Even if you recycle your scraps, it is important to save all of the stuff that comes into contact with your metal too (paper towels, vacuum bags from your studio, etc). It might take a while to fill your bucket but it will be worth it.

In trying to sell my late mothers jewelry for the estate I discovered refineries. Sadly, her jewelry didnt have a lot of resale value, so I figured if it was going to be scrapped, I might as well get the most out of it that I could for the estate. Even though their primary clientel are businesses, Brendan at PMRS was easy to work with and communicative throughout the process and in the end, garnered us about 15% over the best price I could get locally. PMRS, unlike most of the other refineries I contacted, also removes any gemstones and offers them back to you or gives you the option of having them appraised and will even make an offer on them. While we didnt have much of value gem-wise, I appreciate the service offered.All-in-all, if youre in the spot where you need to offload a bunch of jewelry the services offered by PMRS are top-notch.

I couldnt recommend using this company for your metals Enough! SOOO easy, great communication they basically send you everything you need including a shipping label to send back to them. Once they get they call and tell you they have and will start to process once they have smelted your metal (took about a full week) they call and tell you the check is already in the mail and what it will be again I cannot express how simple the process was now every smidge of metal I save. They even have a process that you can send them a ring or what have you with gems in they get the gems out and melt the metal for you and send you back your gems and a check for the metal- I mean come on how COOL!!!! I think im going to do that with my wedding band anyhoo. In this day an age it is wonderful to use a company that does everything it says it will and then some. Keep it up and I will for sure be back!!!!

They are great at keeping you up to date on the status of your scraps. I will be using them again!My only tiny sadness is that when I sent the metal in, silver was at a high and I was hoping to get that price, but the process takes a few days and at the point I got the payment silver was down again. Working with PMRS has been a dream! I just received the reports for my first batch of scrap and Im kicking myself that I didnt know about them sooner. It couldnt be easier to work with them. They handle everything and their customer service is incredible! Im looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership with them to refine my scrap and sweeps.

My horror story with PMRS refinery: I received my shipping containers and was in the process of removing my stones when the customer service rep (John Yurik) called wanting to schedule a pick up time. I told him what I was doing and he assured me they would remove genuine stones and they would be sent back to me. (No mention of how they were to be bagged). He also told me they wanted to make it as simple as possible for me to put a total weight (not individual weights of each gold or silver) so that is what I did. I didn’t write gold or silver just a total weight. The instructions sheet was clearly marked for stone removal and to send them back to me. He knew there was silver plate flatware and sterling silverware along with gold, fine silver, sterling silver, and diamonds and other precious gems. I put the flatware and silverware in the 5gallon bucket and the gold rings, some silver rings, and silver scrap in a smaller container. I placed the smaller container on top of the silverware in the larger bucket, sealed it and sent it in. About 1-1/2 weeks later I get a check for $400 with a 20%pay of silver with no mention of gold. Now their policy said the costumer service rep is supposed to call to give you results before a payment is made (which never happened). I spoke to the rep about the gold and stones he said he would check on it. I had to call back the next day and he tells me there was no gold. I told him about the smaller container with gold and he checks again and they did find gold and they needed to analyze it. I called back two days later and instructed him how I wanted payment and he assured me that the stones would be returned with the payment. A week later payment comes and no stones. I called him again and he checks on the stones and informs me there were no stones and there was nothing they could do. At this point I am extremely upset and called the CEO (Sheldon Goldner) he tells me he will investigate it. He calls me and tells me they don’t have the stones and they don’t take silver plate and because there was no indication on the form there was gold they assumed the whole bucket was silver and they do not remove stones from silver. He also said I should have bagged the gold with the stones separately. I read their website and instructions. They indicate they can extract precious metal from anything. There is no indication they do not take silver plate or how to bag gold rings for stone removal. Their process clearly states they inspect, photograph and weigh the contents in each container received. I have asked for pictures and paperwork several times. I put the checks in the bank after speaking with Sheldon. asked if they had insurance to cover things like this and he said no. They have been in business for over 40 years and this has never happened. My mistake was a very costly one for me. My grandmothers diamonds are gone now. They continue to not take any responsibility for their mistake and are trying to discredit me on my Facebook review on their page. I believe it is important for me to tell my story so potential customers can make informed decision about sending their jewelry with stones for removal. I was compensated for the silver and gold but not for my diamonds or stones. I cannot recommend this company.

Sheldon will call into Fed Ex to have our package picked up, he will call me when the package has arrived and when all is done, Sheldon will call me with the amount of my check or checks. I had the opportunity a few years back to work with this company through our funeral home. Since the first conversation with the representative I was treated with nothing but respect. If you need a company to handle your precious metals then I highly recommend them.

Do not send them your metal I should have been smarter and not trusted them they sound really nice over the phone but I send them over a oz of gold and 9 grams of pure palladium they took it all said it was all fake even after i had already had it tested which i didnt tell them i took it had it gunned so i was sure what it was then acid tested it just to be sure then sent it to them they kept it all gave me nothing. My dad sent it 4 oz at the same time and they screwed him on about 300 dollars worth of palladium I lost about 800 and my dad lost 300 total they screwed us for over 1k in metal please do not send them metal send it to Argentina I know it will take longer but they will not screw you

Ive used other refineries in the past and usually Expected a 10% loss on all of my gold scrap. With PMRS there has been occasion that I received more on the settlement than expected. My calculations and PMRS have never been off by more than 2%. Im really happy with their service. They also remove stones for free and bid on the diamond.
