Had an amazing experience doing business with James and Williams. Their customer service is top notch. Ronald is a true professional, really knows his products and how to care for his customer. For example, I had a difficult time deciding between two timepieces. I kept taking the two watches on and off, switching back and forth, trying to decide which one I wanted to take home with me. Unlike other salesmen who try to trap you into a sale, Ron allowed me to take as much time as I wanted and did not force me into making a decision. He even suggested grabbing lunch in order to think it over. When I made my decision, he fitted the watch to my exact needs. In addition to their outstanding customer service, they have a vast inventory, with some rare timepieces that are difficult to come by. My wife and I have been shopping at James & Williams Jewelers for over 25 years and we feel very comfortable shopping here. You feel very secure shopping here, first from the gated parking lot, and then the electronically controlled door, and finally a guard on the inside, which is always friendly to chat with. The store is always decorated nice and well lit. But then you meet the staff, and they are all wonderful. Today Christine wrote up our order for us and she was most helpful as always. Shopping here you never get the feeling youre dealing with strangers. They are more like family, and in short time you get to know every one by name, which makes a very cozy atmosphere to shop in. This is the only place to shop for fine jewelry and the service cannot be beat. No one should ever leave disappointed when shopping here.

He also managed to take an outdated diamond that had been passed down from generations and turned it into a beautiful, timeless necklace. My only surprise was when looking at their website after the visit, they quote a lower price online than over the phone/in-person for the service provided. Took your advice to check back on the James & Williams Jewelers website to confirm the fee of $15.00 that I saw on the site post-visit to the store (had a nice visit, wanted to learn more about the store so looked at the website). After that, I became an exclusive customer to this business and only purchase jewelry from other vendors if this one does not have or cannot acquire it. All sales people are outstanding. I needed a diamond pendant repaired and wouldn’t trust any other jeweler with my diamonds. While I was there I had the owner Bill examine my diamond rings. I live in Kendall County and made the trip all the way to Berwyn. I have been a customer for over 50 years and consider them to be honest, reliable and absolutely fair. I was sent an image from a J&W Facebook post they had about a weekend only sale for the perfect engagement ring. I was unable to see it during the days of the sale, but they said they would hold the deal for a few extra days allowing me the opportunity to jump on it. When I got there I could not have been given a warmer welcoming. The ring was even better in person & I knew the second I looked at at it that it was the one! They allowed me to do monthly installments with no interest, too, which made the purchase even more doable. I could not be happier with the ring & the service provided by James & Williams Jewelers!

My family has been using James & Williams for most of my life, I’m the youngest at age 70. Their work and product is exceptional and I have lived in Seattle, WA for the past 19 years but still save my repairs & buying needs for when I visit family in the Chicago area. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of my most recent visit when I left 3 pieces for repair with instructions that my brother, who lives in the Chicago area, would pick the items up for safe keeping till I return to Chicago again. Upon receiving a call from the store I sent my brother on the errand only to find out that the employee that called me never told me that only one item was done. Therefore my brother made the trip into Berwyn only to find out that he needs to come back again within only a few days. When U run a business it’s the details, like wasting a customers time, that matters. This incident will not stop me from shopping there but I now know that like most companies in this impersonal customer service world that we have become, I need to check ALL details myself, even at this my favorite jewelry store.

I’m giving this 5 stars but I’m disappointed in my last experience. I brought 2 rings in to be repaired and sized. The gentleman who helped me measured the ring I was wearing, which was a wide band, at a 6/1/2. The rings I was bringing in, one was a very narrow band and the other slightly wider. He insisted I get the rings repaired at a size 6, but then agreed to a 6-1/4 when I voiced my objections. I felt the slightly wider one should be the same as my current ring, 6-1/2. Both he and the woman there kept saying it would be too loose. Well, I should have stuck with my initial thoughts and the wider one should, in fact, have been a 6-1/2. That one feels slightly snug. It’s wearable, but it would have been better slightly looser. I’m sure in the summer when it’s hot, I won’t be able to wear it at all. The repair work they did on both of them was excellent. We come from 20 miles away to go to James and Williams. We grew up in Berwyn, our wedding rings were purchased there, my parents purchased jewelry there, and I feel I can trust them with my jewelry. However this time was disappointing. Would I use them again, probably. Would I recommend them, yes.

I have had the privilege of dealing with RON and the lovely staff at the store. I needed a repair on my engagement ring and friends gave the recommendation of James and Williams. I figured my friends wouldn’t steer me wrong and took the ring in. From the moment I walked in the door I was impressed. I was greeted warmly by everyone and my ring was looked at promptly and thoroughly. I picked it up a week later and I couldn’t believe what I was staring at. A fabulous repair that is perfectly polished and clean (9 years of wear and tear was erased!). I cannot stop staring at it.

My husband and I made our first of many visits to James & Williams Jewelers on Thursday, August 1, 2019. I was delighted by the atmosphere of the store and their beautiful displays.
