Beautiful nursery with a huge greenhouse filled with a large variety of indoor houseplants! The staff was all very friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone wore masks and practiced social distancing. I cannot reccomend this place enough!

This place has a huge selection, and is literally the Costco of nurseries. Customer service was great, Graham, the one who helped us, was very knowledgeable and really gave us useful information to help us decide what we needed.

I love coming here at *least* once a year and seeing all the interesting and beautiful plants! There is an incredible about of selection. I just went in today for a butterfly bush that was on sale and walked away with about 8 other plants too 😅 My family also gets our Christmas tree from here every year and they make it super easy and efficient (a plus with 2 kids under the age of 5!). Highly recommend!

Great nursery with a huge variety of plants and garden supplies. We come every year in spring to get our garden going. Flowers, veggies, fruit trees. Even straw for the garden. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Never stumped them once on a plant question.

Got new patio from plat hill last year. I was told that work had 3 years of warranty . It was difficult to work with landscaping guy Tuno, Not a customer friendly person spend over 10kOne brick from side came off. Tuno said without even looking at patio it’s our fault because since we are using lawnmower or tractor. He should have told us before spending all that money that we can not use lawn tractor, talked to owner graham and he wanted me to pay more money so he can add cement next to the brick, I explained him that the plastic edging used to secure the brick is loose and that the reason brick is moving out. He said he will come an lookIt’s been more than 3-4 months since we we are requesting to get it fixed but no one bothered to come and lookBeware of Tuno !!!! It’s like he is doing us favor after spending over 10k. Zero star for poor customer service. Should have used local landscaper for hall the price

Hello! First off, I hope all staff members are having an amazing day. Everyone was so friendly and humble. Not to mention, very knowledgeable like said in many other reviews. I even asked one of the staff members about a particular tree I saw, which was already planted in the ground and not for buying, but so I could get the same one in the future. (It ended up being a Weeping Mulberry tree) Apart from this, I ended up getting a beautiful Bonsai tree and a unquie blue pot, to which I decorated it afterwards. (picture shown below) I will most definetly be coming back!

Eye catching and beautiful nursery that will make you feel like your lost in another plant world. They have cute little succulents starting $2.99-$3.99 to gorgeous outdoor plants and indoor plants starting $5.99-above. My personal favorites are the cactus, devils Ivy, birds nest, croton and rubber plant. I purchased all of those there and the girl helped me decide on which ones would survive indoor with low light. They also fill up the pots up buy with the plant with soil. The pots range from $1.99-$9.99 depending on size. I purchased my pots there. Thank you Platt Hill, I will come back again! 5/5!

BEST NURSERY IN OUR AREA!!! I am a 14 year old that has nothing to do, I garden. This place is very affordable and offers a variety of different plants. Everyone there are very helpful and know what their doing. If you have nothing to do, Take up gardening and go here. Best place in my area.

Im new in Illinois and used to Iowa greenhouses who have a nice selection. This has been one of the best greenhouses I have been to in Illinois. Pretty good prices! I found several wishlist plants here.

Such a nice garden center. So many plants to look at and choose from, its hard to just leave with what you went in for. The staff was super helpful and kind definitely will be shopping here for all my gardening needs.

Pros: Lots of choices of Perrenials and annuals in early spring, first week of May is definitely time to go before the options are pick by lots of buyers. Know the options of what you want to buy before you go, its easier once you are there. Take picture of your yards/garden to see if its in shade, full sun or partially shade, the gardener can tell you what grow best in such location.Cons: Pricey $$ compare to Retail place with less options. Avoid to come on weekends, otherwise it can be 30 minutes wait on cashier register.

Just had a multi stem redbud planted by Platt Hill. The installers are fantastic! They took their time and did the installation with tremendous care. They are really nice people as well. I highly recommend them.

It is incredibly frustrating to shop here because the product inventory is being ordered and managed by a bunch of kids. Every year they sell out of One Step and try to substitute an inferior product. I fell for that once, wasted $140 and 6 hrs of time to learn that they substitute was worthless. Why do they sell out? Because they dont have an adult doing the ordering who can figure out they need to order much much more of their most popular products.Same thing with their bagged decorative stone. One type kept selling out all summer. I tried for 6 weeks to get the quantity I needed. They would get stock in and it would be gone within a few days. I spoke to Nick, the kid doing the ordering and he said he was not ordering any more for the year. So unhappy customers, guess that doesnt matter.This is not rocket science, they are simply not ordering enough of the products they keep selling out of. That simple. Get an adult to manage it.

This has been my favorite nursery for a few years now. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Their rewards program is very easy and straightforward and any plants Ive gotten have done great (barring gardener error!) They have a great selection with a wide variety within each type of plant/tree/shrub as well as the odds and ends that go along with your garden

First and foremost, we have been going to Platt Hill for over 20 years for all seasons and all types of items: flowers, pumpkins, Christmas trees, etc! My mom even refers to Platt Hill as her “happy place”.We had a pretty rough experience roughly a week ago and we were very disappointed because we have always had wonderful and memorable experiences. I reached out, heard back almost instantly from Graham Hill (the owner) and spoke with him for several days. He was extremely apologetic, offered to meet with my mom and I, helped us pick out the perfect tree, made sure everything was coordinated properly, and made sure we were treated like family! He even provided us with a handwritten apology!You really can’t find better than the owner of Platt Hill. He knows what he is doing and he knows how to take care of his customers. He also goes above and beyond to correct anything that goes wrong and go above and beyond to show his customers that he cares.I can’t thank Graham enough for handling a complaint we had with such class! He is truly one of a kind and so is Platt Hill!We now have a gorgeous Christmas tree, wonderful outdoor decorations, and a happy memory from Platt Hill this year.Thank you Graham. We realize that one bad experience is not normal for Platt and we appreciate how responsive you were. We will definitely continue to love, appreciate and frequent Platt.

Many well maintained and organized hot houses as well as a large outdoor display area for flowers and foliage selection. Drive-through pick-up area for mulch, stone, and soil. Showroom for indoor home plant and flower display accessories.

Google photos are very misleading. There is a decent selection for tall, outdoor trees. But I recommend shopping elsewhere if you’re looking for something else. The inventory is very basic. If you’re looking for planters, indoor plants, better priced outdoor trees or home decor, City Escape had a much better selection.

The most amazing garden center and plant nursery Ive ever been to! The selection and quality is superb and its always exciting to wander the grounds to see what theyve got. Also theyve got the Platt kittens that hang around the shop, waiting for pet, which just makes the experience.

The other day we came in for some perrenials and needed some help. Thats when we met Sue and she was spectacular. She helped select plants suitable for two beds and after I planted them we were thrilled with her suggestions.Thank you.

Platt Hill is my happy place. I’ve been going here for over 20 years. It’s a little garden oasis in the burbs. Their plants are all beautiful and healthy and the crew works very hard to make it that way. They are always available and willing to help their customers either choose plants, help with plant products, or load up your car. We’ve been getting our Christmas tree here for over 20 years as well. Our tradition is to come in and get some hot apple cider (not this year due to COVID-19), walk around looking at all the pretty things inside, then go out to the green house for the train and gorgeous poinsettias. From there, we go outside to choose our tree. We love the addition of the fire-pit and wish we had more time to sit and relax by the fire. Platt Hill always gives me something to look forward to come spring and summer. All the flowers and plants are gorgeous! The hard part is deciding which ones to get...I want them all!I have been to many other garden centers and have to say that Platt Hill is by far, number one! Mike, the manager, is always so friendly and helpful as are all of the employees. Thank you for all of your hard work making Platt Hill such a special place!

This nursery is by far not the closet one from my house. It is worth the extra time to get there, because of the great selection and knowledgeable staff.

They have a great variety of plants, flowers, and fruits and vegetables. There were things I would never even be able to find anywhere else like I had been interested in hardy kiwi and found it there as well as another flower. Seeds can be pricey though, you can find them at Walmart for cheaper for most things.

Nice girls unloaded my trl, I like that u can have your 10 h Break in their driveway. They open at 9 am .We were 3 trucks doing delivery in the same time, the people devided to unload everyone in the same time

Call before you go. Annuals were sparse. Hybrid geraniums were almost gone...I couldnt find multiples of any color/species.Large bags of potting soil were sold out.Specific annuals were unavailable.Vegetables were sparse. I did not find a single tomato plant.I could not find a thistle seed bird feeder.....It is not business as usual. Really sad because many smaller vendors have closed....

Employees were very helpful with information I needed about caring for my boxwoods that took a hit last winter. I was also looking for a replacement perennial and only had a photo. They were able to identify what it was. I was very impressed with their knowledge and customer service.

There is a nursery only a mile down the road I live on so I was reluctant to drive a whole hour to go here. After doing so, I can say it was worth it. All the plants were well cared for and the selection was huge! On top of that, the employees are amazing. I was helped by a young woman named Breanna. She did a wonderful job potting my plant and showing me around.

It’s May 2, 2020 and we are to wear masks and practice social distancing and yet when we drove up to this place it was packed. Tons of people crowded together and not all wearing masks. This place is normally a great place. Please enforce the mask and 6ft rule to help keep your customers and staff safe.

Nice plants, horrible service. Wanted to shop local.The employee walking around inside nursery was not nice, did not offer to help me when it was obvious I needed it. I told the cashier I had to leave my cart in the nursery because it was too full/heavy. I told him what was on my cart. He rang it up and told me to have a nice day. No offer to get help to get the cart to my car.So I walk outside and see three teen-boy employees. I asked them to help me, and they did so immediately! They were awesome, hence the two stars instead of none!When I got home I told my husband what had happened. He called and talked to the manager, Kelly. She was no better, (she wasnt helpful in store either). She made excuses, offered no apology, was indifferent. She didnt care.Ill go back to the discount home improvement big box store next time, spend less money and get better service.

Huge place. Lots of selection. Everything was well maintained and watered. Friendly and helpful staff. Found the milkweed the wife was looking for to add to her Monarch/Butterfly garden.

Currently refusing to take cash for purchases, I will walk out next time without making a purchase next time.The CDC stated people should social distance, wash your hands frequently, avoid touching your face, and stay home if youre sick. Oh, and wear a mask when social distancing is not possible.

I used to volunteer here and it was a fun experience. Staff are nice and helpful. Id honestly love to volunteer here again after the Coronavirus pandemic if I had the chance to.

Terrible Impression and Experience. First, their primary entrance off Lake St. was closed with chain link, very close to the road, after scheduled 9am opening, almost creating a serious accident. When we called immediately after to report such, they were not very understanding, and certainly not concerned or apologetic. Once finally getting there, they were not customer friendly, and rather condescending, saying they only sell and plant large orders - 2 trees or more, and even then had a backlog of 2 1/2 months. They were not the least bit helpful in telling us where we could buy one tree and get it planted this year. Totally unimpressed.

Friendly, helpful and 10+ quality. Just wish I could spend more there.

Everyone here is very helpful and cheerful making shopping here a very pleasant experience. Their plants are always in the best shape and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

My absolute favorite nursery out of anywhere around! I go almost weekly to browse, chat with the staff there and often pickup a new plant or two. Everyone is great and the prices are very reasonable!

Lots and lots of different garden plants and accessories to choose from! Great employees that know what they are talking about but the only downside is the plants are a little pricey but you get what you pay for. I will be back a few times a month!

Totally love this store but theyre a little pricey. In addition to the vast array of beautiful plants, they have an awesome gift shop in the front. More often than not, I find a treasure to bring home. I can only think of one guy that works in the greenhouse and in the back with the plants that is super friendly, but I dont know his name (blond guy). He says hello to everyone and is helpful with his knowledge of plants. Seems like he enjoys what he does.
