I’ve been here before. The staff weren’t super knowledgeable. Today, I made the 30min round trip only to find the door locked. It’s 4:30pm, and the store says they close at 5:00pm. I called less than an hour ago to verify they had what I was looking for. This is so frustrating. I will never come here again.

Love this place..live bait ! And helpful staff .super old school and my kinda people...if you like to fish check them out. There bait gets the big ones!

Love going in the bait shop to get all my live bait and glad that the Legendary Bait Shop is back open lot of memories in that store when Larry was the owner so it feels good every time I walk back in there

I hate to be the one to bring the bad news, but Mr Larry has passed away and Im not sure his daughter is going to re open the store. What a great pair they were. Friendly to everyone who walked in the door and he was the best reel mechanic anywhere. Truly a landmark to the Bessemer area and a legend in the fishing community. From the sportsmen and women, our heart felt condolences and thanks for all the wonderful memories and service.

Does anyone out there remember Mr. Marion Betts and his wife?? I was the nurse in St. Petersburg, Fl who took care of them. I have never met finer people in my life and miss them to this day. Maureen Wood

The best and friendly place to buy live bait from crickets to minnows and more,, and reel repair cant be beat parts for reels no the spot most of the time,,Mr Larry is very knowledgeable when it comes to many types of reels been doing business with him for over 30 years.
