Because of a bad experience I had the first time I tried getting hearing aids I went years and years without them. Six months ago I was fortunate enough to meet Jim Navarra and Angelica Hill and what a life changing experience that turned out to be. I now have an excellent pair of hearing aids and I’m able to enjoy sounds I hadn’t heard in years. Jim Navarra is an exceptional human being that is kind, compassionate, understanding and truly cares about his patients. Because of him my life has changed for the better and I am profoundly grateful to him. Miss Angelica Hill at the front desk is also a true joy to speak with over the phone and talk with when I have office visits. She shares Jim’s kindness and compassion and has a wonderful way of treating anyone who steps through their doors. I want to thank Jim with all my heart for being the kind of person he is. My mother has had two different hearing aids over the last several years and neither of them worked enough for her to hear very well. Which was not only frustrating for her but for her loved ones, as she either missed the conversation completely or totally misunderstood what was being said. We made an appointment with Jim at Miracle Ear and so happy we did.She had a very thorough exam and left with her hearing aids in tow. When we got home (she lives with me) she did not even need the closed captioning on her television set anymore! She is SO happy. We all are.We have our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother back. I had such a surprisingly great experience with Miracle Ear...I would not go anywhere else!It became increasingly more apparent that my mother-in-law was losing her hearing. In certain situations it was clear and obvious she could not hear what was being said to her. Since my mother-in-law is a very private and prideful person (dare I say stubborn) she would almost never let us know she could not near what was being said. I took my almost 90 year old mom to see Jim for hearing aids after her 2 previous attempts at other places failed. She has arthritis and had a hard time putting them in. We even had molds made to make it easier but it still didnt work. She complained her other aids sounded like soldiers marching in her head, but the other places couldnt explain why. To her, it was like being in a horror movie. Jim did extensive testing on her and realized very quickly that it was because the previous aids she was given were the wrong size, so every time she moved her mouth, the aids hit inside her ear. He took the time to talk with her and figure out what she needed. He got her the right aids and she has no problem putting them in, and theyre so comfortable she sometimes forgets she has them in. Were all so happy that she can hear now! I would recommend Jim and Miracle Ear to anyone.

Jim was so helpful in getting the right hearing aid for me. The hearing test was extensive and took a while. I had no idea of the amount of hearing loss I had. I had worn a hearing aid purchased elsewhere and still wondered why people were whispering. Jim showed me what my options were, but didnt pressure me to buy the most expensive one. I chose one where I could select options in a noisy place like a restaurant and could hear my phone through my hearing aids. I have had my Miracle Ear hearing aids for two years and continue to go in regularly for checkups at no cost. Im very happy with my association with Jim at Miracle Ear. While you are waiting in the waiting room, Abby, a lovely big brown dog, will greet you and give you all the attention you want.
Jim went out of his way to give me an excellent hearing adjustment. He stayed past closing to work with my schedule. He was very meticulous and cares about giving me the best hearing experience he can. He spent a significant amount of time making sure that my settings were correct for my hearing situation. Ive had hearing aides my entire life and have seen my share of audiologists. Jim cares about his patients, and it shows. Great experience!I’m updating this review after a few months using my new hearing aides. This is the best I’ve heard in my entire life. I’m in awe. I can have sound transmitted from most devices directly to my ears at a volume I choose while also choosing how much sound I hear from the environment. I can hear better in noisy environments than the people I’m with! I’m very happy that Jim spent the time to get my hearing solution correct!
My mom (Kathryn Herb) has had her hearing aids through here since 2016, as well as my father (Robert) who has now passed away. We are more than satisfied with the service that Jim has given us. He cleans their ears and hearing aids each visit. He goes above and beyond to help them hear better. He is a very personable man and he has made their experience enjoyable.
I took my 98 year old dad in to be tested and to get new hearing aids for him. Jim did a thorough job and was very kind. I must say though that the 2 furry members of the office added to my idea of a good visit. Having my dad hear again has been fantastic for him and those around him. Thank you. 🐕
The hearing aid does not work for me. Always has been tiny sounding. I have been to see Jim several times but always same results. He tested for hearing loss, found considerable loss. I paid $8,000 for these aids. I have even contacted the company, never received return message or anything. I personally in my opinion would ever recommend Miracle-Ear Hearing Aid to anyone. Very dissatisfied with $8,000 purchase made 3 or so years ago. Still the same dissatisfaction throughout the years of paying for them

Being a physician myself, I especially appreciate the mixture of Jims professionalism and basic human warmth. Jim is absolutely the best. I live in Nampa Idaho, but am previously from Beaverton. I was spoiled by Jim before I moved and since living in Idaho I have not been able to find a satisfactory hearing specialist. After the last one I went to, who was awful, my husband and I decided to drive the six hours to see Jim and I haven’t been sorry. He allotted an hour and a half for my appointment, but he actually took an extra hour to make sure he got all the testing done and fine tuned my new aids. A big thanks goes out to Jim.

I am a retired physician with a life long career in Academia. I have worn high quality aids for over 20 years. Over time these all became less and less helpful. I turned to Miracle Ear in the person of Jim Navarra in Beaverton OR but with the misguided fear that any wildly commercial aids from such a place would never be as good as those I had had.Jim was exceptionally professional and courteous, delivering very high quality aids that do far more than my old high end ones ever did. He has repeatedly responded within a day to my pleas for help as my needs have changed. I am now a firm believer in Miracle Ear products and have already referred several people to them for help.
Moved here from Illinois a year ago and was having trouble finding a hearing aid specialist that would help me.. went to another place and they gave me the run around... fast forward 10 months later and I found miracle ear and Jim Navarra and bought 2 hearing aids. No pressure in buying and will answer any questions you have before buying... very pleased with the hearing aids after a month and a half with them. What an experience!! My hearing had been declining for years. I was an extrovert that loved people and loved to talk to them. Soon I started staying home more and avoiding people. I would go to my fellowship meetings. On the way home I would be depressed, crying and feel like no one understood, no one cared that I couldn’t participate.The day I wheeled into Miracle Ear I knew I was in the right place. I have genetic hearing loss in both ears and it has been a challenge for me since my 30s. Ive been to a lot of different hearing aid providers and technicians who assess for hearing loss and had very mixed results.It wasnt until I met Jim Navarra at Miracle Ear that I felt that my hearing loss had been really properly assessed, and corrected by his hearing aid suggestions. I recently brought my father in to this location. The staff was amazing. They were so friendly and patient. It was important that he felt like he was a part of the process and they did an excellent job of explaining everything in a way that he could understand. We would recommend Beaverton Miracle-Ear to any one who struggles with hearing issues.
This is hard to explain in short but my mom is a VERY difficult woman. I warned Jim and Michelle of this as I do all Dr.s! The free test by Jim was very meticulous and professional. I went home telling my boyfriend how impressed I was. He spent 3 hours fine tuning and testing. My mom on the other hand did her best to create a scenario where Jim was not trying to help her and in some way scamming her. Which couldnt be further from reality or the truth from what I witnessed. I felt very bad for him, as she returned the hearing aids she gave 1 whole day trying before deciding she didnt need them. Well it was nice not having to repeat myself for that one day! Ha! She wrote a bad review that was not fair to Jim. I just want the company and others to know he is EXCELLENT at what he does and truly cares that the client goes home happy and hearing no matter what my mom says!. Thanks Jim and Michelle. Mr. Navarra is experienced, knowledgeable, thorough and engaging. He seems to truly want to improve ones hearing capacity and the product he uses works wonderfully. Being able to again hear all the soft sounds that fill ones day is a real step up from the limited hearing experienced prior to receiving his assistance.
Jim was great - He was able to determine right away that I had a problem in my right ear and the previous people did not correct that so it aggravated my hearing disorder. Jim was able to correct that so I could hear everything in my left hear even a whisper. Jim is great he will see you for follow ups and cleanings - Glad I saw him

I had very horrible experience with them . Jim Navarra, person at Beaverton center was very unprofessional and showed racism behavior . I dont know how they get such a good reviews. Jim, disrespect me and waste my time . He used very harsh word to me because I was not giving my words to buy device before having exam . Then why they called it Free hearing exam . At last he said he did not have time for that day to have hearing exam . I was really willing to pay for coslty device, but now I will not buy anything from them only for Jims behavior.
Jim runs this shop and he is amazing! I got my wonderful Miracle-Ear hearing aides in California and found this Miracle-Ear store while in Oregon visiting (before I moved up here) and Ive gone nowhere else ever since! Jim and his staff are professional (diligent in scheduling and reminding me about my free follow up checks), professional (Jim knows the product and explains how to use the equipment in ways that I easily understand), and friendly (knows my name, remembers things weve talk about during previous appointments and welcoming). Friends have occasionally mentioned problems with their local Miracle-Ear stores near them in California (while loving the product) and I strongly encourage them to vacation in beautiful Portland/Beaverton and SEE JIM!
I received a letter in the mail from Miracle-Ear and called to see if my husband could come instead of me. After an extensive test my husband was in serious need of hearing aids. Jim worked well with us and even though its only been a day my husband loves them already and can hear things he couldnt before. We went to dinner afterwards and that was an area he had a problem before the hearing aids I asked him how it was and he said I can even hear the dishes in the kitchen. This was a horrible experience. I went in with my 93 year old father who was treated with horrible disrespect or understanding. The specialist was sarcastic and condescending to me in our attempts to clarify his previous hearing aids and what he might need for the future. I felt his job was to sell me his product.

I had a hearing test a year ago and was told I didnt need hearing aids, that my hearing was fine, and that I would have to wait a year to have another test. Fast-forward a year--we moved to Oregon and I noticed that my hearing was horrible when I was in large or small groups and that I had to turn the TV up so loud to hear it. I knew there was something wrong. I got a letter in the mail from Miracle-Ear and for a complimentary hearing test and decided to try it out.I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH A THOROUGH HEARING TEST IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! I found out that I had a 30% hearing loss and was told by Jim that with this result, he couldnt believe that my hearing could change that much in a year. It didnt. The same problems I had a year ago were the same problems I was currently experiencing.My husband and I both were so impressed with the knowledge that Jim had and what he shared with us about hearing loss. He walked me through everything and the process was actually fun and intersting. I walked out of Miracle-Ear being able to hear. I have noticed a big difference when I am in noisy places, at my nephews soccer games, and in quiet spaces--it dosnt matter--I can hear.That evening, I turned the TV up to the marker that I usually have to listen with and was shocked at how loud it must have been for everyone else. I am so glad I made the decision to go to Miracle-Ear. Jim was easy to talk to; he answered all of our questions and his office assistant was also helpful.The followup has been wonderful. Ive visited the Beaverton Miracle-Ear clinic for several years. Jim Navarra is the hearing specialist there and he helped me select the right hearing aid to fit my needs, cleaning and programming the hearing aid. I like going to the clinic because hes knowledgeable and caring not only in what he does but nutrition and other general areas.

Im very happy with my Miracle-Ear aids. The store is conveniently located directly across Hwy 217 from Washington Square shopping center in Beaverton/Tigard, with plenty of easy parking. Jim Navarra is the specialist for this store, and he really knows his stuff. He took lots of time to listen to my hearing needs and difficulties with hearing at my job sites. Then he applied his skills in tuning my aids. He was selected by the Miracle-Ear company as the best Hearing Instrument Scientist for 2016. Quite an honor, and justly earned. I highly recommend Jim and Miracle-Ear aids.

Always clean my hearing aids and ears
Jim; i have been struggling for years with getting hearing aids that felt right and did not put pressure in my ears . Youve achieved what I thought was impossible and love my hearing aids and wear them every day now.
When I first came to Jim Navarra at the Miracle Ear Tirgard office, he was very accommodating (actually to the point of patronizing) but I was impressed by it. Hes a charming person, no doubt and has qualified and practiced skills as an audiologist as well.I told Jim the story about a previous painful experience with Pacific Audiology where the Dr. gouged and cut the inside of my outer ear canal scraping the wax from my ear. Jim encouraged me that my experience with him would not be like that. Keep this in mind as you read all my story.On that first visit, he thoroughly tested my ears and fitted me with a fairly expensive ME hearing aid which proved to work well for my situation but less than a half a year later for a followup adjustment session, he tested me again to recommended an even more expensive hearing aid, a couple thousand more after spending over $5000 for the current one. The one I had been fitted with worked well enough and it puzzled me to be pressured to buy a better one. I still trusted him up to that time. Now I had doubts.I did try the supposedly better aids out for a week and decided not to upgrade. He was definitely not happy about that turn down after offering discounts and insurance fudges to close the deal. His accommodating manner from that time changed to a more curt one. My loyalty was now waning but not DOA just yet.A year and a half later I begrudgingly went back to have my ears tested again and surprisingly experienced the same gouging and cutting of the inside of my outside ear canal to remove wax that had brought me to him in the first place to avoid. It also was done without apology or concern for the pain it was causing, almost seemed intentional.His manner after that accidental abuse was even more insensitive to my needs to consult about my ear issues. I was finally told that I had to pay more attention to what others said rather than suspect more complex hearing issues. The only thing i didnt get was a slap of the face to wake me up to pay attention and listen better. I would say that was insult to injury at that point.As I drove home, I begin to fully realize that I had been abused and mocked maybe for refusing to upgrade to his previous good deal (and a lot more expensive) upgrade from the year before. I was now seemingly not his favorite patient anymore but experiencing a form of professional chastising. I was now alarmed about having a future with this ear doctor.Like the previous audiologist experience that brought me to Jim Navarra, anyone who cuts my ear and creates a lot of pain unnecessarily, is not someone I want to be a patient with. A man with his advanced skill should know not to be that careless cleaning wax out of patients ears. Removing wax is not a one time life saving event but a casual regular maintenance procedure with these ear doctors. They are the ones with access to your soft skin tissues with sharp instruments. Would you go back to someone that seems to have it in for you or is just not conscientious enough to be careful with such tools? I think I hear a distant unison of Nos.i did make an attempt to try out another ME doctor in the Portland area and found the same aggressive eagerness to enroll me as a patient even to the point of somehow obtaining my patient hard copy file from the Tigard office. I got the sense of that of different car dealer salesmen competing for clients.My sense of Miracle Ear in general is that their Siemens products are very good quality and work well but their hard sell competitive tactics and focus upon selling you the most expensive hearing aid they have, makes them seem to me to be more interested in opportunity to fleece the aging flock than provide affordable ear care.I cannot confirm that there is truth to my suspicion about the possible vindictive motives of this ear doctor but to avoid having to prove myself right, I prefer to move on to one who doesnt make me bleed for whatever reason.
