Id give 5 stars if they had sniff jars of the spices. I understand that its because of COVID-19, but its getting a little tiresome. Aside from that, this is a great shop with good prices for spices. I bought some peppercorns for my new mill, and am sure Ill be back.

Store staff is truly doing the best job they can under local requirements & their own corporate rules that no customers can come inside the store.Phones are not working reliably so theyre dealing with dropped calls and constant busy signals.Online orders for curbside pick up only seemed to require 24 hours to get ready and call us to schedule a pick up time.So grateful the staff did what they could to help me get part of my wifes birthday present!

My wife loves their spices. They always give you more than ask for. They are practicing social distancing by having you calling ahead, then they bring the order to the door.

Ordered online for curbside pickup. The whole thing was really easy. They called me same day to schedule a pickup time and picked up next day. They are very prompt and were friendly and helpful, over the phone and through the window. Thanks!

It’s Ridiculous that customers cannot come into the store. The Salesgirl would only open the door an inch so I could ask questions. I will take my business to Savory Spice in Sellwood where they have always given excellent customer service and take Covid seriously while serving the needs of customers

Great staff. Nice samples to smell. Good place to go to learn about spices for the novice. But way, way to expensive. 2.6 oz of cinnamon was 9 dollars, bought the same quality of Vietnamese 10 oz for 9 dollars on line. They seem to do a great business.

Ive been ordering from Penzeys for at least 20 years. The beauty of this company is the freshness of the spices and that everything comes in a variety of sizes, perfect for your needs. I was so happy to see Penzeys open a store in Beaverton....the problem is, you always end up buying extra.

We love coming here as a family. They have a great little coloring corner for kids so they stay occupied while we have our noses in jars. We love being able to smell and see all the spices set out, especially when youre smelling two black peppers or two sages, for instance. Sales reps have mostly been there for a long time and are knowledgeable about the products and can readily offer suggestions. Packaging is clearly labeled on all the spices and blends, there are also empty jars and blank labels available for purchase.

Penzeys has the best spices and they’re a great value. I appreciate the choice of sizes on offer, it’s nice to be able to buy a small jar (encourages me to try something new). They also have fun sales and promotions, plus the employees are always so kind and helpful. Favorites include Southwest and Sunny Paris...the blends are creative and can be used so many ways.

Only four starts because it is really weird to me that they are so political when this is a spice company and I’m looking to buy spices... So they are lucky that their spices are so freakin good! These spices take every dish to the next level. Their vanilla extract is fantastic as well. The smells are free if you want to go in there and huff some tasty smells.

The store is big for what I was expecting. It has smell samples of pretty much everything! The employees are super friendly and helpful. If you’re tired of bland stuff from the Safeway bargain shelves, this is the upgrade you want. Stuff that...actually tastes like it’s supposed to. Everyone here is pleasant to boot. And if you huff too much paprika and sneeze they have emergency (courtesy?) tissues.

Its so easy to overspend there... But if you want it, they probably have it, including the more hard to find spices (black cardamom, etc). Most people have only heard of this place because of their catalog... The physical store is so much better.

I LOVE Penzys not only do they stand for what I believe in for American values, but they have great values for their customers. So often you get a free bottle of a spice just for picking up what you planned on getting anyway. Spices are always fresh and prices are about the same when you compare to most grocery store prices these days.

Penzeys is pretty much theonly place I buy spices now. The quality is excellent and their spice blends make food absolutely delicious. The Fox Point and 4 S seasoning salt are staples for me. As a bonus, subscribing to the email newsletter means I often get free or very discounted spices!

So discovering a spice shop is an unexpected delight.Penzeys Spices has a large footprint, almost completely covered in individual spices, with some curated collections scattered about. Spices are sold in three sizes: small glass jar, medium glass jar, and large baggie (to refill the glass jars).My go-to test for spice-sellers is bebere, a staple of Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine, made from a mix of chili peppers, garlic, ginger, basil, fenugreek, and korarima, rue, nigella, and ajwain or radhuni. Some bebere are primarily spicy, others convey a more subtle bouquet. Penzeys offering is right in the middle of that range, which I like.Test passed, I put Penzeys on my list for a return when its time to refill my kitchen supplies. BAM!

I love the Southwest seasoning, the chili 3000 and 9000. They have tons of options, and you can smell all of the seasoning before you buy it.
