First off this a creative name. And ITS GOOD!Secondly, and more importantly, is the quality of the coffee. Based on a Hawaiian theme, the story of how the shop got its name is interesting. The shop also serves a variety of sandwiches and pastries. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. The staff were friendly and helpful. While we were there they called a patron by name..a happy repeat customer. You have to make an interesting loop to get to this place because of how the highway is. Its not difficult, but you need to pay attention. It is most definitely worth the effort to come in and enjoy a coffee at this place.
Well was very excited to try one of their hand held burritos...this thing is a greasy Walmart made for you mess. The cheese is like nacho cheese along with goopy boxed scrambled eggs. The potatoes look like the Walmart generic French fries and with the bacon it creates this slop food that soaks the Walmart tortilla to where your hand held has become soup. I attempted to bite the burrito and grease poured onto my lap. Within a few minutes my grease tortilla became unstable and fell apart due to the sogginess. So sad. I love breakfast burritos but this is slop trucker stop gas station food. They get a star because the lady at the window was nice
I used to love coming here. The coffee is great. But... This past Sunday I went and I was excited to bring my friend because shes never been. I ordered first and the kid at the front turned around to start on my order as soon as I was done. My friend stood there for about 10 minutes and no one acknowledged her. When my order came out, the kid turned and she was like hey, I want to order too He looked surprised and then took her order. She ordered a frozen coffee (I did too) and he tried to talk her out of it saying it takes longer to make a frozen coffee then an iced coffee,so she she just go with an iced coffee. To which I replied it didnt matter, we had time. Also the burritos we got were pretty watery and the egg wasnt fully cooked. And at one time the burritos were amazing. Honestly the whole encounter was awkward and frustrating.
I love this coffee. I gave it a try and the taste is so delicious it had me going back again and again. My favorite is the Mocha Coconut Coffee!
The best coffee shop in bernallio and rio rancho. The service here is quick and I have never had any issues or complaints the 5-8 times I have been here. The blended chai or blended hot chocolate are my favorites. The iced coffee never tastes watered down. The burritos are quite good as well. If you like coffee and being treated as a human, stop here.
My go to spot whenever I hit I-25 heading out on a road trip or just out and about for the day. FANTASTIC coffee and the staff is some of the friendliest folks in town. Hit them up!
The baristas are fast, your coffee will be ready very quickly... However, part of that is the assymbly line method utilized for coffee and food prep - it is efficient, yet inevitably reduces the freshness, if only slightly. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant, but the location is difficult to get to, and the layout is not the best. The food and coffee are, however, quite appealing and very good. The staff are pleasant and friendly, and the prices are very fair.Overall, worth the struggle of escaping the traffic in order to visit.
This place is awesome. Friendly atmosphere and great service. The coffee is amazing and breakfast burritos are killer.
How do they do their hiring? How do they end up with only the friendliest people? So kind! We’ve been here literally twice, but we feel like regulars. The burritos are yum--better than Twisters.
Coffee was fantastic! Food was awesome and service was even better! Been going for years and always happy with the experience! Thanks guys!
Always friendly service and excellent food selection! Breakfast burritos are an excellent choice as well as any of their coffee drinks for a quick breakfast.
Great coffee. Lots of choices. And lots of sugar free syrup choices too
Coffee was great! hot and tasted like true Kona. The burritos were a big disappointment. Tasted like powdered eggs, were cold in the middle. Almost in edible.
What a great place!!! Great coffee and food. Staff was very kind and very friendly. We will be back in and look forward to the next time. I wish there was one in ABQ closer to me. Thanks
Great coffee and super filling breakfast burritos. My husband and I split one chicken breakfast burrito and had some left over- the sauce is ono! I like that they dont stuff it full of potatoes like so many other breakfast burritos. Im not a fan of super sweet coffee, but had to try one of their flavored creations. The barrista recommended half sweet and it was perfect.
Great coffee. Drive thru menu is a little hard to process and take it because of their great selections.
I have never loved a place more. The burritos are to die for. The coffee is delicious and the staff make it an awesome experience every time Im there
The iced coffee cubes are frozen coffee, not water! No watering down great coffee. Solid burritos. Never been disappointed.
$29 for two eye opener coffers and two snorkeled breakfast burritos. Good coffee and food, the price was a bit much. The coffees were $7 each and $8 each for the smothered burritos. I just didnt expect to pay so much.
Delicious coffee, delicious food and excellent service! There was no vegan items on the menu for me, but Sean didn’t shy away! He made sure to make me a delicious breakfast burrito! Definitely recommend they add it to the menu!
Great coffee!! Wish construction was in another location.
Everything about this place is awesome except the ease of access. Great prices. Good coffee. Friendly patient staff.
Got a breakfast burrito, which was a lot of food and so yummy. Coffee is amazing, too. And such friendly staff. Stop there every time we come through town.
First time. Coffee great, service friendly. Surprised they have simple menu for burritos and bagel sandwiches and lunch. The pastries look good. We had cinnamon roll. Will some back when in town! It is a drive from Aztec!
Great coffee, great burritos and the young lady at the counter was super!
First time coming through the drive through was greeted and ordered a breakfast burrito, girl at the intercom gave me a loud sigh then “anything else?” she obviously sounded annoyed by my order, pulled up to pay and Seth was super chill with a good attitude. Burrito was a bit bland but ingredients were fresh. Might come back for a drink in the future but first experience was off putting.
I like supporting local coffee if i can and this one is pretty good. The island decor is fun and the staff were fast and friendly. I had an earl gray latte and it was good but not great. Ive had their coffee on several occasions and its worth the price. I just wish they were in more locations so i could get better acquainted.
Extremely warm, unpretentious coffee spot. Super friendly staff started my trip to the Jemez off on a great note!
The coffee was ok I just ordered the regular blend. I was shocked to see the price of the premium blend but I guess thats expected. I also ordered a sausage burrito which was filling and average pricing. Ive never had a burrito drenched in melted butter and tasted greasy. It made the burrito itself fall apart and it was very messy eating. The bread itself stuck to the wrapping that was also drenched in butter. What was the purpose of doing this and gave the burrito a greasy taste. The contents needs to be cooked longer especially the potatoes and sausage. There was very little chili in the burrito. The owners need to check out the cooking. Sorry guys but thats what I was served. Needs improvement.
I always drove past the coffee shop and gave reasons never to try it out. However, one day I had the chance to check it out. This experience was really positive. First off, when you walk in, I feel like you almost get whiff of the beach and the relaxation of it as well. However, there was smoke or maybe mist in the atmosphere that made the entire place hazy a little. It didnt scare me away. However, the coffee was freaking good! Moreover, the food they had on the menu looked purty great as well. Definitely coming back and I recommend you check it out. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES
Incredible coffee and excellent breakfast burritos.
Extremely dirty. The coffee was fine....I felt gross being in an establishment that dirty where food was served. Restrooms grubby food bits literally everywhere and as though the 3+employees that worked there couldnt manage wiping a counter (it wasnt busy).Kind staff, nice setting...Id like to say Id go back but they need some serious routine cleanup.
Top notch customer service!! The guy who works there is a joy to chat with!
Get the BLT and a Nutty Irishman. Good family business with great care taken to make sure everything is good.
Best coffee. Best breakfast burritos. Great service!
The Kona coffee is bonkers. I look for reasons to drive up 550 just to have an excuse to go in and get one. Better than any coffee in Albuquerque. They make a great breakfast burrito too, so come hungry.
Whan I got my first take out cup, I scratched the pineapple sticker (the one covering the sipping orifice), expecting it to smell pineapples. Scratch n sniff pineapple sticker would be a great gimmick. Lol
Darn good coffee. 5 stars for coffee ice cubes in their cold drinks, and quality espresso.
Had Carmel latte and turkey club. Both were excellent. I had never been inside, only drive thru. Atmosphere was nicely decorated and also had a couch and chairs near a TV, which I thought was a great idea for a coffee spot. Friendly service.
Yummy coffee and I love the decor.
Awesome breakfast burritos!!!Coffee is great as well.
Such a fun place. Makes you feel like youre on the island. Great coffee and loose leaf tea
Good coffee with a wide range of lattes with some delicious, and unusual flavor profiles. Many of their lattes are available sugar free as well, a plus for diabetics or people watching their sugar intake.Staff is very friendly and helpful. Nice interior with hawaian coffee theme. Menu selection includes breakfast and lunch selections made on the premises. I have been going here on and off for about 6 years and it has been consistently good coffee and service.
Had a business meeting there, not usually my neighborhood. The folks were nice and didnt mind us sitting drinking coffee for an hour. Good change from the typical Starbucks, cookie cutter chain.
Aloha. Always great food and Iced eye opener coffee. My favorites all in one place.
This is the best coffee Ive ever had. The Hawaiians really know their stuff !
Phenomenal coffee, great food. The staff are super friendly, nice change of pace with the Hawaiian vibe. Definitely going to check out the second location in downtown ABQ too!
Only slightly better coffee than the gas station next door. Untrained staff. Theyre push their featured drinks - all very sweet. If you want a decent coffee/espresso/latte, Starbucks up the road is (unfortunately) much better.
Good coffee. They definitely need to clean this place! Loved all the shirts they had. Traveled to check it out. I will give it another try, coffee and breakfast burrito was very good!
Thoroughly enjoyed the coffee. The staff was super friendly and personable. They have super cute Ts for sale too. My teenage daughter loved it too and had to have one of the Ts.
Love this place I would definitely recommend this place over Starbucks. They have amazing teas, chai, and of course coffee. Along with good breakfast burritos and sandwiches they also have amazing home baked goods and lastly another reason I love this place is because of their name.
Where do I begin...hot coffee was cold. Had to practically beg for cream for the coffee. 45 minutes before closing they began mopping the floors, right in front of us. Very rude. Went to the bathroom and the wet cement floor was dangerously slippery. Employees were totally unaware, customer service was laughable. This was a one and done. Will never go back.
New store, just checking out store
Very weak coffee. Had a four shot americano. Very nice hot water. Dry stale pastries. Never coming back.
Chai was really done well. The Green chili Frito Pie was unique and full of flavor. BLT was huge. The Americano coffee had robust flavor. Staff is quick, efficient and super friendly. Will stop again when checking on my land listings up north!
Delicious coffee and amazing staff!
The coffee always tastes fresh and so good. If I dont know what to get the staff will give me new recommendations. I tried a breakfast burrito today and Im ruined. I will never want a burrito from anywhere else.Every time I come here Im never disappointed. The staff is always so kind and so sweet!
Coffee is good not great. My son ordered a chocolate muffin and they forgot to warm it and when we went to ask for it they said I didn’t pay for it. Was not impressed with there attitude. then when they gave him his muffin they realized they were looking at the wrong order.
Great shop, great coffee, great burritos. We go here often before or between soccer games. The owner is friendly and everyone wants to make your experience better!
I really like the interior. Kind of a Hawaiian feel. The seating is plentiful and comfortable. Great selection of beverages. If Im going to sit inside somewhere and lounge, or study, I come here and not Starbucks.
Coffee was great. We had almond with coconut cold coffe. It was so good and I drank it so fast I got cold head ache 3 times in a row. The people behind the counter were so super nice and helpful.
Absolutely the best coffee ever! If you love coffee, you have to go here!
Only been once so far. The place needs a thorough cleaning! Dust everywhere if you just look up or at any decorative piece. The vegetarian breakfast burrito was very good. The Oregon Chai latte was missing any actual chai flavor. Maybe time to use a different chai or add more?
Everythings delicious!!!
There coffee was great. Will definitely go back!
Love the coffee here...breakfast burritos were very good...definitely will come back for more
Fantastic coffee, relaxing atmosphere. The big surprise though is how great, but simple, the food is. Highly recommended.
Their bad ass mocha iced coffee is in fact, bad ass! I get it made with almond milk. Iced coffees sold elsewhere get diluted as the ice melts but, at Bad Ads, they use ice made of coffee so you dont have that happen! Their breakfast burritos are Great! Try them smothered in green chili for a real morning eye opener!
Great lattes and chai. Breakfast burritos and scones were great excellent! Friendly service. Recommended!
A must-do for visitors to the Bernalillo area. The coffee is good, the atmosphere is one of a kind (where else would you find Hawaiian themed coffee in a high desert), and theres a delicious food selection. Free bathrooms are available. Incredibly friendly staff.
This place was absolutely amazing. Even though all the baristas were young they had outstanding customer service. This is the most amazing coffee I have ever tried and their breakfast burritos were scrumptious. You must try this place!!!!!
As Ive written before, were from Hawaii, and we love coming here- if even for the music. Its not particularly local, but its fun, the coffee is great, and the music remind us of home... So, its local enough!
Ive been coming to this place for a year now and not once have I been disappointed until today. I had surgery today and my boyfriend forgot to order my coffee with soy milk as Im lactose intolerant. We fixed it at the window to only be charged for the wrong drink and then the fixed drink with soy milk. I dont understand why you would charge for a whole other drink and not refund us the first. Customer service lowers my rating for this place. Love the coffee though.
Must have coffee. We always enjoy their breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and pastries when we have our Bad Ass Coffee. Youre definitely missing out if you have tried this place.
Good coffee in Bernalillo. Better than the big chains, but a little pricey. nice ambiance.
Best coffee n nice place to sit down n talk to friends.
Great coffee and good food. Always good service and prices
Need a special 10 star rating for places that are in a class of their own. Staff and product is out of this world awesome. Wish they were in OKC.
(Downtown location)My one star is not rated towards the coffee, its more directed at terrible!! customer service. I recently found this place and have been spending alot of time and money there.Keep in mind its really! out of my wayWe purchased some k cups and found them to be very weak tasting for $13 dollars. I tried to return them for a credit or two coffees and the owner was not having it.This is called customer service???In the end he lost two customers over $13 bucks plus I gave him his k cups back.RIP 🍵
Cool spot, fantastic coffee and the staff is super friendly!
They live up to their name! Incredibly friendly staff, great Hawaiian coffee, gigantic green chile smothered breakfast burritos.. you cant go wrong with this place!
We always come here for our blended coffees, we love trying all the different varieties they have. Their breakfast burritos are da bomb!!! Their customer service is absolute outstanding, the ask and guarantee that you enjoy what you order. Great people to see and be tended by everytime we go.
Best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had! And the Jitter Juice was fantastic.
Superb coffee and service, clean and very friendly owners husband and wife greeted us and took care of our orders. Lots of tea options as well. You MUST try the scones.... trust me.....
