If I could give negative stars I would.Have had several bad experiences with this company. Had a trailer of limbs from a tree we cut down. A landscaper told us it would be about a yard before we cut it down so we knew what to expect…went to woodco to get rid of it and he tried to charge us for over 2 yards ($45) and was extremely rude when we questioned the amount. So…we drove the extra distance to go to Grimms and was charged $20 and they were super nice! We were even going to buy bark after dumping the debris so not only did woodco lose out on the business from the debris but also for the bark. We ended up paying half the price for dumping and bark all in one stop at Grimms!The first experience with Woodco was earlier this year with them charging me not once but THREE times for 2 units of bark (over $650 each!). At first I gave them the benefit to make it right and credit me since both charges processed after the guy assured me the first one didn’t go through. Office manager said she would refund when what she actually did was charge me a third time. Imagine my surprise on Sunday when I checked my bank account and I had that third charge. For some people being out over $1800 would cause a huge problem! When I had to wait until Monday to talk to someone to get it fixed she never apologized, actually argued and said she refunded it and then it took A LOT of explaining to get her to realize that she STILL owed me the refund (and now 2) from the first over charge. She claimed she was in a hurry to get out of the office on Friday and made the mistake and ran a charge instead of refund but she never thought to call me and explain. She just let the charge go through.When reading through the reviews now, I see I’m not the only one this has happened to.Convenience does not excuse being rude, overcharging, and incompetence.Will never go back again. I guess shame on me for trying to give them a second chance today with a simple load of yard debris.

Have used Woodco for bark dust & compost for over 20 years. They are rude but I tolerated them because their location is convenient to me. However; last year I rototilled & replanted the backyard grass. I used their compost and ended with nothing but weeds in the grass & flower beds. I used their bark dust in large front garden and ended up with grass growing in it. Still cleaning the weeds & grass! Am going to go somewhere else this year.

If I could give zero stars I would, owners are so disrespectful and arrogant. Don’t know how they are open, but trust me I will be making a lot of calls. ALSO make sure what you are being charged! I was charged twice and they simply told me they were NOT going to give me that back.

I’ve been coming here for years, dumping the same amount of yard debris in the same trailer for the same price, never been charged more than a yard. Today, for some reason and without saying anything until I saw the receipt, I saw I was charged for two. More than anything I’m frustrated in that the owner took one look at the trailer, not it’s contents/where it was filled, and went back inside. Maybe the single dried out Christmas tree is what did it but I’d recommend going somewhere else for yard debris disposal.

Ordered bark dust on Saturday and it was delivered on Monday, just as I requested and right on time. The person taking my order on the phone was thorough and efficient. The delivery person was very careful and considerate regarding where I wanted the product placed and had it unloaded in record time. We are very pleased with the product and the service.

Very rude front desk AND disrespectful driver. Driver couldnt back up his truck properly, and started yelling at Me!I wont EVER use them again.Gravel was Poor quality also. Mostly dirt.FYI !!!

I’m a benefit of the doubt person and have gone here for years hoping it would get better given they are just around the corner. But the rudeness is silly with these folks. They gave me a politically charged lecture about Covid and were not keeping good covid code. Go to BestBuy. Excellent customer service. Very kind. That. Matters.

Went to dump branches from Apple tree and pear tree my mistake was that I left them intact for easy unloading it was clearly 3/4 of a yard. Minimum is 1 yard but I was charged 1.5 yards because it made my pick up look full. Paid 30 dollars when best buy landscape in Cornelius pass normally charges 11 dollars.Wait till the heat comes he gets better at raising prices.

Fair prices for yard debris disposal and purchase of bark dust and soil. Family staff are not too motivated to move beyond their view from the front desk. Limited selection, but uncrowded and easy access in and out.

These guys have the worst customer service Ive ever experienced in this industry and I used to work in it. They have been consistently rude and act like you are a complete inconvenience whether youre picking stuff up or unloading. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for a long time. Its unfortunate because their prices are competitive. I now drive an additional 30 minutes round trip and pay a little more just because I dont think they deserve my business.

I would give less than 1 star if I could. The older guy who works there who I assume is the owner is the rudest man on the plant and acts as if you are an inconvenience to him. I have been twice thinking the first time was a fluke. I went to best buy in town landscape and it was a night and day difference.Cheaper too!

I was treated very rudely when I simply walked up and asked if I could buy a couple yards of bark chips. As others have put it, it was as if I was an extreme inconvenience. Mind you, I did not try to haggle with them; I did not ask 100 questions; I did not make unusual requests or demands. I simply held up my credit card and said Id like to buy 3 yards of cedar chips please. It blows my mind.Out of principle, I drive a bit further and pay a little bit more to get bark elsewhere.

Tried to call 3 times at different times throughout the day, and never got through to anybody to confirm they would be open. Their website says to call to confirm their hours and when theyll be open, so I tried my best to do so. I went to drop a load off and got their at 4:45 on a Tuesday, but the gate was closed and nobody home. Their hours show that they are open till 5 on weekdays on their website, and on Google. Turns out they have special winter hours and close early. It would be nice, if that was posted somewhere. When I finally got through to somebody the next day, they were rude and short with me. Terrible customer service.

Brought a half ton pickup of yard debris for disposal. Owner was very arrogant and RUDE. Acted like it was an imposition for me to give them business. While I would much rather support a family locally owned business, NOT THIS ONE. HIGH prices! 1 truck load just to top of bed was $30. Next load went to Grimms off 99 where I was charged $12 for the same amount. Worth the extra 20 minute drive. Ill NEVER go back to Woodco .

I dropped off aload of yard debris and the person I dealt with was very rude and acted like my business was an imposition on him. The next load I had, I drove an extra 15 min to Best Buy, where they have better hours, charge 5 dollars less a yard, and treat poeple with respect. I will be going there from now on.

I there was a poop emoji instead of a star here, this place is horrible. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for a while as far as their customer service goes. After visually observed the way they treat customers and experienced it myself. I’m taking my business else where, I agree with everyone in the part of the old man being to arrogant and rude. Great products, prices, and service -- helpful and flexible people have worked with me on the phone to figure out what exactlly I needed for various locations and purposes. I disagree completely with the older reviews as Ive had nothing but great interactions with Woodco.

The most disgusting customer service ever!!! I sent my worker to purchase gravel and specifically told my worker 1.5 yards. When he returned from picking up the load it was clearly 1 yard at most. My worker and I could both agree on this. My worker said he asked why he was missing .5 yards and got a response from the old man, “that’s how we work here if you don’t like it go elsewhere and get your other .5 yard” so a bit uncertain about that customer service, I went down there myself and requested 1.5 yards. Sure thing I get a little over .5 yard and kindly requested my full load that I had paid for. I was given a similar response “looks like 1.5 yards to me if you don’t like how we work here go somewhere else” THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS! I Can not stress this enough!

Prices are decent. Customer service is extremely lacking. If you get Dave...very short tempered...inpatient on the phone...extremely direct to the point where he is rude. Seems to be stressed out all the time. Have called few times to call on prices and get estimate of required amount of materials needed for job and he is never nice or just never ever pleasant on the phone.Not too sure if he is owner or not. If he is owner, I am sure his attitude is one of I can get away with it because I am the owner. If that is the case, I am sure he has lost quite a bit of business from potential customers that call in to get quotes and they don t end up calling back due to his impatience and rude manner. If Dave is not the owner...well I hope the owner does read this and has a one one one talk with him regarding his phone etiquette and professionalism. Because, I am sure it can hurt the business and potential money. It will eventually catch up, if it hasn t yet.Jimmy is actually very nice and I have spoke with him a couple of times. I would suggest talking to Jimmy if you can or otherwise, I would spend the extra $20 or more at another place and find someone that is pleasant to deal with and you don t mind giving your hard earned money to instead of to some unprofessional and arrogant person on the phone.Not many people leave reviews for this type of company and service but I wanted to make others aware of this company and that there are other companies and just because one company is cheaper, there is usually a reason why???It s a family owned company. I suggest they get with the times and realize the impact negative reviews posted online can eventually have on a business. Or, the family owned business will decline or be no longer, if the phones are answered in the manner Dave does.These days...business can be tough. Showed up with a trailer of yard debris to dump and was charged for 3.7 yards according to their calculations. Also purchased 2 yards of garden mulch. For some reason the 3.7 they said I brought and the 2 they gave me came out to be the same amount…either they over charged on one, shorted on the other, or both. Wont be back here again.

Whoever answers their phone needs to have a lesson or 2 about courtesy and how to deal with customers. Very BAD
