Id say a top notch place for body shop and mechanical repairs...very thorough
This is going to be a great review - but in the form of a long-ish story.Having rented an RV in the middle of 2020 to rescue my mother-in-law stuck in Florida, during the pandemic - it turned out to be a-better-than-expected-experience. Before I knew it, my wife was scouring Craigslist and RVTrader ready to convince me that we needed our own RV.Of course, I did not want to buy a used (or new) RV and of course, that had no bearing on the fact that I found myself buying a used 2002 Minnie Winnie from a lovely family from Alaska who had lived in it for the past year and a half and had found themselves on the eastern shore of Maryland ready to move to a boat full time. The unit was meticulously maintained and immaculately clean - with only 71K miles, even though it was 18 years old.Next was the task of state inspection and a thorough check up.My wife had been looking around and had come across ATELs - and initially spoke with Oscar, with whom she quickly built a rapport. We brought the RV in for the work required by the inspection company (Miller Automotive Service which was right around the block). They performed that work - we got the unit re-inspected at Miller (it passed) - and then brought it back to ATELs for additional work.During this time, we got to know the owner of ATELs - Brian - and it was pretty clear that we were all peas in a pod. He loves RVs and Trucks. He loves his team. He was fanatical about following safety protocols during the pandemic. And he enjoyed talking with us about everything under the sun - but especially to give us tips and tricks as we were brand new RV owners. Here’s where I’ll take a break and state the obvious - buying an RV whether new or used - is an expensive endeavor. An RV is like a boat, but with wheels. And “boat” jokingly stands for “Break out another thousand.” Our RV was 18 years old. It was nice and clean and drove nicely. But it still needed work. By the way - there’s the “Truck Part” and there’s the “House Part.” Each has their own systems and you need technicians who know how to find problems and then fix them.So - none of this was cheap - because when you have someone working on your RV that’s been doing this for 10-15-20 years - you need to pay for that expertise. Our first trip was to take my Mother-in-law back to Florida for the winter. The RV drove beautifully. It’s built on a Ford E450 chassis - and my understanding is that this is an excellent foundation. We had some newbie issues on the way down and I called Brian. Brian checked in with me continuously. We even did a Google Meet call on my phone - so I could point the camera at the issue and he could provide pointers. As someone in the IT Profession, I found it funny that I was on the receiving end of technical support instead of providing it. Brian would not rest until he was satisfied that we were good to go. And that sealed the deal.I highly recommend ATEL Bus and Truck Service Center because of the excellent service we received. I also encourage you to communicate with Brian and watch and manage your expenses. Some items need to be fixed right now. Some items, that aren’t safety related, might be able to wait. Set and communicate your expectations and work with Brian - and he will work with you. Youre going to need a place to bring your RV back to - year after year. If you have a good relationship with that place - it will work for everyone involved.
Great place to repair/maintain your RV. Very knowledgeable owner and team.
I purchased a 2019 coachmen 29ss brand new off the lot. Never owned a class A didnt know what to expect when driving it. Im in tune with my vehicles - when something is wrong I notice and try to fix it or get it fixed. I thought the coach drove funny and needed alignment and balance. Dealer test drove it with me and told me this is how class As drive.I got sick of it and took it to ATEL after having an extensive phone conversation with Brian. He explained all the issues hes seen on these coaches straight off the lot - bad wheel bearings, bad alignments, wheels unbalanced. At first I wondered if he was just upselling - but he took a long time out of his day to talk to me - on more than one occasion, about his experience in working on these coaches. I took (what I thought at the time) was a chance. I knew it was going to cost a lot but if it made the RV drive better and made it feel safer, it would be worth it.Im so glad I did! It was night and day driving it after his shop worked on it. They had to fix wheel bearing issues, do a roadforce balance, rotate tires due to uneven wear (at only 7000 miles) and match them to the proper loaction, and do an alignment.Brian was awesome - very thorough, very knowledgeable, very helpful and empathetic. Im glad I finally found a place I can take my RV to and get it worked on - completely. Many places seem to either do chassis, or appliances, or electrical, or plumbing or bodywork or some combination. ATEL does it all.I know its not cheap and I know it may sound like hes being a salesman. I can tell you - I knew nothing about Brian or ATEL before using them except what the reviews stated and Im so happy to know I can go somewhere that will fix the coach correctly.
Spoke with Brian about our Tiffin. He was professional and respectful throughout the whole process. Great guys doing great work! Thank you.
We always bring our vans and trucks to their shop, they’re very professional honest people. They always let us know if there anything else that should be fixed before performing any labor. And that’s how you know they’re good mechanics.
Brian and his staff are very easy to deal with and do a great job of keeping my companys specialized bus serviced and functional.
Brian is a flat out thief! Make him give you a written estimate each time for anything. Ripped me off for $3,000! I paid almost $5000 to get a starter replaced and 2 coach batteries. I will have to take to court. Trying to make payroll during pandemic by taking advantage of customers. Stay away If you can. Brian- pleez spare me any sarcastic response full of lies.Just wanted to say small claims court is coming - 3,600 over charge - pure labor and not a fault or defect on the other of this inflated labor- ALSO No estimate or verbal notice - just a blank check - rolling tab!! Consumer Protection Laws intended to protect US from sharks and unscrupulous vendors- I hope Maryland Attorney General takes a look at this Crook! Stay Away- You could be next!
On our way back from our annual fall camping trip last year we were involved in an accident with our rv. Brian and his staff answered the call and took our coach for repairs. COVID made it nearly impossible to get parts so the return took longer than anticipated for us but when we picked it up it looked like brand new. I appreciate their attention to detail on matching the paints and thorough inspection of our rv and would recommend them to anyone.
Brian, Junior and team were just fantastic at getting our RV on the schedule last minute, working with us on our travel schedule, and getting our Thor ACE 27.2 handing better for the long journey back across the country. We had a front end alignment, two new front tires and added a steering stabilizer all of which made the coach easier to handle and gave us more confidence to drive it. I highly recommend Brian and the team at ATEL.
We were blessed to find ATEL during an emergency when the exhaust pipe pulled away from the muffler on a rental motorhome, during covid in PA when businesses were shutdown.! Brian answered the phone personally and made space for us. His crew spent 5 hrs fabricating parts for the repair and even gave us homemade banana nut bread for our trip home to SC. His team is amazing and I would give 10* if possible. Friend for life. Simply the best.
My best friend that is a retired older widowed veterans wife, was kind enough to bring me and my immune compromised daughter to the National Institute of Health in her RV. On the way we had a tire problem and when the tire was off the front end we realized our front brake pads were low. When we got there she dropped us off at the hospital for a week and took to the RV to have them replaced. They gave her a list of things that “ Had to be Done “ that totaled $5000 . They bullied her into $2000 in repairs we didn’t need and refused to change the front brake pads without changing them all for an additional $1000 and charged $175 for a brake inspection. She was in tears. They took serious advantage of a woman with little engine knowledge. They did replace the master cylinder and didn’t even fill it back up. It did not need to be replaced on a 27k engine. I had the engine gone through before we left. DON’T USE THEM they will Rip You Off given the opportunity.
ATEL Bus & Truck Service Center provided my wife and I very good professional service. Brian Connolly and his team listen carefully to our requests and answered all of questions. Brian was honest and shared his insight and knowledge about our RV. We are first time buyers so he was helpful in explaining things about the RV that we didn’t know about. It makes you feel good that Brian and his team are knowledgeable along with excellent customer service. Thank you so much. We will be using ATEL for any future service needs. So if you want to get honest feedback, go see Brian and his staff at ATEL Bus & Truck Service Center, Inc
Very good customer service and reasonable prices
Owner and staff are knowledgeable, and professional. We took our 45 Motor Coach to ATEL Bus & Truck with several complex issues, one of which we had heard through social media, required several owners to make two or three visits to the manufacturer before being resolved. Our coach was fixed correctly on the first visit. I cannot say enough good things about ATEL Bus & Truck.
The service provided by this company has been phenomenal. Our school has been in a crunch numerous times and they always make time for us. Their work area is always clean and sparkly. The workers are exceptional helpful.
Awesome people and fantastic service. Really dependable. Theyre always reliable and friendly. Fair pricing as well. We couldnt be happier with everything Atel provided to ensure business keeps moving.
Brian and crew turned our rusted out 2002 F250 into a beautiful site to behold! From a new bed, tailgate, and doors all the way to the frame. We also had our 5th wheel camper’s delamination repaired which required structural damage repairs under the luan. Throughout the process Brian remained in contact with us and has been more than receptive to adjustments that were needed months later. We highly recommend Atel Bus and Truck!!
They did a lot of work for me on my Silverado. Very reliable and honest. Much more efficient then most places. Highly recommend.
Recently made a visit to ATEL for repairs to our “home away from home”. Treated like royalty from start to finish. The ATEL service center was clean and well organized as was their management team. With professional, timely and curtious service from these guys we were on our way in no time- great work ATEL!
Brian took personal charge of the several issues affecting our RVHe and his staff were outstandingIn fact I would strongly recommend this outfit to correct or repair ANY RV issue! They know their stuffFive stars from us
I went there with a flat air suspension for my trailor. Loved the the direct and absolute honesty. Had it fixed within my timeframe : i was direct and they handled my attitude well and fixed the issue on a good term
They do good work on buses
Took my motorhome here for insurance claim for paint job.Painter seemed pretty detailed in the look over the coach but after a month still no estimate.Called 3 times and no call back.Use Roys autobody in sykesville Maryland rop notch service an work.Seems like Atel doesnt have very good costumee service.
What a great service center capable of handling any maintenance issue. We have a 2006 class C motorhome by Lazy Daze and have not been able to find a company near our home in Birmingham to handle repairs on our E450 chassis. Atel did everything we asked them to do and more and reviewed each completed item on our list. Great group of people. Recommend them to anyone needing motorhome service.
Very clean facility, organized, secure and safe place for my 38 ft motorhome. Professional Body and paint repairs, will refer my friends famiky and club membersMorris
Atel Bus and Truck Svc found a problem with slide out motor in my motorhome. I had an extended warranty on the motorhome. However they overcharged me with 17 hours of labor. I called the manufacturer to see how many hours it ll take to diagnose the problem and replace the motor for slide out. The manufacturer told me it only takes 3 hours to do this work. I was ripped off by 14 hours and ended up paying $1400. I should pay only $100 deductible. I encourage you not to use their service unless you know the final cost before repair.
Great body and paint on my truck, company trucks, etc... The owner Brian, and the staff are great to deal with.
Repeating the oil I initially ordered was semi-synthetic like a mantra doesnt change the fact the Atelbus attempted to charge me full retail for fourteen gallons of it. And its obvious that truck wasnt brought in until late yesterday afternoon, which is Atelbus fault. I did not receive a reviewable work quote estimate until 10:11 AM Thursday morning after which I had already left my office. So, the owners apologies rings hollow because Atelbus neglected adjust the bill to reflect the massive service failure. And the fact that Atelbus inspected a truck it hadnt checked for deficiencies beforehand costing me $260 is flat out unethical. And Brain Connolly ought to be ashamed of himself if this business model is how Altebus conducts business... cheating customers out of their money, and than blaming them for his companys mistakes. Let the buyer beware.
Very nice place, very organized.
Respectful business
