Went for the Dumpling cooking class with Chef Mike. It was really fun and instructive. We (8 total in the class) made almost 50 dumplings. Chef Mike walked us through how to get the skin and was really knowledgeable. We also made stir fry noodles, spicy strong beans, and ginger ice cream. Really delicious.

Went for a cooking class (and some shopping after, of course) and had a great experience. The staff was very friendly. Chef Rory guided us through the class with patience and kindness. I had feared we might have an iron chef of sorts, but he was very easy-going. Pascale was helpful as well, and Rina gave us fantastic insight on their wide range of products. Went home with 4 new delicious recipes (that I can and will recreate at home) and some high-quality kitchen gear. I would definitely like to return someday soon!

The cooking class was super fun! The dishes we cooked were fun to learn and delicious to eat - and what I really appreciated was all the kitchen skills that the chef taught us as we went along through the class! For instance, he taught us the right way to hold the knife and move the knife across the cutting board, he taught us about using whole spices instead of ground spices, etc. He is clearly very knowledgeable and enjoys sharing that knowledge with his students!

A very meh experience. Went to a cooking class last weekend, chef seemed very uninterested with being there, and rude. A few classmates asked questions. One specifically regarding why a certain ingredient was in the recipe and the response was because whoever wrote it put it in there.....what?! He could of lied if he didnt know maybe; to make it sweeter perhaps? At one point he mentioned this class was all on us, it wasnt one of those sit back and relax classes where the chef does the work....interesting/strange comment. We learned nothing about Tuscany, even though the class was about Tuscan food. I dont think Tuscany or Italy was mentioned once. The chef didnt even know the name of the class when we arrived! haha - it was odd, looking back I am honestly surprised we didnt leave early. Had such high hopes when we found this place, sad letdown. Luckily, there are many other places for cooking classes in the city!

Great cooking store, but also offers nice classes. We attended the French and Autumn fusion class, and overall enjoyed the experience. We felt like we were actually contributing, and the staff were very professional and knowledgeable.

I first interacted with the Sur La Table at Copley about three years ago as part of a cooking class I attended with my team from work as a holiday outing. That was a great experience, but it appears the customer service and experience has declined over the years. I recently attended a class that was an absolute mess - we ran out of ingredients, the chef was very rushed so we did not learn many techniques, and we left with a collection of half-finished parts (for two pies) instead of the take + bake items promised. Following up on that poor experience, I was offered a free class as an apology, which is a nice gesture. The issue is that Ive made five calls to the store now attempting to redeem the offer for the class and I have not been able to connect with a chef, nor have the store staff been faithful in passing along my contact info and request for a call-back it seems. My expectation is that when I purchase goods and services from upscale brick-and-mortar retail, I am getting a seamless, effortless customer experience that is part of what sets that channel apart since I can easily obtain many of those same goods and services online quicker for less money. My experience at this location of Sur La Table does not come close to meeting that expectation. Theres room for improvement.

There was only one person and the store and she was rude. She acted like she didnt want to help or answer any questions because she was moving the line at the register so I got in the line and ask the same question when I got to the front and she was still grumpy. If i wasnt shopping for someone else, I wouldve just walked out like this other guy did right before. He threw his stuff down and walked out.

Went to buy gifts for my staff. Had to leave the store because an employee was following me around the store, never said a word to me, just stood two feet behind me wherever I went. It made me uncomfortable so I left without buying anything.

Ive been to Sur La Table a few times and feel like its time to review them! I was so excited when they opened in the Copley Mall, theyre near Williams Sonoma but have a lower price point, which I appreciate. They have everything from serving ware, to baking decorations and cookie cutters, to plateware and silverware, to oven mitts, to dutch ovens and pans and so much more. I cant imagine them not having something Im looking for. I got a great Julienne peeler here (Crate and Barrel actually sent me over here when they didnt have one), and the girl helping me steered me toward the more expensive--but much less flimsy option and Im so glad she did. They have options at all different price points.I recently brought some knives in to get sharpened here and I just signed up for a cookie baking class and cant wait--the space is gorgeous.
