My now favorite go-to chocolate spot. The handmade chocolates are delicious and like little pieces of art. Hopefully you get a chance to interact with Elle, one of the chocolatiers. Elle went above and beyond with the help I was looking for - patient in answering all my questions and did so in the friendliest manner. Even provided a couple samples to help in making my decisions. Highly recommend! Well worth the money!

Only recently we discovered Birmingham Chocolate. The best, I have encountered in my 10 years in Michigan. The chocolates reminded me of Melbournes Koko Black Chocolates. In Michigan, this is one of the very few chocolate shops I found, that makes real hot chocolate, and not the syrup hot chocolate . Superior chocolates, superior presentation, and superior service. The staff, every one, is super polite, and super patient.

Endless selections with constant monthly additions to their menu. Not only are their chocolates delicious, but they are pretty to look at, almost too beautiful to eat. There’s been a different staff member working there every time I’ve come in and every time I’ve been greeted with friendly customer service. The hot chocolate is one of their hidden gems and is by far the best in metro Detroit. They’re doing everything right here. Would definitely recommend.

Had been driving through Maple on Saturdays and Sundays mostly for the last 6 years. Very seldom. Today was the day I was lucky to get my foot inside. Got a sampling (free) worth feeding a whole platoon of hungry mercenaries coming from an overseas forgotten battle. Nevertheless i bought a couple extra squares to compensate. Now i can wait another 6 years to burn all those delicious calories. The point is, if you are going to overdo-it on indulge In style? you must do it here. Ask for Elle. Tip. They have plenty of rear parking to bring whole platoon with you. They also have coffee although i did not try that

Loved smelling the air... I felt my spirits being lifted by the elixir of sweetness, warmth, and the aroma. The art work is made from chocolate wrappers, an answer to one of my many questions to re-purposing. Consider the 2 hour uber-sweet tasting private event... Ill be back! #auric

These were ordered online from their web site. Dont waste you money on these chocolates. Ive had better cheap chocolates from a department store. The pictures they have online are NOTHING LIKE WHAT YOU GET.They are also very small. I have had department store chocolates and amazing top of the line chocolates from amazing chocolatiers. In most cases you get what you pay for. In this case....you get cheap chocolates quality for a mediocre price. There are much better chocolates for this price on the market.These were a gift and I dont want to hurt the feelings of the person who bought them so I decided not to tell him how bad these were...I just recommended some chocolates that are some of my favorites for the future.After seeing the response from Birmingham Chocolate to my review....Obviously you will try to argue that your buisness is great. And to some degree certain things are subjective. Your molds are not the problem. Yes some other places use small molds as well. I feel your descriptions of your chocolates and pictures that are shown on your website are misleading at best. No these are not the worst chocolates Ive ever had...However after shipping my boyfriend spent approximately $40 for 15 very small pieces of mediocre chocolate. I would have enjoyed Rocher Chocolates more.Trust me Rocher are good but not what I would call high end quality. My suggestion would be to sample some truly high end chocolate and you can tell the difference. The creaminess, flavors and presentation all go into truffles. These are more like what a kid buys on Valentines day in those cheap heart shaped boxes from Russell chocolate. You might like them but definitely not the same quality. I personally dont like them. For $40 I can find much better chocolates. I dont know you and dont wish bad things for your buisness. I do believe in posting honest reviews. I hope you do better and wish you well...but i would not buy from you until you improve.As for the other reviews...Lets get real. 1) As I stated these things are subjective.2) We all know most buisnesses have friends, family, and employees post good reviewsSome even pay people to post fake good reviews.3) If you give someone a discount or free chocolate for a 5 star review...guess what happens.I read and .write reviews with a lot of thought.You might not like or agree with my review. It is up to the people buying to decide what they do. Reviews are the only way for online purchasers to judge. They cant sample...If the pictures were more accurate maybe that could help as well. I could aslo recommend that you put something in the box that discribed each chocolate. When we went online to read the discrimination of what was SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE BOX....that didnt match with what we recieved.

Being an avid high end chocolate consumer, I am looking to find a fine high quality local chocolate/chocolatier. Lets just assume Im like a connoisseur of fine chocolate.I happen across Schakolad on my way to Birmingham and purchased a box of 24 pieces. The chocolates in my opinion are not five star, maybe above Godiva (and Godiva is not the standard). I was aiming at something like Cocoa Bella from LA, Christopher Elbow USA or Cocoa Black from Melbourne Australia. I guess Ill keep paying shipping and handling until I find something to intrigue and tantalize my taste buds locally.You know something that has finesse, a subtle hinting of spices and unmistakeable full flavors overlapping distinctly but harmonized. For instance Id like to taste the toasted-ness of the pecan nut, embedded in a rich caramel center, a sprinkle of sea salt on top, coated in a chocolate shell that has a balanced amount of cocoa and sugar not bitter and not cheap tasting overcompensating chocolate sugar, a bite of perfection. In every bite, in every variety.Dont get me wrong if you had nothing else Schakolad is great. Id describe it like this, Schakolad 1 Michelin star, Godiva none and Christopher Elbow 3 Michelin stars.I rated it 4 star on price, presentation, customer service, location, variety and selection.
