I adore Belmont Books. They have a great selection of books for all types of readers. The staff is knowledgeable and able to help you choose books. If you’re not an “ask the staff” type person, they have great displays of books from Staff Picks to TikTok made me read it.

Great place and the black bear cafe is fantastic. The coffee is delicious and so are the pastries,good quality and wide variety. They integrate new items to the menu from time to time like soups or mac and cheese which is nice and again very tasty. I am glad there is such place in Belmont and it is definitely my new favorite spot in town.

Such a great local bookstore! I really appreciated how, when a pre-order was delayed due to COVID related supply chain disruptions, they were super helpful, reaching out to keep me updated on the status of the order. Plus theres a Cafe in the store with delicious coffee and pastries.

Loved my experience here the other day. I went in to buy a couple books for my sons, 8 and 12, and found myself lost in the childrens section. A worker came to me and asked if I needed any help, and pointed me in the direction of some delightful mysteries Id never heard of. Very kind and helpful girl, and clearly knew her stuff! Her name was Mindy or Minnie (hard to hear with masks!) and she looked young enough to know all her middle grade books. It was my first time here but Ill definitely be returning soon since my sons have already devoured her recommendations!

My Hands get very bad allergic reaction to most of the sanitizers. I use one I carry with me. When entering store I was very aggressively and ruthlessly asked to apply hand sanitizer and if not will be not enter.It was a young man.I would love to support local businesses, but with this approach will not work.I ordered all needs on Amazon.Order in amount of $ 175.00And it will be delivered to my door tomorrow.

I thought Belmont Books was great pre-COVID and just experienced their curbside pickup for the first time- submitting my order online was super easy, the store was really communicative about when books would be available for pickup, and the pickup itself was totally contactless and safe. So glad I can still buy local for the holidays-- thank you!!

Really charming local bookstore. The book selection is satisfying and offers quite unique and interesting titles as well. The prices are competitive with big chain bookstores and reasonable. The children’s area is packed with lots of fun books, toys, games and puzzles. Great spot to hit for birthday gifts. The book selection is good, My kids always find titles they like. There is little nooks and chairs for kids to sit and flip through books. The bookstore also has a cafe that sells great coffee and tasty pastries. The atmosphere is bright and cheery and the store is always neat and clean. It is definitely worth a trip if you have it done it so far!

Charming little two-story book store, in a lovely part of Belmont. I had passed by this shop many a time and finally had a chance to go in one day. They had great local products like hand made bags, and also some books from well known writers. They have a cafe on site, which was lovely, and some seating as well, if you wanted to stay and read while having your order from the cafe.Upstairs was the childrens section, which was adorable, and which also includes game and toys, and a tiny reading nook for the children visiting. I loved this shop, and would love to go back again.

This is wonderful. A great place to work, do homework, or read books for hours on end. The cafe is great, I especially suggest the hot chocolate. Belmont Books has a great variety of not only books, but also journals and a nice little reading spot upstairs near the staircase. This is a great place for books gifts, especially for young children, there is a lot of variety. Its a wonderful bookstore, and I absolutely suggest going to it to buy books or even just to browse.

Excellent bookstore - for its size [more than large enough ] one of the best out there. Whomever does the selecting does a great job as I found about 20 that I wanted - settled for 5 but Ill be back. Look we all know that we can get books for a couple of dollars less - from he who must not be named, sometimes even more than a couple - but when we dont have stores like this in the neighborhood, life is much poorer. You dont ever read that perfect book you had never heard of and wasnt a bestseller but it changed your worldview forever - how many bucks is that worth? I had way more fun today with my pile of 20 books to look through than at any movie Ive seen in years and the movie is over in 90 minutes, Ill have weeks of pleasure reading the books and theyll be readily available for the rest of my life [ a slight exaggeration since my library filing could use some improvement, although cleaning under the bed is always like Christmas but with presents under the bed rather than a tree] .But Do THE RIGHT THING AND SUPPORT THIS STORE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN

It is amazing. I can be on earth one second and the next I am in the lounge on the childrens floor engrossed in a book for hours. The food is also great, the coffee is outstanding and the tea is addicting. If you go there, try out every single book in the shop

If they dont have what youre looking for, they can order it (books, not coffee--try to be less literal and more literary) and then you can pick it up when its convenient for you. I was a visitor from the Hawaii where I usually use Barnes &Noble on line. This Massachusetts book store was wonderfully put together, the clerks were great and helpful, and I ended up buying 3 books that I had known were available. The little coffee bar in store was great and helped warm me up!

The ladies were super helpful and friendly. They attended to me so efficiently. I was in and out of there in a matter of minutes. Pleasant and very inviting atmosphere. One could easily sit, relax and get lost in a book there.

Belmont Books is a wonderful local bookstore with a fantastic collection. The kids section upstairs is particularly amazing, with all of the classics, lots of new books, and a fun layout. Excellent bookstore with amazing staff. We love the kids section upstairs. One of my daughters favorite things is coming here for a new book, and then reading it in the kids nook by the window. Great themed events, too - since signing up for the email list, weve been here for Harry Potter night, Halloween parties, etc... really glad to have a local bookstore like this!

Cute place, good book selection but I was disappointed by the card selection (all were stereotypically girly/trendy) and then at check out, before I could ask if debit was okay for a small purchase, cashier asked for cash but said it was okay when I didn’t have any. Got a little comment about “how small businesses have to pay for every transaction” (which is true! I WORKED at an indie bookstore!!) that I just felt was unnecessary and rubbed me the wrong way. Would have preferred a “sorry, cash only” than the guilt trip.

Belmont Books is a great local bookstore. They host fun events, have a cafe, and always have a lot of great stock to peruse. I try to go here before looking to Amazon. Support local business!

Very friendly service, and a charming, quaint atmosphere. The lady who helped me even offered to wrap the book as I mentioned it was a gift for a relative. I was in a hurry, but I will definitely come back and spend some time exploring their selection.

I didnt buy anything but the atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. Great aroma of coffee and an interesting employee recommendation system, where they leave little placards describing their favorites. If you like small indie bookstores, thats what they describe themselves as!

One of my favorite places in the universe. The staff is warm, friendly and helpful and they know books. The store is good about ordering something that you might not find on their shelves. Belmont is fortunate to have this store and everyone in the town should go out of his/her way to patronize it instead of e.g., the dreaded Amazon. The store has a small cafe with good coffee-- a cool place to meet a friend.

This is a new and welcome addition to Belmont Center. Its a quality bookstore with a fine coffee shop and baked goods and space to hang out. In my opinion a big improvement over the dark and cramped Starbucks a bit down the street. I hate to get the word out and risk this place getting crowded but they definitely deserve a positive review. Awesome banana muffins. Good coffee. Finally, the fact that they manage to sell books in the era of Amazon is refreshing. Enjoy!

Belmont has been waiting for a bookstore but who knew it would be one that fills so many needs and is pretty to look at too?! Belmont Books has a great selection of grown up books and a wonderful childrens section with an extensive range of options beyond your standard picture books and chapter series. They have a staff to write home about who will order anything, find anything and laugh at your jokes. The store is also host to local writers for intimate evenings of readings and talks beyond the crowds of ticketed book signings at some stores (though ticketed events have merit too!) Add in delicious coffees, teas and fresh bakery items from the in-store Black Bear Cafe and behold bookstore nirvana.Come for the books, stay for the coffee, come back for the people. Happy reading!
