Amazing desserts and coffees. Very pleasant service. I come here often!
Terrible customer service and border line dishonest. I ordered a Quiche Lorraine. It was microwaved and hence soggy. I returned it and was not offered another product or refund much less an apology. I was finally given a scone when I approached the cashier who told me “we don’t refund, all sales are final”. BAD concept!!
Pretty nice place. The people are nice and the pastries are delicious. A bit smaller than I am used to, but with fun jelly centers of flavor. Also, they have a few different passion fruit flavors that I am a huge fan of! Their baguette was also very tasty.
Sweet discovery! Weve been watching those fancy dessert-making shows on Netflix, and we felt so thrilled to find an actual pâtisserie in the next town over that seemed so promising. We dropped by to check it out. The shop was easy to find, although parking right in front of it may be a bit challenging. The shop was big enough to have a few sit-down tables. It was airy, bright, and clean. The selection, displayed so neatly, did not disappoint us visually...everything looked so decadent and mouth-watering. Once weve tasted our orders, we knew that weve hit the jackpot! Weve found a perfectly sweet spot that we wouldnt mind going back to... The flavors that sounded so rich and fancy proved to be so. It was money well-spent. We actually ordered several more to-go!
This place is simply amazing I order through doordash often and the food is consistently good and its soo not pricy for the quality. the packaging is cute and for the second time today they gave me a little macaron gift which made me smile so hard ...Im definitely satisfied my favorites are the bread pudding cup and avocado toast with pickled onions even their hot chocolate are great ahh😍😍😍 the only suggestion Id have is to switch the staples to stickers so no one gets cut while trying to open the bag
Quality, skilled baking here. We mostly order custom cakes and special orders from them -- the quality is excellent and pastries and cakes both delicious and attractive. If we were to choose one, the pastries would be on the better side. That said, we think the custom orders are better than the mass produced regular menu items.
I had previously ordered from them with great results. This time I placed an order through grub hub 3 days in advance for a Mothers Day delivery. They cancelled the order saying simply we are unable to fulfill this order literally 30 minutes before it was scheduled to be delivered. Completely unacceptable, take your business elsewhere. Grubhub should remove them from their service
Coffee is good and almond croissant is perfect!
While the actual employees are great, the managers of Tout de Sweet abuse their staff and I was laid off after 20+ hours of work without pay. I would not give this establishment service, and would encourage anyone considering to check out the Fresh Baguette in Bethesda (a few minutes away and with a similar vibe- and better food). The management in general is just terrible, and it truly is a shame how much they take advantage of their employees. If you care about the ethics of a business, I would strongly advise checking out the dozens of better places all around Bethesda. Its worth your time.
Come here for the macarons and madeleines.
Delightful. I have been in Bethesda in a hotel for a long period for work. Breakfast has been a challenge. No more. Stopped here for desserts for colleagues a couple weeks ago. Came back for breakfast. Bit pricy but great coffee, perfect fruit and and an amazing pastry in a zen little spot w cheerful counter service.
Probably my favorite French bakery cafe in the DMV. Great croissants, including almond croissants, plus delightful treats such as cakes, macarons, etc. Looking forward to returning soon.
Simply the best! Always go here every weekend. Wish they stayed open after 4pm though.
They are very professional! The chef made the personalized cake just the way I wanted it and expected it to be and it tasted amazing.
Cute cafe, very European. Fantastic pastries. Unfortunately there is construction right outside so the outdoor seating isn’t peaceful. Inside is adorable.
This is a very European pastry shop. I really like the rose water macaron and the croissants. I’ve done croissants and macaron tours in Paris and this place tastes very authentic.
Croissants and other viennoiseries that taste like they should? Check. Delicate and sophisticated cake miniatures (also available full size)? Check. Real French cook for a true French taste.
WARNING: DO NOT ORDER BIRTHDAY CAKEThe cake was apparently too loose because it was not properly refregirated. After cautious and safety-15 minutes drive, my kids birthday cake was totally damaged. The chef refused to make another one, because he had finished todays job. He said he tried to fix, so I had brought that cake but he could not fix that. Very disappointing and should not happen to anyone else. Just avoid ordering a cake for an important day.
Delicious!! Excellent customer service, very helpful with our children’s birthday parties - such a big hit!
The sweets and drinks are delicious, but oh boy the service is unbelievably bad. I keep going back because of the quality of the products, but I am seriously considering of stopping, it is so frustrating especially because it is not that cheap. Every single time I have been here or ordered take out there was a mistake - you order decaf and they use normal coffee, you order two croissant and they bring one, you order salmon no tomato and they bring tomato and no salmon, endless list! Such a shame..
Macarons are life changing. To DIE for.
Quality Macarons, Great Mousses and Desserts - also very clean and with simple modern decor; however, I cannot overlook the horrible customer service here. Ive had not one but 3 bad experiences and Ive been coming here for almost two years since I really do love their products. Its too bad really.
Love this place! food is fantastic! service is great I really enjoyed my morning there!! Definitely coming back for more goodies!
Pastries are good, however, the customer service has been terrible. Ive been a customer since 2017 and Ive always loved this place. But after my recent purchase with Tout De Sweet, I am no longer a customer. Employees have no manners, super rude, and they sound like they just woke up; they kept getting my order wrong. Never coming back again.
I had a guest who brought a selection of many cakes and they were all amazing!!!!! I have never had cakes that tasted so good here in the US. Ive had pastries in Paris and other cities all around Europe and this place compares to those famous patisseries. I will absolutely make the trip there and visit myself.
Most amazing place! The complexity of flavor was devine. I especially loved the chocolate fruit dishes!
I dont think I have ever given a review perfect marks on all counts before, but this shop deserves it. The service is extraordinary (on all accounts - friendly, fast, attentive, etc.), the food is exquisite, the South American coffee (I think Colombian?) is LITERALLY one of the best I have ever had, and yet quite inexpensive (a large cup for slightly over $2, with more expensive mochas and such
Delicious almond croissant and coffee, but took almost 20 minutes to get our coffee. Others were waiting and frustrated too. At one point the barista stopped to chat with her coworker for a bit while we were all waiting. Another customer left without his coffee. Bethesda Chocolates is much friendlier and has prompt service.
I thought I didnt like pastries, then I ate here. MIND BLOWN! Amazing. And the mini cakes are incredible. I get birthday cakes here every time now. And they have great coffee! And the best macarons.
I ordered a cake from here for a birthday and I could not have picked a better place. I have been getting macaroons from here for months now (including bringing to many get together functions) and have always been in awe and needed an opportunity to buy a cake. For a friends birthday I got her a cake and it was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend it and the other 12 people that enjoyed the cake as well wanted me to express how amazing this cake was. It was a Red velvet cake with butter cream icing. I even asked them to write on the cake and put a mickey mouse face which was perfectly done. I am glad the cake was not finished b/c now i can continue to enjoy it.As far as everything else is concerned, their coffee drinks are amazing and the service from all their staff is very personalized.A must try for all!!!
HORRIBLE service. The staff is not knowledgeable about the pastry they are selling, they are rude and have an attitude. Dont go there. Even for the pastry! They seem to have preferred customers. If you are first-timers, you may be left waiting forever because they just pick who they want to serve. Very unwelcoming store. If you want your birthday mood ruined, that is the place.
Absolutely loved their bakery items! Their maple cardamon latte too sweet.
Slowest and worst customer service aa humanly possible
Not sure whats going on there but in the last few months the customer service has gotten horrible from the owners as well as from the other staff. Ive been in many times and the owners nor the staff are very welcoming. Its seems its all business. Come give us your money and GO! Their polite but not warm and welcoming; almost phony. Also, the sizes for their small cakes, macaroon ice cream sandwiches, macaroons and crossiants have gotten much smaller but the prices havent gone down. Went in today and I think it will be my last. Its evident they are trying to get over on their customers and thats NOT okay. If your making smaller items to sell then reduce the price for your items. They are becoming way to hit or miss. Looks great but taste and quality arent consistent. I visit this place at least once a week. Used to be my favorite Bakery here in Bethesda.
Wonderful pastry and cakes. Best in DC! The only complaint is they always run out of scones (which are fabulous). The staff are friendly and helpful.
The pastries were a little on the pricy side but totally worth it! Great mixture of flavors
Very poor customer service, we went into the store looking for a cake for my sisters Birthday tomorrow, rudely this woman said it was not possible after another employee had already told us it would be alright, and that she would see if we could pick up one of the spare cakes tomorrow. She told us she would check with the kitchen and then as she walked away sputtered What is with these Caucasian people?
Love their macarons & various sweets!
Very pleased with the service and the food! I got an order of party favors for my daughters fifteenth birthday (Quinceanera), and they were perfect! Many thanks....
One of the top bakery/dessert places in town. Very delicate work and well-balanced tastes. Best for shopping a box of different small cake and share with friends.
Ive stopped in here with coworkers for coffee and a pastry before and both were very good. The coffee was a nice roast and brewed well and the pastries are excellent. If anything I wish they had more product, pastries, than they do.
Its impossible to get something non-fantastic here. Everything is very genuinely French. The scope of what they make is well beyond the average bakery- they come up will all sorts of fancy baked concoctions. I believe they are currently expanding, which is great news. I never understood why they arent open on Mondays, hopefully theyll change that soon
A lovely little pastry shop with tiny cakes and coffee. What I like most is that its always nice and quiet.
I recommended if you want to feel like you are in French and taste a delicious pastry made by the owner chef Giroun
1. Service - Friendly.2. Taste of food and quality of food - Good place for macaroons in MD. Placed cake for wedding which arrived on time & satisfied with decoration.3. Ambiance/decor - Cozy with modern decor.4. Cleanliness - Looked & felt clean throughout.
Awful service and overpriced items!!!! I dont know how they have more than one star.
Decided to try again. Service was horrible. I told them we would.like to eat here and they told me they were closing in 30 minutes. They wanted us gone. I asked for an extra plate and they said they had no clean plates. They were trying to clean despite 7 customer in place. Clearly in a hurry to close.Removed a star. Same food options coupled with rude service.2 years agoVery fancy but not very approachable. My kids dont like the options.
Just brilliant. A piece of Europe where would be really missing. Their coffee is just as superb as their pastry and cakes. Do not miss.
Stumbled across this place the other day and picked up a cupcake on a whim that turned out to be one of the best Ive had. Definitely worth a visit and the outdoor seating is bliss on a 70F and sunny day downtown.
The service is so awful. Not sure if the girls at the front don’t know how to do their jobs or are just incredibly lazy. I was so excited to come here and left extremely disappointed. Don’t bother coming, and you’ll be glad you took your business elsewhere.
The desserts in this shop are so beautiful, I wanted to buy all of them. Im glad my friend was late because I had a cake and a coffee while waiting for her.
Macaroons red velvet cake all of these fad foods for high prices that pop up well this is one of the good ones. Larger variety than single serving stores this is a great place that I cant hate. Tres magnific
Really nice coffee and pastry shop. They serve typical French sweets (as the name suggests), such as macarons, pain auch chocolat or well known cakes (opera, etc.). The sweets are of high quality and taste very well. Coffee is well prepared and the espresso tastes like it should.A good place for a coffee and a cake!
So creamy and delicious. Havent had such fine French cakes in a long time.
Cozy pastry shop. They look so good. Decent coffee
When the selections at Dunkin’, Peet’s and Starbucks don’t interest you, let this unique local tempt you. A ton of different flavored, locally produced macaroons and fantastic coffee all in unique, friendly surroundings should do the trick.
Avoid the macaroons, unless you want a life long addiction. How can such a cute store produce something so evil.
Best coffee and pastry shop in Bethesda! And amazing customer service!
Yummy almond croissants! I just love them.
Very cute sweets shop. I tired the grand Marnier and orange cream macaroons and they were a delight
Best macarons ever. Better than Luduree. The macarons are freshly made everyday and you can tell by the chewiness. Lots of great flavors, including seasonal ones like pumpkin or peach or lavender, but also has all the staple flavors like pistachio, chocolate, cassis etc.All their mini cakes and large cakes are amazing too. Feels like ordering dessert at a 3 star Michelin restaurant. They also have really good bouche de noel for pre-orders during the holidays. In the summer, pick up a vietnamese ice coffee. So decadent and yummy.
Best pastry in the DC area. Macarons are sublime. I particularly recommend the cassis and orange ones.
The macarons were good but way too small and over priced! No sample; even if its your first time. I found Looka macarons at my local grocery store and after thawing a few hours, tasted just the same or better. The best part about them, they were only $6.00 for a box of 12. Ill be fair, 1 star for freshness, 1 star for taste, lack of 3 stars for pricey, small, and no sample allowed.
Food was pricey. Asked the owner to turn down the music so that we could have a discussion and she refused. Said thats the way they play it. Too many nice places around Bethesda to frequent a place with such poor customer service.
This is a gem of a coffee place, it is a little of France in Bethesda, if you have been in Paris and have had croissant there you will feel the same at Tout de Sweet!
Most authentic Parisian pattiserie Ive been too so far in the DMV
Had an almond croissant that was very good and a coffee that was mediocre. Not a very comfortable place to sit for an extended period of time.
Cake is okay, too pricy for the quality. poor to-go package, no wifi
Really and tasty french Pastries!
Fantastic! Best croissants, pain au chocolat everything is good!
My happy place! Whenever Im in the mood for macarons, I come here! The macarons are a delight and best in MoCo! Theyre just as awesome as those fancy places in DC! Always fresh, soft, and chewy! My favorites are the rose water, pistachio, and salted caramel. They have pastry items like croissants, cupcakes, and mini cakes. Ive tried their Opera Cake and Praline Lavender Mousse. Taste so heavenly! The cakes were moist and fluffy. Not overly sweet and you dont feel guilty after eating one. They also serve coffee. They have cute boxes if you want to gift the macarons. Its a cute, chic little place with limited seating. Its away from Bethesda Row so its not super packed. Metered street parking. I usually dont have any issues finding parking on a weekend afternoon.
My favorite bakery in Bethesda. The almond chocolate croissant is awesome.
Perfect macarons! Coconut was my favorite
Laduree is the go-to pastry shop for macarons in Paris. Well, the macarons at Tout de Sweet are every bit as good. I am a complete Francophile and whenever I am in Bethesda, I head for Tout de Sweet. The pastries are authentic and delicious and I feel like I am back at my local patisserie in Paris. I am especially addicted to their almond croissants and for a really decadent treat, the chocolate-almond croissant.
Really great pastries and macaroons
Excellent.
Very good food and services.
Its easy to miss this place--I wish you could see their beautiful pastries from the window to draw more traffic in, because they deserve it. The coffee here is very well-made, and its only a skip away from the Starbucks. My latte was so smooth and mellow that it did not even require sweetner. I dont consider myself a macaroon fan, but they were so cute that I had to try a couple: cassis (black current) and salted caramel. Salted caramel was wonderful--slight tang from the salt, and the flavor of the almond paste coming through nutty with the caramel. Bliss. The cassis was dull. Very little fruit flavor, definitely none of that lingering forest flavor that makes cassis so wonderful and unique as a fruit. Mostly tasted of butter. I will gladly try other flavors however. I suspect that rosewater and pistachio would both be lovely with the almond batter. They also have variety of other traditional French pastries that will ruin my diet in the future.Edit 7/27/2012: Ive now had the chance to try quite a bit from this place, and I must say, I am still impressed. The coffee is excellent about 90% of the time. The other 10% it can be slightly over-roasted. Ive tried numerous macarons, since I am now converted to a fan, and my favorites are salted caramel and passionfruit. Ive had the occasional misstep here, too--the lighter flavors can be done so softly that the flavor simply disappears into the butter and almond. Similarly, the pastries shine in chocolate and caramel, but the peach one I had was only so-so. I love the chocolate crunchy cake! Hazelnut and pralines and chocolate mousse, oh my! Also, the cupcakes are about a zillion times better than what Ive been getting around here--the buttercream is Euro style (lighter, less sweet, not gritty) and the proportion is correct to the cake, which is also fabulous. Also, they very recently started making Pate de Fruits! Heck yeah! The cassis is amazing, but the apple flavor is booooring. I wish they would make apricot or red fruit instead. Are you listening, TDS? ;)
Great European bakery. .They dont attempt to sell by pestering! (Tout)
Hands down, the best pasty shop within 100 miles!
The iced vanilla latte was delicious however be careful when buying macaroons. The price for buying a box of 5 is more expensive then buying 5 individually.
Great selection of sweets and coffee. Very friendly staff
Great mousse. Best in the area
The pastries and drinks are delicious, but Im really not happy to get home, take the lid off my latte, and see that it is barely over half full before taking any sips.
Best pastry/quality coffee shop in Bethesda.
Everything tastes wonderful, from the coffees through all of the sweets! Quality worth a little extra cost.
Really delicious dessert and good service!
Nice little place to get a dessert.
Good pastries. Skip the coffee.
Coffee and croissant? No problem!
