Fair prices, hard to get ahold of (I get that theyre busy) but all in all I love them. I love that they call and check before doing any repairs that werent previously discussed theyre also very friendly most of the time.
Great business to buy from and service your small engines. Thank you for your service!
Not sure what to actually think about DPE. The first time I did business with them, I bought an AWD Toro walk behind mower for over $600, and within 1 week the front belt jumped right off, and a clip came off one of the wheels. Had to fix both myself.Today I called to inquire if they would sell me a carburetor for by PB 580t. I called at 10:00 am and was told I would get a call back within an hour to go over options to find one a little cheaper. I called THEM back after 4 hours, and was told I would absolutely get a call as soon as “their guy” (the hell does that even mean?) gets in. Well, it’s 4:30 now you close at 5:00. Are you telling me to go elsewhere?
Like previous reviews, our rider has been there for a few weeks. Again, no lights, doors locked, no return phone calls. My husband went to the police also inquiring. Will we get our rider back? When? Can it be seized if they are bankrupt? It’s only a few years old. We really don’t want to spend a few thousand for a new one but we really need it back. Just give us answers!
This is a postmortem review unfortunately. Due to the Corona virus as stated on their website they have had to permanently close. Unfortunately they were a stellar resource for a bunch of high-quality products and their staff and expertise will be missed. Too bad they didnt send out an email saying that there would be a going out of business sale. I would have been first in line.
Excited to hear Small Engine MOBILE REPAIR now took over Dougs Power Equipment!!! Great service and turn around time!
Same as others recently. We dropped off our riding lawn mower 4 weeks ago and have not been able to get a hold of anyone and place is closed. I called the Blaine police today and all information was taken down and they are checking in to it. I encourage all others who have equipment there to do the same as it did not sound like they were aware of others calling them.
No one answers the phone for multiple days straight. I can’t leave a message because the voicemail box is full for all departments. My mower has been there for almost 4 weeks for simple service when they said it would take 2 weeks. Wish I could give zero stars.
Now I will tell you about Doug’s power equipment this is a very nice place to get all your equipment from the employees are the best I get what I need for my chainsaw here and they have everything for you right here so grab the wife the kids and head out to Doug’s Power Equipment you will love it
They sharpen chainsaw chains and lawn mower blades I think the best in the business.
Didnt hace what I needed
Quick efficient service. They fought for us with the big box store that held our warranty and made sure we got what we deserved. 5 star service all around. Highly recommend!
Not sure whats going on, but doors are locked and nobody answers their phone. I still have a mower inside waiting for service. Bankrupt? Owner died?Bank foreclosed? Blaine Police have had several callsand have started a case file?
I called ahead of time to see if they were open. They had no type of voicemail or anything to let people know. Drove thirty minutes to a closed store when a voicemail could have prevented it.
Always have what I need, good folk, if you spend money on your business spend it here
My cousin ran over the handle of the lawn mower, so it was bent and didnt function properly. Found out about this company through the Toro website. I called them up, werent too friendly over the phone. Came into the shop, much better service. Randy helped fixed the handle for me. Also, told me I needed new blades and new filter. Took care of that and then saw that my oil was too high, drained some of it out and told me what I will need to do next year. Overall, I had a great service, he was nice and did some extra things. My bill came to $50 for parts and labor. Hes expensive, charges over $100/hour.
Took 6 mo old mower in as electric start did not work properly. Was told it was done, picked up and still did not work, although I was charged $50.00 for bringing it in. I called the manufacturer and they to me to take it in again as it should be covered by warranty. Took to a different dealer, was repaired and completely covered by the warranty. When I looked at the slip from Dougs the electric start was not even mentioned in the write up.
I have had my riding mowers serviced at Dougs for over 20 years. They have excellent service and always do a great job. Because of that I purchased my current riding mower from Dougs. This year I am going to take advantage of the winter storage and tune up package so everything is ready to go in the spring!
Have used them for off-season storage and tune-up of our snowblower and riding lawnmower. Called to arrange pickup/dropoff this morning and found that they are permanently closed without any notice, and with no details about how to get our equipment back
Great service and knowledge at this place! Best in the area hands down.
Great costumer service.Update: 1/30/19Took my snowblower on 1/29/19 got it back following day.Felt welcomed right away the staff was on point with knowledge and friendliness.Highly recommend to any one.
I bought an older snowblower this last summer. After starting it I noticed that the belts were worn. These guys helped me track down the correct belts for it. Then after struggling to install them I called them back for some assistance. After 5 minutes on the phone with them I was able to install both belts and have been using the machine ever since. Great company!
Great Place to purchase items to change my oil for my mud motor. They always have the parts I need.
I needed a part for my ten year old snow blower. They were able to find the part, hold their daily order long enough to put mine on it, and got me the part same day. I was able to fix my snow blower ahead of a storm because of that good customer service.Ill be shopping parts for this snow blower with these guys from here on out.
These guys are true rock stars! My lawn mower stopped working last summer after I tipped it over to clean some clogged grass. I had no idea what was wrong, and the tech could have told me just about anything and then really padded the bill. Instead, he explained that I tipped the mower the wrong way and soaked the air filter with gas. He had me back mowing for about $40.00!! And, they were able to fit me in mcu sooner than anyone else.
Good selection and a fair deal on a new mower. I have been dealing with them for over 20 years. I definitely recommend them.
Stay clear from this place, the customer service guy was extremely rude and argumentative (older gentleman). Called to ask about buying a snowblower and he said the snowblower is not in stock but he can get it in and it would take a week to 10 days and wanted a payment for it which is understandable. Then when I asked if I paid for it will it be guaranteed to arrive a week to 10 days he says cannot guarantee it since they would have to go through their current inventory before they place in another big order to avoid freight cost. So I just told him to just notify me when the model is in stock then and Ill come buy it if he cannot guarantee that after I pay it will still not be delivered within 10 days. He was very argumentative and rude, customers want to give you business but when you behave in such a poor manner it makes it very difficult to work with you.
One of my outdoor maintenance equiptment go to places, mowers, lawn trimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and many more. All the professional brands. Mark at the parts counter can find and get anything for equipment.
Great service. Friendly staff they know there stuff!
Excellent, nice to work with someone who knew their product, puts you at ease. So I fired away with all my questions, and she had a good answer for all of them. It was a nice experience, drove away with a good feeling. Thank you Sue
Closed doors didnt tell costumer.Still holding my power washer
My riding lawn mower needed service, I was lucky enough to have a friend recommended Dougs Power Equipment in Blaine, I got outstanding service and they went above and beyond to get my mower going thumb up 👍🏼on this place I highly recommended them
I called needing service on a multiquip mud buggy. Basically it’s a motorized wheelbarrow with a little Honda engine on it.All I needed was Basic servicing (oil change, spark plug, air filter, etc) and was asked to wait so he could check with the mechanic to see if that’s something they could do.Then when the guy got back on the line he told me they wouldn’t have the tools to take care of this.I really don’t know what kind of small engine service company wouldn’t have the tools to do a basic service on a Honda engine.I even double checked with the guy to clarify that it was only engine work being done, on a Honda engine. And was confirmed that they can’t handle.
Craftsman mower was losing power and quitting after about fifteen minutes of mowing. I changed the fuel filter, cleaned the carb, and changed the oil. While cleaning the carb i accidentally punctured the fuel pump...I brought it in to dougs, told them about what happened and they said they could fix it so we did the paperwork... When we were finished i asked them how long it would be and they said itd be done in 2 weeks... 2 weeks go by and i call and its done so i come in to pick it up. I asked what was wrong and they said they just replaced the fuel pump... Which has nothing to do with the original problem... So i get my mower back and of course it does the same thing and loses power in about fifteen minutes. Disappointed it took so long and they didnt even attempt to fix the problem.
Great service didnt have my p/n but we found a match off shelf mowed tonight part didnt fail 1andhalf acres done thanks guys first time there good service
Had mower repairs done by these folks.Person picking up the mower was rude.Time to repair mower was unacceptable 3 weeks for a simple tune up.56 dollars to install a battery, followed by another 42 for the battery. To replace that battery takes all of 5 minutes. 3 bolts, undoing the strap and terminal connections is all you need to touch. So 100 dollars for a mower battery. Also every time I called, which wasnt many. But each time they failed to even find me in their computer system. Why? Because the spelled my name wrong and never bothered to update it.After looking at the invoice and supposed repairs done I was clearly gouged by these folks. They will not be getting my repeat business.
This is the place you go for helpful friendly people that really know engines and power tools.
Went to get part for a old chainsaw. Spent a lot of time searching out the correct replacement.
We came in at 1pm on a Saturday. Appeared to be 2 people working the show floor and both were busy. This extra time gave me a chance to check their pricing against other Toro dealers and I found they were exactly the same. A lady named Sue came over to us after she was freed up and answered all of the questions we had. She was very thorough even after we paid showing us a few features and how to set the mower up for its first use. They got the mower ready, filled with oil and also with gas which I thought was very cool. I will definitely go back and give this local business my money.
I visited back in the summer to get my lawn mower fixed and the guy helped me with it. Told me what I needed and he sharpened my blades. The total cost was like $50
They are very friendly and very helpful. My father in law went there for years. And as for prices they are very fair. I only take my mowers and snowblowers there to get fixed. Its like s small town shop.
Excellelent service. Was able to provide exactly what I needed.
These guys are great .I take everything I own here for a tune up or storage . Worth every dime .
Extremely pleasant to work with on all levels. They provide high level of customer service.
Just bought a Husqvarna riding lawn mower from Dougs Power Equip. When I ordered it, they told me it would be delivered to them in 7-10 days. On day 7, 8, and 9 I called them to check if it was in. They were very helpful and friendly with each call I made, even if they were sick of hearing from me. Once it was in, they noticed a small scratch on the hood and alerted me when I was there to pick it up. They had already started the warranty claim for me and it will be ready for me in a week or so. I may have not even had noticed if he decided to slip that by me without telling me. Great staff! Fair prices. I would recommend anyone ready to drop some money on lawn equipment to head over there and check out their selection. I will remember their customer service before I will remember what they have for sale.
Mark is a wonderful parts guy to deal with.
The guys at Dougs fixed up my mower in just over 24 hours. They were courteous, and I managed to get out of there for under $50. I highly recommend them!
Great staff and super helpful. They had the parts I was looking for with great prices.
Excellent service, very knowledgeable and upfront. I took my lawnmower in for repairs and was told it wasnt worth fixing. They could have charged me to try and fix it or fix it temporarily, but didnt.Told me to run it until it is completely dead.
Been going here for decades. Very helpful and friendly.
Fixed my lawn mower deck at a reasonable price, and on time.
Working right next store I wanted to give a local business a try. I called in for a replacement Kawasaki starter for my Toro Time cutter and was quoted $290. The representative also mentioned that there were only two left in the nation. I decided to my homework and look around. Right after the call first place I looked was on Ebay and found four pages dedicated to this particular part. I picked up a brand new Kawasaki starter for $88 with free shipping, which I decided to pick up since the seller lived in the same city as me not even five miles away. Easy to install, I am curious how much it would of been to have repaired here...
Very knowledgeable people always have the parts when I need them
I purchased a new Echo chainsaw from Dougs 2 weeks ago and finally got to use it to take out a stubborn stump buried deep in the dirt at my house. Just as I was almost done the chain became twisted and came off. There was no fixing it by myself (note to self chain saws do not like dirt). I took it in today, July 1, 2017, to get a new chain and the three gentlemen working today around noonish were so kind. They made me a new chain, cleaned my bar and the rest of the moving parts on my chain saw covered in wet dirt and put my new chain on all while not making me feel like a fool for getting it full of wet dirt. Dougs will be my to to place for all things lawn power related. They were wonderful! Thank you so much!
Service department looked at my mower (twice) without appointment immediately, I wasnt charged either time. I had a minor issue that was taken care of quickly. Extremely knowledgable, friendly and honest group of people. And they were right, small uptick in rpms and my mower is running better than ever. Thanks!
They are the best bring them back!!!
The most knowledgeable staff in the twin City area
Really good Customer service And was very helpful
Was pleasantly surprised!!! Very professional... super fast turn around.
Had my snowblower serviced in less than one day .awesome
Dougs serviced two lawn mowers and a chain saw for me. All three were returned running great at choked, but ran rough at operating temperature. Seems like the techs need to slow down and take the time to tune the carbs at operating temp too. Mildly frustrating...The customer service was hit/miss too. I received great customer service from many people, but some have that the customer is always dumb mentality. The carb issues that I reported upon getting my equipment back are usually dismissed with you need to use better fuel. I use fresh non-oxy in all of my small engines. But somehow it is always turned against me and not the quality of service. It is possible, but Im suspicious. Again; mildly frustrating...What I like? Fast service, good prices, and the equipment is returned working pretty well... but definitely not running perfectly.I think three stars is an accurate rating from my experiences. I may give them another try.
Chris is the man! Hes a part guru and has helped 2 days in a row getting the parts I needed for my ice auger for the upcoming ice fishing season. This auger is almost 25 years old and they carry oem parts in Stock for it. The gas cap was cheaper than online, the carb kit was about to the same price and the filter was more expensive but whats 2 dollars compared to 75 cents plus shipping. Ill keep coming back as long as they have my parts. But huge shout out to Chris. What a great guy you have there.
Great service, found parts we did not have all info on. Very knowledgeable.
Getting things fixed! Educating Every time I brought machines to be fixed
Ive been a customer for almost 10 years and even worked at Dougs for a while. These people care about their products and they care about their customers. And they really know their stuff! My friends and family are customers for life.
I come here for all of my small engine parts and they always find me the right parts and are always a good price.
Knowledgeable staff and good selection. In and out in 20 minutes.
Bought a lawn mower here, they were helpful and have been when Ive gone back.
Good price. Fast service. Professional treatment.
They have been doing all of my service work for 15 years. Solid
Brought my new chainsaw to them that another shop failed to diagnose and fix. Didnt buy the saw from Dougs but the staff was friendly, helpful and explained the problem and how to fix it myself if any future adjustments are needed. Was in and out in 15 minutes. They will get my business in the future
They don’t need or want your business. They don’t have the capacity to service a snowblower in June. We’re too busy with mowers, come back in September...not likely!!
Good people and have parts in stock
Great place for service. The staff is very knowledgeable and experienced.
I didnt actually shop there, but I was waiting outside while someone did. Creepy how google knew I was there...
Great service on my Echo power equipement
Seasoned staff, quality work, fair prices.
Sue is the best. Thanks for the help!!
Brought mower in and it worked for tune up. Got it back and it didnt work. Also, paid $113 for the tune up which is way too high. Never going back.
Need a tool thjis is the place ..smart friendly
Great friendly service.
They are way too expensive. Charging $80-$100 for the same part you can get on Amazon for $11... All I can say is, sgop around. This place is a rip off
Great time at a well stocked toy store
Called ahead looking for a part for a generator, they said they had one in stock. Showed up 15 minutes later and they could not find it. Took my number down and have not called back. Guy at the counter looked frazzled.
Very helpful and friendly staff.
Good guys, very helpful.
These chowder heads were not helpful at all.I had the part with me ( that they didnt look at) they wanted Other info, a young girl at Brays of Hakensack spotted the number right away and had the part. Get your face back in your magazine boys.Wont be back.
