People need to come with an open mind. Yes, there were a lot of sours on the menu but they all didn’t taste like sours to me. Also, I’m not an IPA fan and I had the DIPA and it was by far my favorite beer. Friendly staff. Beer cans have great graphics. Cool logo. Would return. If you’re looking for outdoor seating my advice is come early! The place opened at noon on Sunday and by 12:30 p.m. tables were filled up!
Nice location next to the water, good location in Beacon. If you like sour beers this is a great location to go to in the Hudson Valley area. Really like their merch and logo. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Really enjoyed the pizza food truck while we were there.
The brewery only has sours on tap. A little more variety would be great. The staff was good. Outdoor seating was okay. I found this place to be nothing special, basic….
Really disappointed. My husband and I went here at night. They only had sour beers…like 20 different kinds. I don’t mind sours, but didn’t really like these. My husband is a beer connoisseur and doesn’t like sours, there was nothing for him to drink. Definitely a hipster-burn out vibe. They had stickers at the register, I’m not even that old, but I’m assuming this place is for a REALLY young crowd… Again, just really disappointed in their beer selection and the whole vibe was off putting.
Beautiful and delicious in every way. Try all of the flavors, 4 oz x 4 at a time. The pizza is better than any I’ve had in Brooklyn. Loved the staff, too. Spent hours here on Saturday and went back for a couple on Sunday because it was that good!
Good beer, strict rules about where you can eat/drink and no pets. Pizza from the truck was great!
Great selection of draft and to go beer in a really cool space. Food on site as well to go along with it all!
Great sour IPAs. Will convert any sour doubters. Integrated beers with robust smoothness. Not like so many other sours that are sour overly fruity beer. Wonderful, informed service. Glad to see them up and running post-COVID. A tad hard to find. Better signage in front would help. Everything else is A+.
The best sour beer selection in the NY area. They come out with weekly batches of new sour flavors. That means when they sell out, you may never see it again. They have a patio for outside sitting and doggies are welcome! I recommend getting the flight of tasters rather than committing just to one flavor, they are just all so different and unique, you don’t want to miss out.
Its a bit hard to get to using google maps... Make sure you turn down the side street and youll see a gravel road that leads to a brick and white warehouse with outdoor seating. The beers are quite good, in fact probably some of the best sours youve tasted. The seating inside is adequate, but a bit crowded. Definitely gets a thumbs-up for overall presentation of beers.
Very sedate vibe here, if thats your thing. Good for daytime tasting.
Sour beer is good. The pizza truck outside is AMAZING. The milk & honey pizza is MINDBLOWING good!
The place itself may not be much to look at, but its cozy and people come here mainly for the beer, the atmosphere is secondary. For those who might not be aware, the beer styles here are mostly Sour and Farmhouse. Dont expect your typical IPA or Stout. Hudson Valley focuses only on its specialties and does it really really well. They often have food trucks outside. Be prepared for long lines though as the beer here is in very high demand.
Definitely a standout brewery on the east coast. Must try sour beers. Unlike some tasting rooms there is plenty of space as well as seating. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and if you are feeling hungry there are food options as well. Bonus: Located in a beautiful little town that would make great for an overnight stay if traveling far.
I love this brewery!! Very friendly and helpful staff. Some of the best sours ever and the menu descriptions are phenomenally spot on. I was happy that they had a pilsner as well (my dad is a picky lager/pilsner only kinda guy and he enjoyed himself here too). We were there on Sunday and they also had delicious dumplings for sale inside, nice touch. We took some nice sours home and we will definitely be back!
Great spot to spend a couple hours with a group after hiking or exploring Beacon — tons of unique beers (heavy selection of fruity /sour ones) in beautiful glasses, plus a few snack options like spicy popcorn and jerky. There’s usually one food truck option available for real food. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but expect it to be crowded on fall weekends, with a crazy long restroom line. Will be back!
One of the best breweries around. I love driving inland from the Long Island Sound. HVB has #1 Farmhouse sours, lactose-y Double IPAs w fruit, stouts, and I especially like the tamer Pilsner and Black Lager 🍺 and always grab two bottles to age one! 🔥 favorites include blueberry lemon and earl grey, and the 11% cider crossover from last year! But Love them all.
Best brewery in NY! Great dog friendly outdoor area with food trucks.Dessert sour beers are out of bounds. They brew the most creative and imaginative styles. Im annoyed that they work to keep all of the beer drinking in house. I understand why since people like to take advantage and resell beer but I came up intending to bring a car full of sour beer home and they didnt have any of the styles I enjoyed available in bottles or crowlers.
Nice little spot with drinks and fresh wood fire pizza. If you arent a fan of sour beers then your options are a limited
Always really nice staff. Excellent beer. A bit hidden, get ready to take a sharp right after you turn left at the 4-way stop.
Known for their sour IPAs, but they excel at the other styles Ive had too- lagers, pale ales, farmhouse ales. Nice cozy place to hang out, or just get some cans to go. Lovely spot!
After being told by so many people to come here I finally did! And I am so glad I listened. After getting lost (the brewery in on the backside of what appears to be an abandoned building) I came in and the atmosphere was so warm and comfortable. The employees immediately greeted me and offered any help. The beer was amazing and while Im not usually a fan of IPAs the fruitiness of theirs takes it to a whole different level. Even the merch is cool (took home a hoodie) and the staff gave me some stickers on the way out.Next time Im passing through Ill definitely stop by for another round.
Great service! The person who helped me choose my beer did a great job 👏
Easily one of my favorite breweries in the world! The beer is dynamic, and unique, and delicious in all of the best ways. The staff is friendly, informative, and generous with their time. The taproom is light and airy, with plenty of seating and room to roam. Given the current state of things, we recently placed an order online and had a unique delivery request for them... their staff helped us out, and made the experience pleasant. If youre already a fan of this place this just further cements your feelings... but if youre considering making the trek to enjoy it in person, or considering ordering online... you cant go wrong, this place is just terrific.
Always an enjoyable time going to HV for beer pick ups, or when the tasting room is open, for enjoying delectable Sour IPAs on their outdoor deck. Great stuff.
Best sour brewery in the area. I drive over an hour to get beer and its amazing every time. They have great customer service and style. Sad they arent serving at the location yet, but with the pandemic going on it is understandable. Please open up soon!
Just went to check it out, very busy not crowded but lots of coming and going.very clean
One of the coolest breweries Ive been to and the beer was excellent. My only gripe was customers not understanding the line for beer. They had everyone coming in from the left side of the bar to order but people would then get their beer and NOT move. You constantly had to ask people to keep moving. Annoying customers aside, I cant wait to go back!
I wont even give it any stores it was dirty beyond belief the glass still had lipstick on it and the service had stained clothes and smelled it was absolutely disgusting
Some of the best sours you can get, very unique brews, beautiful location and town. Highly recommend.
Awesome sour and fruit beers! Great service. It’s got the warehouse type of atmosphere common among craft breweries, but also a large outdoor patio space. A food truck was there when we were.
Great beer and awesome people
Great draft beers, great prices and nice area highly recommend.
This brewery had amazing beer selection. Really enjoyed it during my time in upstate New York. Place was spacious and was honestly one of my favorite breweries ever. Shame its not in a more popular part of New York like one of the boroughs. None the less what a great place to stop by.
One of our favorite breweries to visit. Theres always a tasty, fruity beer on draft or a release. Depending on the day and time, the place has a different feel. The place can get crowded during releases, but there is adequate space indoors and outdoors (if its warm enough) to stand if not sit. Well make the trek out here every month (or more) from Manhattan since its worth it every time.
The quality of the beer is outstanding with an emphasis on sours. A great experience if you are into exploring different craft beers. The atmosphere is basic, its a large raw space with a bar - its all about the beer.
Easily one of the most pleasant brewery experiences we have ever had. We flew up from Florida, made this our #1 brewery stop, and are so thankful we did! Not only is their beer world-class, the employees are friendly and thoughtful. Natalie went above and beyond. We cannot wait to visit them again!
Fun spot for some good beer. Pretty dark in a good way
Excellent selection on tap, we have tried here a few times and love it 😍 would recommend if in the area.
Sour beers are good in the same way cigars are good: they aren’t, you basically pretend to like it until you get used to it. The sour fad has completely taken over the beer list here, and it’s pretty bad. They’ll have to change things up for me to come back. They got 2 stars because the pop up foods are great.
Sour IPAs, farmhouse ales, and a few other styles sprinkled in. And while the variety in styles can be a bit limited, they are absolute masters of their craft. World class, if you have the chance go.
Expect to have the best beer in your life! Pro tip: go to the BeaconPantry and get yourself a few meats and cheeses to bring to the brewery. You will be in heaven😇🍻🧀
Beers are amazing. Go early if your looking to get a release. They sell out fast!!!
Easily one of the best sour beer producing breweries Ive ever been to. The sour IPAs are world class and like no other. Well worth the drive from North Carolina.
Stylish packaging, a pretty good and cheap seltzer, and a really good sour IPA.
I like sours well enough, but I was pretty blown away by the beer I had here. I had a can of Amulet and liked it a lot so when I was in the area we decided to stop in. This is some top notch beer. The way they balanced sour, sweet, breadiness, I dont know if it could be done better. I only wish I got some crowlers.I live about two hours away but I would happily make a day trip here to enjoy some beer. Cant go wrong in my opinion.
Absolutely amazing and beautiful sours! They have perfected the art l. The brewery is not directly on Main Street like GPS might lead you to believe. You can sort of see brick back side from Main, but can hop down from Main Street level, or drive around.
This Brewery brews some of the most complex craft beers in Dutchess county and in my opinion one of the top breweries in NY State. There options mainly consist of citrus and sour beers. All will be different from what your used to. Who wants the same ol crazy beers anyways? Not me. This place is great! Also they have setup shop in a large open warehouse. They allow well behaved dogs and usually have pop up restaurants inside on most weekends. If there isnt a pop up restaurant then they will not have food. But have no worries. Your in Beacon NY which had plenty of options. Hudson Valley is also very casual so no need to dress to impress.Eat, drink, love, be free 😉
Amazing beers and nice atmosphere. Good location. Also a great pit stop to get some juice before a good hike in the area!
Very cool place but a random selection of 4 beers left me wondering how they make money.
Great crowd, even better beer. Hudson caters to its patrons. Highly recommend if you enjoy craft beer and a friendly atmosphere.
Amazing beer and even better staff😍🤯
The ambiance of this place is great. Such a friendly staff and the place is huge enough to sit, relax, and enjoy their amazing craft beer.
Theres nothing like what they have done with IPAs and sours. One of the kind brewery, best beer. Only wish I can find them more often in NYC. Keep it up guys!
A mecca of sour IPAs and other fruited lovelies. It is not for everyone but many non-beer drinkers approve since most options are sweet and fruity. There is a fair amount of quirkiness like no growler fills but they usually have some crowlers filled as an option. Tap room is part of their brew facility, fairly small and pretty dark since there are no windows. Beacon is a neat town on the rise so definitely worth a trip from NYC if you are onto the craft beer thing. Plenty of free parking was available and decent food truck option was onsite the day we went.
Fantastic sour beers and great staff. Blackberry peach Glycerin was delicious, and I have to give a big double thumbs up to Harry, Jamal, and Josh.
Disappointed. Went for a beer and we got cider. All 4 beers we tried tasted like vinegar. It’s not sour beer. Not what you expect when you ask for an IPA or an Ale.
Yum! Best of the best sour beer! If you dont like sour beer, you will still love it! If you are into sout beer you provably are already sold on this place and arent reading ratings. While in Beacon this is a must visit!
Awesome and unique beers. Mellow environment. Highly recommend.
Cool looking space in a great walkable area but not my kind of brews. All beers available were very unusual. One stating kix, dandelion and lemon. If you like yours and IPAs might be good for you. Place was packed.
The beers are pretty good even if hoppy sour with fruit isnt half as innovative as everyone is pretending. The parking lot is terrible, the location isnt great, the building is huge and ugly, the bathrooms are as far from the service area as possible. Employees are very nice.
Specializing in sour IPAs. Very popular with locals, and with good reason. Some of the most creative and finely made brews in the country, nevermind the Hudson Valley.
These folks are really putting together some interesting, and more importantly, well done and delicious beer. The location itself is typical brewery with tap wall and bar top. Go fo the beer then walk up the street for some eats. You will not be disappointed it you like sours, IPAs, or interesting adjuncts.
They have a unique favor. The sours are great. Prices are higher than NYC.
Plan ahead when coming here, as if theres a can release that day, it may be crazy (so check their social media). Can releases still often sell out that day, but the beers stick around on tap for a few weeks. Everything on tap can be purchased as a 4/8/12 ounce (and sometimes pint for the lagers), allowing you to try a bunch of their beers on a visit. The sour IPAs have defined their niche, but there are usually some traditional sours, a lager or two, and sometimes a standard IPA on. Generally a food truck or food vendor on the weekends as well.
