Great place for breakfast/lunch. Affordable, friendly service, and unique diner atmosphere that you cant find at a chain restaurant. The food is really good, made to order and good portions. The Bay Cakes are some of the best pancakes Ive had in a long time.
Stopped in with my young kids one day and truly had a memorable experience. They got what they all wanted to eat and the food was so good that I didnt have to find other means of entertainment. Our server was very friendly, and the patty melt was PERFECT. Seriously, PERFECT.

This place was recommended to me by my physical therapist oh, and it did not disappoint. My head one of the best omelettes Ive ever had. The Omelette could not have been cooked more perfectly. If you like tater tots like I do, this is one of the few places that you can get them! Extremely friendly and attentive staff. I will definitely be back.
Always great food, whether its Breakfast or Lunch and the staff is always friendly. You will find it hard not to order breakfast, but the Gyro and Black and Blue Burger are highly recommended, and if you do go with Breakfast, the pancakes are excellent (and huge) but my main go-to is the Country Fried Steak. The only downside is that even at full capacity, the place is so popular theres almost always a wait at peak times, but that speaks to their quality I suppose!
Terribly rude staff. Extremely rude owner and waitress. Show some respect to your frequent customers. Have some decency and learn to treat people!
Quiet, cozy and unassuming is the best way to describe the dining experience at this diner. Easy to miss in the corner of a plaza but well known and quite popular as the place was practically full shortly after it opened. Service is speedy, pleasant and right on point with big portions and reasonable prices.

Good American breakfast. We have just moved here and visited a couple of times. Itβs a great close by no-frills option for people in Bay Village / Westlake.Today, however, we grabbed a Protein Shake and an Americano from another place before stopping by at Bay Diner. Turned out, they wouldnβt allow us in, even though their menu clearly is not designed to make money with drinks (while the other place is clearly not designed to make money with breakfast... so not even a real competitor).Eventually, they stayed adamant to not have us seated because of drinks that they donβt even serve.Considering an expected breakfast bill over $25-30 and the fact that their coffee is sold for $1.99, that sounds like a lose-lose for everybody.Iβm sure we couldβve made up for the missed $1.99 by tipping a little more generously or just buying that coffee in addition to the drinks we already had... itβs certainly not about avoiding βcostsβ, but about supplementing my breakfast with things they simply do not offer.Hopefully, they will think about a more customer-friendly way to deal with preferences that are not tooooo unusual. Maybe just offer your own protein shakes, smoothies, espresso and put that on the menu or be more lenient with non-competitive add-ons that people may want to combine with their breakfast.Again, itβs a great cozy spot and overall a fun place to be in the morning.

I visit this excellent restaurant every couple of days because I love the ambiance that is exist in this restaurant. The staff is exceptionally friendly and experienced. The service is exceptionally rapid. Most important, the food you eat is first-rate. I came more than once and I was always pleased. The rate is modest. I highly suggest this restaurant to to all.

The service is excellent. The food is diner food - nothing that wowed me, but not disappointing either. Their Reeses cup pancakes and waffles are decadent, but a bit to sweet for me, personally.I love to support local businesses, but the food is general diner food that you can get anywhere. It doesnt taste like its made from scratch. It also wasnt the cheapest.

If you have a party larger than 4, then you should probably dine somewhere else. They do not pull tables together because it would temporarily inconvenience the wait staff. They also are unable to place a chair at the end of a booth. So the largest party size they are willing to accommodate is a party of 4. The worst part is that when I put my name down on the wait list, there was no mention that they canβt actually seat 5 people. We waited for 35 minutes before my oldest son asked about why people who arrived after us are being seated before us. Even with a smaller party the service is not good. I had to ask for a refill of water. The food is really good, but with the service being sub par, and their inability to accommodate my family, I guess we will not be going back.

Wow! This is a new favorite for me and the Mrs. When we first walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome and promptly showed to a table. The environment was very cozy, just the type of place we were looking for. Our food came out fast and it was delicious! My only complaint is that I couldnβt stay longer!
A classic breakfast and lunch spot. The most important thing about places like Bay Diner would be the coffee. Ive never had a bad cup, or meal. Fresh food, served quickly and cheerfully and at a reasonable price.

I have gone to Bay Diner many times since I live within walking distance, however today we had a horrible experience and I doubt I will be returning any time soon if at all. When we went there were 2 people on the wait list in front of us. I put my name down for a party of 5, plus a highchair. I asked if we could push two tables together instead of a booth because that would be easier for our party and was told that would not be a problem. Right after I got there, 5 or 6 other parties came in and were waiting. Multiple parties were seated before us, despite 3 tables and 2 booths being cleared. When I asked the worker why we were not being seated, he said he was waiting for a specific booth in the corner. We were upset because the point of a wait list is to seat people as they come in as tables become available. We were not asking for the whole diner to be put together for us, just two tables, which ended up being cleared and given away. We should not have been waiting for more than 30 minutes when several tables had been cleared and parties that came in 10-15 minutes after us were seated.
I go to this special place often as I enjoy the special air that is unique to this restaurant. The team is exceptionally loving and well trained. The service is remarkablywonderfully efficient. Most important, the food they serve is outstanding. I have been there many times and I was always delighted. The price is reasobable. I recommend this place to my friends and family.
Busy little place! But they make the most of their space. Met up with grandkids for an early (9:00) Sunday brunch. Only about a 3 min wait for a table. We enjoyed their tasty, generous helpings of eggs, french toast, hash browns, bacon, tater tots, toast and hot coffee. Friendly staff. Didnt feel rushed.
As soon as I arrived the hostess greeted me with a big smile and she was just so lovely. I had an amazing server and my food came out fast. They make the best eggs too! I will definitely be eating here again.

A true Bay Gem. Its a friendly place to go for a bite to eat in the traditional diner style. The decor is flavored with local Bay history and sights to see. The food is as you would expect, good and affordable. I generally go for breakfast on the weekends and its always full but the wait is nevwr terribly long.
We stopped here on our way home from our hotel after the Browns game. It was an adorable diner with large portions of delicious food. I hate a chorizo omelette and it was pretty spicy but still wonderful. The hash browns were perfectly crispy on top. My husband had the big breakfast and it was huge!

DONT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE IF ALLERGIC TO ANY TYPE OF SEAFOOD. Dinky little diner(using that word a bit loosely) in a strip mall. I brought my mother here after looking at the reviews thinking it would be a nice little place to go. Food has little to no flavor of its own unless you like the taste of fish as we found out when my mother started eating her tater tots and commented about how they tasted like fish. We talked to one of the workers and found out they fry everything in the exact same oil in a single fryer. Shrimp, chicken, fries, tots, fish, doesnt matter, into the fryer it goes. Cleanliness isnt the greatest either, shoes stick to the ground and the menus had food smeared all over them. All in all we were EXTREMELY dissatisfied in the place based on the reviews it had. Fairly certain half the reviews are fake now scrolling through and taking a look. A lot of generic no picture local guide profiles leaving nothing but five star reviews on literally everything with suspiciously similar remarks.
Pancakes were wonderful. Staff is attentive and friendly. Enjoyed our time there and will be back. They have homemade potato chips...yumπ

Food was decent. I enjoyed the pancakes and having tater tots is neat. Still, I dont see myself ever coming back here because of policies that they are adamant about. So much so that they have it posted on their door. This place doesnt allow outside drinks. However, their coffee leaves a lot to be desired. The fact that I cant bring better coffee with me loses my business completely. Alternatively if they had good coffee instead of what you would expect from a diner then it would be ok, but enforcing that rule kills the deal. Especially since there are so many other good breakfast spots and diners in the area.

Usually it is ok but lately has been getting worse and worse. Today may be our last time here. My omelet tasted like plastic. Almost like the eggs are fake. My wife ordered the French toast platter. The scrambles eggs came out very under done, runny to say the least! When asked how our meal was we told them mediocre at best. They asked why and when told them all we got was two half hearted apologies. Not can we correct this at all.
