Smoked ham, center cut porkchops, capicola, fresh ground beef, to name a few of my draws...AND if youre there before 3 pm on a weekday, easy checkout and traffic isnt too congested on 125 when leaving the parking lot.

Good meat packs. Friendly staff. A but more accommodating than other places. Lots of places stopped meat packs. Im glad that they have them.

It is refreshing to see a local business maintain its character and quality without charging an arm and leg. Very delicious and affordable. It is a necessary stop when passing by.

I have been shopping at this store for my entire life and the quality is always great, and the staff have always been friendly. Sadly, I no longer feel safe shopping here. Last time I visited there was a sign posted on the door saying that customers don’t need to wear masks. This store is tiny, and the aisles are cramped! I didn’t feel comfortable because there’s no way to distance yourself from others when inside. The employees that I saw were all wearing masks but none of the other customers were. Numbers of COVID are going up in New Hampshire, and while it is the right of the owner to not mandate masks in their store, they have lost a lifelong customer because of it. I have a family member at home with cancer so I cannot in good conscience continue shopping somewhere that doesn’t follow the recommended guidelines.

Good food, but I stopped in about a month or so ago and met a lovely young lady at the sandwich counter. She was working with another young lady with dark curly hair and glasses. The young lady with curly hair was very rude. Not only did she ignore my presence for longer than 3 minutes, but she wasn’t even busy. I was the only customer in line and she was cleaning off a machine. She saw me and turned back around. I started to get very frustrated when nobody from the meat counter noticed me either. A very pleasant young lady with dark hair who said her name may have been Cassie promptly apologized and took my order right away. If this young lady did not step up to the plate you would have lost business. Now I walk in about 3 weeks ago looking for the pleasant girl who took my order, and was told by the rude ignorant employee with glasses she was fired. You need to make better choices. My family and I will not be back again.

I LOVE this little store in my hometown... they have such Unique foods here... love the meats sold here too... a little priced high I think but a little worth it cuz its always amazing. They are so friendly here! And this one girl with different colored hair makes the BEST breakfast sandwiches ever... she NEEDS to show and train the whole crew how she does it! But for reals amazing people amazing product... always got something new here to keep you wanting to come back for more! Check them out and you will be happy.

I really like this little market. People seem to be very nice behind the butcher shop counter and their meats and prices are very good. I was there last week and intended to purchase a lot of meat given that we have a houseful of people right now. I left without purchasing anything. No one was wearing a mask. There is a pandemic and though the numbers here in NH are down, they will go right back up if we continue to let our guard down. As a healthcare professional, I will only shop in an environment that takes this seriously. Calefs is not one of them.

I have generally had good experiences shopping at Calef’s and love the idea of supporting local businesses with local products. I have found staff to be friendly.BUT, given the crisis period we are going through right now with the pandemic I found today’s visit to be quite disappointing when not a single store employee was wearing a mask. It was a big statement to me of the lack of respect and caring for the health of their customers (whom all were wearing masks). In a time where even Walmart is requiring masks for their employees as well as customers it seems like a local store could give at least that same respect. Wearing a mask is not that big of a thing to ask for the safety of all.

Grabbed a bacon, egg, and pepper jack breakfast sandwich. Less than 5 minutes for order to be ready. Excellent sandwich.

Basically a small meat market and deli that also has more commonly used grocery staples. The meat is excellent! They make some fantastic deli sandwiches and subs. Grocery staples are priced high, but they have them if you need them bad enough. Overall, a great place to pick up some excellent steaks or a well-packed sub.

Until today we used to come here almost weekly to buy their house roasts, which we love and cant find anywhere else. However, we will not be back until the staff wears masks, and if the management continues with an attitude that they are not necessary in the midst of a pandemic they will likely lose our patronage permanently.

Amazing food, incredibly nice people and they work so hard !! Best food and deli.. plus their sauces ...omg.. not to mention their homemade cheeses !! Their egg salad and homemade meatballs are awesome !! You feel like youre home when youre there !

Always loved Calefs...until I went in today for lunch and no staff wearing masks. Signs posted stating masks should not be worn unless you are caring for some sick or are sick yourself, I did not feel safe.

George Calef fine foods is a nice little grocery store. They have a wide selection of high quality meats, cheese, beverages and candy. Their produce section is very small but is always fresh and delicious looking. Employees are always polite and helpful. I just wish prices were a little more affordable, but hey you do have to pay for quality. By far the best of the two calef stores in barrington.

It is easy to spend a large amount on meat here. The service is great. Our last visit was a month and a half ago. Yes we spent $200, but we have enough meat in the freezer for about another month still. The quality is superb, and its great to know we are also supporting small farms and the local economy.

The meats here are outstanding. Their pulled pork, the pork shoulder is actually smoked on the premises! The is a must go to store for good quality meats and delis.

The was recently remodeled with a ton more space to get around and find all the items youre in for. The huge expansion in beer space is great for anyone looking to find lots of things not available in a super store. The deli and meat selection is fantastic as ever.

Last time I was in they had a great beer selection for a small local store.

I know its a mom and pop shop but so are a ton of other places I go to I found this place alil pricey compared to other mom and pop shops

Always a pleasant experience when I treat myself to their yummy fresh made bread and other goodies!! Their own sharp cheese is also a treat! They have smaller pieces of their Sharp Cheese and a small piece of pepperoni for my drive home. But feel free to get a larger size to share with the family!! I live in Ctr Barnstead but make the trip for their Chicken Cordon Bleu prepared to bring home and cook in their meat department!! Service with a smile!!!

Great little place, we stop in fairly often since we are local, and bring every guest when someone is visiting. Customer service okay, prices are okay, but overall, if you are in the area, you should definitely stop here.

Ive been stopping and shopping at Calefs (the small white one, not the big tourist one) for years. Ive always found the meat selection to be top rate and fairly priced with the weekly deals worth waiting for. The staff has always been helpful each time Ive visited with the same charm you expect in a New England Country store. The only thing that might put someone off is they have a lot of stuff in a small space. But I actually like it! I highly recommend the Extra Sharp cheddar cheese they have made just for them along with their own smoked slab bacon. And every steak is a treat. 5 out of 5 stars

Not many of these small mom and pop stores left! Meat quality is the best in the area. Sandwiches are awesome and reasonably priced. Lunch for under $10 still exists!

They just remodeled the store and they made it even better. Ive been shopping here for years. The butcher department cannot be beat. Ive never got a bad cut of meat at George Calefs fine food. Please dont confuse this store with the other Calefs in Barrington, that place is a tourist trap and should be avoided.
