They all but broke the neck on my bass, don’t go there for repairs. They raised my truss rod, and I was told it was set up for playing metal, that’s great, except that I don’t play metal. So I tried to have the lady in the shop fix it, but after 30 minutes we got nowhere. Plus I was told that I would get a phone call when my Bass was ready to be picked up, but I received no such call. I had to call them myself to see if it was ready, turns out, it had been ready all day. If you could call what the did ready. In short, thanks mojo for setting my instrument that I use on church up to play a genre of music I don’t even listen to without telling me that’s what they were doing. Now the dang thing hardly plays
Lovely place to visit with awesome staff!Check them out for all your music needs!
This is a good place to get instruments for school. The payments are very affordable and the staff has always been nothing but kind and helpful. I recommend them to anyone that is looking for lessons or musical instruments.
Probably the best equipped local music store (so, thats not counting Guitar Center, but Mojo is a 100% local business, which is information I like to know when I buy). At one point we also had Manna Music, similarly well-equipped (& confusingly similar sounding name, eh?), but that closed some years ago.If you need more of a mega store like a Guitar Center but are still a fan of buying from a locally-owned business, and arent averse to driving a few miles, Hugo Helmer music, in sight of I-5 down around Mt. Vernon, has a more Guitar Center like vibe. But Mojo Music is smaller & more personal in nature... you go in there a few times and theyre likely to end up knowing your name 😏. And its always helpful when shopping in a music store if the sales staff knows you personally and knows where your interests lie.I should point out, in closing, that Im a guitar player and singer, and a casual one, not trained formally, so bear in mind that my viewpoint here is skewed in those directions.
Planning on coming again.great place but forgot to ask if you guys do ukulele lessons?
The best price on renting a saxophone for my son who is in the middle school band. They are really knowledgeable and helpful, too!
Mojo’s rental program is great! Our family has been renting various instruments for band for many years and my kids have been very happy with the quality of their products.
Have been a customer of Mojo for several years now, I’ve had guitar lessons there and now renting a saxophone for my son from Mojo. The staff have always been great and the new owners have been super nice and personable. Support your local, small businesses folks. Support Mojo Music Discount!!
I have worked with Mojo Music for years and made many fine purchases from them. Rarely have had any problems with purchases or pricing (I usually just ask if they can offer a better price than x competitor and they do their best to match it, and usually beat their competitors prices!) Not many retail stores will haggle over the listed top retail price with customers but they always work with me.Their School of Music located inside the shop is really where they shine. They have a handful of great qualified local instructors in most areas of music to choose from. The price for lessons is comparable with most instructors in the area who may not be as qualified and usually teach in their home or garage. I have seen great results in my students ability to gain the skills needed to play and enjoy their instruments!Being a private music instructor I have sent dozens of students to Mojo for their purchases and they have a very high satisfaction rating among my parents & students. Again most go in asking for what they have found online or in a trade magazines and Mojo does their best to offer the best competitive pricing.I would recommend Mojo Music to anyone looking for a musical purchase, from kiddie toys to a top-end professional instrument and wanting to support a more local economy.
Heres the thing. You know how there are some stores that try to make huge profits on single sales to make up for the lack of volume? Thats these guys. I keep trying to give them a chance. But each time I leave thinking holy smokes, thats a lot of money. For instance. Took my guitar in to have some pickups wired. 65$ is what I was told it would cost. Have it back in a couple of days. GREAT!!!! no sweat. Turns out, Steve ( the tech ) couldnt do it. Which is no problem at all. So it was sent out to another guy to get done. Nearly 2 weeks later, its finally done. I go to pick it up... TWICE THE PRICE!!! And no one said a single word before the work was done. And... one of the backplate screw holes was destroyed in the process. Son of a...Moral of the story... No Christmas card for these guys.
Love this place. New owner. Really nice.
I really liked Mojo. Enjoy your retirement Sir
Friendly staff, great instrument selection, fair prices. If you want great customer service, shop here! I am never disappointed.
Ive always had a great experience shopping here. No pressure, just friendly advice. Did an exchange with no difficulty as well. A class act.
Heard they were closing down, glade to hear it. I was talking with the guy about classical guitars and he just walks away in the middle of a conversation. Shop somewhere else and help this guitar shop go outta business. Plz:)
Great customer service. I phone in my Christmas order each year and they pull it and have it ready for me. So helpful. Thanks guys.
Last year I bought a bass from them and they worked hard to meet my difficult customer needs—I brought a synth for trade-in, paid partial on credit card and the rest via PayPal. Very accommodating and friendly. Ive been in several more times for small odd and ends purchases and got the same friendly service each time. Its the kind of service you just dont get at big chain stores.
Great place for guitar stuff. And they have a nice spectrum of guitars on the wall to try if youre shopping for a new one.
My son won a New Years promo raffle guitar a few years back (based on entries receive for purchases during the year). He is finally aged to learn how to play guitar, and turns out the neck was defective (worst neck ever seen according to top repair, needs new neck). Sure, it was free - but dumping defective guitar through a give-a-way promotion is not best way to promote your store.
SHOP LOCAL. Love the staff here. Always got along well with Rick, who goes out of his way to answer questions, but without getting in your face about sales, like they do at guitar center. I will always choose mojo over the obese, monopolized corporation that is guitar center/musicians friend.
Awful (and mean) guitar tech, save yourself from a bad experience with him and just go to guitar center. They are nicer and way cheaper
Absolutely the shadiest and least professional company in the business. They will scam you from beginning to end, lie to your face and over charge you every chance they get. RUN. Do not walk away from these lying scammers.
Mojos return policy is store credit only. That is NOT, however, what their website says. That is ALSO not what they told my wife, who was buying me a gift. After saying theyd go to bat for me, the staff in the store proceeded to give me crappy cajon after crappy cajon. (Theyre expensive wooden boxes that break if you play them with your hands.) After bringing this up to the office staff, they claimed no knowledge of the problem, said Mojo has gone above and beyond, and refused to give us our money back.In short, DONT SHOP HERE.Anything is better than having this place take your money and give you nothing but broken instruments.
Awesome staff who provide great customer service.
This place is closed now thanks Guitar Center.
Thank you for the memories!! Great local shop.
