It was a nice store. Melissa was very attentive and helpful even though I was just browsing. I love all things fair trade, even though its a little pricey I will be back. It had a great clean atmosphere. Definitely give this store two thumbs up!

Unique store for housewares, gifts, and products. There are a number of local, custom, and unique to Birmingham items as well. My first stop for gift giving, fair trade chocolate, shea butter, and greeting cards.

We were finally able to stop by today. We took home an amazing bag that I at first thought was for myself but my husband is quite impressed with it (it may end up being his). We will be back. I look forward to doing a lot of Christmas shopping at Sojourns!

Sojourns has a great selection of cashmere, alpaca, linen, cotton and so much more of shirts, pants, wraps, purses, shoes and ponchos. Melissa (the owner) also carries earrings, bracelets, necklaces in different metals and fibers. She also has candles, dishes, blankets, ornaments, gift cards, chocolate, metal animals, nativity scenes, soaps, lotions and so much more.

Very unique and cool store... bottom line!This trade shop is comprised of art, handcrafted pottery, toys, clothes, jewelry etc from all around the world. All prices are fair considering each item was handmade. You will also find a lot of notes about the items posted throughout the store. This will include info about the region of the world the item is from and even insight into the lives of the individual people who have crafted some things. The store is packed with goodies but doesnt feel cramped or hard to navigate. Includes restroom/dressing room(s) if you needed to try on any clothing. The staff is sooooo super friendly its ridiculous!Something that also helped solidify my first experience here is that it was Bham Art Crawl time and we were served delish jalapeno margaritas and there was even a Henna Artist in-house displaying her talents.All in all, very awesome place that you should check out if youre wanting to explore something a tad different in the city. Right next door to Reed Books if youre familiar!

Fair Trade does not equal expensive nor poor quality. I have gotten some of the very best items for my home from Sojourns. We have items in our living room, kitchen,and our daughters room. It is a must stop for a unique gift. From ornaments, to handmade paper, jewelry, puzzles, food, kitchenware, you name it, Melissa has it! The best part is I know the people who made it are paid a fair wage and I am supporting a local, small business. Im no hippie - I want quality and a good price! This place has got it :-)

Fun and fair. We always find something hand crafted, fair traded, nicely didplayed, and often indirectly advertised by an insightful or fun story presented by the world traveling proprietor.

Was very impressed by the interesting collection of unique items, was not impressed however by the salesperson who kept an eye on me while I was in the store, also asked her for gift ideas and she didnt offer much help with that, so just a little annoying, but I did pick up some cute trinkets.
