Awesome variety of spices. Always fresh. A little expensive but totally worth it! Foxpoint is one of my favorites. It’s a combination of spices that includes shallots. Would highly recommend!

All I can say is that once you go Penzeys you never go back!The spices are so fresh and until you try theirs (or grow your own which I do) you won’t really understand how stale and lame the spices are you’ve been purchasing at the grocery - even the organic ones.My favorites are the garlic salt - fox point & Ruth Ann’s.The only negative- I haven’t enjoyed either of their steak seasonings - they both have smoke flavors which I don’t love at all so McCormick steak seasoning will continue to win that war - otherwise I look forward to all things Penzeys!

Severely disappointed in Penzeys. I’ve been recommended here by many friends as I’m a baker. I came in to get a jar of ginger for my mother in law. I came in without a mask because I’m vaccinated and was told to put a mask. I told her I’m vaccinated but she told me I had to wear one or leave. The president and CDC said it was ok to go inside without masks if you are vaccinated. I won’t be coming back and I’ve told my friends about this, I’m not sure they’ll return either.

I Love Penzys Spices for quality and freshness and they always have the cute heart stickers with free gifts...But...I had a very Spicy experience at their Beverly Hills store with an employee named Denise-Hence the low rating. I was the only customer in there yet she was condescending towards me and had smart retorts to my questions. When I objected to her behavior she exclaimed that I HAVE to understand that they are busy...What? Two people working and me-one customer. I even had to go to my car & return with my cell phone to prove that I was on the Penzys email list to qualify for my freebee... Outrageous.

Was driving by and remembered that we were looking for a specific spice and couldnt find at Meijer. Recipe called for Mexican Oregano. Sure enough they had it. Helpful and friendly staff. Lots to pixk from - will remember next time.

Cannot go inside, and was told to order online. When I asked can I order and pay cash at the door I was asked why dont you have a Credit or Debit card? Made me feel really low. I used to love this place. Big box grocery stores and everyone else is open with limited occupancy. Why not let a limited amount of people in who only have cash?

I have shopped here on three occasions and the service here is prompt, friendly and efficient. The spices that I have purchased here are potent and of the best quality as far as Im concerned! I highly recommend their spices!

Couldnt go inside due to the pandemic. But my order was already outside ready for curbside pickup 10 minutes ahead of time. It was perfect. When I waved thru the window as I was leaving a nice associate came to the door and wished me a good day. A very pleasant experience even with the ongoing restrictions.

I love this place .. every spice I get is straight fire 🔥.. my favorite is the taco or the cumin . recently due to covid you cant go in which caught me off guard when I rolled up expecting to go inside.. but a simple phone call I was able to pay over the phone the grab my bag outside ... the strange part is they let in the culligan water guy who does deliveries all over inside but not customers.. whatever its about the spices so get load up its worth it

THE BEST SPICE STORE EVER. They always have good deals running, so its worth it to sign up for their email service. Friendly people with an amazing selection! Their spice mixes are on point and I always come out with more than I really need. They have over five cinnamons from different locals alone! Think that sounds bunk? Go to penzeys and take a sniff! All their spices and mixes have sniff testers so you know what youre getting when you go. The waitstaff are always happy to answer questions and help you find exactly what youre looking for.

This place has the absolute best spices ever. They are well worth the prices! The spices are amazing. They have a huge selection of quality spices. They sell some really unique blends, whole spices, ground spices, in various amounts to suit your needs. The extracts are a really good quality, too. Everything is easy to find and you will find things you didnt even know you wanted/needed. You will never buy spices from the grocery store once you buy them here.

Have to agree with the other 1 star review.You cant go in and experience the store.I asked why they wouldnt let anyone in and received the same keeping us safe nonsense weve been hearing for months. When I said you can walk around a big box and grocery stores every day, all day she became HYSTERICAL! Ultimately hung up on me.The store really sounds great and I would have loved the opportunity to explore it.

Hopefully I will get to go in next time to smell all the spices! I notice a definite difference with Penzey’s spices compared to ones I buy at the store. Much better quality!If you like garlic, get the roasted garlic seasoning! It’s my favorite one.

Best quality spices weve ever used. Love the owners heart and politics!! I take advantage of all their offers for free/reduced prices, but then also always overspend because its so amazing. Definitely get into the store to smell & experience everything after the pandemic.

What a miserable experience. Curbside only, door is locked (Im fine with that). But no phone orders, ordering requires your name, email address, phone no., home address, credit card online and waiting up to 24 hours (do you need my shoe size, too?). All to put a spice bottle in a bag and write your name on it and leave it outside the door alongside over a dozen others. Dont even think about using a cellphone to order because the keyboard covers the info youre filling out so youll need a PC. Employees on the phone sounded hopelessly exasperated, overworked and underpaid and refused to take my order but theres scarcely any work to do. Ill wait until they reopen. I still wonder when theyll call me, text me, email me, mail me junk mail, get hacked . . . This is not on the store, this is corporate gathering personal data and making me miserable in the process. Though I cant explain why it takes forever to fill an order.

Penzeys store in Beverly Hills, MI has awesomely wonderful customer service! Of course, since it is Penzeys, the spices and the prices are great. If they were not, I would not care about the service. This time I placed an order after hours Sunday, and they were able to have it ready for me to pick up Monday morning. I think they are wonderful!

They often offer little free sample spices for spending a certain amount of money. Those freebies have often become my new go to spices.

Drive over an hour thinking they are open to come up to a locked door with a sign not even taking curbside order. Please adjust your hours on Google its easy for the business to alter.

This place has the best spices and herbs. The ground cinnamon is superior to any other cinnamon I have ever had. They have different blends of herbs and spices from all over the world. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the products. I live about an hour away and it is well worth the trip. I go about every 6 months.

Penzeys is great. You can find any spice here and some things I use a lot of (like chives) can be purchased in a bulk bag much more reasonably than in small containers. Being there is a visceral treat with all the shiny glass jars full of culinary magic and good smells.

Person on the phone was very short and apparently annoyed to be taking my order. After dancing around the possibility of me even putting in an order I was promptly told we dont have that about my order and hung up on. I never fully understand how boutique stores like this stay in business when they go out of their way to make you, the customer, seem like a dumb nuisance.

Havent been in a Penzeys yet where the staff wasnt friendly and helpful. No exception here. Love the smelling jars. There is always something new to smell. And, if it smells good, some of it is going home with me.I dont know the names of a lot of the herbs and spices, but I know what they smell like, so I can shop happily here. Ive also brought people who didnt speak English as a first language, so they can figure out the English names of spices and herbs.Good, ethical business. Been buying from Penzeys for over 3 decades, and they never let me down.

I used to work and live close by, so Ive shopped here for a few years. I now live 45 miles away and always make time to stop here on my way home. Nothing like it anywhere in my new neighborhood. Love their products and the staff is always great.

The absolute best place to get a vast array of spices. There are smell-sample jars available for each spice. Make sure you get on the mailing list, at least a couple times a month you will receive free samples or heavy discounted spices to keep you coming back for more. Staff is friendly and helpful if finding exactly what you need to make your dish just right!

It smells wonderful when you walk into a Penzeys! The staff is friendly and helpful. Their spices are top quality and they have blends that are great for novice cooks or professional chefs. I think fox point seasoning is yummy on just about anything, but they really have something for everyone. You may spend a little more than you would for stale grocery store spices, but when your food tastes better than most restaurants, youll save money by cooking at home.

Penzeys might be one of my favorite companies of all time. Their products are fantastic, but more importantly they are very socially active and aware. They will give away $20-$40 worth of spices about 3 to 5 times a year with no catch. LOVE THEM!

We buy most of our spices from Penzeys. Normally, we have to use mail order as there are no stores near where we live. Its a treat to be able to walk into an actual store.

I was working in the area for the week and came across this nice little spice Palace.I am refinishing my kitchen and bought new salt and pepper grinders so I decided to go in I learned a lot about different spices Ive never heard of and came home with some really interesting tastes.The ladies were very pleasant and helpful.Prices are reasonable and they gave me a free small jar of a spice!

Love this place! The smells o the smells are wonderful! I got a smoked paprika and it blew my other spices away. When you walk in you feel like you are in a gourmet kitchen. There are jars of spices all over for you to smell and see if you like them or not. If you are trying to find a spice that is hard to find here is the place I bet they will have it.

Penzeys Spices is an interesting place to shop. It offers a wide variety of spices and spice blends. My favorite is Sunny Paris. It doesnt have salt or sugar added and is quite delicious on meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, vegetables and in rice. I think some of the spices are a bit pricey, but some are worth it. If you spend over $30 (which is easy to do) there is usually something free.

Customer service is lacking here. Milford Spice company is a better option. Great people there at Milford way friendlier.

We subscribe to their free mailing list and receive coupons for incredible deals, usually buy something fairly inexpensive and receive something incredibly wonderful.They often have free gift boxes of spices in support of many groups.They have bags of the spices, so that once you buy the glass container, you can refill it at an inexpensive price.They have themed boxes of spices so you can get that aspiring cook a great starter kit and the staff is always ready to help you with any questions you may have.All in all, a bit more on the expensive side, but if you work with the coupons and deals, you come out ahead in the long-term. 5 stars for service and for products.

What an absolutely lovely spice shop! Its really hard to find berbere of such quality- and within walking distance!I highly recommend their Sate and Tsardust, theyre flavors you wont soon forget.

Love the spices. Fresh, authentic flavor. Would rather buy a smaller quality of a fresh quality spice than pay the same price at the supermarket for a larger amount of stale, less flavorful spices. Enjoy the blends, they bring a lot of complexity of flavors to ones cooking with very little effort.

They had almost everything I was looking for. Multiple varieties of many spices, and sizes to fit any need or budget. I like that I can buy small bags of spices and refill my own jars, rather than spending money (and wasting resources) on a new container or jar every time I need a refill. Between here, a Middle Eastern, an Indian, and an Asian grocery store I can find every spice Ive ever needed. Luckily, in SE Michigan, all of these are within minutes.

Ive been buying Penzeys spices for almost ten years but this was my first time in a store! Sensory overload! My only suggestion would be to have coffee beans to clear your senses before smelling another sample.

The aroma when you open the door makes your knees buckle if you dont know whats coming.Customer service is better than any store period. Prices are good. Quality of product is excellent.The only people that complain are those who are not used to quality.
