We came in around noon and there was no line. We ordered the parkway with catfish and shrimp with a double side of Cajun fries. I appreciate that the seafood was fried fresh and did not mind a short wait for my food. It was enough for us to share (we had just split an order of lumpia elsewhere). The catfish and shrimp were perfectly seasoned and fried just right. The bread was soft and fresh, it reminded me of what I had in New Orleans. We put remoulade on one half and spicy mayo on the other….I preferred the remoulade. Grab some it’s only .50.My only issue was the fries. We ordered double fries which wasn’t much at all. They were salty and kinda cool/room temp. Some are fried a bit harder which makes them slightly easier to consume but I would have preferred that fresh fries be dropped with our order. They were kept in a bowl under a heat lamp. I could have asked for fresh fries but I didn’t want to wait as a few ppl came and ordered after us. If I could give 4.5 stars instead of 4 I would because the Po’ boy was on point but I love fries and I’m offended when I don’t get fresh lol. I look forward to trying other options.
Havent tried the food yet but I am checking the owners responses to the RECENT reviews and it is scary. ATTITUDES SEEMED TO BE BETTER 2 YEARS AGO. You are not addressing the issues. You are very defensive and you think you can say have a blessed day and that makes it ok. My whole family planned to visit today but I dont want to come. The staff is going to exhibit the same attitude that trickles down from management. CHECK YOUR ATTITUDE BEFORE YOU RESPOND. I dont even see except for one response where you are planning to investigate and make corrections. The LORD has blessed you and it seems you have some type of attitude now. Im not spending my money with any business that has attitude issues and I dont have a problem letting you know right then. Thats the problem with black owned. Im going to PRAY before I come because I really want to patron your business. Take the reviews constructively and positively. It allows you to get in the customers head so you can be a better business. Remember, you are serving US not yourself. Now, you have a blessed forever. The owner read this review and sent a horrible attitude filled response. Yes, this review is about you not the food. I definitely will not be coming and I will put this in my paper. You did not listen to anything I posted. YOU CANT HAVE MY MONEY!! GO PRAY!!
We stopped by for a treat for the kids after visiting the McWane center the other day and were pleasantly surprised by the full menu. The owner, Kelly, kept asking the kids their favorite colors and then went through each flavor that matched the color to help them decide the shaved ice flavor of their choice. When she got to Tigers Blood by youngest giggled and asked if he would turn into an actual tiger - to which she simply said - Maybe with a wink. I appreciated her taking the time to engage my crazy group and personalizing each one of their treats that afternoon. While the kids ate, i was able to indulge in one of their poboys. I got the SLT and my husband got the Catfish Box. I have no clue what they are putting in that batter but it has to be magic. Simply delicious! We will definitely be back!
Pretty much one of the best poboys Ive had in a long time - outside of New Orleans. I got the SLT and my lunch companion got the Catfish Parkway. Everything was perfect - and that sauce they put on the SLT? Amazing! Cant wait to try the rest of the menu!Oh! Our NOLA Ice was great too. Get the Tigers blood. The team was really patient with us while we were deciding on the flavors and the owner even took the time to go through certain ones to help describe them and tell us which were the most popular and which went perfectly with their NOLA Cream. Definitely get the Tigers Blood with NOLA Cream.
Authentic (check). Delicious (check). Great Customer Service (Check). Fresh & Hot (Check). This place is really really good, the thing I love about it is all the food is cook to order so the wait is beyond worth it for fresh hot delicious food. Catfish & Shrimp Box is a must!!!!
I had the lemon pepper catfish po boy with cajun ranch fries and the red beans and rice. I think itd a been way better if it wasnt for the salt... it was to much. High blood is real amongst my folks
I originally went into this place, because my son wanted snow ball after a long hot day. I got there and ordered him a cherry snow ball... He enjoyed it and because i was a little hungry myself I ordered a Crawfish grilled cheese sandwich to hold me over. OMG!!! when i say this thing was awesomeness in your mouth, its not an exaggeration....The toasted bread, the gooey cheese and all that crawfish was exactly what i needed. Im pretty sure I ate that thing in so quick i had to remember to swallow (it was soooooo good). Needless to say I will be back and I cant wait to taste the PoBoys as I saw one on the plate of a guest i front of me......Thanks for taking me to Nawlins without having to pay for a flight....I will be back soon.
Poor customer service. Attitude is everything. A restaurant is more than just ok food - the service you receive is everything and it’s lacking at this establishment. Sad.
It was Black 🖤 Owned and we loved the shaved ice drinks..✊🏾💪🏾👍🏾🇿🇦🇹🇿🇲🇬🇪🇬🇪🇹🇬🇭🇨🇲🇨🇩🇰🇪🇭🇹🇹🇹🇯🇲
Amazing food! Best Po boy Ive ever had. Staff is extremely friendly, prompt and efficient.
The flavor of the snoball was pretty good, but the ice was really hard & not like a New Orleans style snoball. However, the poboy was good, only wish there were more shrimp. Also the dirty rice had a good flavor, but was really mushy.
If youre missing New Orleans, wanna visit New Orleans, or just want some yummy cajun food and treats..... you gotta visit! The snoballs are divine, get it topped with condensed milk (cream), you wont regret it! And the poboys are delish!
Great location, and the ability to get my favorite snoball - Pina Colada with Nola cream - makes it even better. Make sure you try the catfish and shrimp box. Get the fried green tomatoes and okra. And the remoulade! Get the Remoulade!
Went there on my lunch break today and the wait was over an hour. Y’all they didn’t even have white bread with the fish 🤣 and then the young lady was cooking like two pieces of fish at a time like.....who does that? Finally, after waiting over an hour I get the food and everything is greasy and undone 🤢 Money just gone to waste. Y’all be careful eating there.
The staff was very unorganized. Long wait time. The catfish tasted old and like the oil needed to be changed. They forgot things on the order. I will not be returning.
My pregnant daughter and I drove all the way across town to get a shaved ice and they aren’t even open yet.
Great place to meet and catch up with friends. really nothing but enjoyable experiences here, ill be back. it has a cool interior.
Food is just ok but unless you want to wait 30-45 minutes for food I wouldn’t go at peak hours. This has happened twice now.
Had a chance to stop by and had some of the etouffee it was delicious the conversation was great because we got to talk about the New Orleans area and the paperwork very nice
Very friendly great service.
Fantastic customer service! I didnt catch the gentlemans name who waited on us, but he mentioned he had just started and was so helpful. We will definitely be looking for NOLA Ice around town from now on!!
Bad Service!
Im from Nola and this place gives me a taste of home. Everytime Ive a snoball its been perfect! Creole cream cheese and condensed milk is my favorite!
Good service, but snocone was a little dry.
Great selection of flavors, good customer service.
I can’t get enough of these snoballs! The ice is bomb, syrup is bomb, staff is bomb, owner is bomb.
Best snoballs in Birmingham!!! My family LOVES NOLA Ice!!!
Great food in the park.
