The process of their ice cream is very entertaining to watch, it is mixed in front of you with large mixers and liquid nitrogen. The ice cream has a very thick and creamy consistency mixed with whichever topping/style you choose. The blue velvet is the most popular flavor and is very photogenic for those looking for their next Instagram post.
Best ice cream I ever had !! Its definitely fresh. I ordered the blue velvet ice cream in a waffle cup and it taste really good. The waffle was crunchy and fresh as well. Not your typical Haagen-dazs waffle cone. I believe this ice cream is nitrogen ice cream. I would highly recommend this place and the blue velvet ice cream.
Fresh ice cream made with liquid nitrogen. Sounds epic, right? YUP.Its so fun to watch the staff make the ice cream. We shared a 5oz blue velvet made organic vanilla bean ice cream and blue velvet cupcakes. It was so good! They didnt have the waffle cone as the machine was broken the night we went.It is a tad on the pricey side but its Beverly Hills. Its expected.Parking: Metered parking and free after 8PM. Plenty of spots at the Beverly Gardens Park.Cant wait to be back!
The best part about using liquid nitrogen, besides the cool effects, is your ice cream is so creamy and smooth. No ice crystals or freezer burn in sight. Because the ice cream doesnt need to be preserved, there are no extra ingredients you can’t pronounce added. All you get is pure unadulterated ice cream. I love all their unique flavors and the rotating menu insures you get to try them all. The perfect spot to end a nice dinner date or take a break at after a hectic day of shopping.
The perfect way to end a trip to Rodeo Drive! Unique ice cream making process with eclectic flavors. Sure, its a bit pricey, but between watching the liquid nitrogen processing and the rich creamy flavors, its worth it! Cant wait til they expand outside LA.
Ice cream is made from scratch and frozen in front of your eyes. Flavors are full and creamy. Not enough seats inside if you want to eat it there. They have vegan Ice Cream made with coconut milk and agave nectar. Is a different experience. Highly recommended.
NITROGEN ICE CREAM?! I wouldnt have known this place if it werent for Shanon Y. (thanks Shanon! I owe you big time!!)$5 for a medium size scoop! For the quality you get I think its worth it.They use liquid nitrogen and fresh ingredients from the farmers market to create instant ice cream.I got:- Blue Velvet Cupcake with Cream Cheese: the cupcake made the ice cream sweeter and the cream cheese gave it a thicker texture- Apple Pie with Graham Crackers: One of their popular ice creams (Brownie is another popular one). It had bits of apple in them!!! LOVED IT!Sampled:- Popcorn Icecream: Popcorn flavored ice cream mixed with crispy popcorn. I liked it a lot! Because it was freshly made, **the popcorn in the ice cream werent soggy**. I asked for a sample after I saw them make a batch for another person. They scraped some out for me :)Service: A++Dont be afraid to ask them questions or samples (after they make a fresh batch for someone else). I had them explain the menu on the wall to me because it looked confusing.Parking: I hate driving/parking in that area! Free meter parking after 9pm on Fri nights.
The liquid nitrogen ice cream made at ice cream lab is super creamy and delicious. They also didnt melt very quickly at all for me so I didnt have to rush to eat it even though the weather was warm.Watching the machines working is really cool. The counter surface is so cold that water condense on it and you see little beats of water rolling around. They make each of your ice cream to order so you can watch although on a busy day, this can take a while. There are only 3 machines. They have different flavors on the menu and most of them are rotating. The ice cream is very creamy but not overly sweet. The Thai tea ice cream doesnt have a very strong flavor. I had the blue velvet, which seems to be most popular and is always on the menu. I really liked it but wished that the blue velvet cake was in chunks instead of pulverized and mixed into the ice cream completely. They have a yelp check-in offer for a waffle cone. I cant say that I care for it because the cone is very thin.Parking can be a pain during the day. However, the lots are free after 6pm and also free completely on Sundays.
Ice Cream Lab is a combination of wonderful-tasting ice cream and a fun experience. Though a bit pricey, its entirely worth it. Just the idea of making ice cream with liquid nitrogen is intriguing enough. The execution here is perfect with immaculate baby blue equipment and thick clouds of condensed water vapor puffed out every thirty seconds as the orders are cooked up. After the show, you are treated to a delicious dessert. Creamy with subtle-but-distinct flavors, its some of the best ice cream Ive had. Give it a go!
Experience is part of the Ice Cream Lab! The moment you walk in its hard to miss the liquid nitrogen contraptions, gleaming, with white smoke wafting out of them! The space is small, but fairly comfortable. To order, take a right when you enter and go to the end. Its great to watch your ice cream being made right in front of you, and the ice cream itself is super tasty! Take lots of pictures!
Visited this place for a private event and was very amazed on how the ice cream is made. I had not experienced any place like this before and found it to be very delicious! Your ice cream is as fresh as it could be with any ingredients you choose or pic from the menu. Very reasonably priced and very friendly staff. Located in the heart of beverly Hills this place is an awesome choice for a great ice cream
I was highly skeptical when they advertised that their ice cream was creamier and better tasting because of how they made it. I was so glad to be wrong. The ice cream was delicious. Way better than store bought or pre-frozen ice cream.I rated 4 stars because the price was a little high and they only have a handful of flavors at any given time.
I went to ice cream lab for the first time today and Im hooked. They make each order to order. Ice cream made fresh for every person, is insane but amazing. The staff was very friendly and explained to me every step of how they make the ice cream in front of you. Definitely a must if you are anywhere in the area.
I prefer the way they make the Blue Velvet ice cream at this Beverly Hills location, opposed to the one in the Little Tokyo location. Its chunkier, and deliciouser - more delicious? Service, however, is slower to get to the register as people tend to stand by watching the machines, and hold up the line, but brisk at the register itself. The cashier seemed annoyed when my mother asked to sample a flavor. It was also a slow turnaround from when we ordered, till when we received the ice cream. People that ordered after us got their ice cream first. It seems as though they do not make ice cream according to the order they arrive, but to which flavor mixing bowl is currently in the machine. But all the wait is eventually worth it. The flavors are all good. And the Blue Velvet is still my favorite.
As fast as one can order a cup of coffee, you can have fresh ice cream made for you from scratch at Ice Cream Lab. By using liquid nitrogen, they can deliver up some ice cream like youve never tasted before. Not only is it tasty, but its actually kind of fun to watch them make it. Ive tried a few of their ice creams and I must say my favorite was the Salt Lick -made with crushed pretzels, caramel, and sea salt. A strange combination watching them make it but it worked for me.
Its always interesting to see how your food is made. In this case, it was amazing. I just wish we were allowed to make our own ice cream instead of watching someone else make it.The ice cream was delicious!
I was fascinated by their concept of making fresh ice cream in front of your eyes...but the gimmick can only go that far...I am not complaining about the flavor /quality of their ice cream. But I just dont think nothing else really stood out:1) Very few options to choose from. When I was there, there were only 4 flavors to choose. Even though the owner was creative enough to give each flavor the most awesome and unique names, you can tell they are just the very basic ones: blue velvet, salted caramel, apple pie..and something else i cant remember.2) There is no samples for you to taste. Actually I wont consider it as a drawback. It goes well with the marketing they are doing. Its kinda buy it at your own risk kinda thing. I dont mind. But I dont think it will work if it happens in any other ice cream stores.3) Rules...rules..rules. I wanted to try both the blue velvet and the salted caramel, but nooooo! apparently they can only make one type of flavor from the machine at once. And it will basically fit the entire cup. So you will have to either get two cups filled with two different ice creams, or just give up one.Overall, great concept with smart marketing tactic. But I really hope the owner could do something to improve the customer service. At the end of the day, you dont want to say NO to your customers too many times.
Do not know about their ice cream, but their shakes are truly terrible. I ordered blue velvet shake. Tastes like cold sweetened milk. McDonalds shakes are infinitely better. Given the time it took them to make the shake and all the cool liquid nitrogen technology on the display, the end result was a huge letdown and a disappointment.
One of a kind make your own ice cream shop. Ice Cream Lab creates your ice cream order in front of your eyes. You place your order and you watch your server place items into the blue Liquid Nitrogen machine. The door shuts and cold air flushes out. The server opens the latch and viola your ice cream is made! They offer a variety of flavors including Thai Tea, Salted Caramel, Vanilla and Chocolate.
Very fresh and quickly served. Staff are nice. The ice cream was awesome, creamy and just mouth watering. I wish there were more flavors.
Novelty to see home made ice cream frozen when you order it. But it doesnt taste any better than any ice cream parlor. BR tastes better than Ice Cream Lab.
Very unique ice cream shop where they make the ice cream right in front of you. Neat concept and well executed. It is always fun to take first timers here.
I had some chocolate chip lemon brownie ice cream at the Ice Cream Lab. It was a unique flavor! I never thought lemon and chocolate would go so well in an ice cream. This place uses liquid nitrogen to freeze the ingredients together. Watching this being made is a cool, cloudy, fun experience. However, I cannot discern the difference in taste between making ice cream this way, an the normal way, or in a way that say Cold Stone does it. I wonder if this is more flash than substance.
Pretty solid ice cream in Beverly Hills. They make it with Liquid Nitro in front of you. I enjoyed the fruit flavors I have tried here. The raspberry strawberry combo was really good. Its right next to a awesome candy store too.
This place provides a novel experience - the ice cream is made to order with cream, extra ingredients, and liquid nitrogen. Personally, I enjoy the smooth texture of their ice cream.Blue Velvet and Banilla are a must-try!
Milk? CheckFlavorings? CheckIce? Forget it. Liquid Nitrogen it is!These folks decided to use the chilling properties of liquid nitrogen to instantly freeze their cream with the pull of a lever. Unconventional? Yes. Delicious? Absolutely. ColdStone Creamery has nothing on this place in terms of freshness. Not only are they creative in making the ice cream, but their flavors as well. From Blue Velvet to Banilla, and even Apple Pie, youre sure to have plenty of options to choose from at this place. The ice cream is excellent quality and the fun of watching them make the stuff in the first place is worth the price alone. Go check it out! Highly recommended!
The place is very clean and well put together. Staff is very friendly. The concept is pretty cool (no pun intended) but the experience is more exciting than the taste.
They say they have the freshest ice cream in the world. I dont know about that, but what I do know is: its the slowest ice cream in the world... Still waiting for my regular vanilla milk shake in an empty shop for 15 min now!!
Trendy and overpriced. You can easily find better, closeby at the Thrifty Ice Cream down the street on Canon Drive has classic delicious ice cream 80% cheaper
Its over rated .slow service .and taste like an avg ice cream shop. Design looks good on the web. Coldstone taste way better
Try one of their signature ice creams. The banilla was amazing. Best ice cream ever. The strawberry classic was also very delicious. The vanilla classic was ok.
For ice cream thats truly different. They just need more different flavors to get that extra star.
Good ice cream. Fun to watch them prepare your order. Cute concept.
Neat and novel way for scooping your ice cream. Bring the kids - the process is fun to watch.
Fresh ice cream they make right there when you order. Try to go when theres no/little line though..
While most of Ice Cream Labs flavors are a bit mainstream and not edgy in the least, I find it hard to pass up the opportunity to have ice cream made fresh using liquid nitrogen whenever Im passing through BH.I’ve tried the ice creams both in a cup and a waffle bowl made on site. Ice Cream Labs Waffle bowl is delectably thin and crispy. They rotate the flavors regularly so check their website for current offerings. The ice cream base is made using Strauss Farms, which is known for its organic and pasture fed cream. The resulting product after being blasted with liquid nitrogen is really creamy, but melts quickly and doesnt have much texture. Luckily the mix-ins provide some chewiness and several months ago they started offering toppings like carob chips and a chai spice mix-in.Ive tried several flavors so far: Barrington Brownie, Luv-n-Her (Lavender Honey) and Salt Lick Crunch (sea salt, pretzels and buttery caramel swirled in).Theyve been in business since March 2013 and they continue to add new twists to the menu by adding vegan ice cream (sometimes made with coconut milk).
Very interesting idea that tastes delicious. Its so fun to watch it be made too.
It is cool, but the ice cream is alright for the price, I would buy from a grocery store instead
I had the pleasure of trying out Ice Cream Lab since I won freebie coupons from an event :)Walking in, you notice that its very blue and cool looking. You also see the liquid nitrogen machines right away.Their menu can differ from the flavors on their website as I walked in wanting to get Nutting Honey (pistachio ice cream with roasted pistachios on top) but they didnt have it available :( So instead I got Banilla, which was vanilla mixed with a whole banana, nilla wafers, and caramel. Yummm! Not too sweet and I got it with a waffle cup.My friend got Apple Pie which was vanilla with cinnamon spiced apples and honey graham crackers. It DID taste like an apple pie but it was much too sweet for me.It was fun watching them mix the ingredients in and seeing the experiment come to be.Prices are $5+ and they dont have a restroom for customers.
They use liquid Nitrogen to make ice cream then and there. And its creamy and delicious.
Order a small. The ice cream takes approximately 10 minutes or so to make. Extremely thick ice cream. Pretty busy on a Saturday night
Very creamy ice cream with seasonal changes. Salted caramel has been my favorite so far!
I love their Ice Cream. It is cool to watch them make it as well.
Go!!!!! Wonderful place. So fun to watch them make ice cream while you wait.
Hip place to visit for dessert, but its a little pricier than what its worth, in my opinion, so it gets 4 stars. I do want to try the milkshake next time! I tried the Banilla (Nilla wafers fresh bananas) and cookies & cream, and both were delicious.Pros:- Rich, creamy texture- Banilla flavor was a unique, light flavor- Cookies & cream was a pretty standard delicious / I dont think you can ever go wrong with this flavor- Cute interior, swirly blue walls and hip ambianceCons:- $5.50 for what they think is a medium
The ice cream is amazing, and the way its done is spectacular. I have never seen someone make ice cream like this.
The show is nice but for the price I dont think the quality of the ice cream is self is that great. But its a great spectacle for kids.
Best chocolate ice cream Ive ever had. Dont get anything with chunks or bits. Wrecks the creamy-ness.
Great, creamy ice cream. No preservatives. Really solid!!
Great place for kids and adults my sister loved the place ... great ice cream
Great ice cream, but a bit pricey. P.S. the ice cream is way better than the milkshakes.
Pretty awesome fresh instant ice cream with very kind and friendly owners! Highly recommend!
Really cool experience. Ice cream tastes amazing too.
I stopped in here a couple weeks ago on my way to a show. Two employees on shift, but one doing all the work, while the other moved like a sloth and seemed to have no clue how useless she was. You could tell the other employee had enough and was just waiting to get out of there. It took me 15 minutes to get my ice cream when in the past it might take 5 minutes tops. Overall poor experience.
Fun experience for kids, but not necessarily the best or cheapest ice cream youll ever try.
Delicious!! But it takes time to make your own icecream.
Milkshake was watery possibly the worst prepared shake ive ever had.Ice cream was made in a cool way good desert for a date.
Horrible customer service from the shift lead Jazmin. After our ice cream was made, she had one of the guys working the mixer hand pick items out of our ice cream and throw them away. Wow couldnt believe we watched them do this. She was rude when we demanded the managers number and she refused to give it to us. WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!!!
Hi there, is this where you admit you have an ice cream addiction? Oops! I guess not. When I walked into this place for the first time I couldnt help but feel like a kid again. The smell once you enter is heavenly and the colors just pull you in... then you start to see someone elses ice cream being made. Suddenly you have to actually ask yourself if you have an addiction problem to ice cream. I wanted to steal the ice cream from the cashiers hands and running away like I just stole drugs. Hahahaha. I didnt do it, maybe bc it was being handed to a lil boy... or maybe I am a good person.Watching the ice cream being made for others and myself I just felt so giddy. The ice cream itself is different than regular ice cream, sort of dry, but not in a bad way.If you love ice cream add this to your bucket list. Trust me. Im not an addict, I think.
Great tasting ice cream, fun to watch them make it.
A delicious ice cream shop smelling the milk which how to make is unique, and is fresh. The favorite is Blue Bell Bet.
The staff seemed disinterested and not real friendly. it took way longer than it should have, they were out of one of the toppings that came with the ice cream and just said is that ok? serving was small and NOT VERY GOOD, NOT A LOT OF CREAM OR BUTTERFAT IN THE RECIPE JUST FLAVORED MILK, GO TO McDONALDS for a $1 frosty
The ice cream was incredibly rich and fresh👌🙌
Liquid nitrogen ice cream. Tasty.
They do all this work to create the icecream but it tastes like supermarket icecream. Nothing special about the place.
The best ice cream Ive ever had! I got Banilla and fro-yo is no comparison.
Pretty good for Nitrogen ice cream.
Ice cream pretty good. service sucked.
Had the banana wafer and it was so good.
Excellent place, ice cream is amazing.
Nothing special about the ice cream. the only good part about this place is watching them make your ice cream.
Great ice cream and good service
So many good options that makes you come back several times.
Nitrogen ice cream with unusual texture
Ice Cream was decent but the price was too high and the nitrogen element is overrated.
Good fresh ice cream
Great ice creams and fresh
Out of business and is now a smoothie shop
A special way to get your ice cream. They make it in front of you after you order!
Sweet nitrogen ice cream
Instant ice cream, tasty, and unique.
I love it.
The ice cream is super nicec
It is out of business apparently
Good icecream
Fun times!
Best Ice cream ever
Delicious, no doubt that
Now permanently closed...
