Ive been dealing with this supplier since September of 2020, its now April 2021. Ive had nothing but outstanding service from them. Courteous, responsive, and prompt. Ill continue doing business with them, for what I see to be a very long time.

Everyone here is super helpful and friendly. We stopped by when we started our project, a paver patio, and ended up getting all our materials here and renting equipment as the prices (especially rental, we grabbed a compactor and trailer to make our lives much easier) are great and they have a huge selection. The knowledgeable staff gave us a ton of good advice and our project turned out great, highly recommend!

Great stone yard. I found the aggregate I wanted and got it delivered and dumped where I wanted for a fair price. Staff is curtious and know their products. I am happy.

I do not have experience with any similar vendors so I cannot offer comparison, but my purchase today was handled efficiently and quickly, with friendly staff.

I read a review about this company that was pretty rough. I am a excavation contractor. This is my two cents. I am surprised that NS is open just about everyday. Rain or shine. I think that alone is big. NS might lose money some days. But nice for customers. The prices might not beat home depot, but Home Depot does not have the inventory. I have also found that prices can be a little flexible. I would hire any of the guys in the yard for my company.I am glad that NS is busy when I go there. It makes me think they will be around for a while. Some times you might wait. I try to treat the people inside with respect. Next time when I see them they seem happy to see me. And I always get good service. Some days might not go perfect. I try to exercise the art of living. Treating strangers like I would like to be treated. With love and respect for those trying to help me buy what I need. I appreciate this company.

The yard has always been well stocked, prompt and very customer focused service. A great place for all your stone needs. I appreciate this is a new world we live in, and it’s an ‘open’ yard, but I feel you are a role model for your customers to protect them. You can’t control others not wearing masks, but if 6 ft difference is not possible, slip a mask up onto your face. Please. Health and safety is a fundamental right.

Our order started off great. We went and picked out rock, had great help with the associates in the office and they answered our questions and provided an estimate. We called back to place the order & ask about bagged forklift delivery into our fenced yard. We gave them the dimensions of the gate and they said no problem and gave a new quote. Which we agreed to and scheduled delivery. We were called a day before delivery & told the forklift would not fit and they would deliver the bagged rock. We could not change the delivery at this point, because it was already bagged. So now I was charged a much larger delivery fee & realistically got nothing for it. 2 bags of rock that I still have to haul myself & Im out more money. Will not be back.

We ordered gravel for our Grandmas house, and Mike delivered it this morning. He was VERY helpful and friendly. He did a wonderful job with placement just as grandma asked for. Thank you so much for your family friendly customer service!

Im a little baffled by this place.Ive never experienced anything quite like it.My boyfriend called them to order mulch and gravel, gave them the dimensions of the spaces we needed to fill, and then asked what amount of each material they would suggest we order. We followed their suggestion but ended up with way too much mulch and not nearly enough gravel. I mean approximately 1/2 of the amount of gravel we would really need.The mulch had a bunch of trash in it. Things like produce stickers, soda can tabs, etc.. and the mulch itself (black mulch) looks like top soil - Ive never used black mulch before though so that could be just how it looks.They would set a day for delivery but refused to provide a delivery time or even a delivery window.There are two stars instead of one because the guy who delivered the gravel was very friendly and helpful.That said, Im definitely not planning to recommend this place to anyone.

I call them on the phone they quoted me $317 for a 16 by 22 pond liner.I was on hold for several minutes why they check their stock to make sure they have it.When I showed up to pick up my order the price was now $430.More than a $100 increase.They wanted to sell me a bunch of extra material that I didnt need and were not willing To cut down and roll.

Ive been here a few times to get different rocks, stones, boulders, pavers, etc for different projects. They have a large variety and inventory, but are a bit pricey. The last couple times Ive been in a track on the bobcat has been broken making it difficult to get the larger maple ridge rocks Ive been eyeing. Im almost done with this project and really needed just a few more. Spoke to a few of the staff who didnt think Id be able to get them. Then Bill came along. He worked his magic and limped the bobcat over using just the good track. He got the specific large rocks I wanted. It took a lot longer than usual since the whole place was really busy, but the staff especially Bill made it happen. This project is now done. Thanks to the great staff and the friendly lady cashier that made it happen. I just hope they fix that bobcat soon as I have another project in the works.

Great landscaping products and good service.

We went to Northstar yesterday for the first time and have never purchased rocks before! We were a little uneasy when we got there, not sure how the process worked, and it was pretty chaotic (lots of people). But as soon as we got out of our car (probably looked a little lost) an employee, Zach, asked if we needed help. We told him we had no idea how the process worked. He walked us through how to choose our rocks and he helped us weigh them. He even helped load our car. Then we found out Zach has only been working there a couple days! It was excellent service. The woman in the office was also incredibly nice. We will be back!

Fantastic selection, great service.

I’ve always had great experience with customer service and product. Today I rented a lawn roller at 9am and was told if I returned within 4 hours I would only be charged for a half day. I made a special trip in 2 hours to return it. I was told no, I misquoted you earlier when I said that, rollers are by day or week. I think they should have honored what was said even if they misquoted me. It’s was only a $16 charge but it’s the principal.

Fantastic staff despite the chaotic times. When the crazy hits (think gorgeous early-spring Saturday afternoon) the staff was courteous, helpful and friendly. Im going to try to remember each of their names, but really, this review is about their performance as an orchestra - working together - that made my experience so great. Sydney is a master juggler. She calculated the square footage of stone needed from a pattern while fielding several phone calls and directing staff to other customers waiting - shes a pro. Tim (tracking each stone as he unloaded and carefully restacked into our trailer) knew exactly how many stones we should haul in our single axel trailer and recognized us the second we returned for a second haul. And Jared gave me the answers I needed via email to be able to complete the project. All in all this paved walkway project was successful due to the great people involved. Thanks Northstar!

NorthStar has amazing selection and such a helpful friendly staff! I want to give Tony Lopez a special shout out! He went the extra mile helping me design and cut a hearthstone.

Ordered 1.25 limestone. Did not receive this at all. Received a rock product that had mostly sand and some stone. I called to let customer service know of this error. This person gave me a cell phone contact and to send pictures which I did, and left a call back number. Never received a call back. Sent a test message again without a call back. Do not ever order over the telephone as there reps do not know product. I am disappointed with not even a courtesy call. Will not shop again at Northstar.

As a contractor I have never seen such a disorganized stressful environment from a supplier in my entire life. Immediately upon arrival there’s so much junk everywhere it’s unbelievable. You have to basically go through a corn maze to find parking. Once you do find parking be aware one of the employees at North star might hop in to your vehicle and move it out of convenience sake for them. Once you tell them that it was NOT OK they will respond with,most of our customers don’t mind. The entire inside of the building is scattered full of dust and dirt and disorganized shelving of different miscellaneous materials creating a super non customer friendly environment. The ladies at the front desk are clearly incompetent as to what is going on due to lack of organization. When I call in an order for our landscaping projects, upon arrival they have no idea what order I was talking about and I need to wait there for quite some time for my order to get prepared to be picked up. This happens literally every time, when I told the lady at the front desk why does it happen every time she told me that I am not the only customer that she has. They do not value their customer. It shows in their prices that are way through the roof, the customer service that lacks poor insight and are constantly stressed out, and there insanely disgusting attitude. Don’t support the store. The employees who work there arent treated properly, and they are highway robbing everyone of their clients with all their prices.

Delivery drivers are some of the rudest weve delt with. Very unprofessional and inexperienced (or perhaps just dont care enough to do a halfway decent job) thoroughly unimpressed.

We are a custom masonry contractor and have been using Northstar as a supplier for a few years now. They have always been super responsive to bid request, their pricing is always the most competitive., great people to work with. We have dealt with every supplier from Canada to North Bend and Northstar is the best by far. No other supplier has taken such good care of us. Not to mention they always have really beautiful products in stock that we cant find anywhere else on hand. Most places have to order material and that can take months.

This place is great!! Ive came in here quite a few times and the customer service is excellent. Everyone there has a lot of knowledge and is very friendly and goes over the top for you!! I would recommend this company to anyone!!!

My wife and I decided to explore building a fireplace hearth. Our knowledge of masonry was basically nonexistent. We went to Northstar for information and found the people we dealt with to be extremely helpful. I mention specifically Heather and Jose as they are the two we worked with. Both were quick to understand our thinking and help us select the materials we would need to do the job ourselves. I find it almost a rarity in this day and age to find employees of a company to be so willing to take time and offer all the assistance we needed to take on a job. Worst customet service I have had in a long while. After answering the phone, i was asked how i could be helped. I asked 2 quesrions and was told to hold while the lady got the pricing sheet to answer my quesrions. 5 minutes passed before she returned to the line. Again i was asked how i couod be helped. So i asked my questions anew. The lady cut me of asking me what i was talking about. I stated i simply was waiting for someone to return with a pricing sheet. She again cut me off saying she did not have time to answer my quesrions. I was blown away at just how bad the service was.. save your money and avoid this place.

Absolutely wonderful staff and very fast service. I visited for my first time to pick up 1/4 yard of drain rock and was in-and-out in less than 10min.

I tend to get pretty simple stuff, crushed rock for the driveway type of things, but theyre always nice and pretty efficient.If I ever need landscaping rocks and such Id shop them first.
