We purchased this home two years ago and have had nothing but trouble. We had water coming down through our smoke detectors one time due to a roof leak. We have been complaining about the mildew smell for a long time and this is what under the house looks like. My family is starting to have health issues now . I major company like this should be ashamed of how you treat your customers. We thought we were purchasing our dream home and it’s been nothing but a nightmare!

My husband & self is having a great experience with Clayton home! Doug is amazing! We called Him & told him we had to be out our current space soon & he started working immediately! (He never gave up on us) I would/have recommended people to come see him! We worry Doug all time & he listens to any problem we may have ! We are thankful for him!

This review is posted under my former last name. My current last name is Gilmer. Buyer beware! If you enjoy the game show the price is right this is the place to buy. The price will change quickly. We visited recently and took a picture of a price posted in a home. However when they sent in our loan application about two days later the BASE price went up by approximately 20 thousand dollars. Now the price posted was a sale price and when I questioned them about it of course they responded by saying a deposit has to be put down to get that price which should have been explained to us and never was. I still find it questionable that it suddenly went off sale two days later so even if we had put a deposit down we still couldnt get it for the posted price because suddenly someone else put down a deposit and it was no longer available at the posted price. The posted price should have been honored since we were not aware of the requirement to put down a deposit. We were also told more than once that the required deposit is 1,000 and the remainder is all rolled into the loan. That was not the truth as the lenders they sent the application to also asked for additional money down. They also wanted ridiculous payments and finance charges for buyers like us with good credit score over 700. They are predatory and will take advantage of buyers. Please look into buying a stick built home before dealing with them. Thats what we will do since the rates and other terms are much better and the price doesnt change unless a buyer is willing to offer more in the case of multiple offers on a home. According to some online sources Clayton Homes has been sued for sketchy practices like these before such as lying to buyers about the ability to refinance and changing the sale terms at closing, etc.. Please research them online before you decide to buy. When I sent them an email questioning the math that didnt add up the ridiculous payments and terms for a good credit score etc. I never heard back from them. They also have prices posted on their website that they said had increased as well when we asked about them which they blame on covid. The website should be updated to reflect the price increases.They all work on commission so think about that. I realize this is a very lengthy review but I feel the public should be informed.

Emailed them asking about homes no one returned any emails nor sent me homes they were going to send after our visit to the site.

Its always like family when I come here. I bought my home in 2014 and I am still getting great service. The staff is always courteous and respectful. The home has served me well through hurricane and snow seasons. The closing, construction, and service were very professional. Being a 70 year old single guy, the process was easy and stress free. The management and sales team are always helpful to answer and questions years after I bought my home. I would recommend Clayton Homes of Bedford to anyone thinking of buying a new home!

Great customer service! We also looked in Lynchburg, but the sales people are very pushy. Matt and his team are wonderful and answer every question (and we have a lot). They are very knowledgeable and will show you any home you like and be up front about everything. Let them know what your budget is and only look at those in your price range or youll be sad about the expensive ones! Theyre so beautiful!!

I went with my mom as she wanted to purchase a double wide, I tried to talk her out of this as my daughter had a bad experience with Clayton Homes of Bedford. I even told the sales rep that if it was up to me my mother would not be doing business with them. Unfortunately she bought a Doublewide from them and it’s been downhill for the last two years. When they graded the land they did it in such away that with every rain storm she gets a little mudslide into her yard, they didn’t seed properly, so her front yard is nothing but a big mud bath. She asked for a water Spicket in the front of the house, which is a good 10 feet off the ground, completely unusable. She’s had two leaks in her roof in under two years. The first time it was hard to detect as to what the problem was, however, it was determined that some of the nails weren’t holding. The second time when she tried to use the extra insurance she bought she was told that it was due to shoddy workmanship and they would not cover it. A gentleman at Clayton Homes said they would take care of it and they came out and patch the roof. He told her he had to order the paint to repaint the ceiling. She hadn’t heard anything so she left a message to follow up. Somebody named Heather called her back and was so rude, telling her that they were doing her a favor and they would get to it when they could, she was at the bottom of the list because they are doing it for free. In my opinion they aren’t doing her a favor, they’re standing by their workmanship Or lack of it. It would be my recommendation that nobody do business with this company. A roof should have a guarantee on it and when it is shotty workmanship causing leaks then the roof should be redone at the expense of the company that put it on. What is going to happen with the next leak, as I’m sure there will be another!

I purchased my home through Clayton in Bedford over a year ago. I had an issue with my door expanding this summer and I kept forgetting to call. By the time I remembered to call them I was no longer under the one year warranty. However, Carl approved for their maintenance guy to come out and fix it anyways! While he was there he also checked my toilet for me. I could not be more thankful for Carl and Chase.

Had one home to sell on the whole lot! The girl there just handed me a key to go look. No help at all! Staff there is grouchy!

Great customer service . Hats off to Shawn and Carl. They are knowledgeable and take you through every step so you dont have to worry. Your treated like family.

I will tell the world not to buy anything from Clayton homes in Bedford simply because they employ convicted felon Larry Reynolds. Public records show he was convicted of arson!!! I know this thief personally and and have for over twenty yrs.and he has bragged to me several times that he burned down two city blocks of downtown Roanoke VA. In an attempt to collect insurance money for his failing shoe business. He laughed about it!!!He claims to be a Christian but is anything but. He calls his customers trailer trash and Braggs about the profit he charges which is often over twenty thousand dollars on one single sale!!He doesnt even respect his boss. He says he is the worst mgr he has ever worked for and that he has forgotten more about how to be mgr than the current mgr will ever know. I would agree that he has forgotten slot since his alcoholic ass is going senile. He says Carl is jealous of him because because he is a better thief, I mean salesman than Carl. He calls the gentleman with the short leg a gimp. This man is a volunteer firefighter and Larry has said many times I would fire that gimp the first time he went on a fire call, and his mgr was spineless and week for not doing just that. He also has said many times that the gimp firebug is probably starting half the fires. I reminded him that he is the only one that is convicted of arson!!!!You buy from whoever you like but this guy is TRASH!!! He will will come to you as a Christian which is exactly what the devil does!!BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!

They have some of very well built models on their lot, many single and double wides to choose from with all kinds of options & the best prices Ive seen!

This place is a joke don’t know anything about scheduling a construction site at all they are there to grade and the water line is not even installed

Boy was we about to get screwed!Heres how dirty Carl Booth & Clayton Homes is really operate!We wanted to trade our singlewide in and go bigger with a double wide turn key deal!We went and found the land threw a realtor and was approved for the loan and thought we was on our way!The land had been surveyed and we was less than a week away from the land clearing process was to get under way! Then our phone rang with some news that shocked us and saved our credit and butt if you know what I mean!Heres the truth, a week away from signing our John Henrys this little phone call let us know that the land we was getting ready to sign on wasnt zoned for a double wide!The land was only zoned for stick built homes! Wow Carl really!!!If we had put a home on this land the county could have put a emergency seizer order and made us leave immediately!And even worse thanks to Carl booth we would have been stuck with a home and land that we would have still had to pay for!Credit ruined, no where to live and paying a 200,000 loan if it werent for that one phone call!How many other people have already been a victim of this, God only knows!!!My wife and I will never do business with Carl booth/Clayton homes ever again or encourage anyone too!Sincerely B Carter & Teresa Carter
