Great location, but the food and service are definitely lacking. Was a little nervous ordering the Benedict after reading other reviews, and could quickly see what others have mentioned. The hollandaise was virtually tasteless and seemed like it was mostly butter. As it sat on the table we could see the butter/sauce hardening over the Benedict. 🤢 The crab was also sparse and watery, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend paying extra to get that.
My favorite spot for brunch! Our favorite server was Steve, and so happy for his promotion - well deserved. This place has the best food. Always hot, fresh, tasty, and so darn fast. Since our brunches include two toddlers, quick service is much appreciated and Cafe Murrayhill never disappoints. In the dozens of times we’ve visited, we have never had a bad experience. Super easy to make a reservation online - we’ve never had to wait for a table. My husband swears by the breakfast burrito, my girls devour the pancakes the French toast, and I’m partial to the omelettes. Highly recommend!
I wish I could say I would continue coming to this place solely based on the food because frankly the food was delicious and I have nothing bad to say about it! I’ve been there for both breakfast and lunch and each time things were perfectly cooked time and time again to my liking. But I will not be back to this restaurant. I’ve never felt so disrespected by a server. In my whole lifetime of going to restaurants. I tried to reach out to management by calling them not once but twice to reach back out to me to see if there was something we can do about this and I never got a callback. Every time I’ve gone unfortunately my server has been Steve Martinez. The first time I went we were ordering food and as I tend to review food I ordered a vast amount of food. In the server response by telling “ I think you have enough food” where then I respond “I actually would like to order one more thing” to which then he responds “are you sure I think you have a lot of food already?”. I feel like that was awfully disrespectful as I was not asking him to give me the food for free I was obviously going to pay for it and as a new customer I was just wanting to try out multiple dishes. Now I would have understood if the restaurant was busy but it had just opened and there was only myself with one guest(and we only ordered one additional dish each making a total of four dishes) and another party of one. Well I decided to give the place another chance. I come back a second time and again I’m still new to this place so I’m not sure how things work. I wait to be seated and he comes up to me and tells me “take a seat anywhere”. As no one was sat outside I asked “am I allowed to sit outside?” Which he decides to respond to me with “did you not hear me I said you could sit anywhere”. Again I’m a new customer and even if I wasn’t it’s still not okay to talk to a customer like that. On my third experience come here it was a Friday during lunchtime. And I had walked in the front to be seated after about a little under 10 minutes someone finally asked me if someone had help me yet. Where I respond I had not been helped. Then this lady continues by telling me if I would like to sit outside or inside. Where I respond that I would like to be seated outside since I had my dog with me. He continues by telling me to sit anywhere I would like outside. So I head on outside and Steve Martinez approaches me about five minutes after being seated there. He said “hey what are you doing? Who sat you here? This table is reserved.” I responded by saying “that the lady upfront told me to sit anywhere I would like outside. And that the table I sat on didn’t have a reservation sign like others that did” where he responded with “you’re not supposed to be seated here I’m going to go find out who’s that you’re here you can’t be seated here” (mind you it was a Friday during lunchtime so he was causing a scene with the surrounding tables which was embarrassing) so he walked off and I wouldn’t have minded if you just move me to another table because there was other tables opened but he had to make a scene about. Then another young lady comes up to a table asking who said is here and again I pointed at the lady who told me I could say anywhere that was open outside. And she just walked inside after I told her. Finally Steve comes back and tells us again “I don’t know who’s sat you here and I don’t know why you’re sitting here but whatever I’ll take care of this situation. do you guys want a menu?” I responded to him again by telling him to story I had been telling him over and over. But he said he would be back with menus and some water. I want to say more than 10 minutes went by and he kept on walking past is not serving us not paying attention to us never came back with a menu or water if it wasn’t for a super sweet cleaning lady. Which I think her name was Maribel Who brought us a menu and water we probably would have still been waiting. I will most definitely not be back to this place especially since I tried to reach out to management I never got a callback.
Went here when my mom came to visit and the food was great. We sat outside and there was a cute little duck with cow patterning that was strolling around so I fed him some fries. So glad they accepted Apple Pay! I’m happy our server took the patience to figure it out and I was able to help. I’d 100% come back!
Normally I don’t bother to write a review especially a negative one. However, my recent experience changed my opinion about this place. I understand you are expanding and recently opened a Tap House and that’s a great news but you need to focus more on training your staff. As always I came in for a bowl of salad and a blackened salmon it took 20 minutes for a bowl of salad to arrive on my table. Meanwhile nobody checked on me before or after!!! I waited 1 hour for my server to show up to table. I ended up heading to the bar and pay there.I gave the feedback to the guy behind the register and told him your performance is awful when there are more than 10 people at your establishment. This wasn’t the first time that I had to go to the bar and pay, this is the case when you have a bigger party!!! Focus training your folks most of your customers are local Murray Hill residents.
Wow! Its about 110 degrees out 9 in the morning and looks like all the staff showed up! Thank you for a awesome anniversary breakfast. All team members working in sync in extreme heat in black outfits is what dedication looks like. Your awesome food and attitude shows dedication to your craft. Well Done! Stay cool! Thank you!
Leaving a 5 star review for power house, Zoe. She made simple syrup for my unsweetened tea so I could feel more at home. What a sweetie.
I have gotten to-go orders from the restaurant several times. Most items are very good especially the fried mushrooms (order without the red pepper flakes if you don’t like spicy food), fish and chips and salad. On a recent visit, however, I called in an order. I arrived curbside to pick up my order and was told it wasn’t ready. I waited for 30 minutes... assuming they were horribly busy. When I called back, they said they didn’t have my order. This would not have been a big deal if the first person I spoke with realized my order wasn’t saved in their system. But after a total of 45 minutes waiting to pick up an appetizer, I cut my losses and left.
Beautiful place to hangout was first time for me staff very polite high hospitality thank you guys
Club panini was better than the blackened chicken sandwich with no cheese. The fries were good.
The first day of oregon reopening, we found huge fans went to this nice restaurant. Although we love this place served by wonderful and hard working servers, the food was not seem right after introducing a couple more menus. The chicken steak was salty, the French toast was not soften enough and the sunnyside up fried eggs were not quit as good as Cracker Barrels. I was told the cooks have been changed.
It was alright, pretty view made up for the okay food. I got the Murray Hill Benedict, and the hollandaise sauce was obviously fake. I asked for a side of sauce that never came. My partner got a side of avocado with his meal that ended up costing $3.50 which cost more then a whole avocado at the store. Bill ended feeling really pricey for quality delivered. My empathy goes out to the servers who were doing a great job considering working brunch during a global pandemic. I will be trying this place again in the future. I hope my mind is changed.Edit - forgot to add that there were not any vegetarian meat options for breakfast which is a bummer. I dont eat beef or pork so its nice to have a chicken, turkey or veggie sausage option. No vegetarian gravy.
Even on a busy day the management here went above and beyond to make us feel important. Great service.
Our family has been dining at Murray Hill Café for several years. The service, food and lakeside ambience has always been superb and a great destination for great food and views. Today, Murray Hill Cafe notched up the quality scale even higher with Manager Martinez’s unparalleled customer service. We will continue to see Martinez and his crew at One of Beaverton’s premier scenic restaurants with superb food and service. 👍🏼
Really nice restaurant and a great location next to a lake with Spring fountains. You can also take a nice walk around the lake.
My favorite brunch spot in Beaverton. Menu isnt huge. Just big enough for everyone to find something they want, but small enough to know everything is carefully thought through. Ive never had a bad experience here.
We were skeptical. Places like this can be so hit or miss. Wednesday we started out with Bloody Marys and I had the veggie omelette and my girlfriend had the Benedict. Omelette was incredible, the benedict... the hollandaise sauce wasnt quite as good as I expected so that was a bummer and the eggs were poached hard, not runny like Im used to. The Bloody Marys were also not as good as Id hoped. A little watery, and the house Bloddy Mary was 5 dollars more for Ameretto and candied bacon. 62 dollars for two BM and breakfast. Then we came back the same night for dinner. There is one server in particular I very much like. Hes an older gentleman who really seems to know the service industry. We ordered a strawberry lemon drop, and the Moscow mule. Excellently prepared and made. Delish. I ordered the halibut special and she ordered the trio with soup and salad and grilled cheese. The dinner was perfect. The food could have been hotter, but Im not upset. The asparagus was cooked to perfection, but perhaps light in salt, which I believe is why the dish came with capers. I love capers. The potatoes were good and oh! I actually forgot the dish came with a sauce.. there wasnt much of it. But still oh so good. We wrapped up with a desert. Chocolate lava cake. It was perfect! Presentation and flavor were on point. The appetizer of truffle fries were good, not amazing, again could have been hotter. But they had that flavor you want, which was good. All in all, Ill be coming here more often. But hopefully going forward things will get hotter. I will say, there is one employee who seems really sad to be there. We notice every time. 4 out of 5 stars but open to more experiences at this classy cafe. Thanks everyone who made this establishment a success.
Very cute place i like it alot
Great cafe! Ive been here for brunch and enjoyed a meal in the sun, but recently went for dinner. I ordered a burger and it was delicious! So many good dinner meal options. I will be back. The outdoor seating area is comfortable, spacious and clean. It just got a lil loud at time from those enjoying happy hour. It was nice to be be dining oit again.
I got upset and had a poor reaction. I posted a worse review that wasn’t entirely fair. They do have wonderful food if your willing to deal with life instead of an ideal situation.
Our waiter Eli was so kind and proactive. Its hard during a pandemic to feel normal, but Cafe Murrayhill had this wonderful outdoor area overlooking the pond with heaters and we felt so invited and welcomed. Food came out fast and warm. Fried Mushrooms were delicious. A great experience all around.
Food is good, but the wait for it is pretty long. 40 min for pancakes.
Still very disappointed in the way this business is ran. My first expiernce was terrible and so I tried to give them a chance again but was disappointed once more. The food is decent the ambiance is great the execution is just poor. They hold them selves on a self proclaimed pedistal of greatness and yet its not that great. Remove the stick, you are in a pandemic serve your customers better. You are one of the lucky ones that is still open. So act like it.
Serious upgrades to the menu. I believe the best food in the SW Beaverton area.
Went for brunch, sat for 20 minutes and never got a waitress to take our order. I get its the middle of the week but thats not the best image for such a nice restaurant
Good food 7/10, great service 9/10. The view is nice in the summer and seating location outside is very nice.
Overall, a disappointing experience. First we were told the wait time for getting a table was 45 minutes. As we took off to run an errand, we got a call in 10 mins. We called back four times before someone answered the phone and said our table was ready.I am not sure if this is the regular coffee that is served at this place, but, it is watered down, and not refreshing. The only food that we could say was cooked well is the poached egg on the benedict, although the yolk was dripping before started eating. The fried potato did not seem fresh and the omlette was bland and tasteless.Perhaps they are having a heard time staffing this place as all the waiters seemed rushed up. They have a good seating arrangement on the outside with gas heaters.
This place is great! Wonderful selection of plants, and flowers. Cute cafe, and fun place to visit. Parking can be a little tricky, but well worth it. Love this place.
If 0 was an option, itd be a goose egg. 🥚Went on a Sunday morning 9:30 am, they had 1 server in the whole place, with 10 tables already sat. Coffees (2) and food took forever, came cold, and we waited another 10 minutes for silverware... that the manager (who showed up at 10) went to grab when he set the food down and then never returned with (had to walk inside and grab it off the server station ourselves).None of that mattered in the end since the food was so bad, it was inedible. Were restaurant folk, and will never go back.
This place is great. Good food, good service. Definitely recommend. I got the Club Panini and it was awesome.
Absolutely love the atmosphere here. Theyve got a beautiful spacious outdoor seating overlooking a man-made mini lake feature. Very versitile selection on their menu, fair prices, patio lights, switch-operated warming fire. When the inside isnt roped off and deserted, I would give them another star.
Had a horrible experience with my server Steve Martinez. Will not be back
Very nice outdoor seating! But seems more like an upscale Denny’s than a nice restaurant. Only two choices for beer selection. Limited wine choices. Date wanted pepper on her salad and they brought out pepper packs
Great local eatery. Nice menu, friendly service, quite location in pretty setting. Tonight we brought home fried mushrooms, a club panini, and blackened chicken Alfredo- all delicious.UPDATE: Had the parmesian crusted halibut - awesome. Your food continues to impress!
The food is always amazing, great service!!
Great food and fast service. Recommended!
Love sitting on the patio and enjoying the food with the fountains in the background.
FOOD WAS GREAT! THE WAITRESS WAS ONE OF THE BEST IVE HAD IN A LONG TIME!
Very nice place and nice to see them open again and be part of the community
Food was good, a little pricey. Service was horrid. The waiter to my order, wasn’t friendly. When he brought my food he just plopped it on the table and I never saw him again. Had to go to the défier and asked for my bill. When I expressed my disappointment to the person at the counter, I never got a “ sorry” or any response of regret. Won’t eat there again
Absolutely fantastic. With our original Anniversary plans derailed due to COVID, we ventured out for dinner at Cafe Murrayhill on their patio. I appreciate their online reservation system having specific choices for inside and patio. Service was good and food was excellent. Also all safety protocols seemed in place and we were definitely comfortable dining here.
Lovely outdoor setting. Great breakfast, good service and safe seating space. This was my first time out, socially in nearly 6 months. It made me feel a little bit more normal.
Im a simple man a 12 oz darkroom double cream and honey and thank you.
One of my favorite places. Great food, lovely location and good drinks. The beautiful patio is open! All the servers are wearing masks... Thank you for protecting your patrons during Covid @Murrayhill!
The food (we ordered brunch items) was so good! Portion sizes are not small, so come hungry! Our spiked latte beverages were delicious and creative. All ingredients seemed very fresh. Atmosphere is contemporary casual. We had to wait 35 minutes, but it was worth it. Our server was the BEST - so friendly and attentive.
My husband and I came in today for a late breakfast and were blown away by the awesome service and the delicious food. Savanna was our server and she was clearly busy, but very patient with us. She was very attentive and genuinely cared that we have a wonderful dining experience. The kitchen staff nailed the breakfast, as always. We just had a baby and haven’t been out much, this is just what we needed we will definitely be back again. :)
Hubby and I had breakfast and it was our first time here. The staff was friendly and gave great service.I had the Belgium waffle with bananas and whip cream. It was one big waffle! Delicious and yummy!!My husband had the French toast. They gave a minimal amount of syrup but I didnt use most of mine and gave him the rest of it.The menu had delicious food to choose from, to satisfy the appetite.
Love this place but 9am is too late to open for breakfast
Every time you order and DO NOT want condiments on your food, you need to say it 10 times or they will do it anyway. I would think that this would be important to the Restaurant to keep germs 🦠 from spreading . Here’s an idea ...... put the extras in a separate bag not on the food .
Beautiful atmosphere. Friendly staff. Loved the food. Made some great memories here.
Murray Hill Cafe is the absolute best community based restaurant in Beaverton. If you want a date night dinner without going out, this is the place to order curbside and take home. We highly recommend the Chicken Marcella dinner for two, it pairs nicely with a bold red! Murray Hill Cafe is our go-to dining experience for our date nights.
First time getting food from here. Everything was great, our order was ready in very little time, and the staff was kind and friendly. Highly recommended.
We absolutely love coming on Sunday mornings. Manual is an excellent server. He makes us feel welcome, he remembers our food sensitivity and always plays with our daughter. His service is beyond and above what we have received other places.
The food is very good. Prices are not unreasonable. Excellent cheesecake. Just two small things. One, bread should be provided before the meal. Two, they need to expand their selection of vegetables. They only offer asparagus and Brussels sprouts, both of which I hate.
Holy Ravioli, Cafe MH, your food is amazing! Wish we had discovered you sooner. Will need to try everything on the menu!
Great location overlooking the water. Recently renovated with beautiful interior. Food is consistently great and wait staff is always friendly and engaging. Happy hour menu is awesome with a great hh price point. Prices for the regular menu are a bit expensive given the suburban location. Price of tea is specifically over priced as it is considered “designer” tea - nearly the same cost as a glass of wine.
Good food, competently done. Ive enjoyed everything Ive had here. Its not gourmet, but there are some good solid dishes that are always tasty and well presented. They do salmon, chicken and pasta dishes quite well. Wine list is solid. Staff is friendly. Great for a low key neighborhood restaurant.
Good food. Nice ambience. Outdoor seating overlooking the Murrayhill duck pond. My favorite breakfast meal is the Chicken Fried Steak medium. They have nice lunch and dinner selections as well.
Cafe Murrayhill is one of my favorite local spots. Food is always great and service is outstanding. In the past I had a couple not too good experiences, but after management changed everything improved right away. I love going there in the summer when you can sit outdoors.
It was the first time eating there. Food and service exclent. As I am in the food service business, I only had one question. Why did the servers not wear gloves when serving my food. I was a little uneasy about that.
Cafe Mirryhill was good. I had the club sandwich fries, ice tea and strawberry lemon aid. The french fries were way too salty but they did make me a new batch and no salt added that was nice that was good. The other part is I would not give this place at 4 except the waitress was outstanding the food was fresh and the iced tea and strawberry lemonade was really good. But I am sorry I dont think Ill be back but I will go back from time to time for their strawberry lemonade their iced tea and the fine waitresses and Waiters outstanding bye for now.
Yum! The portions are perfect and the food is tasty. Very interesting music with comfy seating and friendly staff. I cant wait to go again!
Cafe Murrayhill rocks during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing an outstanding menu of healthy and scrumptious meals for easy curbside pickup! Glad to see their outstanding transformation in this new world.
This place has gone so downhill they should change the name. In 2015 they had incredible food and impeccable service. When I visited in 2016 the service was so terrible we did not stay for the food. Recently gave them one last chance, the service was amazing, but no one at my table particularly liked the food. It wasnt bad, it was just bland. We wont be back.
Good standby. Decent food. Good service, nice outdoor seating.
I loved the prices and the service! My Belgian waffles were delicious and the strawberries taste fresh. I absolutely would recommend this cafe
Nice place....way over priced
A consistently good meal with friendly staff and a Pleasant View is always worth a longer wait.
Great service, food, and atmosphere. Loved the fish tacos, beef tips, and molten chocolate cake.
Friendly staff. you can seat yourself with. no.hassle. menu selection is adequate. not too. complicated choices. had. crab melt sandwich with fries and enjoyed it very much with brewed coffee. the ambience is just right for a. casual meeting. 👍😊
Have eaten here several times: breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. I have never been disappointed with the food or service. Great location. Good parking. Lovely view of pond. Highly recommend a dining experience here.
We sat outside enjoying the view of the lake. The food was excellent and the service very good.
What a great little place. Just had an amazing breakfast burrito! Get the pork sausage instead of the pulled pork.
New manager under training and new hostess. No clue about customer service. The manager took care of us and tried his best. Wait staff, location and food is great. Great neighborhood spot. I hope they take the time to train the hostesses, it makes a huge difference to the overall experience.
This place blew our minds! We had a party of four, and the took a little longer then we thought, however when we took our first bite wow it was so worth the wait! The veggies tasted like they picked them straight from our garden! I have never had such tasty spaghetti in all my life:) we will definitely be back soon! Awesome restaurant, great service and definitely worth the money. A good place to eat and unwind:)
Itd been years since I went to this cafe but they must have changed ownership. It was so so before, but is now my new favorite local breakfast stop! The biscuits are delicious! For dinner, I love their butternut squash ravioli. Skip the wedge salad, too much dressing. Staff here are really nice and this place is still very much a comfortable neighborhood gathering place. Highly recommend!
Excellent food wonderful service. Definitely will go back again.
Great food and service but prices are far too high. I gather with friends for special times. Staff is nice.
We used to be regular diners but had drifted away for several reasons so were pleasantly surprised by how improved the service was in particular. Our waiter/bartender Steve was nothing short of superb, and our drinks and shared entree were delicious. It’s like visiting an old friend! Well done. We’ll now be back!
Service was slow (understaffed - our waitress was excellent but had too many tables). Husband and I ordered lattes - recd cold. Asked waitress to replace. Replacement was hot, but hardly scalding. Food was lackluster - my husband, who is pretty accepting, commented that the Hollandaise sauce was better at Dennys: where at least it tastes of chicken broth - this Hollandaise tasted of nothing at all. So thin and blah! Which was a pity because the eggs were perfectly poached, which points to a good kitchen staff. Menu cites Canadian bacon, yet Eggs Benedict was served with sliced ham that was overheated, parts were crunchy and tough. We will not be going here again.
We went for brunch with 2 adults and an infant. We had the avocado toast and the veggie omelette with potatoes and fruit. The food was very good and the service was great, they were so kind to our kiddo too, even when she made a mess. They cleaned it up before we could do it. Thank you for that. They had plenty to choose from and healthy choices! They also had delicious looking drinks on their menu to spice up your brunch. We had a long day ahead of us so we chose tea over mimosas but next time we’ll be sure to indulge.
This is a little gem. The menus are delicious and fresh. Breakfast is excellent as are lunch and dinner.
