To say this place is pathetic would be a compliment to them. Horrible impersonal customer service, they dont back their manufacturers warranty, slow in store rotating stock- which is no surprise from a business as this who swindles customers of their purchase product price and service. If your having any doubt about these patterns, I encourage you to read the other truthful reviews in this comment section - which are more than a few sentences.

Ive bought all my music equipment here and I love it all. They take care of me if anything is broke, and arent afraid to toss in a discount on certain products. Todd is also great staff, with much knowledge a out the live music industry.A+

We booked their DJ and limo service for our wedding. Gave 2 stars only because the DJ rocked and was super friendly and accommodating.What was good: Even when the younger people wanted dance music early into the dance they approached us to make sure it was OK to put it off until the older crowd had left. After that point they really had the dance going and everyone talked about how much fun they had.What was bad: They are pretty unorganized. I booked early to make sure we got a spot since we had a June wedding and they are pretty popular here in town. Well my fiance had ran into them at a bridal show and decided to confirm our booking. They had no record of being booked for that weekend. So I had to send her a picture of the cashed check and they found the contract tucked away, so they received everything but forgot to put us on the schedule. Once that was squared away she also told them to add limo service to the package because at the time I signed we werent sure if we wanted that or not. Well again, two weeks out, I called to confirm and once again they had no record of us having a limo with our package. I will say they were quick and easy to get it added though.What was the worst: Our limo driver was a total jerk. Our two younger brothers in the wedding party werent 21 and he said either our cooler cant come on or they cant come on, but I have been on plenty of party buses with them and that was never a rule, nor was it in the agreement I signed shortly before we got on. Plus, who puts a newly wed couple in an ultimatum like that? Then, when we went out to the bus one of the groomsmen were standing outside and he proceeds to rip into him for opening the door from the outside, even though he told him he didnt. He then calls him up to the front later to yell at him again! Turns out later it was a different groomsman that opened the door but he still didnt offer an apology for berating the other..Overview of review: DJ and office workers were very friendly and easy to work with but the limo driver was a complete jerk and we had issues with our booking early in the process.

Worth a visit. A lot of instruments that are very good values.

Best music store in town! Best prices, widest selection, friendliest customer service! Always go the for guitar strings, and accessories. They also have a good amount of studio/dj gear.

We have rented their limos and party busses many times, with no problems. Rick, the owner was upbeat, friendly and so helpful. We have never had any trouble with the drivers all have been very tolerant and accommodating! However, alcohol is not allowed on board when minors are in the vehicle. Understandable as this is the state law. Great customer service! Thank you Night Life!

This is the only decent place in town for guitar related things. Friendly and helpful staff. Prices are inline with internet even.

I have spent at least 25,000 in this store in DJ equipment, Not once have they offered to help me haul stuff out to my truck in 3 years... I think i made 6 trips one time, The kid sat on the computer and watched me.In 2016 I had a speaker that needed to be fixed asap, they sent it to some person in Bismarck to get it fixed I had to wait at least 7 months to get it back, and when I got it back it was still unusable. I refused to purchase another 500 speaker from the store. I had it shipped that day delivered to my door the next day.Recently 8/18/2018I had another speaker with a blown internal cone. I dropped it off to get a replacement speaker, was a little iffy having them fix it again because of what happened with the last speaker i had fixed, but i was going to give them the benefit of the doubt! Sure enough i picked it up on a Friday afternoon, need it for a Saturday wedding. The speaker sounded like complete trash. Its internal amp is cranked so high its unusable. and like i said before this is the SECOND SPEAKERIm not the person to ever write a review and complain but im sick and tired of paying for a repair and it not getting fixed the correct way. When a speaker breaks im not even going to waste my time with them anymore ill just 2 day ship one from amazon. so I started purchasing the cones myself online and fixing them because thats the only way they seem to get done correct.. This review isnt 100% Directed for night life. Also PK Electronics, i guess they are the ones who try to fix the speakers for them

I started shopping at Night Life because they were the only place in town with cymbals in stock to try. I bought $1k in cymbals and decided to order another. I was told that the order would be in 7-10 days. After two weeks I called, only to find that they were waiting to place the order until they had enough to qualify for free shipping. When I voiced my frustration I was told that is their company policy and that there was nothing he could do. When I voiced that I thought this was terrible customer service and that I could have taken my $1k purchase to musicians friend or Sweetwater he said then maybe you should.I will never shop here again. If you’re a business that competes with online stores, the only thing you have is customer service and they have none.

The owner Pam is completely off. We had booked their DJ and limo service for our wedding night, however we had requested not to have Pam as our DJ because of other brides complaints about her lack of professionalism. Well that should have been my first red flag. But we were told it wouldnot be a problem. Well turns out it was a big deal, Pam called us and confronted us and asked for an explanation as to why we didnt want her. Well we were busy at the time, thus we told her we would call her back later, and to be honest I was a little shocked that she was even calling. Then a couple weeks later she sends us back our contract with a letter stating our contract for our DJ and limo service has been cancelled. She literally wrote all over the contract voiding and cancelling everything out. Thank goodness we still have plenty of time till our wedding but seriously save yourself the hassle there are plenty of other reputable DJs in the area who are professional and accomadating!!

I will never go back to them. I had bought a used guitar from them for $97 when I was 14 and had gotten an amp from target for $80 a month later I wanted to see how much I would get because the guitar wasnt working out and wanted a different one. They said they would give me $25 for the guitar and amp. Really $177 spent and $25 is all i would get? he said that the neck was warped on the guitar. Yeah the tag never said anything about that. Why sell damaged goods and not tell anyone? Also they let me sell it being only 14 what a rip off. My Dad also bought me a new amp from them for $150 back in 2012 and so I whent to them a few years later to sell it back and he would only give me $25 for it I asked why and he said because its from 2008. I said but I got it back in 2012. Well we have stuff in the back thats from years ago. Again why does the tag say new and not from 2008? I said BS and walked out. This place is a rip off and I would never do business with them again.

In all my 30 years of being a professional percussionist Ive never had problems with warranty issues from a musical instrument vendor nor have I ever dealt with a sound equipment company whos personnel had difficulties stage micing something as simple as a bass drum.......... that is until I had the unpleasant experience dealing with Nightlife Music. I personally feel sorry for the Bismarck area musicians to have such a limited and lousy music store as this in their hometown. Its no wonder the order box stores are taking over in an area like this to the tune of 6 figures a year.So I gave 2 stars for this dive - 1 for keeping their doors open, tho Id rather resort to wally world for duct tape on a punched though snare drumhead for a Saturday nite gig instead of dealing with these guys, and the 2nd star - for good luck to them when GC moves into the state slated for Fargo in the near future.
