Very enjoyable meal. Very friendly staff.Devin was my waitress. Very friendly and attentive. She always made sure my drink was full. I can tell by the nature of the staff that the owner loves them and treats them well. A lot of tenure. Good sign that its well run. Highly recommend!!

The texrbook definition of a diner. Nothing fancy. Good food. Nice desserts. Excellent attentive service. Clean environment. The CHICKEN FLORENTINE is a standout. A large pounded piece of chicken breast wrapped around a spinach,feta and onion mixture. Very good.

Better last time i was here. Reached my quota of things wrong in my order. I hate sending food back, so i just deal with it. Owner was flipping out behind register. That is not a scene that should be displayed in a place of business. Not sure if I will go back. There are alot of options in the area.

Best diner Ive been to in a while. Ive passed it numerous times and noticed its always packed. So figured Id give it a try for breakfast. We ordered omelets and a small stack of pancakes, both were awesome. Service was great as well both waitress and manager/owner were checking in on us and how the food was. Will definitely be back.

I been here twice. The first time I enjoyed the food as well as my waitress.The second visit the food was kinda thrown together. There wasnt anything special about the burger. My grandmother and I both had bathroom issues after eating the food. Our waitress wasnt very attentive. We werent asked how the food was, I didnt get a refill to drink although I did wait for her to come back to ask her by that time we already got the check. It was very busy when we went And its understandable how we were kinda overlooked but I probably wont return back.

Today my family wanted to go to Sandcastle Diner. Its always been one of our favorite diners in the area. We called 40 minutes in advanced and asked if they could accommodate a table of 10 for a certain time. We spoke with someone named Justine who said they could accommodate us. We arrived at the time we agreed upon and told them that we called ahead for a table of 10. The woman at the counter rudely said well you didnt call here. After we told her the name of the person we spoke to, she then was quiet and said that Justine hadnt informed her of the call ahead. They said we would have to wait about 15-20 minutes and didnt even apologize for the misunderstanding or for being rude. We went into the waiting area to wait and explain to the rest of our family why we were waiting. My aunt said to the rest of our family that the situation was a bit disappointing. The owner overheard us talking amongst each other and raised his voice at us saying its our policy that we dont take call aheads. I dont know what to tell you. Were busy, where do you think you can sit in there? Ill wait for an answer. This was extremely rude and unnecessary, especially since it was not our fault that their employee had made a mistake. We know sometimes people make mistakes and we were going to continue waiting. However, the attitude and condescending tone of the owner was very disheartening. He was raising his voice at 2 middle aged women in front of my grandmother and a toddler. We will never go there again and we think others should be aware of this.

Great local diner. Food is good and staff is friendly. I think some of the dinner menu items seem a little expensive, but overall good experience.

Good burger & breakfast place, not so good on the dinners. Roast turkey was flavorless, sopping wet, laid over gray cornmeal&bread mush. “Turkey” gravy was flour & chicken stock with absolutely no flavor. But we’ve been there for burgers & fries, and breakfasts. So we just have to choose wisely next time we go. It is a classic Jersey Greek diner as some of the other reviews say, but we’ve been to better ones. Don’t rule this place out, just stick to the diner classic dishes here.

This has now become our favorite local diner. The owner and his staff are outstanding. Every meal we have had has been perfectly prepared and the burgers are absolutely incredible. Come hungry if you order of of those. Breakfast omeletts are excellent.

Theyre are highly priced and if you sit at the counter the staff treats you as thought you were invisible, they used to be good no more $18.00 for a breakfast sandwich and small juice and coffee, battling off flies to boot.

Basic dinner. Has a large menu, most of the servers are older teen girls and they are pretty nice. Food is decent and its like the only place in Bayville I like going to. For Bayville, its a great place.

Cant say enough good things about this diner. When every other diner from TR to Brick is sad and disappointing in either atmosphere or food quality Sandcastle is a breath of fresh air. The food is always fantastic, the staff is polite and attentive, and its great to see the owners son taking pride in his families business. The only complaint I have is that I wish they were closer to Hooper Ave. If your in the mood for diner food its worth the drive. 👌💯

Me and my daughter went there for lunch, Had one soup order of potato skins and a kids chicken finger meal the bill was $33 plus tip drinks alone were $8.75 for two apple juices and a root beer food wasn’t that good at all they used to be good, but their prices are through the roof now, I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon unless they change the price is higher for summer

A busy place and rightly so. I love corned beef hash and eggs for breakfast. This is no cheapo corned beef hash. Good stuff. The home fries are always soft and not overcooked. Good coffee. Good toast.

This was my first visit to the Sandcastle diner but it lives up to its reputation as a really friendly diner with great food.My sister and I ate outdoors since the weather was nice. Our server was very friendly and happy to explain the menu when I had questions.The kitchen was very fast and my sisters Reuben and my Tuna Melt were both delicious.I definitely need to stop back, now that I am the area on a regular basis. I love a good diner! They are so much a part of New Jersey! 😋❤

Ive been going to this diner since the 1980s. Im a local ocean county man and have always enjoyed this diner. Lately I dont know what happened. My food came out the other night and my blood pressure shot up twenty points ... The amount of salt the cook put in my fish and rice was rediculous. I ate half and the waitress who was excellent asked if I wanted something else which I didnt. And on top of not being able to enjoy my dinner I was constantly fighting sewer flies or fruit flies while trying to eat. I hope the owner john reads this and invests good money on a new exterminator and a new cook.

Used to love coming here when I was younger. Came in today for the first time in about a year and boy I was disappointed. Food was not cooked right. Ordered a hamburger well done and it was about medium rare. Sent it back and the second try was about a medium and I just ate about half and took the other half home to microwave it because I didn’t want to be a problem.Other than the food, I was quite annoyed at the comment a waitress made. There were two tables outside for their outside dining. The heater was turned off to the tent outside because there was previously nobody seated outside. Their waitress walked by with another waitress where I was seated inside, and she made the comment “Let them freeze” because she couldn’t figure out how to turn the heater back on, wish I found quite distasteful.It is conveniently located, as I live in Beachwood, but I do not think I will be coming back here again, which I find unfortunate, because I’d much rather support small local businesses, especially during these times.
