The quality and service provided by Mountain Hearth and Home are exceptional. We were very excited and had high hopes about obtaining a gas fireplace, and honestly, they exceeded our expectations! They are prompt, knowledgeable about their products, reliable, and installed a gorgeous gas stove in our without missing a beat. We are very satisfied customers and highly recommend their services to others.
Mountain Home and Hearth were great to work with when installing my new wood stove. I called every woodstove dealer/installer west of Winston Salem and none of them would help with an install of a stove. I worked with Chris at Mountain Home and Hearth and he was friendly, professional, and helped me get what I needed to get my stove installed and setup. I saw the other reviews on Google and wanted to leave a review as my experience with them was excellent. I would highly recommend them for any wood stove needs in the Boone/Wilkesboro area.
Terrible and rude service. Customer service is non existent. Quality brands handled but not worth the hassle. Go elsewhere to buy furniture, or stoves. They hire a man to install what they sell, he is an independent contractor, does fine, but hard to schedule through Mountain Home.
I am so disappointed and upset over the treatment my elderly parents received at this store today. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau. My elderly mother was excited to go and look for a fireplace screen for her Christmas gift. A note was on the door to call. They called and the unprofessional man told them he would give them 5 minutes if they had their measurements. They went in and he stood with arms crossed, offered no help, had a terrible attitude. The things my mother told me about how she and my dad was treated is uncalled for. How would you feel if someone treated your elderly mother and father like that? I would never treat Anyone with such disrespect, but when it comes to my mother it infueriates me!. I pray that your elderly mother is never treated this way and made feel like my mother feels tonight. All she wanted was a fireplace screen for Christmas!! She has never had one. Was that too much to ask!! If anyone is considering going here, Dont!
Completely rude and not helpful at all! Made an appointment to see the showroom and had to wait outside for a while even though they were not busy. Once inside they were rude and had very little information for us. We have learned way more just from looking online. We left saying nothing and they said nothing. Now we know why they are not busy. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else!
13 days and still no return call to set up an appointment to get a repair guy out to look at my stove, at 10 days I tried emailing because all I got was the voicemail when I called. Still no reply to that email. Glad the stove isn’t my primary source of heat.
My husband and I visited the showroom twice. They were very knowledgeable. They were able to install our gas log fireplace sooner than expected. Installer was very nice and took the time to explain the break in time and remote control functions. Very pleased and would highly recommend them!
Not friendly or helpful.... Very rude on every visit!!
New Heattilator fire place allows smoke into the house. Called them and all I got was condescending double talk. As though I have never had a fire place before. They offer no customer product support.
My wife and I recently moved to Wilkes County and the home we purchased had a Vermont Castings Encore wood stove installed in it. The stove was approximately 9 years old but in very good condition. We were thinking of replacing that unit. When we visited Mountain Home and Hearth there was no pressure to sell us anything. They let us wander around looking at the different stoves. In fact quite the opposite was true as when we mentioned replacing the Vermont Castings stove the man told us we could probably save quite a bit of money by just having our chimney cleaned and giving our existing stove a tune up by cleaning it and possibly replacing some of the door gasket materials. We had previously owned a Hearthstone stove and decided on a Heritage model he had in stock which he gave us a very good discount on. We love not only the beauty of the Hearthstone, its long burn time but also its ability to hold heat after the fire goes out.The company that he recommended to do our install transported this very heavy stove and protected the soap stone and enamel finish during transport. They removed our old stove, cleaned our chimney, installed the new stove as well as giving us a decent credit on our old stove which saved me from having to list it for sale.I highly recommend Mountain Home and Hearth for their low pressure sales attitude, expert knowledge and ability to provide a recommendation to an expert installation company.
I bought a stove expecting my handyman to install in an off the grid spot. come to find out that he might not be able to install and so i call this place and they quote me 2500$ just for the pipes!! Seems they have the market cornered and they stated they sell only to installers. Well, they sold to me, charged me a $175 delivery fee, and i am not an installer, and now I am stuck with a $1300 piece of cast iron i cannot use because i cannot afford the install. THEY SHOULD HAVE NEVER SOLD TO ME IN THE FIRST PLACE AS I AM NOT AN INSTALLER BUT WERE VERY GLAD TO TAKE MY MONEY. And all sales are final they say. Steer clear of these people.
Call before you go. Cant really rate due to after driving 2 hours to get there they were closed. The web site lead us to believe they would be open. Dissapointed!
