren have taken music lessons there as well. Ed is the best piano tuner, and their repair shop is fantastic. I Highly recommend California Keyboards!!

Im quite disappointed with the rental process of this establishment. I wish they are more clear and make the whole process much simpler. I wont be going back.

Rented a trumpet for my sons lessons at school for 2 years in the rent to own program. Called in two times to check balances and see if we were almost paid off since I never actually received a receipt for direct deposits. When I called they would give me balance info and options. Just called today because I knew it should be paid off by now. Then big surprise! Rent to own will let you keep making payments over the value of the instrument and you can rent forever without them contacting you to sign over the instrument. It is up to you to follow up and get the instrument signed over, that you already paid for. How this can be called a rent to own service is beyond me. I ended up paying over $100 more of the value of the instrument. The company would have have continued charging me if I didnt check in. My fault for thinking this was a service that had a system that didnt rely on their customers oversights.

Beware of the rental charges. It is not rent to own. When you have earned enough rental credits to actually own the instrument, they will not let you know that and will continue to charge a monthly rental fee. I paid an additional $280 for my sons clarinet before I called to check the balance of what I owed. It was an auto-pay from my CC and I should have paid closer attention. That is my fault but I think its pretty damn sketchy of California Keyboards to run their business this way. I will be letting my music director friends know about this practice.

It’s a whole process to rent an instrument. The contract is Ridiculous. They’ll only let you rent and OLD trombone (or any instrument for that matter) for minimum three months it’s not like the image they give that the rentals are only for a month. -_- would not recommend.
