They wouldnt allow demo of the headphones. I get that there is a covid situation, so I asked why not use some safe sanitation wipes? One of the reps just said Yeaaaaah, Im not about to do that for 3 thousand dollar headphones. Okay, so from a business perspective, you have a customer driving in from who knows how far and is ready to spend that much on headphones... and you cant even sanitize the headphones so that a customer can hear the headphones hes trying to buy? He kept saying those long Yeaaaaahs and it was really annoying. Even if I couldnt demo it, I get it, its their choice... But there was zero hospitality here.

If you are looking for a shopping experience unlike any other, you have to visit Music Lovers Audio.I have always thought of it as a club for audiofiles as well as the Very Best place to find anything audio or visual.One of my favorite rooms is the used gear room. I found a tube amp for $600bucks...sweeeet!

Don’t come here, go anywhere else instead. The staff and owner were extremely toxic with how they handled a polite request to demo headphones. I told them I’m coming from out of state and asked if there was any way to demo them without affecting their business while complying with COVID regulations and just check them out. The owner said “ We don’t need to sell them and we don’t want you here”. I replied saying that that statement was pretty antagonistic and the sales person started accusing me of being rude to them and saying that I was attacking them. There was also a large group of people gathered in the main space that for sure did not comply with 6ft apart rule. I would highly suggest finding elsewhere to go for audio needs.

Just went into this store today. I accidently made an app. to listen to some speakers in the SF store but the Berkeley location took me in and took the time to set up a demo for the bottom line bookshelf from Paradigm.The demo was set up in a sensible way, pairing the $320 bookshelves with an integrated amp that makes sense money wise.I am hoping Music Lovers will get more items in in my price range or even better, my situation could improve to upgrade to higher level stuff.In this day and age an acutal HiFi store is a rarity and I am glad to support them whenever I can.

Worked with Marc who was very helpful on short notice. They have some top end equipment and a great upgrade policy.Pro-tip: set up an appointment a few days out so they can get the equipment set up for you before you get there. Select some music you know that you want to listen to.

Ive been buying speakers and components from here for more than 5 years. The staff are amazingly knowledgeable, and really care. Theyve never been pushy, and are always able to answer my questions. As far as Im concerned this is the best audio store in the bay area.

Great place to buy headphones and amplification/dac devices to go with them. Just starting to get into higher quality headphones and found the service by Grant excellent. He gives you information for you to try out and buy something rather than trying to sell you something. They have soundless music for you to listen to as well as all the devices needed to connect. I wish there were a few more headsets to try out from brands like AKG, but theyve picked still a large selection of really good favorites with brands like Grado, Sony, Sennheiser and more.

Seems like a nice store. . .terrible service by Harry. I stopped in today to see if I wanted to get myself something nice for my birthday - other options being a nicer car or Hublot watch. Greeted by a guy named Harry - who was very condescending and unhelpful. He was poorly dressed, poorly spoken - so, tried to be nice and guide him to be helpful. . .in the end, the guy was worse than a used car salesman - no clue/perception, no manners and seemed to have a serious short man syndrome. Its shocking. . .place selling high end audio, comes with such poor service. Will never go again.

When I went there for the first time for some head phones, it became clear that this is the only place in the East Bay where you should get your audio stuff. Head phones and ear buds are the items where you need to get the best you can afford, and they have them for you
