It was extremely delicious! Especially the tacos de tripas (intestines) and their salsa con cilantro was almost as good as my home made salsa.

I was so disppointed, thee other day I went to go get some Pan Dulce cause its the only place around gere that carries it. Well I wont be going back, there was Nats flying around the bread in the bread case, didnt really notice them until I was closing the case. Then when I closed the case there was a cockroach when I told the young lady about it she said let me get a rag. If you dont want the bread you can leave it....UM yeah Im leaving it why would I feed my family food that had bug contact. I was so happy to finally find a Mexican place that had Mexican bread...too good to be true..

Ive eaten all over the world. Germany, the UK, India (allll over India), Mexico, Argentina -- this joint is AMAZING. The salsa is the BEST Ive ever had. The pupusas are on point. The fried plantains with crema--fantastic: soft and mushy, with just a tiny bit of burn. Geez. I love Batesville, partly because of this place.

It was better than any other place that I have found in Arkansas so far but it still is better than nothing.

Such great Mexican food and priced well (great value). Very casual, more like a canteen than a restaurant. Easy to aslo pick up supplies and Mexican ingredients from the market on your way out. Highly recommended for authentic Mexican food. Probably the best in Batesville.

Great little cantina inside a Mexican store, I little hidden gem serving authentic south of the border food. Try the Tortuga and ask for the Verde sauce. This little place seats 50.

The selection here can be limited, but they carry a lot of great ingredients that cant be found elsewhere in town. Staff members are very personable.

Ive been frequenting this wonderful Mexican store for many years now. Over the course of this time Ive spent a lot of money here, but more importantly Ive had some really amazing, educational, and just positive experiences and memories here. Its really sad to witness a place go downhill so fast. I came in a while back, probably 3-4 weeks ago and there were all new staff. They explained to me that there was a new owner. We had this conversation in Spanish. The new staff there that day were very polite to me, and (most importantly, they spoke to me in Spanish when I addressed them in Spanish). Since this initial visit after their change of ownership Ive been three times, with each experience worse than the last. Today was my final visit here. I came in after a long hard day of work. I needed some chilis and some cilantro. I come here to buy these things because typically the products are higher quality that Kroger or Walmart. When I got to the front I addressed the young lady behind the register in Spanish, using the formal form of you no less. She didnt look at me, as she was on her phone. She just mumbled great. She started bagging my items into a plastic bag, I told her politely in Spanish, a bag isnt necessary. She looked at me as though I was insane, she asked in English with attitude You dont want a bag?. At this point I was frustrated not only with her lack of engagement with me as a customer and in my use of Spanish, but also with her overall negative and unfriendly attitude. I dont understand why someone acts so rude??? Im your customer, cmon. Finally, I asked her why she wouldnt speak to me in Spanish. She looked at me as though she could kill me, and says Do you speak any Spanish? At this point I came to the conclusion she was either deaf or just extremely rude!!!! Humbly, I say Alguno (some in English). She guffaws and aks Do you speak Spanish well, and then abruptly turns back to her phone. I had paid at this point, I took my things outside, but I brought them back in because I was so disgusted at this interaction. Ive had so many conversations in Spanish with staff members here over the years, this is why this interaction shocked me. If somehow the new owners read this, please tell your staff to humor us gringos who come inside your store and want to speak some Spanish. Ill start looking for a new tienda, I suggest anyone who reads this to do the same.
