Seems larger than most, didnt make it to the other side of the store. Clerk was nice. Was a large group of us checking out, they didnt hesitate to quickly open another register. In and out, everything was easy to fine. Will be returning.

The story of Dollar General in the last three years is out-of-stocks. You just cant go there with a shopping list like you would at Target.... I was just there with a 7 item list, all things Dollar General carries and Ive purchased before.FIVE of the 7 were out-of-stock. I decided not to purchase anything, because there were 6 people in line and only ONE cashier, and since I was going to have to go elsewhere anyhow, why wait in line for 20 minutes for just 2 things?This is the third time this year I was forced to turn around and leave empty-handed.Womp-woooooooomp, Dollar General.

Supposedly they had a person with covid and wasnt opening till 1030am, then 1130.The employee with an aditude with other customers saying 1130 to open. Bad professionalism.

Have not gone to Dollar General in 8 months and while the stock remains pretty standard, I have to say the staff there is awesome! Friendly, seemed like someone always right around the corner to help. It was a nice experience.

Fast, friendly, and a little comical today but I brought the comedy with me.

This store is so much better than Wood River. There is never an overflow of boxes to put on shelves. The people are friendly and helpful.

Its always clean and stocked unlike some other dollar general stores and the cashiers are always nice. The only thing Id say they could work on is that it seems like when they are the busiest and have long lines none of the other employees open their registers so theres usually only one lane open, and also there is barely any counter space.

The Dollar General in Bethalto needs to clear out all the shelving buy checkout counter so people know where the line starts for checkout. More than one indavidaul was Confused while I was in line to checkout.

Massive dollar general. Kinda overflowing but had everything we needed.

This is an older Dollar General. It isnt the cleanest store Ive been in but it isnt the dirtiest either. There is plenty of variety of cheap goods including groceries, household items, clothing and miscellaneous cheaply made products. If you want to treat your child to toys or stuffed animals made it questionable materials then this is the place for you. The one item that seems to hit decent prices on special sales is soda pop. If you are in the mood for some fizzy liquid sugar then head on down to Dollar General. If youre in the market for toothpaste or deodorant and want to purchase some Mac and cheese along with some kitty litter then you are in luck. This time of year there is no better place than Dollar General to fill up your pickup truck with pounds and of Halloween candy. Have the urge to purchase forty pounds of peanut butter cups or ten thousand dum dum suckers then hop in the family cruiser and head their way. You will not be disappointed. And lastly, if you want your store clerk to smell of cigarettes and hairspray then you definitely need to visit this small town diamond in the rough. So many options abound that there is no way you leave disappointed or unsatisfied. They have all your needs, wants and desires covered at your friendly hometown Dollar General. Happy shopping!

Always very nice. Handy for food purchases without having to go thru a giant super market. Only problem when at register sale prices are not always in register.and you are over charged.

This store continues to be worse than any dollar general I visit. I give it 2 stars for consistency.

Usually very long lines with 1 cashier. Its usually a long hot wait. Until the line gets the length of half the store then sometimes a manager emerges to check a few out.When A little boy threw up in the isle and I thought it was odd his mother was handed a bottle of cleaner and paper towels to go clean it up herself. I know when people have accidents in my store Ive never had the customer clean it especially one with a sick kid but whatever.

Store was very busy and girls behind the counter were doing their best to get people out the door. They took time to direct me to the product I was looking for.

It use to be clean and organized .But in the last 6 months its been a so different dirty cluttered and not organized at all ... Personally Im done giving it another second chance !!!

I love DG but they recently stopped carrying some of the items I get regularly.

Tight isles not bad pricing off brand prouducts. Somethings can .be a little cheesy.

Some great prices and convenient location, but: No restroom, somethings are lower priced but a worse value (mush less product, inferior product, etc), checkout lines can be almost as bad as hell-mart but not too often, and they love to put things on clearance but resist or refuse to give you the posted price (a federal crime, btw)
