They usually have a good selection of books and its a great place to kill some time.
Great selection of books for every type of reader. My students love this store and all the places they can go in a novel. Everyone should check this out even if book stores are not your thing.
In my perspective, this is the bestest of all. Because, I think that along with books, the environment also matters a lot-tranquil or solemn one, if you know what I mean-that plays the chords in you the moment you enter and you feel like yes this is the one. Sounds theatrical, but this place is actually like that. Books everywhere, like any other bookstore, but the environment or atmosphere is calming and enticing. Moreover, it’s inside a mall may be? I’m not sure what that is. So, the whole building and the outside area (the lawn) of B&N is also nice. Plants and pots everywhere and ample space to just sit and relax. Overall, definitely, this is the bookstore where I’ll go for the entire period of time I’m in Boston 🥰
Great Atmosphere! A wide variety of books of all kinds... It is highly recommended...
Chances are you can find what youre looking for upon arrival, but lacks the personality and charm of an indie bookseller. Comics, manga, and other boutique sections are lacking for a brick-and-mortar with such an abundance of physical space.
This was a fun place to bring the kiddies too. Educate the youth and encourage them to read books the old fashioned way.
No other bookstore in Boston beats this. Excellent choice of books and magazines with an easy to understand store layout. If you cant find what youre looking for, a staff member is always capable of showing you. Highly recommend.
Absolutely loved it . Spectacular selection of merchandise, clean, well run store in an excellent location.
My family and I came to the bookstore to purchase a Bible for my youngest daughter. I was very pleased with the kindness, the cleanliness of the store, also with the Bible that I purchased.
Does anyone know if this is a location which used to host music artists?I saw NORAH JONES in person right after her first album Come Away With Me was released in a Boston bookstore- but I dont know if this is it. I was even able to give her flowers and get a HUG! :-)It was a great experience and Im hoping someone knows the history of this place or can suggest another at which this might have been. Thanks!
Great book selection, starbucks, & bathrooms.
Everyone is very helpful! From customer service to actively searching for books in the back when they’re not on the floor!
Recently I tried to buy a book, and the lady was really unhappy to help me to find the book. I asked twice to help me, she helped but it looked like I asked to buy me a coffee. It was a very unpleasant experience. I was afraid to ask more questions. I think, its a time to purchase books somewhere else. 🤔
I still love the feel of physical books! I get a more visceral experience with book stores!
Love it. Excellent staff and excellent book store.
My favorite place to get lost into. Great selection of books with no rush to leave. Feel free to sit and read a book before choosing to purchase it. It also has a great contemporary vinyl selection. Also a Starbucks inside. Definitely recommend.
One of my favorite Barnes and Noble. The flow of the books actually make a lot of sense and all the workers are so helpful. This location also has the largest manga collection Ive seen. But beware, BN sells books at base price and books are getting up there. They also have great gifts, puzzles and stationary. Also doesnt hurt that they have a Starbucks attached on the side and one on the inside of the store (closed for now due to the pandemic, but not the one on the side of the store.)
Love this book store from long before the pandemic.
It had a lot of books but it certainly isnt as big as Im used to a Barnes & Noble being
I love this location where my job is, however they didnt have any budget notebooks and neither did the paper store around the corner which was a little disappointing. Maybe they can order some.
I love being here. Its so romantic and fun. Any book and every book is here. You can also find CDs and Vinyl Records. I like the business of it too because it gives you time to read without being noticed.
This place gives horrible service, they charged different prices for what was marked on the label, stole 12 dollars in total from us, really try amazon, it is cheaper and they wont do this kind of stuff.
Friendly staff, not a great selection of books. Also the prudential location does not validate parking tickets contrary to the rest of the stores which makes no sense. A posted sign to that effect would have been helpful.
Very nice place. Well organized.
Im always happy in a bookstore!!!! Barnes & Noble is so big!!!! The books are laid out so you can wander happily and different areas are well marked. Staff is pleasant and helpful. They also had a wonderful selection of gift items.
Always a great time in this book store. Workers go above and beyond to assist you with any issue.
Wide selection of books, great customer service! Support bookstores like Barnes and Noble, a great neighborhood bookstore, and buy local or Amazon will be the only place to buy books!
Staff always helpful. You can order online and pick up in the store.
Great book selection and service. Always a pleasure to come back here to buy some books.
The place is serene, you can slowly choose a book and drink coffee. I read a lot and this place is one of my favorite places on my day off.
Good . Clean. Customer service not great.
Best bookstore ever
Its a Barnes and Noble. It has books, music, games, and a Starbucks cafe. Before COVID you could grab a coffee and read a book but now things are a bit different. great books and rotating staff picks keep you coming back for more
Easy online ordering, very extensive book options and accessories, and very courteous staff
Lots of books, and theres a Starbucks inside!
The location on the prudential Center is beautiful
In full disclosure Im more of an independent bookstore gal, but sometimes you need the magazine variety. It was pretty empty, and the Manager on Duty was all over COVID regulations; Sir, no sitting, this is a COVID Red Zone was heard almost as many times as All I Want For Christmas
Love the cafe here, as well as the selection of books available. Displays always look neat and eye catching. Massive array of CDs, DVDs and other media in addition to reading material.
Highly recommended, going to the bookstore is a lost art that need to be preserved.
Very good as a bookstore. You may find everything you need
Book selection are awesome
Helpful staff and had the books I was looking for.
I enjoy spending time here. There is a great selection of books to choose from
Good selection of books. Somewhat confusing layout, to an extent. Mostly great though.
Great bookstore, also has a. large kids section. And some toys. do Starbucks and bathrooms are currently not available.
It was very noble but i was expecting a real barn
A Wonderful Location
I dont support places that dont treat their employees well.
How are you going to serve coffee, and then have your customers go out of your store and across the entire building to go to the damn bathroom
The purpose of the trip to B&N was to get Valentine Day and birthday cards. That was the easy part.OK, booksellers, what dastardly accountant convinced you to rearrange the entire bookstore? Fiction in the rear by the coffee shop and the least interesting sections in the front of the store. Really B&N, Travel and Art sections in the front??I logged over a fifth of a miles in the confines of your shop and left with just the cards.
What An awesome staff you guys have there. Amy the mgr was great, Allison was as well. They really don’t treat you as a customer, they treat you as a friend or family member. Everyone at this location was so pleasant. Great culture there guys! Keep upThe good work!!
You know, its Barnes and Noble. If youve ever been inside you know what youre up for: many shelves of full-priced bestsellers. I come here when I receive gift cards, since used books are a much better bargain.I had a great experience here though. The clerk was not only helpful but upbeat and positive. Really made my visit.
Seats along side of store. Good for reading. Starbucks. As long as you buy some thing you can sit and read. Close to the green line
Awesome.
The secret, not so secret, but chill spot in a hidden Starbucks away from all the city and commotion to be yourself at peace. Good place to get focused and for getting things done. Or even just browse and read books/magazines. Love it.
In the internet age, it is a necessity to have hard copy that you can feel and hold. I love to peruse the aisles, open soft cover books stick my nose in and inhale. Nothing like the smell of printed books. Is there a candle scent of that?
Great selection of books to choose from and nice atmosphere to enjoy them in. The Starbucks inside was a nice treat and the woman who prepared my Matcha Green Tea Latte was super impressive. Would definitely recommend coming here and signing up to be a member while your at it.
Very nice looking inside. Friendly staff. Starbucks available. Prices are higher than their competitors and made worse with Massachusetts sales tax. Youll have to bring your own bag or they may just let you take the merchandise after you pay for it outside the store. They charge for plastic bags.
Excellent location, easily accessible by the green line Starbucks Cafe is located in the store. It is a big store with lot of selection of toys and books. Good customer service. all in all, everything you expect from Barnes and nobles.
Lots of fun gifts for family members.
Great place, always feel at home
Largest, best stocked B&N in area. Indie stores in Cambridge carry same range of titles, at least in my interest areas. Probably get titles out of boxes, onto shelves faster though. They seem able to distinguish books that they can put out right away, and those that have to wait until a strict on sale date. Staff can be hard to locate, and Ive found friendlier staff at other stores.
Busy. Long line for holiday shoppers. A few more floor staff would be a big help .. and some way to distinguish them from customers. I had to ask three people Do you work here? before I found an employee. It may be laid out so that customers walk through sections theyre not interested in so that they are taken in by a display or a different subject matter ... BUT ... especially at the holidays when personnel are scarce, a map would be a big help. The sections are not laid out in a logical manner or any consistent order I could see. Even the grocery store has a map to tell you what aisle pancake syrup is in.The two employees that Ive spoken to in the past few days were not engaging in the least. For all the help they were, they may in fact have been customers. I I did see employee helping a customer who seemed genuinely interested in going out of her way to make sure they found what they were looking for.
The largest B & N outlet in the Boston area. With the widest selection of books. And toys. And games. And magazines. And plenty else. I love spending hours here
Barnes and Noble at the Prudential is always a pleasure to visit. The employees are always super helpful & theyre all so great at their job. I remember one time I was trying to located a book by one of my favorite poets (it was her debut novel) and I figured it mightve been paired with her normal poetry things but it was actually sorted correctly amongst the Fiction section! It made me happy to see her book among others and not just carelessly put with the poetry books.
A large well stocked and not crowded bookstore. Would recommended
Customer service are so nice
It is a very welcoming location with a Starbucks cafe, and plenty of space to sit down and read. I visit every time I go to the Pru to browse the wide variety of books, DVDs, magazines, and even games they have available. Friendly staff and very clean, I highly recommend a visit if you are looking for a good read at reasonable pricing.
Great place to browse a wide selection of books. Although the prices here are much higher than online, its still nice to be able to flip through different books all in one place. This is a superb Barnes and Noble, with helpful staff, plenty of places to sit and read, and of course a great many books of all genres. Whatever your reading interests you will be able to find it here or get a great staff recommendation.
The best Barnes & Noble I have been to. Very cozy and neat spot to look around for books and get a coffee.
This is a very good B&N store. Great collection of books, friendly staff, nice environment to sit around. Its good to have one of these in back bay.
Need more help in the cafe. Too many employees walking around the store. This is the managers fault
I love coming here and snooping a book or two.
Always excellent
Lots of fun books and board games here
Its surprising, but Boston proper doesnt have a decent toy store. The Barnes & Noble at the Pru is about as close as youll get... a surprising selection of toys. Also, that section of B&N is right next to their cafe. Take a load off and let the rugrats keep themselves occupied for a while, youve probably walked 3 miles while shopping by that point anyway :))
This is a regular Barnes &Noble with all the books, magazines etc. we have come to expect and love. HOWEVER your restrooms are abysmal as is the cleanliness of the cafe area. You may be relying on an employee rotation to clean, I’m not sure. If so stop! You need someone hired to clean the place and check the bathrooms more than once. I have literally been in cleaner gas station bathrooms.
Great selection, good connected Starbucks.
Its big, its well stocked. The staff are friendly and helpful. You can lollygag at the on-prem Starbucks. Wonderful!
Busy but polite
Great bookstore, definitely one of the only affordable shops in the Prudential. Very friendly staff and a good selection of books.
Cashier was extremely rude and dismissive. was very disappointed with my experience today.
For me, this is the best bookstore in the United States. It has many, many books, ranging from new authors and mainstream reads, to classics from centuries ago. If you cant find it by yourself, the staff is more than willing to lend a helping hand. Theyll do their best to find the book youre looking for and if they cant theyll order it for you!
Lady was splendid and she signed me up for membership and I was able to use a discount on a book that same day. Love the convenience of Copley Place in my back yard to access books and other things at this establishment along with lattes and treats
Great location, superb magazine selection, coffee and bathrooms, what else does one need? I have a bit of a magazine addiction and love coming here because, they always have the latest issue I am searching for. If you have time, you can grab some coffee and sit and linger. They also offer good details on the latest book releases.
Lovely store, one with a very broad and interesting stock. A store you can lose yourself in for hours!
Employees at this location are rude and unfriendly. The staff at the Burlington location are much better. It’s a shame because this location is much closer, and I go to Burlington only occasionally, so I’ll likely just take my business elsewhere, perhaps online, since I’d rather deal with no employees rather than rude employees.
Thanks to coupon mails.I could receive a nice offer. Shop clerks are always very nice. There is good area for children to play with toys and enjoy reading. We parents can relax and pick up books. You had better to go.
Great, picked up a Joe Nesbo, bestseller The Leopard.Ive read several of his other books MacBeth, Snowman two of my favorites.
Great selection
I love barns and noble. It was a good experience shopping there and addictive especially if youre a book lover. The employees there were very helper and when they didnt have a book in stock they are willing to order for you.
Large, clean, great selection, and friendly staff. I was able to get everything I needed in one place, which was much appreciated. Great place to find a book you need or discover something new.
