The people that work at Am Mart are very nice and the sandwiches are top tier. I go about once a week I can’t get enough. Don’t just go for the cheap priced alcohol the food is where it’s at!

I am convinced that these are the best poboys in Baton Rouge. I have been going there for four years. The lunch special is very affordable, and the poboys are delicious. Try the Bahn Mi for something different!

The best poboy sandwiches, i stop by every chance I can. With drink and chips. Always made fresh and it being close to college campus an abundant amount of alcohol.

The cashier came from behind the counter and help me find exactly what I needed. She was very nice and polite. I havent tried their food yet but will be back to do so.

I’ve gone there a couple times, the staff isn’t friendly or helpful. I asked if they had a certain wine and the girl at the counter just pointed to the wall, I asked a question about their meal deal and she answered as if I wrote the menu and I’m supposed to know, other times they get angry and aggressive. The po boys are good but not worth the service. Plus the place is dirty and unorganized.

Used to love this place until I realized alot of their drinks, foods and products are fakes. I used to go there for sandwiches but then I started buying liquor and realized It may have been watered down . My friends and I bought 2 bottles of liquor and didnt feel squat . I also brought a vape pen from there that did not work and they refused to take it back saying Im chancing when I buy themSCAMMMMMM. Im never going to this store again and I hope other people see through the scamming they do,

I ordered two sandwiches and when I got to work realized the sandwiches were incorrect and the name on my order was incorrect. I called the store and shared with them that the order was incorrect and that the order did not have my name (someone elses name was on the wrapping) and they told me to return the order. When I arrived at the store the female clerk at the register chatted with a person whom I assumed was the owner/manager and showed him the document where she wrote down the order. She stated this is what she ordered---I stated I did not order a sandwich with peppers because I do not eat peppers. I stated I ordered pickles and not peppers. They refunded me my money and I then I requested to order 2 more sandwiches of which the young lady stated she could not take my order. I asked her are yall out of cajun turkey and she responded yes. I waited a couple of minutes and noticed other customers ordering cajun turkey. I asked the young lady again and she replied We not sell you sandwiches we gave you your money back. I said, thank you for refunding me my money, however, I would like to order two more sandwiches. The young lady responded again, We will not sell you sandwiches. I walked over to the deli counter and spoke with the manager and he stated, we have a right to refuse service to anyone, please leave my store. I asked, what is your reason for refusing service to me? He stated, you ordered sandwiches and returned them....I stated, so you are telling me that you are refusing me service because I returned 2 sandwiches of which your clerk wrote down the incorrect information . when I placed the order. I responded to the clerk and said, Sir, Ive been coming to this store for many, many years and Ive never experienced a problem. I share with friends, co-workers and family all of the time that the sandwiches are good and encourage them to patronize this business. I have been a part of the LSU community for over 25 years. He again, requested that I leave the store. At this point I began responding in ahighly agitated manner----I requested that they call the police. He stated he would not call the police. I stated, I know you will not because if what you were doing was right, you would have no problem calling the police, however, you know what you are doing is wrong, therefore, you will not. I stated, I would never enter this store again. The fact that the clerk took my order incorrectly and then blamed her error on the customer is both insulting and appalling to me as a consumer. This store is in no way Customer Service Concerned or Friendly. They are only concerned with the money and not providing customer service. I will never visit this store again....my many years of patronizing has ended.

This place is the shining light in the darkness of overpriced sandwiches in baton rouge. Do yourself a favor and GO. Get the cajun turkey dressed however you like and thank me later. You cant beat the deal 7.50 for a GOOD sandwich, 20oz fountain drink and a snack size potato chips.

Take this order to the employee behind the sandwich counter- Cajun turkey with provolone (no pickles for me), add jalapenos- then give them your name. This is a sandwich that will become one of your top 10 of all time. The wait is about 3-5 minutes since other sandwiches are likely ahead of you, but grab a fountain drink (included with your sandwich) and be patient. You are 3-5 minutes away from a happy belly.

This place has been a BR institution for almost 30 years. They make some seriously yummy sandwiches that are a great deal (big stuffed pitas and po boys that come with Zapps chips and a drink), and an awesome selection of drinks, snacks, and groceries. They also have a pretty extensive selection of wines, ranging from some decent bargain bottles up to pretty high end selections.

CONSUMER BEWARE. I bought 2 powerades today that were 2 for $3 and they charged me $3.50 with tax. They are overtaxing customers and are likely just pocketing it. Why, when you control the price of everything in the store? Pay attention to your receipt.

With no apologies to the chain sandwich shop just down the road, this place is the BEST lunch deal in the Nicholson & Brightside area. $7 gets you a nice sized po-boy, bag of Zapps and a 20oz. fountain drink. Nice local corner market run by friendly staff. You should make this your regular lunch stop if you live or work in the area.

The quality of the sandwich has gone down big time :( The new kids at LSU probably wont notice, but for those of us who have been coming here for almost 20 years, its a very noticeable difference. Specifically the quality (and quantity) of the deli meat they are using. Im assuming its a cost-cutting measure AND they continue to raise the price so... Im VERY sad to say that I dont think well be returning.
