Love Amazing Spiral Comics! Great customer service, people who have a vast knowledge of comics and not just salespeople. Something went wrong with a pre-order recently and though Im not able to pick it up on release, theyre holding it for me until I can come.get my item. You guys rock! And their communication is great π please go visit if youre a lover of comics and action statues
Friendly and diverse staff and customers. Happy taking my child there. Good events like Free Comic Book Day.Comic shop is modern: clean and well organized, different from most shops back in the 90s!
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lots of board games, MtG, DnD, and a great comic and book selection.
One of Baltimores many secret lairs. Amazing Spiral is like the Voltron of comic shops. Everybody is knowledgeable, but they dont pretend to know it all (an issue Ive run into with several book/game stores). Lizzie is always on the look out for books that fit your style and Bills combined magic and comic knowledge is always appreciated. Everyone is patient and the store is great with communication.Take a look if youre in the area.
Love the selection. Love Lizzie. Check it out.
I used to visit this place often when I lived near Baltimore. Great memories of their Rotunda location years ago. Good to see the shop is still thriving in its new location. A great place to buy books or game related items.
I love this store! Theyve expanded and have lots of space for private browsing and the selection is wonderful with a wide range of DC, Marvel and Indie comics as well as a great childrens selection! They also have board games for game nights. The staff are knowledgeable and incredibly helpful and love to talk about comics and nerd culture. Love this place and love the AMAZING staff!
A great comic shop where you can find the newest comics or your favorite series. They have the coolest set up with the best figures from your favorite comic book. You can find stacks of older affordable comics and any comic from the newest series, from mainstream like marvel,DC to Independent comics. Its a good comic shop that is affordable and the staff is kind and very knowledgeable.
Always friendly, decent selection. Although, I wish they had a larger selection of boardgames. That, and sometimes the clientele are the worst. Insinuating someone who likes the movie Alien, over Aliens has no taste. Theyre both good movies, youre just a moron. Anyway, lol. 5 stars.
The owner was really nice and the used comic book section was alphabetically organized and filed based off of what type of comic book it was. The employees where really helpful and great at answering questions, plus they all were really happy.
An awesome place. Not crowded in close with comics, inclusive and beautiful kept. A very great place
I go here every weekend and its really fun to go with friends they have anime marvel magic the gathering and so on!
Spiral Comics has the best comics at the best prices. Never been to a store so clean and organized. The staff is super knowledgeable. Its my Go To store for comics from now on !!!
They have a great collection of comics at a variety of prices. They also sell various collectibles from a wide span of TV/movies. Good atmosphere to pick up some new comics or graphic novels!
I like it better when they were in the rotunda mall I like what I saw people should not have to put masks on I like to breathe.
Long story short, it was a very awkward experience. One was the staff was weirding out our 6 yr old.So we decide it was time to leave, but we had to wait nearly 15 minutes for someone to come over and ring up the sale.We were very tempted to just put it down, and find it on Amazon.
The Amazing Spiral is your one stop shop for all things comic related. It also has card games that is popular with the young adults. Ive been a customer for years and would think of going no where else.
Nice shop. They got a good selection of dollar bin books and also kid-friendly.
I really like this place, but I have a suggestion that you guys should expand the store with anime merchandise like more mangas, anime figures, body pillows, cosplay costumes of anime characters, and also cute anime pillows and posters, so weebs and anime lovers can shop more at the store. Just a suggestion :)
Great place. Went in with a vague question: something not from the big two from Warren Ellis like Transmetropolitan and they satisfyingly hooked me up with Trees(free plug, Mr. Ellis, wheres my money?). Thanks, guys and girls!
The owners of this store were so nice. We were floored coming back to Savannah and everyone telling us how unpleasant everyone Baltimore because most everyone we met, especially the owners of Amazing Spiral, bent over backwards to be hospitable towards us when we visited late September.Especially at Amazing Spiral. They were such great conversationalists, so friendly, generous, and encouraged our interests with personal anecdotes of how they procured a signed copy of the first issue of Ta-Nehisi Coates Black Panther run (which I quickly bought), as well as helping us find significant markers in our self-guided John Waters tour around the city. Our interaction with the staff here stands out significantly despite visiting the aquarium, John Waters childhood home, and Divines grave because of how enjoyable they were. I hope this establishment recieves so much success.
One of my favorite places to shop at. The staff are always awesome and super helpful. And they have a vast selection of stuff here too.
My son absolutely loved this location. There is some street parking, just be careful crossing the street. You can also park around the corner. There was a pretty good selection for kids, which I appreciated. We will be back.
Ive been a customer for the past year or so, so the shops changed hands since it first popped up. The current owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. (They start remembering you once you come in enough and chat with them) They may not have the most of your favorite series or artist, and only just started regularly started carrying tabletop game supplies. (D&D, Pathfinder, etc.) This doesnt stop them from hosting event nights for MTG, D&D, and even 501st Legion meet-ups. I say give them a try. I havent been dissatisfied yet!
New owner? Not a nice person. I went in and spent a lot of time browsing. Selection of older DC comics was limited but there were 5-6 I decided to buy. I went to the counter and the clerk mentioned I hadnβt looked at the good stuff on the wall behind the counter. I asked if I could approach and he said yes. The owner came out with a lot of attitude about me being behind the counter despite the fact I wasnβt anywhere near the register. When I informed him I had sought permission he didnβt apologize and doubled down. I had visited briefly a few days earlier and heard him making fun of a customer who called with a question. I decided not to buy after letting him know what I thought about his customer service. Limited selection of older comics. Poor customer service and the owner is not customer centric.
Great storeStaff and owner are very pleasant and welcoming
Great store very welcoming, owner is very knowledgeable about current comics and history of comics, I love that definitely be back
It was great the service was great please visit
The store is easy to browse and i use it to buy and play tabletop roleplaying games Luke pathfinder 2e or dungeons and dragons 5e. Misty recently theyve had a sale on magic the gathering cards.
I went to a DND camp here. And all of the people here, are really nice! Iβd go back any time. I really love it there. They have great staff, awesome Selection, and just about all you could really ask for.
Very friendly and helpful. They even have $1 bins in the back .Highly recommend!!
The most glorious shop you will ever visit. Very trading card-friendly, pleasant staff and calm environment.
The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Really cool spot
Amazing Place.
This is the comic book shop that I will always return to. I used to go to Comics Kingdom but these folks bought that failing business and resurrected it as The Amazing Spiral. The new location on York Road is so much more open and it is so easy to find exactly what I came for. Free Comic Book Day is a big event there with costumed characters and plenty of smiling faces. Comic book stores have a reputation for rude, misogynistic clerks but this place has none of that negative energy.
Hands down, best comic shop in Baltimore. Friendly staff, great selection. They go out of their way to get anything you need.
Best welcoming book store around! They will special order for you. Staff know all about the multiverses! Costumes, jewelry, and spiritual guide books round out this diverse store. Meditation classes, yoga, belly dance and crystal intuition meet up groups join the people playing Magic or talking about Dr. Who. WOW!
New management is just as friendly & helpful as the old owners, but definitely bring a new, crisper and more focused style.
Great little shop near Belvedere Square. Its a great place for comic and book lovers alike. Their used and collectible book selection is great and affordable. The staff is very friendly.
New look awesome great selection of books posters jewelry
Cool place and better people!
I love amazing spiral best place comic and graphic novel they have so much you looking for they have it or they can order it for you I love this place.
A bit quite but a nice selection of comics and some good deals
Family-friendly and inclusive atmosphere for nerds and noobs of all kinds. (Nice play area for kids so adults can shop.) Lots of regular free gaming and reading events plus some that encourage cosplay. Knowledgeable staff that guides customers to great selections without the smarmy service you might expect from comic shops. Support your local comic book store!
Family-friendly, eager to help geek out in comics, mythology, history, spirituality, and belly dancing! Been coming here for years and my daughters (now 10) have been embraced like family! They have a ton of space which they use to hold Magic, Yu-gi-oh, Dungeons and Dragons events as well as discussing groups which range from artistic and literary analysis to women in comics. They frequently showcase local talent and reach out to the community. They are great folks who are there for all types of fans!
Everyone is incredibly friendly. They know so much about comics and are just fun to talk to. Theyre super helpful too.
Great comic book store. You can find some gems in the $1 bin
First time theyre marvelous place
We love this place and come every week. My daughter has learned her love of stories and comics from coming here. The staff and owners are great with new people, amazing suggestions and really getting to know and care for their customers. I even had my 40th birthday party here.
When compared to the bleak outlook of Nine Inch Nails, this spiral seems to lead to better doors.
Greatest local comic shop in Baltimore. Selection is gigantic only to be accompanied by stellar customer service, knowledge and fantastic pricing.
A true community resource! Free activities for kids, space for several meet-up groups, games, comics, books, and toys. Owners are friendly and go the extra mile regarding customer care.
Great assortment of books and collectibles. Staff is wonderful and customer-focused!
Great shop, nice people!
Love this place. Staff is always amazingly friendly. Cant get any better than Amazing Spiral!
Very helpful. Great location. Dinner and a movie all within walking distance. Great time.
Good service. Good deals. And they sell soda!!!
A great store with a wide array of materials, activities and events. Great for the whole family, ages 1-99.
Friendly attentive staff, game play downstairs, kids play area, great for fans from 5 to 85 years.
Friendly staff and an amazing selection.
Always a great trip and there is something for everyone. My personal comic shop, they are a real gem.
The place is Mecca for anything comix!!! Need more comic books in your life? Tired of reading on a iPad? Come here and get set right for just a couple of bucks.
TLDR: Not Gamer Friendly - βNo Bathroomβ - Wonβt Go BackI had a late lunch in Belvedere Square with a friend and we wandered in. They seemed to have a good selection, even MtG cards, so we picked out a few things to read and a few to buy for later, and settled at one of the tables in the back. I didnβt get why it was so empty on a Saturday afternoon, but was more focused on a graphic novel. After an hour and a half of hanging out and reading, my friend went for her fourth trip to the stacks. The guy in his 40s-50s who was at the front desk the whole time came back and asked her if she needed help finding anything. She didnβt but thanked him. I decided that since the desk guy wasnβt busy Iβd ask him where the bathroom was, but he said βthere isnβt one- you could go next door the the pizza place, they usually let you use theirsβ. I sighed and replied, βWell, Iβll be back in a few minute then, Iβm leaving my friend here.βItβs illegal to not have a bathroom for the employees, and the shop I went to with my ex-boyfriend had one tiny rundown bathroom for employees and customers to share, so obviously who ever runs this shop would rather send people to the pizza place than let customers share with employees.I did go next door to the pizza place, where the sign on the bathroom says βcustomers onlyβ. On my way out I dug my wallet out of my purse and bought an Italian ice, since I felt bad about using their bathroom and because I wanted a light snack anyway. When I reached the door to the comic shop I paused, concerned I might have missed a sign on the door saying βno foodβ. But there wasnβt a sign on the door. It was silly to be so paranoid, right? So I walked in eating the Italian ice. βCan you not eat that in here?β The guy at the desk asked at once. I paused in shock. βBut there wasnβt a sign on the door...?β I asked quietly, for lack of any other possible thought, staring down at the mini fridge at the counter which offered drinks for $1. βYes, but still, can you not eat that in here?β He asserted. I blinked, then walked back outside. It just started flurrying again. Great. A few chilly minutes later I walked back into the comic shop.My friend finished up what she was reading and we went to check out. The guy at the desk asked if we found everything we needed. After we paid and walked out, I told my friend that even though I was looking for a new comic/game store to hang out at, that this one wouldnβt be it, and I wouldnβt be going back there. She agreed that it was ridulous that they sold stuff to drink and had tables but didnβt have a bathroom open to customers.Spiral is technically the closest comic shop to my house but Iβve never been in before, just because no one has ever recommended it to me in particular. I suppose I know why now. I guess if you literally only want to purchase a comic, this place would work... but then you might as well go somewhere else? Spiral seems to survive off curious walk-ins from the movie theater across the street to make one-time purchases, because whoever owns Spiral isnβt concerned with cultivating regulars, based on the store policies. One star for having lots of content, because otherwise itβd be zero.
One of my favorite comic book spots. The staff is always nice & friendly and willing to help.
A unique atmosphere and friendly place. The store seems to constantly change and thier is always something new.
I Love This Store I Highly Recommend
Helpful clerks and know their stock.
Great selection, really helpful staff. They also host a variety of clubs, depending on your interests.
