I have been considering visiting Matt for some time but always ended up being too scared. Even the morning of my shoot I thought about canceling out of nervousness. That all disappeared once I got there. From picking out last minute outfits in the boutique, to hair and makeup (with mimosas), all the way to my amazing shoot the experience was fun, exciting and empowering. I braved Boudoir!!! I could scream this from the rooftops right now!! This experience was on my wish list of things to do for a long time, but I kept it in the very back of my mind because it was so outside of my comfort zone. Plus, I have spent most of my life criticizing my body, doubting my own beauty, and fighting with the ability to maintain self-confidence. I think what terrified me the most was the thought that these pictures might not prove me wrong, but boy did they! I had a shoot earlier this month, in his new studio. It was so much fun! And the reveal was even better. The photos were so flattering and beautiful. Matt Mathews is so professional and his honesty is refreshing. I didnt have to worry about a thing regarding posing. He knows what hes doing and you can tell he 100% loves his job. His staff is also genuinely warm and friendly. If you are thinking of doing a boudoir shoot and having any doubts, throw those doubts out of you mind and at least send him an email to let him know your interest. He answers all your questions and returns emails very quickly. Think you cant afford it? He also offers payment plans.

As a photographer myself, I can’t say enough positive things about my Boudoir experience. I felt like I was surrounded by friends who I’ve known forever and loved sitting around chatting over mimosas while having my hair and makeup done. I had a photo shoot with Matt back in July of 2017 at his GORGEOUS loft studio in downtown Birmingham. I felt like a princess!!And after all of this??? His photos that he took of me turned out absolutely gorgeous! They’re sexy, classy, elegant, perfectly poses to seem natural and not staged. PERFECTION!

Being a boudoir photographer myself, I knew all the goodness that a boudoir session can do and bring to a woman, but was still hesitant to get in front of the camera. Matt Matthews can make anyone feel like a goddess. I had my session set for when I was 6 months postpartum. My body did not snap back from pregnancy like I hoped. I kept the weight, gained a large amount of red stretch marks, and worst of all, had a saggy belly pooch. I felt unattractive and would argue with my husband when he would tell me I was beautiful. I came across Matt Matthews Photography by chance and fell in love. Of course everyone is insecure, no matter the size. But when I saw how he brought out the confidence in the thicker girls, I was sold. I needed that confidence and to love my body like these women I gawked over. The day of, most of the time is doing makeup by the very talented Casey. When she has done her magic, youll stare at yourself in disbelief because youll be flawless. Being posed in the most flattering angles and when he gives you a peek on his camera, you cant help to flutter with excitement. To be honest, I had to keep from crying at my reveal. I had finally seen myself as the goddess I am. I now accept my husbands compliments with a smile on my face. Doing this probably helped my marriage by saving me from depression. Ill never regretted doing this!

This was such an amazing experience! I was nervous before the session began but Matt and Casey make you feel like you are of their close friends. There were times while getting ready that I could not help but laugh and my nerves went away. I had wanted a boudoir session with Matt forever and contacted him several times before booking over a year after my first point of contact. I did a boudoir session! I never in a million years thought I would be able to say those words. I have always been very insecure with myself; there is so many things I wish I could change. I always thought why would someone want to see me like this; I dont even like to look at myself. I was even saying this the night before my shoot trying on my outfits. Let me tell you... after Casey worked her magic with those make up brushes and the curling iron; I was in shock. I saw that beautiful woman my husband is always telling me I am. I knew Matt was great because he took my wedding pictures; but OH MY LANTA...He is totally doing what he was put on this earth to do. The “experience” described when booking was not what happened. I didn’t feel welcome in the studio or pampered as was stated in the pre-session literature. My makeup by Lauren was excellent but otherwise I felt like I was in the staff’s way of doing other things. There was even gossip during my session of competing photographers which I found extremely unprofessional.When my husband got the photos recently he even mentioned I seemed out of sorts in the pictures. I’m usually a vibrant person, but he said I looked like a deer in the headlights

For the past several years, I had been struggling to find self-confidence in how I looked. Ive always been chubby (and in my opinion oddly shaped), so sex appeal was never something I saw in myself... until I finally gathered the nerve to do a boudoir shoot. Well, where do I start...I had a bucket list and a boudoir session was on it. By coincidence, I actually received some info about Matt from a good friend and she sent me some of her pics. They were fabulous! She talked me into it. I immediately called Matt and scheduled my session. After I booked it, I read all the info many times to make sure I was ready for my big day. The day of my shoot, I was immediately greeted by Casey, who I gave permission to do whatever she wanted to me, to make me look gorgeous. She did an unbelievable job. My nerves were getting to me, but they made me feel like I belonged there with them. I wanted someone who did not know me, to select my lingerie, since they were experienced. Matt went through what I had and suggested a particular outfit he had and then they selected a couple of more. By now, I was dropping clothes, and they were assisting me with my outfits. I made my debut and they made me feel like a queen. The queen I should be. The queen my mother has always called me. It was my day and it was one of the best days of my life. When it came time to shoot, I was ready to be directed to do my part. Matt did such a wonderful job with me. He told me what to do, how to do it, and I just fell into this modeling session I had wanted. I was no longer nervous, just ready to take my next request. I did things I NEVER thought I would do and also allowed them to be posted. When it was time to turn back to the normal Kim, I hated it. I wanted to be continually photographed and made to feel special. Ladies/Gents, this is a must do. Not, Ill think about it. You must do it with Matt Mathews. He is such a kind, sweet, loving person, and everyone is beautiful in HIS studio. That is the attitude you must have while there. When I saw my first picture, I was blown away. Couldnt wait to show people ME! I was even told by a male friend that I should be on the front of Maxim. WOW! Look at me! I did it! I looked good, I felt good and it was just plain ole Kim! I owe Matt and Casey for making one of my dreams come true. Plus, my last birthday I was 50 years old. You are not supposed to look like this at 50. But, my team proved everyone wrong. I had my session in June of 2017 and to this day I cannot stop looking at my pictures . I cant recommend Matt highly enough to anyone who is looking for boudoir photos. The best in the business and youll walk out with a new friend!

Hey there! I had the awesome opportunity to shoot with Matt a couple of months ago! I wanted to create a sexy surprise for my soon to be husband. After many conversations prior to the session, I really felt at ease from the moment we started. Casey is a total rockstar at hair and makeup! I wish she lived closer to me because I would seriously hit her up for any big event! Want smokey eyes and luscious hair? Shes got you covered! Casey and Matt work so well together to really create the vision! Matts guidance and directions are thought out and articulate. He knows how to place your body and will literally demonstrate. I never ever felt nervous with him. It was like hanging with best friends! But the best part is how the pictures turned out. I ordered a leather book & the gallery and received both super quickly. The pictures are gorgeous! High quality, soft, romantic and sexy. Hair & Makeup on point throughout.My husband opened it the day of our wedding and said it was the best gift hes ever received! Id say our mission was accomplished!!! Thank you Matt & Casey!!Seriously do this!! I dont care if youre single. Do it for yourself. One day youll want to look back and say Damnnnn!

I had a boudior photoshoot done with matt mathews photography studio and i cant say enough about how awesome everybody was. They go above and beyond to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. I left out of there feeling like a million bucks! Boudior really makes you feel a hundred times better about yourself. But throw in an amazing photograpger and you feel like a women in a magazine. I wanted to show everybody my photos because of how amazing they were. When the day came to choose which ones to put in my album it was so hard not to want them all. There wasnt one photo that i consider not amazing. They pose you so that they get the most flattering photos. Not to mention the hair and make up was on point. I ALWAYS recommend matt mathews photography for anybody that wants boudior photos done. Ive never seen boudior photos so beautiful and elegant. Theyre sexy yet very classy. Definitely what i consider 5 stars.
