They have got the nastiest attitude in customer service and obviously do not see the value in being courteous or professional in dealing with customers. I called before I came to ask about their hours and the person who answered was very short like I should know already their hours of operation, so uncalled for! WELLI dont Im not from the Baltimore area..when I got to the store I wasnt greeted or asked if they could help and while I shopped the manager or ownerstarted arguing with his employee who was putting up a display,this went on 10 minutes and I left. They will NEVER get a dollar of my hard earned money!!!

Its a great place to get any kind of outdoor supplies and military gear. They have a huge selection of camping gear from tents to what ever supplies that you need. Any kind of military supplies from boots, clothing, to water canisters. Anything that you can think of, they have it. The staff is friendly and helpful.Last time that I went in there I think everyone that work there at least asked if I needed any help.But I did love its other location much better because it was bigger and they had more stuff and bigger selection in it. Wish that they was still there.

Favorite Surplus store Ive been to, people there are nice, plenty of outdoor/military gear and equipment. If you want it 9 times our of 10 it will be there.

Great local store with a unique variety of items, also an entertaining sales person that cut himself during a strange live knife show. Hahaha!

I absolutely love this place I spent way too much time and too much money there LOL the old man behind the counter is slightly ignorant and rude but I can get past that because the store is incredible! with all the Surplus material, Carhart, tactical, and all sorts of camping gear that you cannot find in other stores

Ive always enjoyed going to H&H, used to go to the downtown location somewhat regularly. Today was the first trip to their new spot, even though theyve been there for more than a year, still liked it and bought a few things. I will say that I liked the old place better, the cavernous basement with so much to look through and the older man who was always so friendly and helpful. I was a little concerned after a good friend said that he was followed through the store as he browsed and he left angry, but I had a decent experience.

I came here to buy some BDUs. The staff was friendly and helpful. The have a massive inventory. Bags and packs, clothes, sheaths and holsters, knives, survival gear, and camping and hunting gear. Good store!

Great stuff. Seems made primarily for construction, security and others who need to work outdoors but open to all. Carhartt, Dickies Columbia, Helly Hansen etc.

Spoke to some guy on the phone for about 12 seconds. Called to ask a question and was greeted with lets go like the guy didnt have time for a customer. Worst customer service Ive ever experienced

This is the store you go to if you want to be followed around, if you want the owner to force you out the store, and if you are colored you are def. being profiled within 5 mins of shopping. I don’t care how much or how cheap things are the owner is a racist and I wouldn’t shop there at all. This store need to be proud that people is willing to come look at the clothing, willing to shop and willing to support. Don’t shop here!!!!

This was a very nice store and reminiscent of sunnys surplus. I would highly recommend visiting. I found the staff to be very pleasant unlike some of the other reviews I read. Perhaps they are getting better or I just had a good experience.

Has all the outdoor gear that I was looking for including but not limited to hiking backpack an official M65 Field jacket and some cold weather gear the staff was great and help me with all the things that I needed what makes it even better is some of the things I was looking for that I have recently bought online and did not fit were offered at the store and I was able to get a completely perfect fit. I would recommend this store to anyone who loves the outdoor lifestyle they also carry a huge selection of military surplus items and gear for military police and security

They have never answered their phone. Its become a joke between me and a friend where we call them once a week and they havent answered once in years. They have a huge selection but the worst customer service ever. Expect zero help. Also the owner is nasty to his employees and a woman I assume is his wife. The only reason he is in business is because he is the only game in town unless you want to drive an hour or more.

My mother and I went to purchase gloves for my brother. Upon entering the store mom was followed around by a caucasian male who proceeded to tell her she was taking too long to make a choice of gloves. He tried to remove the gloves from her hands. I stepped in front of my mother to prevent him from taking anything from her. I told him she needs time to make her decision. I told him hes violating her rights and mom said Im not a thief. I stated my mom is an attorney and asked if he really wanted to violate her rights? He backed off after that. Other African Americans in the store left without making a purchase.

The manager (I think his name was Ralph) was very rude and disrespectful and was not willing to help me find what I needed. I also noticed that he was throwing some racial slurs at his employees and it made me very uncomfortable.

This place is awesome for work gear for SO or even getting some.warm work clothes and under garments. If your size is not in they will order. My only thing is the dressing too is a little insecure but other than that they are perfect store.

Completely unprofessional, hostile environment. Ralph refers to it as his establishment. not sure if hes the owner. He has no people skills, is rude and racist. Follows the shoppers around immediately upon entering the store and harasses them telling them to get out and that they are not going to buy anything.

One of the best places to buy winter clothing for a great price! And I have been to Dickies and North Face and their both overpriced for there clothing. Giving it 4 stars because one of the employees was a bit rude to me. Otherwise great place.

Great surplus and outdoors equipment and gear, Ive been going here for as long as I can remember. New location on Harford Rd is pretty convenient.

So much to look through in the 2 stories of this shop. Definitely can find whatever army surplus goods youre looking for here. Some really cool stuff thats probably been through some interesting times. Give yourself time to explore! Prices arent super competitive with other surplus stores in the suburbs

Just went to visit old associates from the downtown location. This facility is much smaller than the location they had on eutaw and Franklin. Its organized. Same good people working there

Fantastic selection of clothes, outdoor gear, military surplus, you name it. The gentleman downstairs was incredibly helpful, digging through piles of military pants to find a size that fit me. Its not tidy and spotless, but it is organized, and its everything a surplus place should be; a little dusty but piled high with affordable merchandise. Older folks attending the upstairs register were a little slow to action, but seemed nice enough.

Im only giving this 4 stars because I loved the original location so much. However, the access to parking at the Hamilton location is muuuuch better, even if it appears that selection is less. Quality is still on point with products for if you need to prep for the zombie apocalypse, or take the family to the woods and pretend to be homeless for a weekend.

Called to ask if they carried certain items, the man on the phone was short with me and rude then I got disconnected only to call back and realize I was hung up on, I guess they thought my question do you carry multiple size duffel bags was stupid in some way, I called back and got another unfriendly person who hung up on me after briefly answering a question. I have roughly a $3000 budget for a big outdoors trip I am doing and I was hoping to find good things at this store, thankfully I called ahead of time to find out how nasty you guys are, I will never spend a penny in your store, thanks for being transparent with your bad attitude and service !

The two men that work in this store are rude!!! The service is terrible I hate that they treat people some kind of way. I asked a question and the reply was just awful. I wont go back they. wont get my money.

Wanted to stop by to compare. Overpriced for used gear. Not much selection. Amazon is cheaper. I used to visit the past location off of Orleans St. Downtown for anything random on my military packing list. The entire basement was full of gear. The new Harford road site has one shelf.

Original location had a much larger selection of actual military surplus gear; new location barely has anything aside from work gear and brand name clothing such as Dickies which can be purchased a lot cheaper online.Customer service is negligible, almost a joke. Owner of the store is a miserable man who degrades his own employees in front of customers. I was followed around the store the entire time I was browsing and felt unwanted and rushed.Bottom line: stay away. Its a waste of your time, money, and dignity.

You can find just about anything in this store except good customer service, hands on assistance and respect. Oh my. I have not been to the new location as I am not sure Id be welcomed. Anyway, I worked for the Rosenblatt family for a bit over 10 years at the previous location and can say that while their management style may be a bit old school and abrupt I never saw anything that would make me feel they are racist as several reviewers imply. If you feel you were treated poorly, race most likely wasnt the reason. They treat everyone the same for better or worse. :)

I love it. Old school, has everything! Guys were all super nice! Directed me right where I needed to find some old school BDUs for my Civil Air Patrol unit (sorry I ever gave away my Air Force issued ones) and they let me browse all I wanted to find a few other cool things. Ill be back!

Zero Stars. Wish I read the reviews before I called. Guy who answered lacked any customer service whatsoever. He put me on hold after I asked for the item Im searching... I could hear him answering someone elses question - completely unrelated to my call - then came back on the line said No and hung up. Glad I didnt waste time going over there and never will. Just Rude!

H&H almost has a little bit of everything for the outdoors person hiking boots they have camping equipment military wear new and used workwear boots the inventory has been trimmed down since they moved to this new location I dont think you can get a Russian submarine sailor shirt anymore but they do have used us military shirts and jackets

Way over priced. Its cool to look around but you can buy the same things cheaper and new online. If they lowered their prices then maybe I would go back.

Niche market with lots of old gear, both military and civilian in various states of newness, from brand new to heavily used. Prices arent that great, shop is disorganized and difficult to navigate and owners/employees seem disinterested and unfriendly. Neighborhood where it is located is further sketchy, which means I probably wont go back. Also no easy parking nearby.

Today January 2,2019 at around 1:30pm I rode a bus all the way to the store to purchase needed items .I entered speaking smiling cause this was one of my favorite stores that is until today.A lady asked if they had finger free gloves so I said yes .the store clerk used profanity towards me stating who asked you mother f#$#$# I told him he had no right to disrespect a customer like that he told me he didnt use profanity as he walked away a customer said he is always like that so I let him know I do activism work with many organizations that work very hard to get rid of this sort of behavior later I found out from other merchants there has been many complaints against the stores employees I seek to file formal complaints and possibly boycott this business establishment if mediation isnt met asap .

I seen a video of the owner harassing a couple of customers, stereotyping them and making them feel discriminated against.

They say they are moving, they need to. They got camping stuff in the basement from the 70s, at the bottom of piles of merchandise. Need a hoarder intervention. U can find alot of neat stuff.

Great selection of items and locally owned. Staff can be a little menacing, following customers around, not always friendly or personable.

Its pretty good. I went to get a pair of summer boots and was able to get a decent pair. They have a great selection. A word of caution though. The owner (at least Im assuming hes the owner) seems to be a bit rough around the edges at first blush. Hes very straight and to the point, and may come off as a bit unfriendly. Im going to assume hes retired military. Just be aware of this before you leave a bad review for an otherwise excellent store.

A person can find a lot of cool and useful accoutrements in this place.

I will continue to shop H & H because they have everything I need, especially a lot of big sized clothes, which are hard to find anywhere else (waist up to 56!). If they stop carrying large sizes, I will probably stop going there.
