Its like a thrift store for children but it has name brand stuff and more. Things for new borns to children thats at least 10years of age. I got all the time for my babies.

Stopped by today to sell my daughters clothes, and then they come up saying that they were going to return half of the clothes because they weren’t folded, and they were tear up and faded 😒 which is ridiculous because they all were in good conditions. Then they came up giving me $45 in return with all the good stuff. Plus I brought them a Step2 Wagon and a playhouse critters which they gave me for both $35 . I was very unsatisfied !!! Knowing that they sell their stuff in a higher price which everything is a second hand clothes and toys.
Very unorganized and customer service is horrible. Stood in line for 10 minutes as 3 customers went ahead of me she proceeded to tell me after I shook my head at the 3rd person to cut in front of me and said ma’am the line starts down here but yet never said anything the multiple times she and her other 2 coworkers looked at me and for the 10 minutes I stood there and told her she seen me standing there for 10 minutes and could’ve said something then. Save to say I’m done doing business it’s this company.
I was able to purchase necessities for my baby-to-be at less than half the regular cost. Items were of good quality and the staff was very friendly.
Not a lot of selection, but staff is helpful and clothes and toys are clean and in good condition.
I am highly disappointed in the service. I brought my kids clothing, shoes, etc. to sell. They passed on almost everything. Didn’t bother me much. I received $8 for a basket cover, infant sandals, a jean jacket, and some shirts. Again didn’t bother me much. They do tend to low ball at this location as well as the New Orleans location. The issue today was the items this location passed on. I have 3 kids to tend to so my attention was not all the way there when picking up the passed on items. To my realization in getting home (after a 30 min drive there and back) (not to mention the rude service, the long wait, and the fact that they only gave $8) I REALIZE THEY DIDNT GIVE ME BACK ALL MY ITEMS. They decided to keep 2 pairs of crocs 2 pairs of sneakers new balance and Jordan’s both in box and a pair of vans. They assumed or maybe they actually did make a mistake but they didn’t know who they were for so they kept them. I called spoke to Rachel and she quickly offered me money for them. This was shocking as it seemed they were trying to steal them. Again I mentioned I wasn’t close and 30 mins out. She didn’t seem to care much. I called to speak to the manager Kelly about the situation because after closely thinking about the situation I was extremely uncomfortable not only having to fill a tank up again but they couldn’t even give me an idea of an offer over the phone so that I could decide what to do next as the cost of going to get the items after the store forgot or chose not to give them back. The inconvenience of the whole situation isn’t sitting right. To my luck manager Kelly isn’t even available till Monday. I am completely dissatisfied and would like for everyone to double check their items as I don’t believe this store is being completely honest.
I’ve sold to OUAC a few times, my first couple experiences were pretty decent. Didnt have too many problems. The problem I have with my most recent experience is that I brought a full basket of clothes up there, half of them brand new & never worn, some even still on the hangers I bought them on. My baby outgrew alot of clothing quickly so I brought what doesnt fit him. They gave me $13 for what they wanted to buy, no problem. I asked what was wrong with the rest of the clothes & the lady working said “stains & wear and tear”. I dont appreciate being lied to. Like I said half the stuff they didnt buy, was NEVER worn, torn, or stained. Nonetheless, I thanked her and left.
We love OUAC! Its so easy and quick to sell and perfect for this stage of our life with kids outgrowing clothes so fast! Everything in the store is clean and organized. Makes shopping fun!
Where do I begin?From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and truly appreciated.I brought clothes to sell, mostly name brands, and received a very generous offer.. Which, I ended up spending on other clothes from the store!Such a wide selection for every age, even with shoes and toys!I will certainly be back, and will definitely send some friends!
Normally I dont care that they dont buy everything. But today they wanted only 2 shirts and claimed everything else was faded. Uhm the pants that go to those 2 shirts were only worn once, how was it faded? There were khaki uniform pants that my son only wore for 3 weeks. But sure it has wear and tear. Ive literally seen faded things for sell in the store.
Didnt have a while lot of time to browse or shop, but I did experience selling to Omce Upon A Child, and it was delightful. I was given a fair amount back for the itmes I sold. Will be going back to shop for my littles soon. Five out of five stars from me.
I sell upper scale clothing and be honest this location gives me a much higher price. I guess the employee they higher are able to see the difference between low scale and high scale!!!!!!!
This place has become one of my favorite must stop places in BR whenever Im in town visiting or just passing through. Found some really awesome stuff for my kiddo each stop.

Worse customer service ever! I we t to once upon a child in austin and they have dresses under $3.00 and bottoms under $2. But here in BR dresses over $6.5 and bottoms over $4.00 so expensive! Thy will buy your clothes for dollar and sell it for higher prices! They will only buy what they want and tell your clothes has stains wow even with tag has stains?????? Please train your employees very well so they’re not rude! My go to baby gift are the onesies. I feel like a new Mom can never have too many. I also love the Wubba Nubies pacifiers for new Moms. My daughter loved hers so much that when we had to let them go she looked all over for them, as there were always several in case one was lost. Unfortunately the reason it was let go was because she was chewing on them.Why does it always have funky smell in the store?
Every time I go shopping foe my twins they have an excellent selection. I always find everything I need from clothes to dress clothes and at great prices!

I wasnt sure what to expect walking in to a gently used store but wow, I was amazed.Their clothes are awesome, employees are SO HELPFUL and so sweet! They asked me about my day, asked if I needed help, and even helped me find something I wasnt even looking for hahaWill DEFINITELY be going back and recommending to EVERYONE!!!

I will never be back to this store again.I call and they tell me yes bring clothes up there so I do then I get $9 and they give me half my clothes back I asked why, they tell me they was stained and torn infront of people in the store when I know my baby’s clothes wasn’t bc he doesn’t wear stuff like hat his clothes are new. Then I call when I left they said we didn’t have the room. Ok so you couldn’t say that instead of my baby’s clothes were nasty and torn no very rude and a lot of customers won’t be back. Thanks bye

The prices are fair enough. Annoyingly though out of nearly 3 laundry loads of baby clothes they only bought about 2 dozen items. I understand that that have to buy what they can sell quickly but i definitely feel they could have purchased far more of the items.
They charge too much for some items like garanimal stuff cost more at once upon a child than it does at Walmart. I sold a very gently used pack and play with the whole nine yards I paid 200$ they said they buy it for 30$ The turn around and sell it for 150$ smh 🤦♀️ I understand they need to make money as well...but wow!!!
They wont buy very much from you. Just depends what theyre needing. The prices are pretty high considering theyre second hand.
I always leave with a load of clothes for a great price.

You can even bring in clothes or toys your kids dont use or fit anymore and get money or store credit that can go towards something else your kids need. Staff are super friendly. Highly disappointed! They bought 19 items from me including a Calvin Klein suit that was worn once, 2 button down Polo shirts worn twice, several pairs of Nike shorts, a Perils polo shirt and several other items and only paid me $49!!! Sell your nicer things on your own. Not worth it!!!
Ive made attempts to sell with them a few times and its usually a hit or miss. They used to have a really sweet, young crew that worked there..now, not so much.

When you walk in the store smells wonderful and everything is well organized. I had very good service, they were pleasant each time I talk to them and overall it was a great experience. Some of the things I brought in they bought some of them they didnt, but I left as a happy customer who will return.

I love shopping and saving! I can buy new or used clothes or baby items with out going broke. They have a lot of name brand clothing and shoes.
The clothes and baby items are all in fairly decent condition, many have new tags on them. The store is well organized and clean. Very pleasant atmosphere. Staff could be a bit more hospitable. Selling items isnt worth it because you dont get much for items.

I tried to sell my kids gently used clothes, and most of them got rejected. They were in very good condition and nice. This isnt the first time either. Meanwhile I see clothes on the racks that were obviously taken, in nasty condition. I probably wont come back and try to sell, or buy for that matter.
The attitudes be better. They never give you what your items are worth, and whatever they dont accept they tell you the same thing every time: we didnt take them due to stains and wear & tear the only issue I have with that is the items they rejected were never worn, my grandbaby never got around to getting in them. They were straight out of Buy Buy Baby. 🤷🏾♀️

Great place - well organized & excellent prices for truly “gently used items.” Friendly staff every time I’ve been there- now 5 times. You can save a lot of money on large items such as strollers, swings, Pack n plays & such that would normally cost considerably more when new. Clean children’s clothes -some still with tags on them. No stale smell like in similar stores.
Great store for slightly used childrens clothing and tour. A perfect stop for special occasions, costumes, event clothing and shoes. All the personnel are friendly and fast. They will take your items, price them and pay you on the stop very quickly, no leaving your items and returning later. You can shop while they access your items and use the money toward new items if you like.
This is my favorite place to buy kids stuff. Prices are usually a lot better than buying new and I have found some great stuff, including clothes, shoes, toys, and baby gear. Most recently I bought a baby swing and stroller. You can save even more if you bring in some gently used stuff to sell and sign up for their rewards program. I always stop by when they send coupons.
I have to say I’m used to being ignored cuz I have kids, but to make an appointment and then stand around for another 10 minutes then some rude lady comes and says they don’t take that. You could have said that when I called and specifically asked and then you saw me come in the door with them. Never will I come here again to buy or sell

The employees are always rude. They have so much trouble keeping the items we bring in organized. They havent been able to find my items on several occasions. Such an unfriendly atmosphere.Update....Ive been a couple of times since my last review and it seems to be better. At least when I was in it was better. Cleaner store and staff was nicer than before.

Called ahead to sell some things. Told its by appointment only, make apt, wait 1 hour, get there 5 mins before apt. Check in, wait around for 45 minutes, watch several people come in who say they do not have apt, they are signed in and their stuff put in line right behind mine. After standing around for 45 minutes I ask how long it usually is and am told its first come first serve, Ill just have to wait Wasted 2 hours of my time.
This place is usually pretty good but this time they lost what I dropped off and only bought one item out of three boxes of clothes and shoes. Pasted on two pair of twice worn boots worth 30.00 a pair and bought one pair of baby boots for .90 so I drove 20 miles for .90 smh sad
One Upon A Child is a resale shop that carries childrens clothing, shoes, toys and books. They also buy items in good condition.This is a store that I had heard about for many years but I didnt have any small grandchildren. I have added two new babies to the crew this past year so I am visiting Once Upon A Time every couple of months.So far, I have found that they have some awesome end of the season sales. For instance, you can pick up Onsies for babies at 20 for $10.00. This is a super deal and you can get all you need for the following season. Or you can buy two different sizes to make sure your baby will have the correct sizes. You can afford to do this at this price. The clothing is mostly in like new condition and they have a lot of stock to choose from.Other than the sales, the clothing in the store is well organized and arranged by size and gender throughout the store. They also have baby equipment for setting up a nursery. One of my daughters snagged a Graco Pack n Play for 20.00 that was in very good condition.I browsed the book section on my last visit and was pleased to find nice hard back books for children of all ages at reasonable prices.Overall, this is a great store for moms or grandparents who want to save some money on kids clothing but still buy nice brands of clothing in good condition. They are located on the southern side of town on Airline Highway. Its worth the drive!

I love this place specifically if you have small children. You can buy them clothes here for a good price and excellent conditions. But... if you have clothes in good condition u can bring them here and get money for it.

I went many times and the service is very bad. The employees are very moody and seem to not like what they do. The conditions of things that are bought changes each time I go the store.Each time I go I sit and wait and no one helps you just have to sit there and wait till they decide they want to help you! Then they are rude about how they look over your items. Just not a friendly place.Lets talk about the purchasing of items(and here is why I say the condition of items is all about the mood there in at the time), I went and asked for a item to be taken down when PURCHASING clothing. It was a table for a toddler, and I had to ask more then once and was told,Its missing pieces! And nope the employee didnt take it down even though I said it doesnt matter I still want to look at it!!!So, yes its a neat concept to go to the store, but the workers are not nice and they dont want to help. If you are there to sell your items, just hope that they are in a good mood at the time!

I have heard of this store by word of my sister in law, so I figured why dont try my luck in selling and buying some clothes. The first time I attempted to sell, there was a one to three hour wait. I wasnt in the mood to come back at 4:00 pm for one thing and I live on the other side of town. My partner works further down on Airline highway, so I figured that I would kill two birds with one stone by heading to Once Upon A Child. I brought my daughter some shirts, dresses and two pairs of pants, which fit her well. I wouldnt mind buying from there again, but I dont know about selling. They seem notoriously picky. I rather I send gently used items to Goodwill and get a tax write off.
Great concept, some things are priced well and some things are not. You really need to know your prices. But overall, it has a great selection of merchandise.
I did not have a great experience at all the employees are not friendly and welcoming. They had very stink look on their faces. I visited here on Thursday to sell some items it was my first and last time. For things that you pay umps amount of money for they dont even give you half its like their giving two dollars per item if that. I brought 2 pair of lightly worn Jordans 1 pair of boots. A Polo sleep wear outfit and some other items and they only gave me like 21 dollars. For all of my belongings. I was like wow. Thanks for nothing.
I like going to this store and I always have but lately the workers have been very rude and tonight I walked in the store at 7:40 because my son needed some cheap shoes to play basketball the next morning. None of the workers greeted me when I walked in. I didn’t find any shoes and I begin to leave the store at 7:44. As I left the store 1 worker said “have a good evening”. I’m in awe as no one greeted me as I walked in but are excited to tell me to have a good evening so I brought it her her attention that she didn’t greet me but had the audacity to tell me that. I won’t go back.
Its a consignment store for goodness sakes! They sell USED clothes. Not everything is going to be perfect and shiny. I found their prices to be extremely reasonable. They quality is better than a thrift store for sure. You do have to have time to rummage through things, but I found quite a few gems. I havent tried to consign with them, but it is their right to refuse to sell what you have. I find a lot of ladies are really unreasonable when it comes to what they expect their items to resell for from my experience on other sites. Each time I have gone in the staff has been very friendly and helpful. Everyone has a bad day. The store was clean and smelled good. Yes, cluttered, but I liked that bc they had A LOT of options.
Its alright to shop here when you have a little time to go through everything but I wouldnt try to sell to them. I would rather have a yard sale. Some of the workers are snobby and need to have a better attitude. It could also be more organized on the racks. Its so cluttered I can sometimes barely get to the clothing.

The best place for childrens clothes, toys, etc. We have shopped here since the birth of our girls! They have better than average clothing. I can appreciate how picky they are because it shows on the racks, where every piece is special and not just ordinary.

Tried to sell toys to them today and no one seemed to know what was going on or give a straight answer for when my items would be ready or even after they were ready and I got a phone call they still had no idea what was going on. It was a cluster. I generally don’t have any problems with them but today was just horrible.

If you plan on selling items, do yourself a favor and keep driving. A complete waste of time. Just donate your clothes somewhere else instead - that would be more worth it.

Great selection of nice, gently used clothes. Some disorganization and the aisles are super close together. I love the little buggies they have now.
Its a good place if you bring your kids and their car seats theyre carts are not big enough to put your kid car seat in the cart.
I like going to the store and have found many bargains at first, but as time goes on I have found that the prices have gone up and quality is dropping. I went yesterday to sell some very nice clothes, dresses all brand names and in excellent shape, clean and ironed and laid neatly in a box. The sales rep told me it would take about an hour and they would call me when they were ready. I left the store, and about 45 minutes later the associate called and said that that I could come and pick up my cash. I returned to the store 15 minutes later, and a different associate told me that she thought it would be a few more minutes and I told her that the associate behind her had called and said it was ready. She turned and told the other associate I was there, the associate brought the box to the desk and said that although the clothes were in excellent condition, that they just were not what they were looking for and they did not accept any of them. I asked her why she told me to come and pick up my cash, all she said was she was sorry for the misunderstanding. So I took my box and donated them to Goodwill. I will not be returning to the store, there seems to be something suspicious going on.
It would be a better idea to donate your little ones used clothing. The pennies they offer you for your high quality clothing is a waste of your time. I will not be going back.
I have been several times to this store and am very disappointed! I attempted to sell them some clothes on several occasions, most from Gap and Childrens Place, and most with very little wear. They keep telling me that they have spots or look worn which is not true. It seems to coincide with the mood of the staff on that particular day. However, when I go and look at the items on the rack, Ive found holes in jeans and stains in shirts. Now I would like someone to tell me why they return my clothes to me (some have only been worn once or twice) and they take some of the clothes that Im seeing on the rack. I can go to Childrens Place and pay the same amount as some of the shirts on their rack. I have shopped at other Once Upon A Child stores and they have been much better with much nicer staff than this store. Needless to say, I will not be shopping here again or selling my clothes to them again.
Ive bought a few big items (stroller, bouncy saucer thing, bumbo, and etc) at this store and kept those items for about 2-3 months and then tried to resell back to them after my child grew out of it. Some items I never used so It was in the SAME condition as I bought it, but they did not want to buy them back for different reasons. Stains or battery compartment was corroded). It was ridiculous because I bought it from that store like that. Most of the shoes are in bad condition, not gently used at all. Ive bought shirts with stains and didnt realize till I took it home to wash it and removed the tags to do so. The people arent very friendly. This could be a great store. The people need to be friendlier and more selective and consistent in their buying process.

I love shopping at Once Upon A Child! It is pretty well organized and has a good selection of baby clothes at fair prices (I have only shopped for NB-6 months so far so it is all I can speak to.) The clothing is gently used and I have rarely seen items w/ big stains, tears, or holes. Yes, it can feel a bit cluttered like most consignment stores do since we all want them to buy our own used clothing, but it is easy to move around and sort through the cIothing. I have also sold clothing to them and that process was easy, though you will most likely want to drop off early and go back later since they have a lot to sort through. I also love the frequent buyer stamp cards plus the bonus of getting a stamp if you bring your own bag. The employees are generally friendly and check out time is quick.

When it first opened it was great! Now though the quality has gone way down and the prices have gone up. They refuse perfectly good clothes because of fade or something else very minor. Yet when I shop in the store there are clothes that I constantly find with holes and stains, and some marked more than what the tags say people paid for them! I am thinking that they are buying from people they know and disregarding the rules for them. Sad really.
Very bad experience. I brought 4 totes of practically brand new items and they refused all most all of it. Name brand items like Childrens Place, Gap and Carters. The lady helping me didnt seem enthused at all and was not helpful. I have been several times to this store to buy clothes but I wont go back if they are going to treat customers like that.
Love this place. Everyone is always nice when you walk in.
