I have to agree with El F.s from Yelp assessment of this place. Ive gone to this store periodically since they opened in 2012. I just never really felt good vibes from the owner every time Ive been in the store. Unless I really am looking for something I need and dont feel like going into the city or driving to other stores in New Jersey, I will go here reluctantly. Why do I feel this way? Mike the owner seems to always have disdain and disgust towards the customers when I see him. When you go into the store, youre already under surveillance from him that youll pilfer something from the store. Plus, if you ask for the availability of a current issue, youll get attitude that if its not our there then they dont have it. Ive unfortunately found myself going here the past few months more than Id like to because of the pandemic. I dont want to go to my usual stores in the city so I went here since its closer. That wont likely be happening any more. Ill just go somewhere else. When Ive paid or ask for the availibilty of an issue, its always the same snotty attitude where he talks down to you. Thats ok. He has other customers to support his business so he doesnt need mine. Id rather go to another comic store than put up with this. Im a long time comic collector who frequented the previous comic shops in Bayonne such as Vector Comics, Earth One, and Bayonne Comic Center. Manifest wont be one of them in the future. Maybe with a better attitude towards customers, the store might last 39 years like Vector Comics did.

The store price gouges Magic the Gathering products. MSRP on products is much lower on Amazon with free shipping. Like 40% lower.I bought a price gouged Magic item in order to support small businesses and the owner topped off the experience by being rude. I called to complain afterward and the owner was aggressive and told me I was not welcome there anymore. Didnt even attempt to hear me out or apologize for the experience. This is why small businesses fail.

Dont know much about comics but the place was nice looking the guy helped my friend out and he got whatever he needed while selection of comics. my friend went for magic cards and the guy gave him a free promo pack of cards where he got a foil card.

Took my son and he didnt want to leave. They have a well rounded selection for all types of comic book lovers.

Manifest Comics is a great place and the staff are very friendly! I’ve been a Manifest Comics veteran for over four years now and I’m very thankful Bayonne has a local comic book shop. The interior of the store is clean, organized, and pretty much nerd heaven. The staff is always willing to help and I’m pretty much there every new comic book day as soon as the doors open.

Probably the best shop I’ve been in, year there are bigger shops with more books but that doesn’t make them better. The owner is personable, he genuinely cares about his clients! He will chat with you about anything and everything, he’s very knowledgeable and can answer about any question you have. We go to his store at least once a month but would love to go more we’re about 45 min away and honestly would prefer to go here then my local shop.I would highly recommend this store, his prices are great, he has a ton of back issues, always has new books, has graded books and great key wall books out for non astronomical prices like other stores try and upcharge you for. The owner is in a lot and truly takes care of his store right, you can tell by how he talks about his books and how he speaks to his customers that he’s a great business owner. Love this store !

My first experience with comics and the staff was willing to explain and show me how things work. They made sense out of the comic world to me. Really neat store. The rating is not in comparison to any other store but my personal experience with this particular store.

Im always a sucker for a local comic shop, and this one is great. I get my pull list from them each week, and its always a pleasant experience. Mike, the owner is very friendly, as is his crew, and hes happy to help you find something, order something for you, or just chat.Im not much of a tabletop gamer, but if you are, theres a large space in the back for those who are. I could easily get my books online, but I really like stopping in for the atmosphere, and it always feels good to support a local business.Also of interest, Mike co-hosts a podcast called Geek 101 which is pretty entertaining, and worth checking out.

There sadly arent too many comic shops left, and the ones that are left are mostly in Manhattan. I was pleased to find one so close to home. Just a quick hop on the Light Rail, and youre at a small but cozy and inviting good old fashioned comic book store. The guys there are friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable; they put away and hold books upon request, and clue you in on special events and deals happening each month. Even if you dont live in Bayonne, I suggest every fanboy and fangirl make a day trip up to this wonderful fortress of comictude.

This was my first time shopping in this shop. I went in specifically to buy holders for cards from a card game. I was new to this so I didnt know very much about the specific things I was looking for. The owner, whom I dealt with once at a festival while promoting his shop and who was very nice, was on shift. I asked about what I was looking for and immediately felt this interaction was completely different from the last time I had run into him. He was very condescending and unhelpful. When asked about buying sleeves to put specific cards in, he showed me what he had, but was more concerned in the reason I was buying the sleeves. He told me I shouldnt even be buying them if I didnt feel as though what I was doing was for an investment and wanting to keep their value. How I should be sleeving entire decks and not just specific cards I wanted to play with. How its against the rules to play with cards in sleeves. Even when I said this is something only me and a friend at work are doing for fun, he still insisted on explaining that its cheating and against the rules. He acted like this elitist nerd sterotype who felt as though I should know what I was doing since I stepped foot in his shop.I wound up just buying a box and a couple packs of cards. I didnt even buy the sleeves because it seemed like too much of an annoyance to deal with. Needless to say, I will not be visiting again. I wanted to support a local business but instead next time Ill be giving my business to Amazon.

This shop is ok I guess if all u want are comics but unfortunately they do not have statues more action figure and sadly enough the only cards they carry are Magic the Gathering also a nice space for tournaments but unfortunately no tournament for Pokémon nor yugioh which they don’t carry at least mind you every comic shop I have ever been too caters to everyone it’s unfortunate to not have an actually comic shop with these thing instead of just comics...

I come here regularly, always have a great time. FNM is a lot of fun and attracts a solid crowd.

I consider this place to be the chilliest place on Earth. Not just does it have a wide verity of comic books, but the environment there is appealing too. It has a room where you could relax and enjoy reading comics, and the workers at the store are the nicest a store could offer, with a great knowledge of comic books and games that you can spend hours just talking to them and never get bored. Also, dont get me started on the gaming room. Sometimes the store offers video games, but it is all about the card and board games where it gets real. My friends and I would always drop off once a week and play card games. Moreover, the store tournaments are always fun, with a respectful environment, and there is always something for everyone.

I want to like this place more. Unfortunately, their hours are really inconvenient, and the male staff has a habit of mansplaining stuff to my wife, who has been into comics and games longer than most of them have been alive. A few tweaks, and this place could be really good.
