Love the store - really nice items for home/kitchen and great gifts. I regularly find things here that I havent seen at other houseware stores (especially some of the chains you find in malls in the area). Also, I regularly take my knives here ... quick turnaround, great job (with nice sleeves when I get them back) and reasonable prices.

My kitchen knives were very dull. I took one to Local Root for sharpening to see how it came out. It was $15 and they did a nice job. It cuts so much better. I will be bringing in some more for sharpening when I get the chance. Limited street parking because it is in busy Belmont Center. I went on a Sunday and parking was better. The ladies who waited on me were as nice as could be. I believe the turn around is 2 days. I picked up a week later on Sunday for parking convenience.

Just got some knives sharpened here. Quality work, pleasant customer service, quick turn around. All at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for?

I had four of my knives (a serrated bread knife, santoku, chefs knife, and a Chinese style cleaver) sharpened during quarantine, and they did a *fantastic* job. Ive been to other knife sharpeners in the area, and none of them are as professional as they were at Local Root. I dropped the knives off on Friday in a little bin outside the shop, and picked them up 48 hours later, each of them sheathed in a little JA Henckels knife guard. When I got home, they each sliced through paper like butter, and I finally got to live my chef dreams of cutting transparent slices of tomato. I cant recommend the knife sharpening at Local Root enough.

Local Root will sharpen your kitchen knifes for you at a very good price. I had my knife sharpened there and the final result is excellent. Really great service, too! Highly recommend.

Came in for the knife sharpening. A Santoku, fillet, sushi knife, and a Kramer kitchen knife. All came out great. The Kramer had some minor restoration done on it also from some rusting after long term storage. All had 48 hour turn around. The rest of the store is great with some high end kitchen tools and appliances. Its a little like Williams and Sonoma but will the local shop feel going for it. Definitely a great place.

Brought my abused Shun chef’s knife in with a broken tip and 2 big chips in the edge. Came back like new in a couple of days.

I live within walking distance from the new Local Root/Didriks in Belmont Ctr. Walked into the store and felt like a kid in a candy shop.I was greeted by staff . I heard that one can get knives sharpened at the store. I am married for almost 62 years and my knives look almost as old as I. I came back in this Sunday . To my surprise I was not laughed at and was told that my knives would be ready on Tuesday. I came in today and all eight knives had been restored, each one was in a cardboard shield and once again I was treated with great respect. Now, I wish that I could throw out all my old cook and bake ware, table linens etc and stock up right here. This is just a pipe dream but there are always gifts to be purchased and even more knives to be sharpened. So delighted that you are here.

I have three Wusthof knives- 1 chefs knife and two santoku knives. I love cooking and use them almost constantly. I dropped in and was attended to immediately. They were done in 48 hours and very considerately sheathed for safe transport. The quality of the work was exceptional and they really could not have made the process any more simple. They also included a small card with tips on how to take good care of my knives on a daily basis, which I appreciated a lot. Very fair pricing and excellent customer service. Large selection of heckles knives and also offers sharpening service. You can find just about everything you need for a kitchen there. The staff is also very friendly.

Great small but very well stocked kitchenwares. Higher end but all well worth it if you enjoy cooking, and want things that last a life time.
